Overall, the experience was kind of the truck norm. No prices, menu all in Spanish, one cook and a money guy. I got the #3 which was 2 pork, cheese and bean pupusa's, rice, beans, and a little spicy slaw. There was 1 lady ahead of me and she basically ordered for her family of 12. So my one order took about 15 minutes to appear. The beans were refried and was full of bean-y goodness -- as you would expect from beans. The slaw was good and refreshing; it had just the right amount of kick to it. The rice, was ricy... nothing special about it. The main attraction was the Pupusa. Overall, it was actually pretty good. It was cooked just right, not greasy, and it had just the right amount of filling to where you have filling in every bite. Pork was ok... it kind of got drowned out by the masa but that's what masa does. It sucks the flavor out of everything. They gave me this red sauce for dipping and it's a pretty watery concoction of tomatos, onion, brown stuff, and what tastes like wine. I"m not sure if it was wine or if it was just sitting out all week and fermented. Either way, it was suspect and, like a trooper, I ate it anyways. Gastronomic mayhem to ensue I suppose. We'll see. Overall, the food was not bad. $6 for the entire plate'o'food. Just be sure to ask for prices before you order.

Why 3 stars? Because I was just so sad about my flavorless chicken…read more --- --- --- I was staying at the Courtyard Marriott and was so excited to see a food truck with 4.8 stars less than a mile away. I had just flown in that day from Houston and I wanted dinner, but I was on central time and ready to go to bed early, so I didn't want to sit down in an actual restaurant. A food truck, not to mention a highly rated food truck was the perfect solution for what I needed. I couldn't resist the NYC Chicken Tikka Masala, because I enjoy all four words of that dish, so what could go wrong? The guy made it for me and handed me this thick boy to-go box, which I promptly walked to my rental car and opened up to see a 10/10 visually appealing heaping meal. And then I took a bite and.... where was the flavor? I took another bite. Same thing. And another. And another. Bland tikka masala?? How does this happen? After I had several bites, I came to the conclusion that it tasted like chicken dipped into water. There was literally no taste to the sauce. Was an ingredient forgotten? Did I come to close to closing time (30 minutes)? I really don't know. I enjoyed the pita bread and the salad concoction, but I will forever be bummed thinking about the alternative places I almost visited before choosing to grab dinner here.

The food was okay, nothing spectacular and I felt it to be a bit flavorless. I had originally stopped here 5+ years ago and had to try it again and we did and I felt the same way as I originally felt about their food. Their service was excellent and they were super friendly

So... Let me start by saying, I love Tacos. I mean who doesn't, right? I love all Tacos, truthfully…read moreespecially vegan or plant-based Tacos. However; occasionally I'll skip my plan-based ways, and give new places a try. I stopped by El Atoron, mainly because I was working in the area, and I was driving by. Once there, I was met by 2 kids, and 1 older, whom I believe was the older brother taking my order. I ordered the Asada, and lengua (tongue) , 3 Tacos in total. The two ladies working the kitchen, automatically asked me if I wanted my tortillas "hechas a mano?" (hand made) tortillas (corn tortillas). which I replied Yes, of coarse-please! The 3 Tacos took a bit longer to make, which I'm totally ok with, and after receiving them, I naturally noticed how these two ladies literally create their Tacos with Love and Passion. You can just see it, promise! The proteins were both cooked exceptionally well, and not over seasoned. I always order my Tacos "con todo" which means with everything, onion, cilantro, and salsa, I ordered green salsa with mine. So, I'll end it with this. I eat a lot of Tacos, everywhere I go, I have to try the local Tacos, some are good, some are great, and once in a while, you get some that just do not make an impact on your findings. Although... and this is big although, I Loved these Tacos so much, I took the time to write a review about them. In my honest opinion, and of course, this is subjective, these are some of the best Tacos in all California just to give them a baseline. I'll be going back more often than not.
