Lei's Garden is open daily at 4:00 PM for dinner serving Cantonese, Szechuan, and Polynesian cuisines. The menu offers house specialties such as roast duck, moo shi, pu pu platter and more. There are also 16 combination plates ($7.50-$9.50) on the menu. This remodeled restaurant has a lounge in the front and the step down dining room in the back. The lounge has hardwood floors with a small cocktail bar, table seating, TV and pool table. The casual dining room has ample booth and table seating, Chinese decor, fish tank, and a wooden round table with a small "Buddha statue" which the employees use to eat their meals. They really enjoy their noodles!! The large mirror along the wall makes the dining room seem bigger than it really is. I had dinner here recently. They give you a complementary large pot of hot tea and rolls with hot mustard and sweet & sour sauce. The Hot & Sour Soup is pretty good with a sweet taste. The Beef Teriyaki sticks are very tender and chewy. The Chicken Fingers are white meat chicken in a thick fried batter. The Boneless Spare Ribs are on the fatty side. The Egg Roll (minded cabbage & pork) is decent. The Pork Fried Rice is a dark color (covered in soy sauce). The Szechuan Style Lo Mein can be made mild to spicy, pretty tasty and greasy. For a Chinese restaurant, the service here was actually pretty good and attentive with the older waitress checking up on the meal and several refills on ice water given (the glasses are small). During the pandemic, I feel it's especially important to support local business, but I still can't bring myself to give them a positive review. After having spent close to $40 for takeout, I threw most of it out and would never return. The Orange Beef was large, chewy chunks of beef with little sauce and flavor was lacking. The "szechuan" lo mein was not in the least bit spicy and there was a large puddle of oil at the bottom of the container. Overall, I feel if they didn't have a bar, they would be struggling to stay in business. There are options in the area worth spending the money at. Ordered 5 main dishes & an appetizer via a delivery app. The crab rangoon appetizer was "fine". The quantity of main dishes exceeded all expectations, but the quality and flavor of all of them was extremely disappointing. Somehow, my recent review was deleted. But I checked back today, a couple weeks later as I'm enjoying Gourmet Panda's Chinese food from Hudson, NH to make sure no one ever goes here again. I've ordered from over 50 Chinese places over the last 25 years. This was by far the worst food I've ever had, chinese or not. It was unpalatable and inedible. I wish it had no flavor. That would have been much better than the rancid, putrid taste all of their food had. I beg you, please never go here. I'm appalled I wasn't sick the next day but I certainly was sick to my stomach trying to eat their food. Couldn't come close to finishing it. All the food we ordered had no taste and it tasted old. The shrimp fried rice tasted old and it barely had any shrimp, the beef teriyaki had a slimy glaze to cover up the tough and old meat, the chicken was so hard to eat. Been here many times and I thought I would try to drum up some business here now that Derry Express is closed. Inside has Keno and a small renovated bar. Actually has a great variety of drinks too. Bathroom needs an upgrade though and can smell like sewer. The main room is spacious and clean...usually quiet atmosphere. I always enjoy the large fish tank as well. The owners are polite. They used to have more assistance but I guess times are tough. Last meal wasn't spectacular but Chinese food usually isn't. I was disappointed they didn't serve us bread this time (even if it's usually cold). They do give out hot tea and water though. Good serving size. The rice last time was only lightly glazed so it lacked the flavor it usually has. But the chicken fingers and Boneless spearibs were good and not greasy which is a big plus. It's not perfect but right now it's the best Chinese food the Derry area offers imo. read more

