I'm surprised at the bad reviews. Maybe timing has something to do with it. I reserved my trip *online* from the airport in Denver, and when we showed up at LGA four hours later at 11:30pm with a cranky, sleepy baby, a smiling and courteous driver helped us with our luggage and walked us to the car, with car seat installed. He confirmed where we were going, didn't complain or ask directions, and took us safely home, waiting for us to get inside. Hands down the best trip I've ever taken home from the airport & I definitely loved not having to call anyone and explain my address and spell my name for the credit card, etc. Made my evening. read more

My most recent experiences with legends have been: one no show and one time where they've tried to charge me more than the price that they quoted on the phone. I have employed Legends' service for perhaps 7 years now, as a frequent traveler, until this evening. After receiving a call that my driver was downstairs, early, I found him nowhere to be found 8 minutes after the reserved time, in spite of a very empty parking lane in front of my building. It took 2 calls over 12 minutes on my part - one very heated on their end - to determine he had 'gone around the corner' and would be back in 3-5 minutes. 10 minutes later, now stressed about missing my flight, the driver showed up during my 3rd call. I put my own bags in back, said 'What the hell were you thinking?!', sat in the car only to hear him scream, 'I can't deal with this', and literally THROW my luggage out of the back onto the street. I went out to save it, and off he went. Post Script: I called to inform Legends; they put me on hold for 5 minutes. I couldn't wai, needing a cab now. I booked and pre-paid with my credit card Saturday night for a Sunday pickup. The driver was 5 minutes early and waiting with a placard with my name so I knew exactly which town car to get into. In a city full of town cars that is a convenience I appreciate. Our driver was very courteous and drove very safely. Price was fare for private car service and I received $3 off for booking online. We just traveled to NYC with a toddler and didn't want to bring a car seat. Our relative recommended this company, and they were excellent. Their main office is very helpful and efficient. We received great communication from them before and after pick up. The minivan/suv arrived when they said they would both times, were in great condition, and had with the car seat installed well. Prices were good-even with $10 car seat charge (totally worth not having to drag a car seat around with you through the airport). Highly recommend. read more

I used this car service about 2 weeks ago to get to La Guardia from Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn, and I highly recommend it. The driver was on time and remained even though my friend and I were a couple minutes late. The drive was fine and the driver was friendly. But the over-the-top part of this ride was the fact that I left my glasses in the car and didn't realize it until I got home late that night. I called the car service at 1 a.m. and was told to try back the next morning. When I did, the woman who answered asked for a description of my glasses, put me on hold for about 15 seconds, came back and told me she'd found them. She put them in the mail and I had them back within about 3 days, packaged well, at minimal cost. It was more than I could have expected, and I will certainly use this company every time I'm in NY. read more

After having a series of VERY bad experiences with Blue Car, I decided to give Legends a shot. So far so good ,and they are several steps above Blue Car in terms of professionalism and ease of making a reservation. The cars are a lot better too. They're a bit pricier, but most of my trips are business-related, so paying a little extra doesn't matter for me. read more

Legend Limousine was responsive and reliable during my reservation and pick up communications. However, way too expensive and the van for 8 people was hardly in the category of a limo. I paid $243. without a gratuity for a one way trip JFK to Long Island to Legend LImo and on our return trip to JFK from Long Island I paid Super Shuttle $134. including gratuity for the same 8 people. The Super Shuttle van felt as though in much better condition and more well maintained than the vehicle from Legend Limo. The Super Shuttle driver was much more helpful with the luggage. read more

Worst experience I could ever imagine. We called and booked a Lincoln MKS to take us from JFK to Atlantic City. The driver showed up in an older Toyota Camry. I was also told that the tip was included, but after the driver took us to our destination, he indicated that the tip was not included. The entire transaction was a hustle. Excellent - order their services for all friends coming in/out of town. Use it mainly for airport transportation from Brooklyn. Love their prepaid service: no need to worry about cash / payment at destination. Cars are always in great shape, drivers are courteous and on time (early). They are very flexible with changing pick up times/rescheduling if your flight gets delayed. 24/7 telephone service. Super speedy- usually get to airport within 20 minutes (door to door). After several great experiences, Legend's failed big time on my pick-up from JFK when returning from a family vacation. Driver was not where I was told to meet him. We waited 45 minutes in the freezing cold with two children and finally located him waiving a sign across three lanes of traffic. He then proceeded to bring the car around to our original pick up point. We called the main number to try an understand why there was a miscommunication on the logistics and the dispatcher became flippant on the phone. Only then did we speak with a night manager who explained that the driver was agitated with us and decided not to pick us up! We waited well over an hour to this point, only to find out we had no car to take us home. We will never, ever use this car service again. Reporting this service to the TLC for investigation, as this business should have it's licenses reviewed. read more

