This place is definitely not Legoland like in California, if you're kids have been there then they will be sadly disappointed. Age group would be 4-6 year olds between heights of 40" and 60". If you are below 40" you will be severely limited at what activities you can do. There is a playground in the middle of the center that's similar to a discovery zone (if anyone remembers those) but must be 40". They are very strict on too short snd too tall. The playground is also monitored by an employee that won't let your kids out unless she sees that you are nearby. There are three rides similar to what you would find in the kid section at Disneyworld or something. Plenty of stations to build with Legos as well. Enough activities for a long afternoon. Make sure to buy tickets a day ahead of time online to save money. There are also discounts online for kids to get in free. If your expectations aren't to high and you are planning to spend a rainy afternoon or morning here then you won't be disappointed. After reading some bad reviews I was a little worried what to expect, but we had a wonderful time. My children are 2 1/2 and 7 and they had fun the whole time. We arrived about 10 minutes before our 1030 entrance time, got in right on time. It really wasn't crowed, wait times for rides were 5 to 10 minutes. The staff was very helpful and friendly. At one point my son needed a bandaid and they got him right away. The place is on the small side but with small kids I didn't feel like the kids were going to get lost. So I liked that. Some people were complaining about the price but what do you expect, its a tourist attraction. Our visit was on a Wednesday during the summer. So maybe that helped with the crowds. Idk. We really had a nice visit. From our experience here are some helpful tips to make sure you enjoy your day fully. -bring socks for big climbing structures (u can purchase some in the food court for $1) -bring swimsuits, sunscreen, watershoes and towels for outdoor water play. Thanks Legoland for letting me be a kid as an adult. Also, thanks to my niece and nephew for letting me chaperoned them there. Without them, Legoland wouldn't let me in...you know, to keep the creeps out. I don't want to spoil too much, but it's a great place to come if you love Lego or love making your kids happy. There were many activities that adults and kids can to together. Cars, 4D movie, racing, etc...I don't think it's a good idea to have kid's birthday party here since it can be very hard to keep track of all of them. Maybe if you are in a small group of less then 5 people. Speaking of less than 5, I think the appropriate age would at least 3 or 4. Great for both sexes. My niece and nephew loved it. I could see how you wouldn't like this place if you have older kids. It's not huge and the admission price for adults stinks. That being said, on a cold rainy day it's perfect for an unruly toddler! Lots of things to keep the little guy entertained for sure. He loved the Lego pit and play area with a slide. I totally paid too much for a lunch box but it came in a plastic Lego container that we use for toy storage so yay for recycling. Someone lost a kid while we were there and the staff shut the place down for a while. No one in or out until the lost child is found. I was impressed with the way that was handled. Our Washington State grandkids were in town this past week and our grandson Bentley was just dying to go to LEGOLAND. The hotel that the kids were staying at had a discount code so we were able to save some money on our tickets. I purchased our tickets online, and if you book your tickets online at least 24 hours in advance, you'll get the best pricing, children under 2 are free. When you book your tickets, you also choose your entry time. They space out the number of guests entering so everyone has a great experience. We arrived a few minutes before our time slot, stood in a short line, they then take a few fun pics of your party before entering and then we were off. Obviously, there are a ton of things made out of LEGOS. The Dallas skyline including the AAC, the Cowboys and the Texas Rangers are among the designs you'll see. The kids can drive these police cars around a track, ride the Merlin's Apprentice ride, play on the Ninjago experience and a lot more! They also have a 4D movie with additional rain, wind and snow effects that really bring the movie to life and make you feel like you are a part of it! This place is not a amusement park at all. I did have high expectations because it is called Lego land. They do offer military discount so be sure to asks for it military families. For the price I am not sure why parents are being charged as I was a guardian to my children pretty much. I only was able to ride two rides with my children other than that I watched them play the entire time. They have an indoor theater that is 4D and with live water spraying on you. That part was way cool because you were able to have the interaction with the movie that was playing. Not too many exhibits either which I was really shocked because I thought there would be a lot for the kids to do. They do have an outside mini water park for your kids to play and get wet in the sun while having fun there. Their marketing is well played with the Lego store at the exit. Overall it was okay. Definitely not a place for kids who still like Legos but not fully a teen yet. It's more for the younger kids. As an adult you're a guardian watching your children having fun which is great but man I wanted to be a kid again in Lego Land with my kids. I attended the grand opening in 2011 and joined as a member last year. Membership is only $45 (some of the coupon sites run specials for $40), which basically pays for itself after the 2nd visit. I grew up playing with Legos and owe a lot to them (creative juices, problem-solving skills, love of architecture). It is great to see this company/product thriving in the era of video games. As much as us adults may still want to partake of the Lego fun at LDC, be aware that it really is limited to kids. It IS a great way to wear out your little one or spend a rainy-afternoon doing one of their activities. My personal favorite part is the Miniworld, which is a model of many of D/FWs famous sites/attractions (Cowboys Stadium, Ballpark in Arlington, Will Rogers Center, American Airlines Center, Gaylord Texan Hotel, Southfork Ranch). The detail is incredible and it makes me want to go home and build my own models. My 5 year old daughter loves the Princess Play area, which contains some "girl Legos" that they can build with plus a karaoke machine. Boys will probably enjoy building and racing cars right outside the Princess Area. There are also two areas with Duplos for the toddler set to build and play with. There are currently two amusement park rides - a circular flying ride and electric cars that kids get to drive for above 3 minutes. Be aware that the staff is very risk-adverse and WILL remove your kid for break any of the rules (no running, no bumping each other, etc). There is a huge jungle gym that ends with a giant slide. The best thing about it is that there is only one entrance/exit, and the staff is very good about making sure that your kid does not escape without you to pick them up. Be aware that your kid MUST have socks to go in this area. They have a rotation of 4D movies playing, which are really cute. There is a food court and two rooms that can be reserved for birthday parties. The place seems to be pretty accommodating for parties. We last visited Lego Discovery in 2012. I must say they have made vast improvements to the experience. There weren't any rides back then but now there are 4 rides that are complimentary to what they actually have at Lego Land in Florida. I went online to purchased tickets for Legoland & Sea Life Aquarium @ Grapevine, TX separately. The website was not user friendly. I was not aware that your can purchase the tickets as a combo for a discount. When I purchased Sea Life Aquarium @ Grapevine, TX & received my confirmation receipt. It was for Kansas City in Missouri. I called the next morning to Sea Life Aquarium in KC, Missouri, Tom was extremely nice & said he can transfer my tickets to Grapevine. When I get there ask for Cody. If there is any problems, he can refund my tickets. When I arrived to Legoland, I realized you can purchase the combo package for a discount. Once again the website did not have this option. I spoke to the floor manager that was on duty (Alberto) explained to him the entire situation & what had happen. Cody was not in at that moment, Alberto was extremely nice & took care of us. This Legoland is not like the one in San Diego, however it is perfect for my 2 toddlers that is 4 yrs & 2yrs old. My kids had an amazing time & great/awesome customer services. I highly recommend & will refer families & friends to Legoland & Sea Life Aquarium @ Grapevine. I don't think order kids (10 & older) will enjoys this as much as younger kids. I gave this a 4 stars because the Legoland / Sea Life Aquarium website is not user friendly. My husband and I took our 8 year old son here today. What a disappointment! We bought our ticket on line for the 10:15 time slot and arrived a little bit early but still waited till 10:45 to enter. Once we entered we found the Kings quest was out of order for the day. The Lego factory tour was horrible, you couldn't hear the man speaking even with a mic. Over all it was entirely over crowded I have no idea why we had to pay for a time slot! It seemed pointless now. If you was to buy a picture be prepared to wait. They had two young ladies who were working but there system is so slow I waited 30 minutes only to find out the people taking the pictures had given us the people before us in lines picture claim ticket. The did eventually find our pictures but it just added more time to something that anywhere else is pretty fast and easy. Never again will we return no one had fun. read more

