We ended up stopping at The Grand around 9/9:30pm on a Saturday. Upon entering the hostess informed us they were currently only serving the late night menu. We said no problem and elected to grab seats at the bar. There were several empty tables and a few empty seats @ the bar. However, the only two seats together at the bar needed to be cleared from the last patrons that were seated. We stood there for over 20 mins while Jacob continued to walk by never acknowledging us or the fact that we couldn't sit. When he finally cleared the dishes he just walked away, never cleaning the area. When he returned he still never greeted us or apologized for the wait, the mess... nothing. Jacob: What are you having? Me: Well hello... Jacob: Yea... what do you want? Me: Wow... ok. For starters can you please whip off the bar so we can properly have a seat. There is still food residue here from the last customers. ** we get a visible huff** He wipes down the bar and we proceed to order drinks, while he never really speak any more it's all via motions and body language. Amongst ourselves we check in with one another to confirm that we both were feeling very unwelcome. Instantly we decide that we will not be ordering anything additional and will be leaving after this one drink. Which is just as well because Jacob never returns. Someone , whom I can only assume was of a mangement status, asked if Jacob was helpful and we promptly and simultaneously said no and that we would like or bill. She shook her head in utter disbelief and disgust but then she also disappeared. Just so happened that Diamond, whom was on the other side of the bar happen to walk pass. She stopped and asked if we were ok after witnessing our frustration. We explained that we wanted the check and why we were leaving. She was super apologetic and closed out our tab. Her energy literal turned the experience around and if she would have came to our rescue sooner we would have considered staying. Thank you Diamond. Just A Note: Unfortunately, bad first impression because The Grand seems like it may offer a good time with the bowling lanes in the back.

Nicely located off I-20 interstate in a shopping plaza with other businesses. Lots of parking and handicapped parking available, no stairs to climb. The building looked new and nicely decorated inside, greeting area/ check in, the hall was a pretty large event area, it also had a concession area with a stage. I attended the Carolina Hair Expo, the event was small but enough for about approx 20 vendors maybe. The event was really nice for this area, it still kinda new, Im sure yrs to come it will be more vendors. I did purchase a few items for my hair and some jewelry. I would recommend using this venue if I needed a one in the future.

Since we were in the Columbia area, we had to come back! The service here is top-notch, and ALL high end restaurants should take note. Servers and managers are always standing around in the hallway practically waiting to help you, are there to start conversation and make you enjoy your experience. Our waitress constantly came around to check on us. Great work! In Charleston, we got the prime rib and loved it. So, as a result, we got the prime rib again AND loved it again! It was just like how we remembered it; tender and great flavor. Their sides come in large portions (shareable). They do have great mac-and-cheese. It kind of gives us like a Spanish vibe, probably because it consists of a certain spice or Jalapeños (my guess), but that does not make it spicy! All it does is adds complexity to the flavor. For dessert, we shared the cookie skillet. It comes with ice cream on top with chocolate syrup and caramel on the side. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside.. that's how we like it!! I highly recommend you give Halls Chophouse a try. You will not be disappointed!

Our party of four was fairly satisfied with our brunch. Most everyone agreed that the food and…read moreespecially the coffee could've benefited from a higher temperature. The problem with the coffee was the cream. It should probably be served around room temperature. Because the creamer was so cold several of our party had to ask for frequent warm-ups. Our server, Kristen, was very personable, pleasant and accommodating. A couple of us ordered Bellini's and mimosas. My Bellini was just OK. My standards are high, since I've had them in Venice, Italy. The Hall's Bellini was not very tasty and on the watery side. My wife tried to order the sweet potato pancakes, but they were out. So she was disappointed, and ended up with the lavender scented brioche French toast. She thought it was OK but was seeking a stronger flavor. I ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy. I don't order this very often, but there was a good portion of sausage and the flavor of the sausage was enjoyable without being too salty. Our daughter ordered crab cake Eggs Benedict which features a creole sauce. She enjoyed it, but the temperature of the dish could have been hotter. Our niece's daughter had the farmers omelette with the apple sage sausage. The apple-sage sausages were excellent (I got to sample one) and a very good deal. The ambience of Halls is always great. The service is usually quite good and the food is usually excellent. This is our second brunch at Halls and I'll have to say that our first brunch experience was a little bit better for the reasons noted above. I still rate it the best brunch in town.

Not sure about the music selection, as we dove right into scanning the menu and enjoying the options. We had the Japanese fried chicken (3.5/6) and the Prosciutto Wrapped Fontina (6/6) would definitely order again as it was delicious. We selected the butchers board (6/6) with asparagus & bacon mac and cheese for our sides - medium rare of course. The spread was delicious. We had a mule and a blueberry spritz to accompany the meal. As the sun set, the locations lights seemed to dim as well, ramping up the intimate feel. Server checked in multiple times (her name is Victoria Batte). Ordered crème brûlée for dessert and left stuffed.

We started with the deviled eggs which seemed like they didn't even try to add flavor. Only one person in the group ordered steak which was not cooked to the order, and was completely unevenly prepared. Two people in the group ordered the burger which were ordered as medium and came overly well done. The prices are the only high end items on the menu. I have no problem paying for a decent meal, however the Chophouse of Chapin needs to address the food quality. I would advise to go elsewhere for your dinner plans.

I really commend the quality of service that was provided throughout our entire dining experience. I was really impressed. They bring a very cute butterfly fruit plate for kids, which I thought was really beautiful and very on target. We tried the Japanese fried chicken appetizer with the sauce on the side. They came in chicken nugget form, and they were really good with a very subtle flavor and fairly crispy. The wedge salad was also tasty along with the garlic bread. The cocktails are AMAZING -- seriously some of the most unique and delicious drinks in the area. They're creative, flavorful, and beautifully made. Nikki, the bartender, is an absolute gem. She is so kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful when I'm feeling indecisive. I can tell her what flavors I'm in the mood for, and she'll make something off-menu that ends up being perfect every time. The fact that she remembers me and my boyfriend even though we've only been 3 or 4 times says so much about the level of care and attention she gives her guests. The food is pretty good overall, but for us it doesn't quite match the price point. That said, we happily sit at the bar because the drinks and service make it completely worth it. If you're going, grab a seat at the bar and let Nikki take care of you -- you won't regret it!
