After the FIFA match between Mexico and Ecuador, my boyfriend and I were looking for a spot to grab a beer, and Das Bierhauz was nearby. We usually hit up places around 9 pm, which is past their food service hours, but they were super accommodating and let us in for drinks, which was really nice of them. This spot used to be La Tartine, a charming French cafe known for coffee and pastries. I'm not sure when the change happened, but it's now Das Bierhauz, and it definitely caters to a German crowd. The beer selection was solid, though if you're an IPA fan, you might want to look elsewhere. I really wish I could have tried their food, so I'll definitely have to stop by earlier next time! The service was excellent; our server was great about getting us drinks even after the kitchen closed. The place has a cool, lively vibe with a big TV for sports and plenty of seating, including a spacious bar area where we settled in. Overall, a good spot for a post-game beer!

I don't often eat German food, so this was a neat experience. We came for a later dinner so we got seated immediately. The table behind us was a bit rowdy, but I guess that's supposed to happen when you mix German beer with the World Cup and a bunch of college boys. For starters we got a pretzel to pick at, wiener-schnitzel, German rouladen, and a wurst platte. The potato cakes that calm with the rouladen were surprisingly good, but the rouladen itself was a bit dry - it needed to be drenched in the gravy. Otherwise, everything else was tasty, and it was plenty of food for five adults and a good sampling of German cuisine. I had a great experience here - great spot to watch live sports while eating some decent food. I would love to explore other German spots going forward.

Good service and a wide variety of beers. Yes to a boot beer always! The menu was also a nice spread. We ordered the pork hock for the table which was crispy and tender at the same time. I highly recommend their veal Jaegerschnitzel which has a creamy mushroom sauce and a side of the most delicious spaetzle ever. I've only had ones that were too dry or not flavorful but this one was perfect. I also like their sausages and sauerkraut. Outdoor seating is comfortable and great for families on a sunny day.

Came here for a team on site and had a good time! We ordered a few appetizers and the donor kebab plate. The calamari and the fried brie Cristini were really good. I especially liked the donor kebab plate. It was surprisingly very flavorful and good! Other people seem to have said the burgers were OK though. And of course, the beer was solid. Cute beer garden!

We enjoyed a late-ish lunch here Friday before seeing a movie at the Cinemark across the street. We were greeted warmly and chose a two-top by the window. There were also plenty of tables to sit outside (uncovered). The German beer selection is serious and exciting. I ordered a half litre of Gaffel Kolsh ($8.95), and it was delicious and a great accompaniment to my chicken noodle soup and salad. My friend had a Diet Coke, served cold in the can but with a stein, so that was extra fun. For our lunches, I had the side salad (fresh greens, grape tomatoes, carrots, red onions) dressed with a light vinaigrette (a good value at $3.95). My small bowl of chicken noodle soup ("Schenelle Nodlesuppe") wasn't the heartier soup I was hoping for, but it was absolutely authentic (a bouillon-based chicken noodle with broken, thin spaghetti-like noodles, chopped vegetables, and some diced chicken, $10.95). It did taste good but pretty much like a Campbell's chicken noodle soup with skinnier, more al-dente noodles. Because the description mentioned "spaetzel", I was hoping for the spaetzel dumplings I was familiar with, but it turns out this is perfectly authentic. The soup came with a large "pretzel roll", but it only looked like pretzel on the outside. It just tasted like a white bread roll. My friend ordered the Rueben Panini ($16.95, another good value with the salad and fries included), which would be more accurately described as corned beef on baguette with melted cheese, sauerkraut and a schmear of thousand island-like dressing. Her fries were good and generous portion, along with a generous portion of side salad. Our service could not have been friendlier. She kept our waters filled up and checked on us regularly. Splitting checks is not a problem, and cash or contactless payments are welcome. Clean, airy dining room and large, clean restroom. I would definitely come back here to drink German beer and try more of their fare.

This place opened summer 2024 as a 2nd location in addition to the one in downtown Mountain View, which was nice to see! The co-owners also own other Turkish & Mediterranean restaurants in the Bay. Snack: KASESPAETZLE $10.95 German Spaetzle w/ melted cheese & caramelized onion - spaetzle is housemade, very fresh! Beer: IPA - OFFSHOOT $8.95 (0.5 L) 7.1% AVB - Mango, pineapple, orange, grapefruit, w/ hints of pine & floral Parking is downtown RC so be prepared to pay at the meters until 8pm. (we were there on a Tuesday evening) There is a crane game machine with cute prizes where a couple guys were playing, looked like they were having a good time. Good spot overall - would visit again!

The pretzel and cheese are delicious. We came in on a Sunday so it was pretty empty and service was quick. Good place to drop in for a beer with friends or a date. Best part about this place is the large outside seating that had the traditional German tables.

