Located near Target in Maryville, TN is a small building with a full parking lot. And la lot of to-go orders. We tried this place out on a whim and it's quite small and enjoyable. The menu is rather small. They offer Thai food and sushi. So if you don't like those two items - this place won't be for you. We opted for sushi when we went. Rolls are mostly small in size and expensive compared to others. The service was great. Staff was friendly. Portions of Thai food looked rather large.

Came for lunch and had the panang chicken curry, one of my favorites. Servers were friendly and prompt as always. Flavors were spot on and it was delicious. My only criticism would be the chicken to peppers ratio. I dare say, this was less than a 3oz protein portion. I should probably shut up and be on my way because my fat ass doesn't need to leave with a full belly anyway.

The sushi was delicious. The dumplings were fantastic. The pad Thai and spicy basil dish not so much. The service was great and the restaurant cute. But if you are used to spicy Thai just go for the sushi.

First time visiting this joint. Unfortunately, this establishment was hands down one of the worst dine in places we have eaten at in a long time. First our waiter was George L and he lacked personality and friendliness, he was just there and occasionally rude. It was almost like we were a bother to him by even showing up. In fact after being greeted by him we should have just got up and left because he set the mood for the experience. The two rolls ordered were fine and so was the spicy red curry, we subbed tofu and it was nothing to complain about, but unfortunately, we have had way better so nothing to brag about. The teriyaki chicken was very odd, it was very flavorless with its chewy, boiled chicken and very watery teriyaki sauce definitely not like any dish we have ever tasted. Same can be said with the spicy squid. It was very chewy, overcooked and the dish as a whole was pretty flavorless. Last is the red curry duck, this was very chewy, almost to the point of being not eatable, which means it was over cooked and once again flavorless.

What a great spot in Maryville for some Thai food. Dining area is small and quiet. You can hear everyone's conversation. the food is good. Our service was really quick. I had the pad se eu with medium spice and it had a kick! Wasn't enough to take the flavor away but enough to clear the sinuses. Noodles were cooked perfectly. Parking is super tight and can fill up quickly and so can the restaurant. Reservations would be helpful for larger parties.

Arrived at the heart of the lunch hour. Restaurant was filled with hungry customers. I was concerned there may be a wait. However, my husband and I was seated quickly and our server was prompt with taking our drink order. I decided on the lunch box special, which consisted of soup, salad, California rolls, steamed rice and sauteed chicken in a curry sauce, which was quite tasty and delicious. My husband chose fried rice with shrimp, his go-to meal at all Asian inspired restaurants. Our sever, checked in on our needs both during the meal and afterwards. I found the service and meal both satisfying.

I got sarong shrimp and ka-proud lamb. Sarong shrimp is just ok, tiny shrimp, nothing special. The Lamb, was really good, i love how juicy and soft the lamb chop was, the sauce has chunk of bell pepper and mushroom and basil to enhance the flavor. You should add some soy sauce if you are a salty-eater like me. I think if they can season the lamb a bit longer then have more flavor in it, will be even better. This dish comes with rice. I tried the roti with blackberry for dessert. Its roti with condense milk and blackberry jam. Good to finish up! Servers are friendly and i got sit very fast. Thank you!!

Love this place. My favorites are the pad Thai, the Nam Sod Salad, and the spicy crunchy tuna roll. All of the tuna I have had there is fantastic though. This is better than Nama in Knoxville in my opinion. read more

I work here mostly for the food. Like spicy? Get a Panang Curry or Drunken Noodles. Prefer sweet and savory? Get a Masaman-Kai or Pad Thai. Want sashimi on the cheap? Come in during lunch and get a Chiraishi Bowl. I love spicy stuff, so I'll put Thai chilis in a custom roll. About 80% of our customers are very regular. I usually offer to eat anything I recommend if a customer doesn't want it, but so far, no takers. (And if you come in to specifically send back a recommendation, I won't even be mad.) read more

