glazed bbq chicken with tumeric rice, garlic noodles, and pickled veggies
    Vincent P.

Gim Belly is a food stand that can be found at many events and festivals throughout the Bay Area. When I saw that they were going to be at this one event I was attending, I was excited to give them a try! I ordered the glazed bbq chicken plate and it was so delicious and full of flavor! I loved everything in the plate and you bet I made sure to finish every last bite. If you see them at an event you're attending, definitely make sure to give them a try!

This Bay Area business was at the right place at the right time! We were here early for the Elk Grove Asian Pacific Culturefest & my wife had been having strong galbi cravings lately. There was another Korean foodie tent but this particular one was one we have had several times before in Sacramento bc my wife had followed them on IG. So instead of going to a brick & mortar Korean restaurant in Sacramento we took advantage! She ordered the Kalbi shortrib plate with cucumber salad no rice as they didn't have that ready but my wife no longer eats rice anyway. They had that order ready in five minutes to go! Yes nicely wrapped and ready to eat! My wife was in Galbi Heaven especially since the entree was still warm when we got home! Woohoo was she happy & satisfied! She even contemplated going back but she said she better not! She kept wavering back & forth in her mind as they were in town for 6 hours but they are known to sell out! Healthwise it was a one shot deal if you know what I mean! LOLOLOL this business' ambiance is clean and organized! Get in my belly foodie food is always satisfying! YES!!!! Yummy goodness...

More like 3.5 Stars. Ordered 2 Combo plates. First combo had St Louis BBQ ribs and Grilled Pork Belly. Second combo was with Garlic Shrimp and Kalb8 Short ribs. Side dishes were garlic noodles and Java rice. Also came with cucumber salad. All of the meats were nicely marinated. The Pork Belly had more of a savory taste with milder flavor. Hint of sweetness and salty but mild enough that the pork taste was still prominent. Layer of fat and leaner meat were in good proportion. Came with a side of dipping sauce. Tasty. The St Louis Ribs also had the same profile of flavor, sweet salty but with hint of vinegar like flavor from the sauce. More sweet than salty. Stronger flavor than the pork belly. Meat was tender. Did not need to use a knife to cut through it. Came with 2 pieces of ribs. Also good. The Kalbi short ribs was sweet salty but with soy sauce flavor. Meat was not as tender as the first two. It had more of a chew to it. Good but not as good as the first two meats. The Garlic Shrimp was just ok. Wish it had a stronger garlic taste. Glad that it's already peeled. The cucumber salad was really good. It's more like pickled cucumber. Perfect side to balance all the meat flavor. The Java Rice was undercooked. Hard and dry. The grains looked like they need more water and cooking time. Garlic noodles was also ok. Needs more garlic but noodles were al dente. On the pricey side especially for the size of serving portions. Took about 20 min to get the food after ordering. Nice friendly staff.

I loved the pork belly and garlic shrimp! The garlic noodles were lacking in garlic flavor but everyone was stopping me to ask where I got my plate from. The entire 2 item plate was $28 so quite pricey

Get In My Belly had a food stand at the North Beach Festival in SF this past weekend, and watching them grill the meats out front, I couldn't resist. Got the grilled pork belly dish with java rice, the portions were perfectly filling, and the bite-sized pork belly pieces were delicious, a bit of fat to add to the taste, juicy, tender, made just right. Service was efficient, hardly any waits, and I appreciated the easy-to-read menu with pictures... not much more I could ask for.