I took my 7 year nephew and 5 yr old and 3 yr old niece and we had the best time!!!! We went on a Saturday and got there at 1045 and that was perfect! Not crowded and the kids could run around and do pretty much anything they wanted without a line. We stayed for over three hours and that was just the right amount of time! My 3 yr old was really the only one that wanted to go after 3 hours so we could've stayed longer! That is also the best part, once your in, you can stay as long as you want....no time limit so IMO, it's worth the money. I would like to give 4STARS just because of the awesome photographer/staffer who interjected my husband and I while in line reviewing the price list ($21plus per person) and ask if our son (who is 11months) was the only child we had to enter into the venue. We replied Yes and she told us to NOT WASTE our money because our son would NOT be able to get on ANY RIDE or play in any of the areas at most he could partake in one of the many things to do. Ridiculously expensive for what you get. A big part of this is a lego museum which is very cool, but this place is very small. We did everything and ended up feeling underwhelmed. You also can't leave once you enter which is ridiculous for any family with small children. You pay too much to walk through the place and be done as soon as the first kid needs a break. The outdoor area was also closed even though it was in the 80s and this was not displayed on the website and there was no compensation. It was fun and cool but if I had known before what we were getting, I would at tops pay $15 a person. You don't get any real trinkets and your child will want a lego kit at the end. Even at $15 a person, you're still overpaying ultimately. This trip was $500+ for a family of 5. Had I known, I would have ordered $500 worth of legos and duplex off Amazon and we'd still have legos to play with. read more

