Lemon Crab is the latest in the cajun-in-a-bag seafood types of restaurants, and luckily it opened here in Hayward, right next to the Pizza Guys. The restaurant itself is small but not cramped, with ample room for about 6 tables of 4 each. Decor is clean and simple, which is nice and inviting. The whole place definitely comes across as a local business, which is a plus in my eyes. My wife and I came for lunch, which is the only time you can order the 2 lbs special. Dinner menu has combos that start at 3 lbs of food, which is quite honestly too much food for us but it may be fine for some. We ordered the lunch special and a Vietnamese coffee. Viet Coffee first because it was the first to be served. It's good, but a bit watery. Truly great Viet coffee requires strong coffee, thick condensed milk, less water and a LOT of ice, which would melt into the drink. The version I received was good enough but could be better. Overall: 4/5 Our entree took a bit longer to come out than I'd expect, but I'm happy to chalk it up to us showing up near opening time and the restaurant is just recently launched. Our shrimp and clams lunch special was actually really impressive. The shrimp was clean and meaty, and the special Lemon Crab sauce that was both garlic-y and appropriately salty / buttery. The clams were especially-impressive because they tasted super fresh(!!). On top of which, Lemon Crab seems to use manila clams, which are far more meaty than typical littleneck clams used in most other cajun boil restaurants. The order was served with a half of a lemon to squeeze into the sauce. The price was very competitive at $27 with a $2 charge for the head-off shrimp. Overall: 5/5 I'm hoping they can improve my very minor gripes, but overall I still think this is a 5 stars restaurant... for Hayward (keep your expectations realistic). In conclusion, Lemon Crab offers exceptional food that is well worth the wait, but be prepared for a lengthy wait time and average customer service. Came here for dinner with my partner. It took a while to get seated but the wait was worth it! We had the fried shrimp basket with garlic fries and I believe one of the specials/combos with the house special sauce (mild). The house special sauce is just so delicious and especially paired with the lemons that they provide you. The seafood was fresh and seasoned beautifully. I loved the snap of the sausages. The fries and fried shrimp were seasoned well and were fried to crispy perfection. The cocktail sauce was perfect to counteract the oiliness of the fried food. I highly recommend the garlic fries as they are truly some of the best garlic fries I have ever had. Crispy, garlicky, buttery. They are divine. I was craving seafood today and I was in the area with some friends. At first it look really sketchy on the outside but looks can be deceiving! I'm glad I give it a try and dine in with my friends. We ordered the combo with lobster and crab to share along with chicken wings, tacos and chowder. I was pretty impressed with the flavors actually! 've been here twice and I have never been disappointed. I have tried the shrimp roll, lobster roll, wings, clam chowder, fried shrimp and fried chicken. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!! I live nearby and always saw this eye-catching pink building after work, assuming it was a hair salon. To my surprise, I later found out it is actually my favorite seafood boil restaurant! I finally decided to step inside and try it out, ordering Combo 1. The service and food delivery were lightning-fast.
