Met a friend of ours who just moved to Tennessee there for lunch. Is a very nice place, has seating away from the bar area and also in the bar. Got seated promptly, our waitress came right over and took our drink order. I had the 1819 burger and my wife had the Tennessee Dream Club sandwich. Both were very good, portions were ample. I was a little disappointed with the shoestring fries. They were a little undercooked and I was expecting a more substantial fry like maybe a steak fry. But they were ok. Absolute delicious food, beautiful building and decor, with an amazing staff! Staff was extremely welcoming and attentive to our big party's needs. They went over and above. I tried the short ribs over cheesy risotto and it was fantastic. I tried a bite of my mom's salmon and it was amazing. Next time I visit, I'll be having the salmon. It was mouth-watering and flavorful. My sister shared the sourdough bread with the herby oil for dipping and everyone loved it. My daughters love their pasta dishes as well. Went here for our anniversary, the food were all good, we ordered, pork belly burnt, steak with mushrooms topping, crabs stuffed shrimp, roasted broccoli, salads, crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was absolutely amazing. The ambiance was so romantic and true to the era of old town Panama City. The service was impeccable and the food was some of the best we have ever had in Panama. What a wonderful addition to the little square of Lawrenceburg! I enjoyed everything about this place, the inside is gorgeous, very stylish tables, chairs, and their china is very pretty as well! After boycotting this place for a few months, the wife and I decided to give it another chance. I support small businesses and want them to succeed and it was actually nice to see one of the original waitress's still working there that still cared about her job and her community. She completely understood the growing pains and the staffing issues for the first three months and was telling us they're doing everything they can rectify the situation at succeed. There's still a lot of work to go to be up to a five star review this area with all the new restaurants within 30 miles of here. Pros: Steak was very well prepared, priced a little on the low side Service was 1000x better Tea was excellent Cons: Butter board was way too over done with canned toppings. And the warm temp (to make it spreadable) felt really weird. Nobody at the table would order it again. Also had to order a loaf of sourdough bread to eat the butter with. The few crackers and croutons weren't going to cut it. Out of a few menu items Out of chicken Out of gumbo or not making it. I have been to 1819 multiple times and have never had a bad experience. The food has been among the very best I can find in Lawrence county. The service has been friendly and accommodating. I hear a lot about how expensive it is but I believe that's a direct comparison to most other restaurants around. Let's face it, good food just costs more than defrosting something from Sysco or breaking open a can and heating it up (I'm not saying all other restaurants do this). While visiting family in town, this past Saturday, we went to the 1819 for early dinner. The restaurant was fairly empty yet they tried to sit our party of four by a wait staff kitchen entry. We asked for a different seat, which seemed problematic for the team. After several minutes, they sat us in the bright bar, at high tops, surrounded by big tv screens. This was not ideal at all but we settled for this table. Our server was attentive, friendly and helped with our menu selections. We ordered a couple of first course items and then selected our dinner items. Our first course items: rosemary bread and olive oil and pretzels, were warm and plentiful. Our side salads arrived quickly after, as did our main course. Some recommendations for future diners: 1. If you are having more than one course and you are looking to enjoy each course in a relaxed, non-crowded table of dishes-let your waiter know ( I am not sure if it was due to a slow evening and the cooks were not timing the courses or the staff do not have the experience with course timings. 2. The Tuscan chicken linguini was delicious and I appreciated the Alfredo sauce was light; however, to elevate the dish, I recommend the chef serve the chicken sliced on the top if the linguini vs chopping the meat into little chicken cubes. The chicken cubes are appropriate for children's meals but not adults. 3. If, like we were, looking to have a nice dinner and conversation, insist the staff seat you in the dining room not the bright big tv screens bar. I wish we held firm for a sining room table despite the disapproving looks from the staff. Final recommendation, train your staff both front and back of the house, the importance of course timing, removing each course's plates before serving the next course. This will help keep food hot and prevent salad wilting. As we were leaving, the dining room remained virtually empty, there was plenty of room for our party to have sat at a regular dining table, with more appropriate dinner lighting and no tv screens. Finally, our server was very good, doing double duty as server and bartender, food was good, though one from our group felt the salmon was too salty, also the expediter did not know what fresh ground pepper was and brought me a small cup of black pepper. As a traveler, former waiter in high end restaurants, I share these recommendations as an opportunity to elevate the dining experience in your establishment and to align with the images from your webpage. read more

Very chill in the front dining area. You can look out on parts of the Square. Music is present but at a pleasant sound volume allowing for easy conversation. The servers looked sharp dressed in all black. Our server introduced herself as Roxie (hope I spelled that right!). She was very pleasant and brought us sweet tea and took our order for the burnt pork belly appetizer. It was SO good. 10 out of 10! And, it was a lot! Must have been at least a dozen good-sized pieces. My fiance ordered a char grilled Caesar salad. They knocked it out of the park!!! Again, 10 out of 10. I got the short rib sandwich with a side of Parmesan risotto. I know it looks like I'm sprinkling 10's around but, I challenge you to find a better short rib sandwich anywhere! We both have had risotto at Hell's Kitchen - this was just absolutely delicious and had a wonderful taste and consistency. We were out of there with drinks, a killer appetizer (!), two entrees and a side of risotto for $67. The place was spotless! The staff was pleasant. The service prompt and professional. My gal and I shared bites of everything. A really great dining experience. This was our first visit. We'll be back. read more

We've been 3 times since they opened. At least they are consistent....poor food, expensive and decent service. The last time someone at our table ordered Red Snapper. He was served Tilapia instead. One must pay for every little thing, like butter for bread and even the bread itself. They do NOT accommodate guests with food allergies. If you cannot eat black pepper or spicy foods, don't bother asking. I could not even have a hamburger because they mix black pepper in all the meat. My choices, as given by the chef were a chicken breast, French fries, and salad with no dressing. $38 for that meal. Not a decent value for the money and I do not recommend it. read more
