Tried Zareen's for dinner and overall it was a really solid spot. The butter chicken curry was rich and flavorful, and the naan came out fresh, soft, and perfectly crispy around the edges. The chicken tikka platter was also very juicy with a nice smoky flavor. Their mango lassi was super refreshing and paired really well with the spices. The place gets pretty busy, so seating and service can feel a little rushed during peak hours, but the food definitely makes up for it. Portions were generous and everything tasted fresh. Would definitely come back to try more dishes next time.

Zareens is a stable in downtown Redwood City. We got two jalapeno cheese naan, one palak gosht, and one chicken tikka masala curry to share among three people, and we were very satisfied by the food. The restaurant can get quite busy and lively, but the wait is usually short and the staff will help you with ordering and refilling water.

Picked up takeout, and to no surprise, it was another satisfying visit. Ordered the chicken tikka masala entree with basmati rice, two garlic naans, and a mango lassi. The tikka masala was amazing, tender, juicy, and full of flavor - the default medium spice was just right for me. The garlic naan paired perfectly with it. It was very chewy it smelled incredible. The mango lassi was creamy, not too sweet, and a nice treat to round out the meal. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, this time very much so in particularly. The ambiance inside is great as well, with cultural décor, hanging plants, and lights, and plenty of seating for downtown RWC. During busy hours, indoor seating can fill up fast, so you might end up outside, but it is not a big deal. Will certainly return whenever I'm in the area.

Zareens already has a great reputation so my expectations were high, but it was delicious! We came for lunch and I tried a chicken tikka masala thali set and shared a cheddar jalapeno naan. It was the perfect amount of food, and the space was airy and open.

Although Zareen's food and staff are top notch, what hasn't changed is the cleanliness of their bathrooms. I wanted to come back more occasionally before I made this review but nothing has improved per visit. Floors are consistently wet and same are the toilets. Please consider having physical towels along with the air dryer because even the dryers look super dirty with stains on them. They also seem to have a fly problem in the seating area towards the back near the bathrooms. We have to consistently swat them away while we eat which takes away from the experience of being able to enjoy the food. The food here is still amazing and I happily pay toll to eat here, but the cleanliness can use some attention and I hope its taken seriously.

One of the best chicken tikka masala that I've ever had! Zareen's chicken tikka is unique because the chicken breast meat itself is well marinated, seasoned, and grilled/seared before being added to the delicious curry base. It has a nice spicy grill flavor that you can actually taste through the curry sauce, which sets it apart from other chicken tikka masalas in which the chicken breast is generally boiled/cooked in the sauce and lacks flavor outside of it. They actually sell their grilled chicken separately as a plate, which I have yet to try but I'm sure is delicious. I also appreciate how the meal is served in a large portion with daal, a refreshing cucumber/chickpea/tomato salad, rice, and the option to switch rice to naan or add naan to the order. The naan is a good balance of crispy and fluffy, and is the perfect addition to your order. I'd love to return to try their other dishes but if you're in the Redwood City Area, highly recommend stopping just for Zareen's! There is also plentiful seating in a modern, trendy space along with outdoor seating at picnic style tables. And bring friends so you can try more dishes! Also for Kaiser RWC employees, it's the perfect place to grab a quick weekday lunch, and you'll have plenty leftover after too! Dishes recommended: Chicken tikka masala, and mango lassi. Add naan or replace the basmati rice with naan.

Meh. Cold food, frisbee like roof tile called naan and paneer that could have been firm tofu Not sure why it's vaunted as much as it is, the naan was cold and the same consistency as the aluminum serving dish. Chicken bhoti was good, lamb was cold, paneer was rubbery. Meh

This is a great option for a somewhat quick but sit down restaurant with extremely good food! The layout of the restaurant allows for large groups, small groups and both indoor and outdoor seating which is very nice! The food is absolutely delicious with tons of options and authentic taste! The service is very quick for such high quality food! I would definitely recommend giving Zareen's a try!

My first time going to Zareen's I'm so amazed. They truly deserve the spot on the Michelin guide. We had their Tikka Masala and the Lamb Gosht, both were really good, but if I had to pick one thing to order? The Tikka Masala for sure. The chicken they put inside is even charred which adds another depth of flavor. It was so good paired with their fluffy and warm garlic naan. We also got their mango lassi, for me it was too sweet, I wish it was a little more tangy. Nonetheless, I will definitely be coming back frequently to pick up dinner!

Everything is extremely tasty and just right. Even the little sauces, they can be kinda lame, was made very nicely. It shows there's care even with a high throughput place like this. Service is good, attentive. They also have an outside spot and they didn't forget about us. Definitely check it out.

Tried the lamb gosh thali and added a naan as well. The naan was a little hard but it was super busy so can't complain about it. The lamb is delicious, rice was full of flavor.

Went to Zareen's in Redwood City and really liked it. You order at the counter first and then find a table inside or outside. The vibe feels very family-oriented and relaxed. Nothing fancy, just busy in a good way and comfortable. We ordered the garlic naan, beef chapli kebab sizzler, chicken tikka masala thali, and the sabri beef nihari. The garlic naan was honestly kind of addictive. We kept reaching for it and it went with everything. So good for scooping up all the sauces. The chapli kebab had a lot of flavor and came out sizzling. The tikka masala thali was a solid option if you want a little variety. The beef nihari was rich and comforting, especially with the naan. Overall just a really good, casual spot. Easy place to come with family or friends when you're craving something flavorful.

