I had the chance to try out Lei's for the first time last weekend and I will DEFINITELY be back. We tried the Hawaiian which is a savory, garlicky, soy type flavor and the Sweet and Spicy which reminded me of a sweet bulgogi type of flavor. Between the two, the winner was the Sweet and Spicy! I will go back just for this!! We took the remaining sauce from the sweet and spicy and poured it into the Hawaiian to let it marinate over night. (Definitely recommend trying this!) I gave a 4/5 rating on this due to the overall experience. Walking in the door, the first thing I thought was "damn it's hot in here" which isn't something I would associate with a place that serves raw fish. It was very uncomfortable and I couldn't wait to get back outside. The service was decently quick and the person working was friendly. An insanely delicious, AUTHENTIC, and decently priced meal. My only complaint is the distance from my house. There are a lot of vacant suites at 345 W 100th, in front of Cabella's off King St :) Usually I'm not one for raw fish, but this place changed my mind! The serving size made me feel full, but not to the point where I needed a nap; I left feeling satisfied. Huge chunks of fresh fish served with a scoop of rice and edamame, that reminded me of the kind you get at the grocery store in Hawaii. The marinade isn't overwhelmingly salty like other places up here either; the onions in it were perfectly crisp. Each bite is texturally pleasing. 5/5 will be back. read more

I've been meaning to review this place for awhile. This place has the best poke in town! Very fresh, with a great variety of flavors and types. You can get a poke bowl (edamame, poke, and rice for $10) or buy poke by the pound. Don't forget your frequent purchase cards - buy 10 poke bowls, get one free. They also carry a variety of items from Hawaii, including North Shore Goodies coconut peanut butter, and lilikoi and guava jams and syrups. They freshly fly up treats like cream puffs or guava rolls on Fridays. They also have hot food on Fridays for lunch, but go early - it sells out quickly. I am giving 4 stars for now. I took my 7 year old great niece for shave ice and no luck. She asked for ice cream and I spent 10 minutes telling her how great shave ice is. She got all excited and we headed for this place. Their machine was broken. They have ordered a new one. Disappointed kid but these things happen. We will try again. Super sad I'm from Hawaii and live in Fairbanks . Visited Wasilla for the weekend and drove all the way to anchorage so I could get my poke fix but when I got there they weren't open even though it says they open at 12. Stopped in here on whim, a little take-away place that sells surf shop-esque clothes, some hawaiian sauces and novelty hawaiian dried/packaged goods and beverages. The menu is maybe 6 or 7 items. Simple. But sooooo good. I got the Hawaiian bowl and the woman in the shop said they had run out of Edamame that day so she gave me extra tuna. It was 10 dollars even and about a pound of food- maybe a little more. I will be back and reccomend for sure. read more