LOVE LOVE LOVE working with GIM Belly!!! Firstly, they are kind, warm, caring people. They bring the smiles non-stop and if they are ever feeling the pressure of running a great meal service, you'd NEVER know. Oh and their galbi ribs - simply the best: flavor, tender and juicy texture, fat/lean balance...none better. The grilled garlic prawns - garlic noodles are the stuff of dreams. First tried them at a food festival and my hubby and I were so impressed, we asked them to cater my non-profit's largest annual gala. Stakes were high as it was our biggest event where for the first time, we were hosting an incredible array of VIPs. GIM Belly knocked it out of the park bases loaded: professionalism, communication, meal service, thoughtfulness and kindness. Firstly they came super early to set up. And the setup - so professional and beautiful. I enclosed a short vid of of part of the food station below. We did not ask for the gorgeous vases of flowers, or the hand rolled (compostable!) utensils or heat lamps to serve meals and keep them warm while Customers waited. They thoughtfully did this themselves. We were wowed before the meal service even started. The food was incredible and you can see all the other photos from other posters on how amazing it is. What I want to share is that consistency is key - every meal is delicious and they exceeded expectations. Additionally they brought the same energy through their staff - equally professional, helpful and kind. Singing GIM Belly's praises is wonderful and working with them is the blessing you need. THANK YOU GIM BELLY TEAM !!! We can't wait to work with you again!

I smelled the food at the Sunset Night Market and knew I need to try this. My friend and I shared the combo plate. We ordered the garlic noodles with garlic shrimp and ribs. They gave us 3 pieces of ribs and 3 pieces of shrimp for $27. Everything was really yummy and it felt so good to eat freshly grilled bbq. The smoke smelled so good and the food was hot (in temperature) instead of the ready made food. Definitely would recommend! I'm so happy I got to try this. Other reviews said they need to buy a ticket at Foodieland to try this!

I got to try this place this weekend at the North Beach festival. I was craving something saucy, and this definitely hit the spot. I got the barbecue chicken with garlic noodles and rice. The garlic noodles were so good and flavorful however, I feel like the rice was lacking in flavor so I didn't eat all of it. They give you a pretty hefty portion as the price is $20, definitely worth trying!

I was able to finally try this food truck at the water lantern festival in San Jose. I got the BBQ chicken with Garlic Noodles and it was really good! The food came out quick, the bowl had an impressive portion, and the person that took my order was super friendly! Would definitely try this food truck again.

I came across gim belly bbq at the 626 night market near the great mall. Tried a variety of stuff at the market and gim was the major stand out. This place needs a restaurant!! Because if they had one, i would be back for round 2 the next day ;). Bbq ribs 5/5: not covered in sauce like most bbq ribs but perfectly so. The taste was lighter than most ribs but still more flavorful somehow. Meat was super tender. Garlic shrimp 5/5: shrimp tasted amazing too! Garlic noodles 5/5: dont know how they make these so good but best garlic noodles ive had and im craving for more already. Rice: 4/5 still good, light taste, but mayb not as addicting as everything else.

    Those ribs!

Found out about GIM "Get In My" Belly BBQ from the NorCal Kababayan Community food pop up at Capitol Corridor Amtrak station in Hayward. Various Filipino Food vendors but this one stood out as I love barbecue! Nice, sweet Asian-style glazed ribs that were super tender and flavorful. Next time I'll opt to get the sauce on the side as I'm not one to use a lot of sweet sauces. Will definitely try their other dishes like the Hawaiian garlic shrimp or honey-glazed salmon but for this first try was a solid 4 stars. Food delicious and reasonably priced at $13. Will have to check FB or IG for their next event as they were part of the Fil-Am Bay Area Backyard Movement (fka Fil-Am Bay Area Popup) over the weekend but missed. Definitely a yummy food vendor worth following

Had the opportunity to try GIM Belly at Foodieland in Berkely and it was great! - Jumbo Pork Bun - Garlic Shrimp w/ Garlic Noodles If you love pork buns, you're in for something serious here! The jumbo pork bun is HUGE and fully loaded with savory and moist pork. Every bite is packed with flavor but inside is a real treat as you eat your way to an oozy, perfectly soft-boiled ramen egg that saturates the pork and adds a new depth of flavor. I also love shrimp and their garlic shrimp was on point. Each piece of shrimp was beautifully crusted with so much garlic and the flavor was awesome! The garlic noodles were a bit milder but that was totally okay with the flavor bomb from the shrimp. Liza and Jojo were very hospitable and kind. Thank you so much for the experience!