First time at Zareen's in redwood city was amazing! I was recommended the thali and it didn't disappoint. The naan was buttery and delicious and the daal was comforting as well. The food came out really fast which was crazy because of how busy it was in there. There was so much seating both indoor and outdoor! 4/5 for the paneer tikka masala - it was a bit too creamy for me. Still tasted amazing though! HIGHLY recommend the mango lassi.

I am following up on a question already answered. To clarify, the chicken is not slaughtered using Zabihah? If not, then, it cannot be called halal. Are any of your other meats also slaughtered using methods other than Zabihah?

Hi is the chicken hand slaughtered?

Chicken is halal but machine slaughtered. Only hand slaughtered chicken is used in our Karahi chicken which is available on Thursdays and Sundays evenings.

Does the chicken tikka have any nuts?

We don't use nuts in any of our dishes except in the desert. We are not a certified nut, gluten or egg free faculty so cannot guarantee cross contamination of allergens.

Are any of your dishes vegan? A family member needs to cut out dairy and butter for healthy reasons.

There certainly are a few vegan items listed in their menu: rice, paratha, salads, fries. Some vegetarian items too: Tarka daal (yellow lentils) and palak methi aloo (spinach, fenugreek, potatoes) which *might* be vegan, but you better confirm. The… Read more

Do they serve just beer and wine or full bar?

Zareen's does not have alcohol. There is a full bar next door you can order from separately and drink outside with your meal.

Do you have outside dining and do you take reservations?

They do have outdoor seating. Not sure about reservations though.

Are there any no onion and no garlic vegetarian options?

Our aloo samosa is a no garlic, no onion vegetarian item. Our Aloo samosa burger is another such item, although there is egg in the burger bun. Our Aloo tikki is an onion free vegetarian item but does have a small amount of garlic.

    Is the naan dairy free?

I am sorry but our naan is not dairy free. Our paratha is dairy free.

Your Yelp page and Grubhub list the veggie samosas as gluten free. The toast tab doesn't say they are. Can you please clarify? Edit to add: Not gluten free. Servers don't care.

Hello. We have contracted Grubhub and Otter and are waiting for them to update the allergen info. I am so sorry we are trying our best to fix the issue.

Usually the options are not very appetizing, so when I saw Aroma House on the list today I was not very hopeful. Nevertheless, I ordered the lamb korma and figured it would be edible and nothing more. I cannot accurately state wrong I was. I was absolutely blown away on the first bite. Not only was it by far the best restaurant my company has ever given us the option to order from, it was without question the best lamb I've ever eaten. The lamb fully melted, just cooked to perfection, and the korma itself was creamy and flavorful, perfectly warm spices without being hot. I also ordered the cheese naan, which on top of being equally flavorful was also huge. This was not only delicious but very helpful because when ordering I did not realize I had to order rice on the side. But that's my fault, not the fault of Aroma House. I will definitely be taking a trip to Redwood City to eat here in person, as well as letting my company know that I would love if they could offer Aroma House as a lunch option again in the future.

He helped us figure out the right amount of food, kept in touch by text, had everything ready right on time, and packaged it really well for us to bring into the classroom. We even increased the order the day before, and they handled it without any issue. We ordered chow mein, momos, naan, and mango lassi, and it ended up being such a great way for the kids to experience a little Nepali cuisine. Since then, my family has ordered from Aroma House twice on our own. We've tried the butter masala with chicken and paneer, samosas, veg biryani, and fire-grilled paneer. Everything has been excellent. At this point, Aroma House is probably our favorite spot in Redwood City for Indian/Nepali takeout. Thank you, Prajwal and Aroma House. We're really happy to have you nearby, and you'll definitely be part of our regular restaurant rotation!

Eylan is a Cal-Indian cuisine, taking a modern spin on traditional Indian dishes. While Indian food can be quite spicy, this place tones it down and helps keep it flavorful and spice-tolerable for people with a low spice tolerance like myself. We came on Memorial Day Monday at 5 pm, but the restaurant was packed by the time we were leaving about 1.5-2h later. The nature of Eylan's menu is family style, so we ordered a mix of vegetarian and meat dishes to share. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious from appetizer to dessert - you cannot go wrong! Most of the dishes have a bit of a char to them, adding to that flavor profile. While I enjoyed everything, my absolute favorite was the Chilled Green Grape Chaas appetizer. It was a fusion dish, combining elements of the Indian snack pani puri with the Indian yogurt drink chaas. Surprisingly, the dish was both refreshing and packed a punch of flavor. That alone would make me want to come back! The interior is very nice and modern, and the service was impeccable. They were attentive throughout the evening, and it made our first experience here quite memorable. All the dishes were at a reasonable price point, even though they were all high quality dishes. I don't typically like samosas because in my mind they should be crisp and not heavy, and they always end up being doughy and hard. These are lighter and crispier than normal and super enjoyable. The dahi puri chaat was so good. I love that everything was packed in separate small containers so that everything stayed crisp - I was most worried that this would be soggy when it arrived. My mom was craving biryani, and this did not disappoint. The rice was tender without being soggy, everything was very flavorful and not too spicy. Someone else noted that the butter chicken was the best they'd ever had and I concur. It's sweet, savory and there's tons of kasuri methi in it to give it the most perfect flavor. They were also very generous with the chicken, so I didn't find myself fishing around in a container full of sauce looking for small pieces of meat. My only complaint about this was that the containers were quite small for the price. Garlic naan was my mom's least favorite thing, but I thought it was great. She prefers her naan to be very fluffy, and I prefer mine to be thinner and more on the crisp/chewy side, which this is. Not a ton of garlic flavor, but enough to add a little something to the butter chicken. I would probably go with plain naan next time though.
