Went for a quick lunch today in Lawrenceburg and we stopped at Legends Express. The service is always good here, the employees are nice and make the environment pleasant. We always love getting the rice bowls. The Cilantro rice that comes with this is sooo good! In my opinion the star of the show! Also has corn, black beans and the white cheese sauce is yummy!! Firstly, you pay a lot of money for something that you could get more of at McDonald's and it isn't even of better quality. Actually, I wish I had gone there instead. The meat tastes old, cold and bland. And the sandwich itself featured more bun than insides. The okra tasted fried and gritty and had several old rock hard fries within that were not part of my order. The chips somehow tasted weird and a couple that I received were soft and stale. I assume they've been left out too long. The workers were nice enough. Though when they gave me the wrong order, they simply took the tiny pinch of meat on a plate that they gave me and put it on a bun. As a former restaurant worker I've always been told that that is not okay. This resulted in me paying more money for a meal I didn't ask for and not being compensated, as well as receiving a sandwich with even colder meat and buns being able to meet at the edges. The ambience is alright. The music is so loud you have to raise your voice but that's okay. Everything appeared fairly clean at the very least. I would not return here. read more

Great food. I had the brisket, green beans, okra, and banana pudding. I had the fruit drink which was really good. The banana pudding was just ok for me. I'm a little picky on it. But the brisket and sides were definitely worth coming for. And the price was very reasonable. $17.23. I recommend trying this place. The service at the cash register was a little slow, but I think they figured that I was still reading the menu so I can't really fault them for it. It has a hole in the wall look to it. Don't let that steer you away. Google has much better reviews and I think they're more accurate than what I see here. read more

Our first time here today and the food was absolutely amazing. We both ordered the Catfish meal, and it was so yummy. I got Cole slaw Mexican Cornbread and fried Okra, it was delicious and fried perfectly. Hubby got the same except he got fries and coleslaw. He very rarely eats the whole meal and he ate every bite but 2 or 3 of the Cole slaw. He kept saying this is really good. Teresa the cashier was so accommodating and very friendly and out going. Had a smile on her face almost continuously. The manager was very polite and even came to our table to say hello. I decided I couldn't stand not seeing what the fruit tea and the peach lemonade were all about. I asked if I could try a little of the two drinks and was told sure. Oh man I told my hubby I was in trouble after I tried the fruit iced tea, then said he was in trouble when I tried the lemonade and peaches. Well even though I was full I had to order the largest drink. Enter Teresa saying I told you they were good. Now if you want to really be happy, or blown away, I can remember exactly what she said. She told me to do half and half. I was like an Earl Palmer. I don't drink soda and so when I find a place that has a drink I love, it means I will be dipping into the cash fund to enjoy said drink I find. So bottom line is this, if you want a lot of food and it to be very delicious and an iced tea and or a great lemon aide, you have got to try Legends Express on Military in Lawrenceburg. Don't waste your time... we are new to the area, and I had such high hopes for this place. It seems cool, and I was hoping it would be a gem. I ordered the burnt end plate with mashed potatoes and gravy and macaroni and cheese. I received eight chunks of meat, not at all burnt ends. It's just some brisket that they chunked up. Their sauce is overly sweet, the portion was small. My mashed potatoes and gravy didn't come with gravy, the mashed potatoes are from a mix. The macaroni and cheese is the typical, tasteless, southern style, that I'm sure is not homemade. I am disappointed and won't be back. I will say that the drive-through service was quick, and the girl was very sweet and polite. read more

Regrettably, food quality was so so, sides were stale, portions relatively small, and it was oddly expensive. Ordered the brisket and two sides. Mexican cornbread was hard as a rock too. Legends Express is a great restaurant in the small town of Lawrenceburg. The food is loaded with flavor, and it's nice to support another locally owned restaurant. I ordered the brisket nachos (the brisket is a little too fatty for me) and it has a nice flavor combination! Everything tasted fresh and balanced. I ordered my toddler a chicken quesadilla and it seemed to be of good quality as well. Definitely a great choice of food if you're in Lawrence County. read more

Legends Express has some pros and cons. The pros: the food is decent, and there's a drive-thru. The dine-in seating is small, but nice for couples. The cons: the plates and options are a little pricey. They also stay decently busy so the drive-thru might have a long line. i went here yesterday and the service was complete and utter garbage and they treated me n my friends like garbage. everyone up in there are nasty people and act like they don't wanna be there. food wasn't even good enough for us to be treated like that. would not recommend this place to my worst enemy if your going to be completely honest. -10/10 read more

After a couple of tries, it pains me to 2-star this local place. I was rooting for this place to be the spot. It's just not. Not near the quality you get at a full Legends or Brass Lantern (which, the case of the latter, has actually declined quite noticeably in the last few years as well.) The food tastes hours old, stale, and bland. After eating in the last time, I looked into the kitchen. It looks like they have a cafeteria line buffet going back there. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the food is good. However the afternoon service is horrible. I have a client who is unable to cook anymore and her spouse likes your food and the fact they can get vegetables unfortunately their order is hardly ever correct. They have only received the correct order a few times and they eat there 2-3 times a week. You either leave off the cornbread or bag the wrong vegetables they have even received the wrong order completely. Like I said the food is good but the lack of service for the afternoon needs better supervision and better customer appreciation.