The food was lukewarm and it seems it may have been sitting out for a while before they served it. Also it was very pricey for what it was.

Our first visit. 100 miles RT from the East Bay…read more Definitely worth the drive. Celebrating a senior birthday. We arrived @ 5:00 in anticipation of a line as described on Yelp. No Line yet, but after we finished ordering, the line was out the door. For our group of 4 adults we ordered the rack of Beef Dino Ribs plus the large Family Pack (1lb of each meat) Brisket, Pork ribs, chicken. Plus smoked sausage. Sides: potato salad, mac&cheese, Brussel sprouts. Corn bread. Peach cobbler cheesecake, Banana Pudding. Wow !! A lot of food , i wanted enough to take home for Lunch the next day. We placed our order at the counter, then worked our way to the dining area. Food arrived at our table before i was done collecting the sauces, plates, napkins & silverware. Very fast - amazing as the dinning area was nearly full. The Dino bones ( 3 big ribs) was very impressive. Perfectly done. Definitely my favorite. Juices still dripping, very moist. Pork ribs were good. St. Louis cut, so they were a little on the drier side than babybacks. We asked for dark meat on the chicken but received two pieces of breast ( a bit on the dry side). Brisket was perfect, very moist and tender. Smoked sausage was a favorite especially with the Texas sauce. Sauces are the secret for good BBQ ,, as long as the meats are moist. We were with a Good group and out to celebrate a happy event. Everything was good. Desserts were packed to take home. Good service, even the cleanup staff were friendly. Atmosphere was typical w/ televisions entertainment. Noise level was decent to have table conversations. Cost: @ $60 per person Note: the Mini Family pack with the Dino rack would have been enough for our group. The restaurant was clean, trash bins emptied before they were in need. Bathroom was tidy. Yes, we hope to return. We do have good BBQ on the east bay. Our experience at Capelo's was very satisfying, service was great, my wife and our guests would definitely make the trip again for a nice outing.

I like the restaurant setup: a mix of indoor and covered outdoor seating that feels open and inviting. The food, for me, has been mixed. On my first visit I had the brisket and remember it being very fatty -- not my thing, though I know preferences vary on that. This time I went with the chicken sandwich, which I really liked, along with the coleslaw, which was also very good. My biggest complaint is the price. Two sandwiches with coleslaw came to $50 before tip. Factor in the now-standard 18% "guilt tip" (for what's essentially counter service, with food brought out to your table), and you're looking at roughly $30 each for a sandwich and a small side. That's too steep. I get that costs have gone up across the board, but this feels like a stretch.

But I'm here for the breakfast burrito, so I came back as promised. As for the burrito: I'm glad I gave it a try. It's spartan to the core. No frills, no indulgence, no-nonsense, just a hearty meal. At nearly a pound, it's a beast packed with eggs, bacon, and cheese (hold the bell peppers). But the thing was heavily peppered, black peppered. This was a to-go order, and in true no-nonsense fashion, it came with two single-ply napkins. And that's it. Unfortunately, no extra options are available - no avocado, no sour cream, no nada. There's also no salsa inside the burrito or on the side, which left me to pull out the emergency bottle of hot sauce from bottom drawer of my desk. Despite the lack of options, it was filling. No question there. It holds its value, but if it came with fresh salsa and the option for avocado (not guac) or even sour cream, I'd much more likely to be all in. Oh, KUDOS to the cook for cooking the bacon from scratch. It wasn't carcinogenic crispy, but tender and actually delicious! I wish this pit stop the best and think you should try it for yourself to decide. But for me, I feel like my time on this menu has come to an end.

The bacon was overcooked and dry which I should have taken a picture of. The bun used was a sesame seed bun and made a mess every time I grabbed the burger from the seeds on the bun. The burger comes with bbq sauce on it but I chose to add it on the side. The seasoned fries sounded great but was really salty and was one of the worst fries I've had in a while. I had ranch dipping sauce so I dipped there many times to combat the over power seasoning. It did the job to fill my stomach, but I wasn't satisfied.