Conveniently located across from the movie theater - park underground! Stopped in for a casual weekday lunch with a cheeky beer to match. My brother and I really enjoyed our beers, as we wanted something on the lighter side, and felt that the descriptions were accurate. We thought the food was pretty good, but the lentil soup was a little underwhelming/underseasoned. If I came back, I would definitely get the homemade pretzel, and maybe the sauerkraut. One funny thing is... They were playing the most depressing music known to man! I'm talking Skinny Love, 2012 indie era, sad music! Made it a little bit hard to enjoy my food when I just wanted to burst into tears.

Food: - 4.5/5: Schweinshaxen: Available Fri-Sun only. It's better as leftovers; after a day or two in the fridge, the flavors get better. - 4.6: Kasespaetzle: nice snap to the noodles, good sauce. - 3.0: Potato dumplings. Skippable. Beer: - 3.5: Dunkel Weltenburger beer. Dark brown, but not as good as Sam Smith's Ale.

Fun place for some good German food. Nice convenient location with lots of outdoor seating. It was too sunny for us, so we ate inside by the window. The sausages on the Wurst platter were excellent, the German potato salad was good not great (he's used to homemade) and the sauerkraut was good cured cabbage also good. The Kasespatzlee Gratin was really good with the carmelized onions but very rich. The pretzel was only ok. We would definitely go back.

Went here and fell in love. It's across from the movie theatre so look for parking in the garage or outside lots. Flights are 3 beers but larger pours, the pretzel is smaller, and you must get the cheese with it. Also ordered the Currywurst with Pork and the Jager-Schnitzel with Veal. Both were amazing but the Jager-Shnitzel stole the show. From the creamy mushroom to dipping the Pretzel bread into the jam. We had to get to go boxes to stop from filling our bellies. Looking forward to trying more of the menu. Staff was very friendly, the restaurant has ample seating inside and outdoors.

A great spot for some beer. We walked in last Friday evening, and were seated right away. They have a good selection of beers on tap that they serve in 0.5 liter and 1 liter sizes, and a few non alcoholic bottled beers as well. All beers were served in chilled glasses which was much appreciated in the warm weather. The vibe is relaxed and good to unwind with friends. Will look forward to returning to sample their food next time!

    Weiner WIENER SCHNITZEL VEAL

I searched for a brewery with food and Das Bierhauz came up. I looked at the food menu and Weiner Schnitzel sounded amazing, so I checked it out. I walked in a sat at the bar. The bartender gave me a beer and food menu. I looked at the beer menu and realized that it wasn't a brewery, rather a Bierhauz with many taps from different German style breweries. I had an amber ale and a doppelbock. Both were good but the doppelbock was a little sweeter than what I prefer, but still good. I wanted the bock but the keg blew while he was pouring and he didn't have another available. He did give me the small pour and I drank it..totally bummed because it was my favorite of the beers I tried! The place is quite big with plenty of bar, outdoor and indoor seating. The food was quite good too. I ordered the veal wiener schnitzel and it came with spaetzel and a mushroom gravy. The spaetzel with gravy was heavenly! The veal was good, but a little tougher than expected. Overall I had a good meal with good beer. I'll go back!

We arrived at about 1:00-1:30 and the inside main dining area was already closed to patrons as staff prepared for the evening service. The host's tone did not encourage potential customers to dine there during the transition to dinner prep. Not a great first impression that gave off a late arrival so you'll get what's leftover vibe which was exacerbated by being forgotten for what seemed to be a half hour before our waitperson came to take our order. We chose to sit in the front sidewalk patio which was cold and windy not an alternate choice we will need to make again. We ended up sitting across from two loud, self-centered, immature, foul-mouthed college grad girls bragging about studying for their masters attempting to appear cultured were distracting everyone on that patio. After we placed our order, we finished up the app and hubbs was furious they forgot about his glass of pinot which arrived without an apology for the delay preceding our plate arrivals. I had the ny strip steak on the breakfast menu which came out perfectly med-well & added cilantro rice which was good although a little sticky not fluffy. Hubbs had the salmon which looked amazing and he enjoyed the mango sauce--the dish just didn't fill him up. Good thing we ordered fresh chips, salsa& guac.--which was very well prepared; the freshest guac I've ever had. It had fresh chopped tomatoes & green chiles all perfectly combined. Our wait person/food server made up for the less than stellar first impression of the host. And the food was flavorful. The ambiance was ruined by the diners across from us and the forgetfulness of taking our orders timely and serving the wine after the appetizer couldn't bring us back from what started out as negative experience. There are many restaurants up & down the bay that we aren't bothered. This wasn't the best reception nor dining experience and we are moving on. We hope it's a lesson and possibly could've just been a bad day for the crew, and unfortunately there is so much competition out there. We highly recommend the food for its freshness and flavor; recommend the salmon dish for its flavor and balance but not for its portion size. And wish this place nothing but the best and to improve where they dropped the ball.

A traditional Irish breakfast must contain Black and White pudding (a ground sausage, oatmeal and spices), Irish sausage (tastes like a banger), Irish bacon (more like thinly sliced ham), eggs. and tomato baked beans. It's delicious! I hope they get more business though! I really like this place!