He really wanted to use his annual pass that he got when we paid hundreds of dollars for his birthday party there only to be denied because they weren't selling more tickets. I spoke to a manager and explained we just wanted an hour before we had to leave for a movie. They would have happily charged us $50 for 2 adult tickets...for an hour? Really? Thanks but no thanks you mean bastards. I hope I never have to step into that over priced place again in my life. As a tip, the $70 Star Wars sets you can get at Target for just over $50. Was apprehensive about going due to the poor reviews but we figured we should at least check it out and are really glad we did! We bought tickets online the day before for 25% discount, about $15.75 per person + tax. We selected 10AM on a Friday as our time slot. We were about 15 mins late but there were very few people there and we didn't have to wait on line to get in or for the rides. We had a lot of fun (11 year old boy with special needs, 7 year old boy, and 5 year old girl). They loved the rides and the 4D movie. The Friends Karaoke area was closed for servicing and although according to the website the Ninjago Training Center was to open today, that's been delayed so we couldn't check out those 2 attractions. The Cafe has very reasonable prices for a play place (99 cents for bottled water, $2 fountain drinks). The facility was clean and the staff very friendly. All in all, we really enjoyed our visit. It helps to be over 4 yo and 40" to enjoy the rides so I wouldn't recommend it for babies. I think it's great for 4-7 year olds. We stayed for 2.5 hours but my kids could've easily played for 3-4 hours here. Around 11:30 it started to get crowded. First: Don't come here expecting it to be Legoland. It isn't. It is a Lego themed playland with some other fun things to do. There's a 4D movie theater that's fun for little kids, and three rides. Second: This is not fun for teens or adults. You come here for your kids, not for you. You take them to the park to watch them play, and it's the same here. There's a cafe, plenty of building areas, a playland (like McDonald's but much cooler), and the rides are extremely brief but fun for little ones. The 4 stars are because this place needs some maintenance. The first ride in the door is a moving shooting gallery (think Toy Story Mania). It doesn't work on any of the screens, only the targets on the walls. The flash went off indicating your picture was taken but we were told the photos weren't working so that was a bummer. The wizard ride squeaks. My suggestion: Buy the $15 entry, unless you want to go to the aquarium. You're not really missing anything from the more expensive entrance and the mini Lego set you get isn't worth the extra $20. If you want to occupy your kids for half a day indoors and escape the heat, then splurge and just pay for the full experience with the aquarium (which my almost 4yr old loves), and you can end with the water pad. Also, I wish someone would've told Me they give you a coupon for $5 admission to the sea life aquarium next door- would've saved us quite a bit- oh well. There are 2 million bricks in this place: of course there will be some on the floor!!! I can't believe people actually complain about that. My kids are 7&8 and had a good time here. The rides are a little cheesy for their ages but they seemed to enjoy it. The theater was neat and the kids really liked that. All the LEGO sculptures were super cool and we enjoyed those. The staff was friendly and made it fun for the kids. The attached store had a good selection with pretty comparable pricing. So since it was his birthday he got to chose something, he had $50 and barely went over by $3. It's a one and done place. The car ride was a joke none of the kids could drive it, including mine. Think this place is over priced but whatever. Since I've been to the real LEGOland I know that's what we will do next. Splash pad was perfect fun for hot day. We visited LEGOLAND this past week and have several concerns. Firstly, the capacity was absolutely unacceptable. I understand it is going to be busy on certain days/peak hours, etc., but it was so overcrowded and I felt it was laughable! Secondly, they ran out of bottled water when it was 108 degrees outside and the line for tap water was so long it was wrapping far outside the little cafe, and you were only permitted one medium water which tasted so bad that I can't believe the health inspector hasn't been called. The kids had a fun time on the rides and looking at the lego builds, and the water outside at the splash area was cold and refreshing. What really left a bad taste in our mouths was the end of our time. You walk through a hallway to exit and there is a gift shop area where you can purchase lego sets and other miscellaneous items. The entirety of the hallway leading to the gift zone plus the entire perimeter of the gift shop was adorned with what is probably literally hundreds of "pride" rainbow flags + trans flags. I have no objections to the LGBTQIA+ community, but for this excessive display at a place geared at toddlers and young children I find it not only unnecessary, but abhorrent. Had we had known these decorations were up like this, we would not have supported this business. Very disappointed. I wish places would just leave any kind of agenda out of their businesses. I'm surprised that there are so many negative reviews. Like with the aquarium, I went into this with pretty low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised and we had a lot of fun. It also probably helped that we came on a weekday and avoided a big crowd. You have to sign up for a time slot when you buy your tickets, so it appears that they do some crowd control on their end as well. There are actually quite a few things that the parents are allowed to enjoy with the kids. The Kingdom Quest ride is a fun ride with a shooting game component that reminded me of Toy Story Mania at Disney World (but shorter). The "4D" movie was a lot of fun - it had a great mix of excitement and kid-friendly comedy. Our 7 year-old laughed hysterically throughout it. I completely nerded out at the "Mini Land." It's an amazing replica of DFW and people familiar with the area will appreciate the detail they put into it. There are also areas to simply sit and play with Legos. A few things are kids-only though such as a car-driving police-themed ride and a play area. We spent a few hours here. On top of the hour or so at the aquarium, it made for a fun afternoon as a family. Given the types of attractions offered, I would say this is more oriented toward school-age children. A very young child such as a toddler probably won't be able to enjoy much (and I've noticed some of the negative reviews were parents of children around that age). Our 7 year-old had a blast though and can't wait to come back. And if you're enough of a kid at heart, you'll have fun as a parent, too! read more

