I don't know if they really ever so sales The Lego store at Tysons is on the first floor near the food court, and we dropped by while we were doing some holiday shopping. The displays are impressive and pretty, like the new cat with the Santa hat, festive. I was curious to see what Lego sets they had and there's a lot I like, such as HP, animal crossing, flower type ones that look like they'd go in a vase, and exotic cars which is perfect for my bro (he likes those types of Legos). I liked the Lego wall art like the Mona Lisa and Starry Night, debating if I want to come back and grab one! The associates are friendly and knowledgeable, the reason why I subtracted a star is the prices are usually fairly expensive and I don't know/think they ever do sales. Still need to also check out Lego discovery center at the local Springfield mall! We'll be back again for future Christmas shopping. read more

Been coming here for a long time shopping for my job and this is the first time that we didn't experience good customer service. And unfortunately it was with a "manager", FRANCIS. We regularly make large dollar purchases at this location (we buy sets in large capacity to support programs) and the person who assists us usually will throw in a freebie either based on current promotion, sets purchased or dollar amount spent. Cool. Not a huge driver of our business, but something nice and noticed over our many years of visits. So I asked as we were being rung up today if we qualified for any freebies (doesn't hurt to ask) and she looked through two of our bags and abruptly said no. And I said, with all the money we spend here we don't qualify for anything? (jokingly, but genuinely curious because we have always gotten a small little mini bag or something based on what I mentioned above. We are spending upwards of $3,000 most trips and buy a variety of sets) and she says no again. So I say, where's the manager, (again, in jest because her delivery was very off putting) and she says I'm right here with a smile as if that doesn't make the situation worse. There were just snide comments back to back, but then when she checked the first bag she rang up again (we had five bags full of legos) WE ACTUALLY DID qualify for something and if I hadn't asked we wouldn't have received it. Oh! She also made a comment that she only saw one person with the card when I mentioned how much we spend at the store and how often (referring to our boss, who does in fact control the card, however, as a group we let him know WHERE we'd like to use it :) ). I'm not sure if she thought her delivery was coming across cute or tongue in cheek, but it was actually the opposite and our group was turned off. We will likely move our business to the Springfield location if this is the type of customer service displayed by a "manager". The other people we've interacted with have always been extremely kind so this interaction was disappointing. But I guess being facetious was more important than being professional. Especially when WE DID IN FACT QUALIFY for a "free" item. What a silly hill to die on. read more

We had a terrific experience with this Lego store location. The staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful. They gave the kids an easter egg hunt that came with a small prize which the kids absolutely loved doing. We weren't looking for anything in particular but it was so fun to see all the options Lego has, what's new and changed, etc. read more

Employees, John and Ryan were incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and patient. We found everything we were looking for and then some. My son loves coming here, he's 6 right now and every time we go to Tysons mall we have to come to the Lego store. The employees are great because they will give him the time of day when he talks to them and ask questions about the sets. There is always a good selection of different types of lego sets from star wars to ninjago, etc. They even go the super fancy ones that you can't find at big box stores like Target. Legos are not cheap tho but I've seen them on sale here. read more

Such a fun place. I love the Millennial Falcon, and other big displays of Lego products. One thing they do here, is they hire well. Enthusiastic passionate and knowledgeable Lego fans, always the employees are. That's quite impressive, as is their ability to help people into this addictive hobby. I'll buy a set here occasionally, but usually am picking up ones I need from the loose bulk area. As one can expect, it's located on the first floor of Tysons Center. That means the prices can be higher here. Can't blame them, as they have to pay an exorbitant rent. Some smaller sets have a decent price on them. What I do like, is that here the employees have the hands on knowledge. There are plenty of stores that sell Lego's, but here is where the expertise is. read more

I have extreme anxiety about going to crowded stores, and I'm neurodivergent, so usually this kind of outing would be very overwhelming for me--but not today! They all helped me have such a positive, enjoyable experience and went above and beyond to help me, and I couldn't be more grateful. This store is a gem for Tysons Corner Center. In a mall mostly oriented for adults, this is a great escape for children. There are now two Master Builder-constructed statues in the store, which make for great photo-ops. I try to bring my children to the Lego Store at Tyson's monthly for the free build offered by Lego. The sign up starts the 15th of the month prior to the build and quickly fills up for spots after the workday (5pm and later) so it is advantageous to sign up right away before spots fill. The employees who run the build are great with children, and mine always have a fun time. My children love playing with Legos while I shop the store, making it really convenient to get what I came for. The prices at the Lego store are pretty much the same as everywhere else, sometimes higher depending on sales at Target or on Amazon. However, I love the rewards program offered by shopping directly through Lego. We have gotten a few free small sets, keychains, trading cards, and $5 discounts on my purchases, including the Pick-A-Brick Wall. The one thing that I would change is that I wish there were store-specific pieces, such as a Washington DC minifig t-shirt or something of that nature. read more

