Hi, I recently got a hair cut and highlights by Meagan. She was amazing. So patient and talented. Just with the way she was holding the scissors I could make out that she was going to be good. She did the exact cut I showed her( which is rare). The highlights were done amazing. And hello she knew how to not pull your scalp and blow dry. If I hadn't already been through enough w/my hair by going to Bravo hair salon and dealing with a quote unquote, Master stylist coloring my hair with Goldwell glaze or rinse. The woman couldn't color hair, then I thought I found a good colorist at Leiden Mitchell. No! She made things worse by basically lying to me about what she did to my hair. Lilly or Lila, shame on you for being a liar. I called in the morning to ask what the heck did she do to my color. The receptionist had to be the go between. She reached out to her and she said she did no lifting only depositing. That's not what I went in there for, I went in their for a color match and after discussing what needed to be done by bringing in a picture and looking at swatches how she too could have gotten it wrong, was beyond me. Deposit? No my color needed to be lifted. Then I come in the afternoon drove 25 min across town to show her in no way what she did was correct. They tried throwing if one stylist wasn't good enough they'd bring another stylist in. All I can say is you aren't kidding me one bit with the game you tried to run on me. There was no way my color was ever going to get to the color that this girl had done. First in the morning it was I deposited color, then when I got there was no I used 20% volume on your hair to lift. No you did not! One thing you never do is tell a person who's used Goldwell on her hair for over 30 yrs and practically can do my own hair. I'm at a point that I wonder if anyone is capable of doing hair correctly. The old master stylist are probably retiring out, leaving a bunch of brain dead stylist behind. What I don't get is why 3 ppl would stand there and say with a few washes my hair was going to be the color I want. No way at all. So no I wouldn't refer anyone to this place. If trust us all you have behind a name, I don't trust these ppl. They did refund my money. I had to go into a salon, where their name is known throughout the USA and probably in other Countries as well. They even said wrong process. It wasn't lifted and they couldn't see where these 3 ppl at Leiden thought that the color was ever going to match the picture or swatches I had chosen. Thanks for the refund, but my hair looked so bad, I would not allow pictures and nor did anyone recognize me when I showed up as my hair was that dark. I guess I'm not one to tolerate being lied to. However I appreciate the fact that they returned my money. It'll take a good 6 or 7 months before my hair can tolerate the color being stripped out and redeposited. read more

I have had a couple of different types of services at this location. I saw two different gals for hair cuts and styling and then saw one lady for nails. My overall rating is 4 stars because the facility is in excellent condition, the decor is modern, tasteful, welcoming and all the gals I saw for hair or nails did a great job. I went today and got my bangs touched up and my hair done and this time specifically requested a stylist. She was awesome and you can tell that she is highly experienced and trained as a hair stylist. She explained to me a lot of things regarding proper cuts and proper way of layering for my hair type and hair density - who knew?! She did an excellent job and then to top it off, she gave me a 20% discount (I'm not sure why, really!), but you can bet your butt I will be seeing her again. As far as the other hair gals I'd seen previously, sadly, they didn't stick out in my mind, but they did a fairly good job.... The only reason the nail lady (Aurora) was memorable was because, though was very accommodating when I had a wedding to go to, I didn't care for the fact that when I accidentally bumped my finger and smudged the polish, she about had a mini fit! Then when she went to touch my toenails to see if they were dry, she smudged them and said "oops.. well, it's not too bad" and left them like that. Bummer I won't be going to her again, but I really like the salon and I am looking forward to see my new sylist again in a few months! read more

I have a couple of horrible experiences with my hair, I drove by the salon and thought I'd stop in. I told the ladies at the front desk about my horror stories and they tried to work me in. However, with my schedule, it didn't work but definitely not from lack of them trying! However, with the holidays and my busy schedule they got me in with Susie, and she called me and reassured me I could trust her talent and skill. I met with her and her assistant and I was in love!!! I finally found a hair professional that is willing to listen and give her professional opinion and do what will look good and is in the best interest of my personal style and best for my hair. I left there with hope for my hair, and a plan of what is yet to come with getting my hair back to a place where I can feel confident and sexy! The building/Location is a tad out of the way, but in an adorable area! Want coffee after a cut? You got it! Nearby restaurants and shops rounds out the area to make for a perfect luxurious day. Building is impeccably clean and well kept. Immediately puts you in a "treat yo' self" mood! I found Alyssa W. when looking for a wedding stylist. She did amazing job. She did a wonderful consultation. I felt like she not only listened to me but also knew what I was thinking! Also super affordable as far as weddings go! Needless to say after that great experience, I decided do exclusively use her from now on. I do haircuts every 6 months and have never had a bad experience! I went in for extensions and color, my stylist was a very nice lady. However, I did not receive the colors I wanted for my hair. My goal was an ombré style with three DIFFERENT shades of purple. The outcome I got was black roots and the same shade of indigo for the rest of my hair. When I asked if we could do a light pink on the ends I was told it would be more difficult to add more colors. At my final appointment i asked if the ends could be lightened to match my goal picture and was told i would just have to wait for the color to fade in it's own. I love my hair and the extensions look awesome, however the color isn't 100% what I want and I paid a lot of money for it. For the money I paid I feel like the stylist should have been more open to what I wanted. I should have three different shades of purple and in reality it's all the same shade. read more