From the laser shooting game, to driving around in police cars of course made from Legos (lol) , watching a 4D movie where we actually got wet from the find my dinosaur in the movie, to the very end with the Lego store which was a lot cheaper than buying them in Toys "R" Us. My review is only for the store. Yup, after you're done with your tour, you enter a Lego store. I had one Lego associate stand by me as I was ripping apart the bin with stuffed animals. I wanted to see how high I could stack the Lego blocks. I was hoping to reach the ceiling. I got to about 6+ ft and some of the plush animals looked like they were about to fall out so I stopped and walked away. They have a life size Dirk Nowitzki Lego figure and some other cool sets on display. It's definitely a wonderful place and i look forward to coming back. Other than the girl staring at me building my tower, I had a great time. Cashier was amazing too! Also, the music they play is uplifting and makes anyone want to whistle along while they shop. My 4 year-old loved it, but it was so dirty. They need to get a cleaning crew to do a deep cleaning. Then the cafe wouldn't let me warm up the cinnamon roll I purchased at their cafe. Said it was against company policy to warm up anything. Really? How about when you warm up a pizza? Then, to top it off, the only sweetener substitute they offered was sweet n low. I was disgusted. If only I was 9 and not 26 at Lego Land. We came with a 12 year old and a 13 year old. I think kids these days do not enjoy stuff like this nowadays unless they are less than 11 because the kids did not enjoy it was much as the little kiddos running around. There's a little ride where you aim for the targets, which was kind of fun, even for someone in their 20's. It rides 5 people max. The people there would split the group according if you have more than 5 or less than 5. They would not make you sit with someone you don't know. Which I thought was thoughtful of the workers. There are some cool things for adults to see as well. There's a whole city of Dallas made with Legos of course. I think it's something one should take their kids once at least. read more

We missed out on the outside exhibit said something about weather. But there was no rain forecasted so not sure what that was about. They seemed to have their cleaning routine down. Being new to Texas one of the attractions we saw was Legoland. When I think of Legoland I think of a huge space, plenty for my child to do and have fun being creative. Despite being told numerous times that it is a waste of money we wanted to go because "HEY ITS LEGOLAND" everyone has different experiences. So going against what locals stated we went for my son's birthday. I was able to purchase tickets online and saw that they offered military discounts but didn't know if they had a code, so I proceeded to actually call the facility to see if there was a code I can use. No luck with the answering service. I have been waiting for about half an hour to get someone on the line so I just hung up. I purchased tickets for my family plus a photo brick wall package because I just love capturing memories and it would be a great souvenir for us to have. Waiting in line wasn't bad at all. When I proceeded to check in, the guy upfront confirmed my order and even my photo package and told us we were good to go. I asked specifically about taking the photos and he stated that I would take the photos inside, which confused me because right beside him was a huge green screen with Legos hanging from the top and lights. But hey I don't work there and maybe for the photo package that I purchased , which again he confirmed, was in a total separate area. So we proceeded to enter the facility. We entered and rode the first ride, excited because my whole family can ride, including my infant baby. It was one where we get to shoot targets. Well after maybe what felt like less than five minutes we were already done with the ride. What a disappointment. Then we of course started walking around, kinda hard to do with a stroller and having all the kids run around, which I expect. But what disappointed me the most was how extremely small this place was. It's like we turned the corner and that was it!!! I could walk around the attraction from the beginning to the end in 5 minutes. My 3 year old son thought it was fun which is great but with the money we spent are you kidding me? Now for my pictures. I was looking for where we would take our pictures. I went to not 1, not 2 but 3 different Lego reps where we go to take our pictures for our photo package and they all lead me to where you purchase the photos. 30 min of waiting in line and the lady told me we take pictures where we had checked in. I was beyond upset at this point. How warm it was in there didn't help either. We took our pictures and went back to the photo spot and come to find out the printer that was going to print our photo package is broken and we would have to wait 6-8 weeks to receive it from an outside source. Let's just say we were done beyond that point. I would not be coming back here. Waste of money and time. I really wanted to like this place despite what locals have said. read more