Worst customer service ever. I received a LEGO car ($150) as a birthday present with a gift receipt attached. I decided I did not like the item so I went to the store to return the gift and have them refund the price of the item back to the card using the gift receipt. I was told I could not refund the toy, I could only receive store credit without the original receipt and the credit card that was used for the purchase. I tried to get the original receipt but it was throw out. I went back to the store with the credit card that was used, but the store still refused to refund the gift. The asst. store manager stated they had no info in their records, although on the gift receipt there is a number where they can assess all the purchase info. What's the purpose of getting a gift receipt if it cannot be used to refund the purchase. I do not want credit, I wanted to have the item refunded back to the card. $150 is a lot of money to keep as credit. Also there is no mention on the stores refund policy stating that the item cannot be refunded back to the card if only a gift receipt if presented and not the original receipt. The info is all the same on both types of receipts. I would NEVER purchase anything at the over priced store again. read more

I absolutely love the Lego Store and try to make it a point to visit it each time I'm in a major city. So my husband and I stopped over at the one at Tyson's Corner. With the release of the new Star Wars movie they had made a model of the Millennium Falcon. Pretty good work I must say. I did ask if they had any DC mock ups like I had seen elsewhere and was told no but they did have miniatures on display of some of the world's famous landmarks. This store isn't as big as some of the other ones I have visited but they have a great selection for kids and all ages who like to build things. It's a challenge to say the least but it is truly amazing at the ideas they come up with and almost like a jigsaw puzzle you can spend hours working on one of these. Course expect to pay for what you get. They have sets from simple to complex. I like to feel I get my money's worth when I shop here and am always pleased with their offerings. read more

Legos are already awesome but their store and staff makes it even more awesomier... if that's a word. I said/typed it... so it must be a word... Legos are awesomier... dammit IPhone... stop trying to autocorrect it. But I digress. I came in specifically for the Chinese New Year Temple set. The online site said it was sold out at Tyson's, but figured I could just call. James, a store employee checked and found one left. I asked if he could hold it for me if possible and he said of course. When I got there, of course they greet you... such a welcoming feeling... and it's not the creepy forced greetings like at Walmart, but an honest and earnest greeting with a person that seems happy and healthy. James was busy with another customer but Michelle, his coworker helped out and obtained the item and made sure it was what I was looking for. She reminded me of I wish to take the survey that her name was Michelle and also mentioned James. That's teamwork right there... and while I understand retain can be a horrible job, these people here treat each other as a team and I can honestly respect that. read more

If you are in need of a specific set the staff will happily help you out, I thought online customer service would be a pain no matter what and how was l ! I am continually blown away by the excellent customer service at the Tysons Lego store. The employees are passionate and enthusiastic about their product and they love to help customers find exactly what they need. This team goes above and beyond...whether it's feeling the mini-figure blind bags to help me find the characters I need or, most recently, replacing a non-working gift card...I can't say enough good things about Nathan and the team at Tysons. It's no surprise that they're the best store in the chain. Highly recommend for all your brick-building needs! read more

Four and a half stars. Mall parking: Level 1, near Macy's. The staff here are way more helpful than at the Annapolis location, though the space size and content aren't that different. Lots of minifig keychains, okay variety of sets. Phenomenal customer service from all three people I interacted with, one of whom went out of their way to let me know about inventory status. The kids are kindly treated as a priority, but whoever was helping you won't forget to come back afterwards. Checkout line starting to grow? A floater opens up a second register to speed things along. Future savings to be had? Your cheerful cashier lets you know. Very appreciative of the friendly assist this weekend when they were knee-deep in excited children. read more

Do people know about this place?? Why didn't I know about this place?? I attribute any inkling of creativity I have to the big box of incomplete lego sets I had as a child. Lego had fallen out of favor with me in recent years because the sets seem to have become more intricate, with the customized pieces leaving less room for flexibility and creativity in constructing your own designs. What I like about the lego store is that they have a huge wall of lego pieces that you can measure out in deli soup-like containers, instead of restricting yourself to pre-designed sets. We ended up opting for a gas station set for a car-loving five year old's birthday, but I'm looking forward to supplementing with loose pieces to encourage more independent architecture. It's a bit more expensive than I remember them to be, but this is one toy I'd have no qualms about giving to my own child one day. read more

Ahhhh the Lego store!!! I have to hand it to Lego, their toys and parks are high quality and still manufactured in Denmark where they were originally conceptualized. This particular store offers a broad selection of those premium bricks in aesthetically pleasing configurations sold by helpful and courteous sales staff in a family friendly environment. On the weekend the place is wall to wall kids, so if you are an ALE, you may want to go during the week ;-) read more