I have been going to this salon since they opened and usually have a great experience, until today that is. I'm the Mother of a 1 year old, I have brought my child to the salon before with no problems but today was different. My child began to cry, I will admit it was a little loud but believe me I was trying every trick in the book calm him and not disrupt those around me. A stylist, whose name I know but will not mention approached my stylist and informed her that "your clients baby is crying and that she needed to do something about it because her client who pays a lot of money to get her hair done did not deserve to have her experience ruined by a crying baby". As a former hair stylist, I understand wanting to create a relaxing environment for my client especially with the prices we charge but I'm also realistic and know that sometimes shit happens that is beyond my control and that when you work in a busy salon with 50 other people things aren't always going to go my way. I now also know as a Mother, that babies cry and unfortunately not always in the privacy of your own home and when it happens you do what you can but you just have to make the best of it if you ever want to leave your house. So instead, I left my appointment today feeling embarrassed, ashamed, and unwelcomed because I didn't have the perfect baby that never cries. I will say that my stylist was amazing and never made me feel bad about my crying child, as a Mother herself she showed compassion for my situation. There were a couple special helpers whose names unfortunately I do not know, but who offered to help distract my child while I finished my hair appointment. So for anyone looking for a new salon you should know up front that this is not a family friendly establishment and unless your child is a quiet little angel at all times they are not welcome at this salon. So get yourself a babysitter before booking an appointment. At least that was how I felt when I left. read more

I love Leidan Mitchell, however I can't attribute it to anything other than my amazing hair stylist Jess Goldman. Jess has been doing my hair for years now. After working in a salon, she knows that I love to change my color and style all the time, and she totally gets me! One day I want to be light the next I want my hair to be dark, and shes okay with it! She has the edge, but also the class! LOVE HER!!! And its like therapy everytime I go. The stylists do rent, so you have to call the stylist or service provider individaully. I do love the salon because it reminds me of Cinderella with the colors. I love that they have wine on hand, and small snacks :) They also have fresh iced tea and lemonade. They have a great selection of Bumble and Bumble products, Kerastise, and some higher end skin care and makeup. Its a great feel in the salon, and from what I can tell everyone there is talented! :) I would definitely recommend. read more

For the past year, I have been coming to Natalie (Susie's assistant) for cuts and color/root touch-ups. I used to color my hair red at home, but I would get so frustrated because it would fade within two weeks! Eventually I decided to get it professional done at a salon, and I have continued to do so ever since. Natalie does an excellent job every time... and I don't trust many people with my hair! She never cuts off more hair than I ask for, she makes my red color look beautifully radiant, and she is respectful and kind but also doesn't talk your ear off. It's a relaxing experience every time. (And she'll get you free coffee, water, or lemonade if you ask!) I highly recommend her. I didn't think getting my hair professionally done would be worth the money, but it definitely is! read more

I had an eyebrow emergency and needed eyebrow wax asap. decided to drop in without any appointment and i waited about 10 minutes. i don't really have any complaints, just a cleanup for the brows. My bf's dentist is in AZ and now my hairstylist is too! I'm really low maintenance, but I do need to get a trim every few months... so after a little frustration with how my previous stylist has been cutting my hair, I figured I'd give someone else a try. Trevor is very affordable at $50 for trim and style. And his chunky, assymetrical style preference fits with my style likes. He is trained in the Toni & Guy fashion, where edgy meets modern. It's been a few weeks since I got the cut and it's growing out great with no need to blowdry or style.... This review is for Jolene (hair) and Monica (makeup). I went there today for my hair and makeup trials for my April wedding. The atmosphere is wonderful. As is the decor. I sat with Jolene for hair first. She looked at my veil and headpiece and the picture I wanted to look like and did exactly that. She was friendly and got everything right! My hair looks awesome and I kept getting compliments all day. I can't wait for this look on the big day. Next I sat with Monica. We talked about what I was looking for and what she does. She does do airbrushing but because I had a peel on my face yesterday, I couldn't really get the airbrushing done. But she was able to my fake lashes and mineral makeup. It looks great. Between the two, I look like a beauty queen! The only reason for 4 stars is a little confusion on the appointment scheduling and the price of the trials were high (but close to average in my opinion). read more