Cripes. We took our three year old here. Firstly, don't bother bringing your kids unless they're at least four, as they can't do several of the rides or activities. We got our tickets online which saved us from having to stand in one less line once we got there. Some self-important sixteen year old nerdlinger with a t-shirt tucked into his Dockers was screening people as they approached the "Have Tickets" line and turning away people for various reasons. I stood there like a dolt waiting to be similarly dismissed while holding my son's hand until I noticed my wife breaking into the line just past the nerdguard. Well done, woman. The place is disappointingly small, crowded, dark, smelly, and weirdly damp. The Lego constructions are pretty impressive, though they could do with a good dusting and a clean up. The whole place looks like it was wiped down with a greasy rag one night in 2007 and left to fester. Bring hand sanitizer. Rides are meh. Food is insanely overpriced and crappy. The water park outside was the highlight, though it's not worth paying the entrance fee for that. There's a free public splash pad in Allen. Just sayin'. read more

My daughter (6/1st grade) and I had a very fun time! Granted I can see some of the valid concerns re: crowds. We came on a Monday when most schools were in session. Get too many strollers and hyper kids in here and it would be a mess. But get yourself a coupon, leave the strollers in the car, and come during the week. Pricey for what's included. Pretty much paying $27 for your kids to play with legos. Which we have at home already. The lines for the rides are incredibly long. One of the rides was closed the whole time we were here. Hundreds of people everywhere even with limited entrance. Trash and food on the ground near the cafe- that was there the entire time we were here. The smell in the whole place is gross. Tried calling prior to coming. There's no phone number on website and when you call the mall and asked to be connected the number is not available. So there was no way to contact anyone regarding prices and if you need a reservation. Showed up yesterday and of course it was sold out. Purchased tickets online for today. Still bad to wait in line to get in even with reservations. My 7 year old had fun but this will be our last time here. read more

I've been to several Lego lands this was by far the worst. 1 star for the terribly unorganized way they admit people. I came at 12:45 ( with 1:15 tickets). and the line was wrapped twice around the lobby and there's no separate line for people without tickets or online tickets so at 12:45 I'm waiting in a outrageously long and slow line full of people who have 3pm tickets or no tickets. Did not end up making it in until 1:45 with a unhappy cranky two year old after waiting in an hour long line. Then come to find out the splash pad ( the whole reason we came) was closed and had been for weeks but isn't listed as closed anywhere on site nor do they tell you before you go in. The toddler area has nothing compared to the other ones we've been to. Honestly there was really nothing for my 2 year old to do since the splash pad was close. read more

Everything is broken. From the mini city, to the lego car drive, to the save the Dino eggs shooting game, and more I'm sure. The only things nice about it is the lego statues and animals & the outdoor water park. Also, rude children from daycares and summer camps just push over all small children. No adults are watching them, once they're in the building, they're set loose to run a muck. To boot, the amount of cool air inside the facility is very limited. You will sweat without moving. Badly ran facility. I've been to other lego lands...this one is overall bad. read more

Took my son & his friend for his birthday today & we were enjoying ourself until the staff decided to stalk us. Made us feel pressured to leave when they were still over an hour away from closing time. Would follow us from room to room making us extremely uncomfortable. Watching us almost as if they thought we were going to steal something. Ruined the whole experience for us. We walked around the mall for 10-15 minutes and when we past Legoland they had already closed the gates way before closing. Only employee we had a good experience with was the lady at the front & the young guy working the drivable cars. Everyone else was very unprofessional read more

My kids had fun. But i feel for the price it wasn't much. We've been to the one in Florida and this one is no comparison. We did get in with no lines and it wasn't chaos. We did enjoy the rides they did have. The staff was friendly and helpful. read more