We booked a minivan with a car seat for our 1 year old just minutes before boarding our flight from Zurich to JFK. It was great after the long flight to be greeted by the friendly driver who helped us with the luggage and took us to the car. I appreciated that the driver did not talk on the phone or text during the drive. I do not recommend using Legends for your wedding. I worked with Millie to arrange transportation for my wedding party and guests to and from our wedding at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. She was very responsive and helpful and the wedding party's limo rides to the venue went very smoothly. The drivers arrived on time, were courteous and professional and the vehicles were very nice. However, the return ride from the venue was extremely disappointing. We hired two buses to take our guests from their hotel to the venue, wait at the venue for six hours and drive them home at the end of the night. The guests enjoyed their ride to the venue and complimented us on how clean, modern and nice the buses were. However, one bus left the wedding early with only ten people on it (it had capacity for over 50 people) and as a result over a dozen of our guests were left stranded at the venue because there was not enough room on the second bus. There were parents with babies and strollers who needed to get home, and some guests had to get off the remaining bus so that the babies could get on. One of my guests called Legends and nobody answered so they left a voicemail. The bus ended up returning at 2:30 am but by that time the remaining guests had Ubered home (the wedding ended at 12:30 am so obviously they didn't wait around for two hours). I asked for a full refund on the second bus since we essentially got a one way trip from it, and Legends Limousine said no, the best they could do was a one hour refund. After much back and forth for a few weeks, they would not budge on this. I was extremely disappointed because this is the only thing that went wrong on an otherwise perfect wedding day, and am extremely disappointed with how the Legends team handled the situation after it occurred. read more

On more than one occasion, I encountered problems with Legends while waiting for an airport pickup. The drivers never seem to be where they claim. On a recent reservation, I received a call from the dispatcher and informed that the driver would be at a certain location. After waiting at the location with no signs of the driver, I call back and then informed that the driver has been waiting for me in another spot. They can't seem to get the basics down. When it comes to residential pickup, they are pretty good. However, they are unreliable when it comes to pickups outside of quiet residential neighborhoods. Also, the drivers can be just rude and obnoxious. For example, one driver decided to off load and leave a piece of luggage in the middle of a busy street with cars zipping past and stumbled back into the driver's seat like he was entitled. He did not seem to think it was necessary to bring it to the curb like he did for the other pieces of luggage. I called the company to report this unprofessional incident and received an argument. In short, save yourself the headache and go with another car service. They do not value customers or business and make simple things way too difficult. read more

We used Legends from JFK to Brooklyn and then back again a week later. This was the first time we had used this company but I will definately use them again. The cars were immaculate, the drivers friendly, polite and impecably turned out. Booking online was easy. When we arrived at JFK the driver wasn't waiting for us as expected but the woman I spoke to in the office was very helpful and efficient and we were soon able to locate our driver. Our bill was also discounted immediately because we had not been met inside. By the time we got in the car I had already been emailed an adjusted price. I was really impressed by the professionalism of the company and their price was very reasonable. Highly recommended, especially to other Brits who may be booking remotely, wondering if this is a good bet. read more

Arranged a car service with a car seat for my 3 month old. Called the day before and confirmed again the following morning. Ten minutes before the car was supposed to arrive, they called to say that "the driver could not make it to my location but I could meet him on the west side" -- the pick-up was on the east side... As a result, I had to call a new car service w/ car seat, I arrived late to the airport so couldn't check luggage, raced through airport w/ baby and luggage, missed flight, had to pay change fee and had to arrange different arrival pick-up. I called Legends and let them know all of the above. They did nothing. And I had previously been a loyal customer for years. So that's that. Using other services going forward. read more

Poor service, unreliable. This company left me and my 18 month old waiting for an hour at Newark after I called to say I had arrived. I had to call them to find out there was a technical issue with the car, and they did not offer to send a replacement vehicle. I had to make alternate arrangements with my toddler after a long flight at 10 pm. I requested a call back from the manager that never came. When I called back a month later to follow-up, the manager offered only a $20 voucher. Unreliable service from a company I originally selected for its child friendliness. read more

Stopped calling them after a messed up airport drop made me miss a flight -- skipped terminal and driver had no cash to change for $100 bill on an airport run... guy went inside and changed it for 80 bucks 15 minutes later, sorry! What? Never called again until last resort... only ones answering the phone in post-Sandy chaos, car from Bkln to Newark. Well done. Quoted fare. Pickup on time. Smooth ride. Got to airport and driver added additional $12 toll fare on top of toll fare already quoted. Called to complain. They said pay it or we'll call the cops. Caveat emptor. This place is BS. read more