This is a nice salon in Chandler. It's very clean and just has a very welcoming decor. I see Mariel for my hair. I've seen her since 2004. I have very curly, difficult hair and for me, she handles it like a charm. I really can't imagine seeing someone else. I've tried well known high profile salons, budget minded "chop shops" and experienced barbers throughout the SE Valley but none truly impressed me. Until now it was hard to say what it was but something was surely lacking. After meeting & experiencing a cut and style by Annabelle I pin pointed what others lack and Annabelle has; "A passion for styling hair and truly listening to people." What really made the difference is she took time (more than the typical minute and a half) to ask questions and listen to how I typically have my hair cut. While keeping well within my style "comfort zone" Annabelle made subtle changes updating my style which allows me to keep a professional look at work but leaves room for some "looser" options for nights or weekends. Nothing crazy but just using different product and styling techniques. She immediately made me feel comfortable and I will absolutely return to her for future cuts. You can spend less or you can spend more, but you won't get a better, more professional (and charming) stylist. read more

My experience with Leidan Mitchell Salon in Chandler was not a good one to say the least. After hours online researching places where I could find someone who cared about skincare and had the experience and knowledge, I was initially impressed by Marissa (one of the aestheticians at this location). So, I booked a consultation appointment and showed up 1/2 hour before the appointment. The salon's website asks that you show up 10-15 minutes before your first scheduled appointment so I knew I was there well in advance. I was checked in by the receptionist who told me to have a seat and that Marissa would be with me shortly. I sat there and waited...and waited. Never being offered a drink like most upscale salon/spas offer. I watched as the receptionist walked back and forth to her station a few times with a water bottle but never bothered to offer the clients waiting a beverage. My appointment time came and out walks Marissa. She asked if I was another person and I told her who I was. She then proceeded to not say another word to me but to walk over to the receptionist station and stood there and chit chatted away with another aesthetician and the receptionist. After 8 minutes past my appointment time, I finally walked up to the receptionist to ask where we were with my appointment. She looked at me with "deer in the headlights" and proceeded to ask me who my appointment was with again (and she's the one who initially checked me in). I told her it was with Marissa who was standing right there as well and then had the audacity to tell me that what time the appointment was for. I told her I understood the appointment time but that it was already 8 minutes after I was scheduled for and she wasn't doing anything but talking with others at the front desk anyway. After her rude and very unprofessional attitude, I told her to never mind that apparently Leidan Mitchell didn't need or want my business and that I would take it elsewhere. After I got in my car, Marissa proceeds to call me to try and apologize. A little too late unfortunately for her. I guess the lesson for Leidan Mitchell and something for them to remember is that salon and spas are a dime a dozen. You can find them on any street corner and they all offer just about the same services. I would think that in this economical climate, no business wants to throw money down the drain or offer terrible customer service; however, I guess Leidan Mitchell is different. What could have been new business for them and potential ongoing revenue is now lost because the staff was just too busy talking about their personal lives with each other to care. I did make a point to contact the owner of the salon who did take the time out to listen and apologized but said it wasn't typically of the Chandler location (it never is) and that there was probably nothing that could be done to rectify the situation (there's always something that can be done). The ironic thing is that on Leidan Mitchell's website on the "About Us" page, the first item addresses the salon's commitment to service. Maybe the Phoenix location is different (and I hope it is) but for those of you looking for a new salon or spa...I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

She is a great stylist and knows her stuff. While I am happy with my current salon, I was looking for a place closer to home. Given the reviews, I figured that Leidan Mitchell was a good choice - I was wrong. I guess my first read flag should have been the fact that the front desk never bothered to inform me who I was seeing when I made my appointment and never asked if I needed someone with a particular skill or area of expertise. When I arrived for my appointment, the front desk was busy chatting with each other and another customer to notice me for several minutes. When I finally approached, they just waved me over to the seating area. I was surprised, I'm used to people taking my name and then informing the stylist I am here, etc. For the prices they charge, I am surprised I wasn't offered a beverage. So I sat and waited and waited. Finally as I was getting ready to approach the desk and doublecheck my appointment, a stylist came up to me and called me by the wrong name and told me she was my stylist. we had to go up to the front desk when she finally got straightened out on my name, and then she proceeded to tell me She had a bridal party booked, and was still not done. At this point she was about 20 mins past my appointment time and couldn't bother to tell me how much longer. She wasn't apologetic either. There was no offer to reschedule or comp me for my time. The girls at the front desk just sat there without saying anything. They never bothered to check on me or tell my that my stylist was running late. I understand the importance of getting you hair done when you are in a bridal party, but this was serious scheduling/time management error. I walked out - I wasn't going to waste my time waiting for a stylist who would probably rush through my cut so she could catch up. Obviously this is a salon that didn't respect my time and made a horrible first impression, as well as having lousy service. I'll stick with my current salon, thank you. read more
