I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars because I enjoy my house salad. It was made with fresh ingredients. I ordered Shrimp Alfredo. When my order came it was totally wrong. It was shrimp with angel hair pasta and some kind of red tomato sauce. Very nasty. I saw legends on the map quest first and saw it had 4.3 stars and was closer. We went to another place not at my request and it was dead. So we went to legends and legends had so many people. The hostess said. The kitchen couldn't keep up so food would take like 45-60 minutes. And tbh we were leaving and thought that was really nice actually. Wow, what a nice place! We were coming back to Cayce on a Sunday evening and there were not many restaurants open. We are so glad we dined at Legends! The staff was frriendly and attentive, the food quality blew us away GREAT, and the owner Jeff was friendly and chatted with us. He has a a lot to be proud of. It doesn't look like much from the outside being a tenant restaurant in a business strip, but you want to come here for the food. We had the crab cake appetizer and it was two succulent, moist, and rich patties with a gentle sear. With the fantastic aoli on top they just melted in your mouth. We were no where near the coast and folks these tasted fresh caught! We also had a house salad and the Sunday prime rib special and it was a pillowy and tender medium. Perfect! After the first cut we realized all you needed was your fork to devour the rest. The salad was full of veggies and tasted so fresh. Now we are looking for reasons to come back to or through Newberry to eat again at Legends. If we were locals we'd eat here every week. We were so happy with the friendly atmosphere, the great food and Jeff's hospitality. If you want top quality food and friendly service stop by Legends Streakhouse. You will love it! Legends is a must in Newberry. We came for drinks and apps and returned with family for dinner. Everything we tried was excellent & homemade. We had fresh mozzarella sticks with homemade marinara, potato skins that were crispy like we enjoy with full slices of bacon, Nashville hot pretzels, fresh salads, Philly cheese steaks with steak tips, smash burger, pasta, steak. We were in town for a concert at the Opera House and stumbled upon this place. My husband wanted to watch the Vikings football game and it wasn't easy to find on tv. Food was very subpar. Steak was cooked fine but not seasoned at all. Steakfries were cold when arrived at table. Potato skins were alright. Owner? Manager? While he seems personable, he came by the table did not introduce himself but thanked us for coming in. Seemed like a random guy until he went outside then back in and went behind the bar and hung around. Received flatware that had dried food on the knife, things happen but when i alerted the server, he took it back. Manager/owner guy came back with the same knife washed off , still wet and bits of papertowel/napkin stuck in the knife blade. We went for lunch, so I don't know what the atmosphere there is at night. There were candle holders on each table, so I'm sure they lite these at night. Making a cozy ambiance that you can make cozy & romantic or casual. Dress up or casual from what I gathered. I've heard others say before my experience there today that the prices are high. Came in and only one other customer. Server very nice. All other employees sitting at table hanging out. Wife ordered tea and it was bad. So got water. Ordered wings. Didn't have any- heard the cook yell that at the server from our table. Another server flipped off the cook walking into dining room. No one in charge here and it shows. Won't be back. I read some of the other comments about the service. I agree they could use more training. They are doing a number of things right, we thought, as far as cleanliness, quality of food, no blaring music, wanting to please (though not sure how to do it). I'd advise them to take a few tips from the guy who runs/owns George Robert's in Irmo. That place has it down as far as training their servers. I really want this restaurant to succeed. They've only been open since last December and I think they can get it right if they tweak a few things. Food quality was very good. My husband ordered a Philly made with prime rib and it was really delicious. So were the steak fries. My crab cakes were very good. They also get their wines from Enoree River Winery so I like using local vendors. But they ran out of Cab which at a red meat/steak place they should IMO never do! Amazing dinner. It was a busy weekend in Newberry with the College graduation and decided to have dinner here on Mother's Day. The staff was polite and accommodating despite the constant rush of patrons. The owner was always near checking on us and making sure we were happy and fed well. This was a friendly and homey feel. Ok, I just left Legends about an hour ago and here is my honest review...... Myself along with a couple of my Sisters decided to try this new restaurant. Upon entering, we were greeted with smiles by staff as well as the owner. He personally introduced himself and informed us that he was also the owner of Irene's (an Italian restaurant) He was very pleasant. He brought the beat pill out and turned the music up! We were really enjoying ourselves! He began telling us all about the hottest items on the menu. As we were preparing to place our orders, the owner (who kept check on the tables) came by and told us to be sure to leave a 6 star review on Yelp. So as time goes by, we place our orders. While I proceed to place my order, I look at the appetizers and ask the waitress if the ribs were "beef" or "pork" she tells me beef. Being that I don't eat pork (for health reasons) I said great, I'll have an order of the "beef" ribs. I also ordered the shrimp scampi. So my order comes out, I proceed to eat the ribs. I notice that the ribs look different than the beef ribs I'm use to seeing. So I turn around and ask the owner ( who is sitting at a table behind us) I ask him if the ribs are "beef" or "pork" he tells me "they are beef" I ask "are you sure? Because these look like pork ribs" the owner then says, "let me go check with the kitchen" he comes back from the kitchen and says " I'm sorry but they're pork ribs" so I'm like wowwww, ok well I can't eat that. He says well give them to somebody. So I then call the waitress over and tell her since the ribs were pork, I'll just have an order of steak bites. So we're enjoying our meal, and I break out into a sweat ( because of small amount of pork that I just consumed) i don'take a big deal of it, I just asked for a to go plate and my check..... Wellllll I get the check and guess what???? I was charged for Shrimp Scampi $17, Steak Bites $15, SMOKED/FRIED RIBS $18 so with gratuity, my bill was 65.73. I call the waitress over and tell her that I didn't want the ribs because they were pork. So they shouldn't be on my receipt. That's why I ordered the steak bites. She was very sweet by the way but she says ok, I'll take it off. Pleasssseeeee tell me WHY DID THE OWNER COME TO OUR TABLE AND TELL ME THAT HE CAN'T TAKE THE RIBS OFF IF MY RECEIPT!!!!! THAT IT WOULD BE VERY HARD TO DO! HIS WORDS!!!! HE THEN PROCEEDS TO OFFER ME A $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE! WHAT!!???? SO BASIC I WAS MADE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT I DID NOT WANT!!! I EVEN ASKED BEFORE I ORDERED THE RIBS IF THEY WERE BEEF AND THE OWNER TOLD ME YES THEY WERE BEEF..... THE WHOLE TIME THEY WERE PORK AND I WAS MADE TO PAY FOR THEM BECAUSE THE OWNER COULDN'T TAKE IT OFF OF MY RECEIPT. SOOOOOO NEEDLESS TO SAY... I LEFT THE CERTIFICATE ON THE TABLE, PAID FOR THE RIBS AND I'LL NEVER, EVER STEP ANOTHER FOOT INTO LEGEND'S OR IRENE'S IN THIS LIFETIME!!!!!!!!!!!