This store makes kids happy. It's always stocked with the newest Lego sets, and sometimes has cool stuff on sale. It gets pretty crowded on weekends though. It also had a cool 3D screen that can show you what a Lego City line set will look like in 3D. You can fill a cup with lego pieces that you choose if you like to build from scratch as well. read more

Just no. Everything in this store is CRAZY overpriced. The store prices are even more expensive than the prices on the LEGO store website, and they won't honor their own company prices. Don't bother- just order online... preferably not from LEGO. Also- never EVER take a "free gift" with purchase. It makes the entire purchase un-returnable if you lose the crappy keychain that they can't and won't sell/charge for anyway. read more

It's not just hype. Everything here is actually awesome. I hadn't been to a Lego Store in a long time and I actually learned a lot in this one. By visiting here, I learned that Lego now produces just as many adult sets (16+) as they do sets for children. Having never even been able to put together simple building sets properly as a kid, I was in awe at the complexity that Lego puts into their world now. And with the expense of the sets. some over $200.00, this is definitely a hobby that I can't afford. But that's okay since there's more to the store than sets to buy. In various windows throughout the store are builds that various adult "builder" groups in the area have done. And there are, if you can find a space among the little hands (I couldn't), areas to build your own figurine. For those of us not blessed with great hands or building imagination, they carry some cool Lego gear like key chains with figurines. So at least we can fake being true Lego fans. Despite the store being crowded, the hordes of people were very polite and I was surprised how not loud it was. They must have some good soundproofing to absorb the screaming of little kids. I certainly had fun and left whistling that song from The Lego Movie as I strolled through the rest of the mall. It was truly an awesome experience to visit a Lego Store. And I don't say that about many stores in a mall. read more

This store makes me happy, they've got a great selection of legos and always have the newest sets. Its always crowded on the weekends, but they always do a pretty good job of making sure the customers get all the help they need. I only wish they had some of the older sets. read more

I really wanted to give this place a higher rating. I have always and still do love Lego's. I loved the first Lego Movie. My son loves LEGOs! But I guess I don't love this place because it feels a bit cluttered and with an uninspired design. The staff is friendly and professional. There is a decent selection. But holy crap are the big sets expensive. I'm an atypical resident of the DMV. I don't make much money and what disposable income I do have I like to waste on eating out, booze and graphic novels. I wish I could afford those big sets but what are you gonna do? I'd have to apply myself or work hard or something and that sure as hell ain't happening. Anyhow it's fine I guess but if you want any of the really fun products, be ready to drop at least two bills. Oh there's free parking, too. read more

I've loved Legos ever since I was a little kid. This place just brings so much nostalgia and joy to my soul. My eyes lit up as soon as I walked into the store! They have a huge selection, ranging from simple sets for toddlers to advanced expensive sets. They have sections for building your own mini-figures and a place to get bulk amount of Lego bricks. The customer service was exceptional. I was being offered help constantly (but not to the point I was annoyed) and they spoke to me about the Lego VIP Program. Great place to visit, especially for all of us Lego lovers. read more

Absolutely my son's favorite store ever. The staff genuinely seems to love what they do, the kids have a blast. My son particularly loves the back wall where you can buy bricks "a la carte" in 2 different size cups (small for $8.99 and large for $15.99). The staff even gives pointers on how to maximize space (ie how to stack in the cups). Store is always clean, which is shocking to me, as legos seem to multiply and crawl out all our my sons floor each night...maybe we have mutant legos. read more

Great place to bring the kids. Probably the only shop in the world in which you don't have warn your kids about touching anything in the store. Legos are laid out in different corners encouraging your children to go for it and make stuff. Very fun place. read more

Store is awesome. Always packed maybe time for a bigger store. I would like to see some Washington D.C. Specific items even if just little buildables frrom the brick wall. They have these in the NY city stores. Example in NY store have a little box and kids pick about 10 bricks with instructions of the wall and build a Mini Statue of Liberty. read more

My husband and I are avid Lego collectors (mostly the architecture sets) so we have been to a number of their shops. This one is fairly small compared most others and that leads to a lot of kids underfoot when they are playing with the interactive displays. The staff is friendly and maybe overly so. read more

I bought what turned out to be a defective Lego set at the Lego store, and brought it back for a return. The manager, Beau, was completely unhelpful, ineffective and totally baffled by the problem. After 45 minutes, the most I got was the phone number for customer service. Really disappointing performance from such a respected company. read more

Great if you have kids. This store has friendly staff a huge selection of different lego sets, and they always add new pieces to the pick-a-brick wall. The only thing i dont like about this store is that the displays aren't updated frequently but everything is great but they shouldvreally stock up on the keychains more often read more