Better alternatives with superior service exist I used Legends twice and in both cases was horribly disappointed. The operators would cut me off when I was simply giving my address. When there was a problem with our car (the child's car seat was broken) I was treated rudely, put on hold multiple times, and still charged for the service! The drivers were actually very nice and courteous, I hope they find employment from a superior T&L service organization, because Legends is probably the worst management-wise. I do not recommend they, in particular for parents with children who require car seats. read more

NIGHTMARE!!!!! I ordered this car service to pick up my child from LGA and deliver her to camp in the city. The driver was not waiting for her with a sign as was promised, so she was waiting and worried in the airport until I got a hold of someone that could help locate her even though she was EXACTLY where she was supposed to be. THE WORST PART was there was a specific drop off point clearly spelled out and "because of traffic" the driver decided it was ok to drop her off MANY BLOCKS from her destination. She was left lost and wandering in the middle of the city with luggage!!! I'm so furious with this company I will also be filing complaints with BBB and perhaps even legally. Even 1 star is too generous.... My wife, baby boy (6 months) and I booked a limo with these guys from JFK to Midtown. The booking was made online 6 weeks before we travelled from Europe - we specifically requested a baby seat for our journey. The initial confirmation email excluded the baby seat, so we had to email them again to point our their mistake, which they then corrected. When we arrived after a 7 hour flight, our driver was late. He then told us that he did not have a baby seat. I phoned their office and after 20 mins of being on hold I was told that the driver who was initially due to collect us got in an accident so they sent another driver who they knew did not have a baby seat. They tried to tell me that to make it up to me, they would not charge for the baby seat however!! They are unreliable, expensive and unprofessional. Learn from our experience and avoid at all costs. read more

Rude Driver, Aggressive driving and demanded extra Money ! Nothing done about it by Customer Service ! Daughter and friend picked up in Manhattan at same location. Driven to Newark Airport. Driver tailgated and swerved in and out of traffic on turnpike. Refused to slow down after several requests saying "I have other pickups to make" Both left van at same door of same terminal. Driver demanded extra $8 without explanation. I called Legends and spoke with a Tamika. After some clarifications of speed and such were cleared up, she refused to deal with the $8 overcharge even tho the driver admitted it was demanded by him. His explanation was he made two drop offs at 2 terminals. He did not make 2 stops and intimidated these ladies for payment and scared the nonsense out of them on the turnpike. Legends refused to deal with it as they thought my whole complaint was invalid. Will never use Legends again. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE RUDE AND THEIR DRIVERS ARE UNSAFE! I've been using Legends for more than 12 years, but tonight's trip will be the last. Before tonight, I would have agreed with Kevin R--not amazing service, but overall they were dependable. I'd had a few incidents that made me pause about using them in the past, with rude drivers and late pickups, but I'd tend to just say heck with it, and keep using them, when I needed to make a reservation. Tonight, however, I'd scheduled a pickup from LaGuardia Airport. Was told to wait outside at the first median, car would be there in 5 minutes. After 20 minutes go by, I call back and get put on the phone with dispatch, who goes back and forth with me and the driver for another 10 minutes trying to tell the driver where I'm waiting--and where I'm waiting is exactly where dispatch told me to wait, and which has a big sign overhead with the airline I flew in on. The driver kept insisting he was there, but he was lying to the dispatcher. When he finally drove up (again, lying about having been there!), I got in, and stayed on the phone with the dispatcher as the car pulled away. I then asked for some kind of credit to the fee (which I had already set up to be charged to my credit card) as consideration for the extreme amount of time I'd waited (plus aggravation of having to help the dispatcher help the driver figure out where I was). I was not receiving the service I'd paid for, so I did not feel I should pay full price for that service. At this request the dispatcher flew off the handle and started yelling at me, the driver turned around in his seat (still driving) and started yelling at me and my friend, and gesturing wildly with both hands in the air (and not on the wheel). My friend told him (very calmly) to calm down and he told her (a woman) that she could not speak to him that way. I finally had to tell the dispatcher to tell the driver to calm down because he was driving unsafely and erratically--clearly he would only listen to a man. If we weren't in the middle of the BQE we would have gotten out of the car, but we were stuck. The dispatcher then proceeded to tell me that I had done everything wrong at the airport, including waiting in the wrong place (which I had not), that I didn't know how car services worked, and that it was ridiculous for me to request any kind of credit. Then he hung up on me. I'm calling back in the morning to talk to the manager but I'm not holding my breath if this dispatcher and this driver are any indication of the kind of people who run Legends. I'm also going to report them to the Better Business Bureau and the Taxi & Limousine Commission. For what it's worth, don't get in Car #7 from Legends, with a driver with license # 5197885. read more