If I could give 0 stars I really would because thats what they deserve. My chicken fingers were completely raw and unedible. The crab Rangoon the middle dough was not cooked all the way. The only thing that was half way decent was the rice. When I called to tell her the problem she was SO rude. Argued with me that the crab Rangoon are supposed to be like that. My boyfriend has been coming here for years and always liked it. Iii found it to be awful, and he agrees that they are going downhill. We usually get marginal takeout but decided to dine in today. There were two patrons in the bar but we were the only ones in the restaurant. Our pu pu platter came out very quickly, which was great, but the food wasn't cooked properly as the chicken was still quite pink. The waitress asked how our meal was within a minute of receiving it and then didn't return to check on us or refill drinks. By this time we were the only patrons there. The food was generally flavorless although not as greasy as with the takeout. I think it's time to find a new place in the area. read more

Tried this place once when we first moved to derry last July and was not pleased. Decided to give it another try tonight. Never again. By far some of the WORST Chinese food we have ever had. This place has been up and down a bit over the years from being slightly above average to below average. Currently I would say they are making improvements and have gotten themselves to solid. The staff is friendly and accommodating but the food isn't quite there yet. Let's start with the positives: They cleaned up whatever that smell was outside. Five years ago getting in the door without vomiting from the garbage water smell was nearly impossible...they fixed that...kudos. The rice is back! I used to love their rice years ago until one day it started having the off taste of propane...they fixed that too...kudos again. Their orange chicken is crisp and flavorful, dumplings are good, beef/chicken teriyaki are good, and their egg rolls are AMAZING. They are a bit greasy, but they are huge and the right ratio of crispy/tender. A+ on the egg rolls. The negatives: The drinks are not special at all but they are not expensive either so take it or leave it. Although getting those cheap drinks means you have to occasionally listen to a bunch of burnt out conservatives hurl racial slurs around once they get too much idiot juice in their gullet. If you can stop yourself from vomiting at their lack of political sourcing and general "dude guy" ranting feel free to have a drink, and if you are one of those guys welcome home. The Rangoon's I loved years ago are dead and gone. Their General Gao is on par with most Chinese food places I've been and by that I mean it's a soulless, bland, mushy mess that I would only serve to my enemies. Overall it's ok read more

My wife and I decided to get takeout from this place based on the reviews here. Some other local places we tried were Dim Sum, (blah) and Chens (much better). We ordered the Seshwan Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, Wings, Terraiki and white rice. The Seshwan Beef tasted awesome, had great flavor, was light on the sauces and the vegetables were very fresh. I'd give them a 4/5. The kung pao chicken was a bit flavor less but still good. I've had a LOT better but not around Derry so I'd give that a 3/5. The chicken wings were awful. They were dry as could be. Any local Derry place I've had them at were better. 2/5 White rice was great, it was the kind that sticks together. 4/5 Terriaki was also good, had a nice flavor, but not the best I've had. 3/5 I took a quick look at the dining room, lot of seats, nothing fancy or anything like that. 3/5. The outside of the place needs some work, you wouldn't think to stop here based on how it looks on the outside. Bottom line is we'd go back, but probably not our first choice. Been going here since I was 2 years old and has always been one of my favorites. They have changed hands a few times, but this meal will be my last from this place. General Gau chicken was disgusting, not even close to what it should taste like, the chicken was old and burnt. I got shrimp egg foo young and the shrimp was freezer burned and the rest was like a bean sprout and onion patty. Crab rangoon is my favorite but when I bit into one I had to spit it out so I didn't vomit. Beef lo mein looked inedible but I tried it anyway, again had to spit it out before vomiting. Just moved here and ordered take out and threw the entire $43 order away. Every dish looked like it had been cooked two weeks ago and heated up in the microwave. General Tso chicken was brown and soggy. The scallops smelled like rancid fish. Not to mention the owners were arguing and yelling at each other in Chinese during the whole pick up process and didn't even say thank you until I did. Will never go back here. read more

The fried rice tasted like white rice soaked in soy sauce. The boneless spareribs were gristly and overcooked. The egg rolls were chewy and filled with mush. Very greasy rolls with undefined flavor, if any. Orange flavored meat dish had zero 'orange' flavor, as it just tasted greasy. It also had no orange sauce. The coating was not fresh nor crispy.