We stopped for dinner on a Thursday evening. It was quite busy; obviously a popular spot with the locals. I had Thai tea - my first, and it was delicious. The Pad Thai was very good, as was the Drunken Noodles. I'm not a fan of fish and seaweed so I didn't partake, but two of our party shared a platter of sushi and said it was very good. I don't recall the other two dishes we ordered, but all were fresh, tasty, and decently priced. I'm sure we'll keep it in mind if we're in the area again. read more

Had high hopes given the positive reviews. Unfortunately, was let down by the small portions for Thai entrees, SAUCY Pad Thai, and lack of basil flavor in the spicy basil. To each is own, but I can tell you, I have never had a saucy pad Thai in Thailand. Color, flavor, portion, over cooked shrimp was just off. Bright side, sashimi was delicious and decor is lovely. Hopefully, Lemon Grass takes a look at their reviews and will amend their recipes as needed to give people a more authentic Thai experience. read more

Loved this little place. Went out with a groups of girls for dinner and it was delicious!! We had some sparkling wine a few appetizers and our main entrees. It's a nice fancy restaurant inside and the prices are reasonable. I really love spicy food and I ordered a level 3 on mine and it was just right. Apart from the limited parking in the front it was an overall great place. My friends and I left the place very satisfied. read more

I returned to this restaurant. As instructed, I called hours ahead to request a vegetarian meal. I was served vegetables floating in a curry flavored coconut milk, very very bland. I ordered the green chicken curry for takeout for a family member. They received chicken and only overlooked green pepper in a very thin curry sauce. My miserable vegetarian meal cost $3 more than the curried chicken which was not as described by the menu. I've tried to contact the manager but no one has been around, possibly the problem? There are too many good restaurants to waste your money here. read more

I have been eating here over a decade and still regularly return. My favorite dishes are the yellow curry, pad Thai, tom kha soup, Thai fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, basil rolls, Thai tea, Thai roti (dessert), and mango w sticky rice (dessert). Lemongrass is excellent! Their sushi, in my opinion, is better than the "fancier places" in Knoxville! I love their spring rolls and grouper and chicken teriyaki. The teriyaki is very different than typical but I like it a lot. It is lighter than the thick sticky sauces at other places. The service is quick. I order takeout from her a lot and it's always great. The restaurant is clean, though there is a funky smell in there. Not sure, but it may be to seafood at the sushi bar??? Either way, it's clean and I'm super picky about that so it passes muster with me. Love the staff too. It came be a little pricey, depending on what you order. The sushi is reasonable. But the grouper is $16 ish. And the chicken teriyaki is around $14 ish. I can't really remember. But it's not cheap, but by expensive either. I would def recommend this place! read more

Myself and a small group of friends chose Lemon Grass for a casual Saturday night dinner. We weren't disappointed. The choices were great, the food was delicious and the wine was 1/2 price! Also, the wait staff seemed to be VERY well trained, and our server, Jesse, was no exception. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants authentic Thai food. read more

I ate here once. I ended up apologizing to my employee about the Pad Thai. He had never had Pad Thai and after I kept going on about how I loved it we ate here because it was close to work. It was very watery w/ no taste. The shrimp had not been deveined. I'm not a fan of eating shrimp poo. Maybe their other food is good. I might try the Cedar Bluff location, since all the positive reviews I've gotten is from that location, but I'm sorry Maryville....I will not return to this location. read more

I really enjoyed this meal. Wine was half off, which was an unexpected bonus for a very reasonable check. The portions were just right, the flavors were crafted and memorable, and the ingredients were fresh. This is my favorite Thai restaurant! Best Thai tea, best place to eat Masaman-Kai , I often like to get the Jumbo Shrimp Masaman and my old personal favorite is the Walnut shrimp, the service has been top notch every time I've ever been, ask for the waitress with the ties that vary. read more

This is the best sushi in the area. My boyfriend and i just moved to the area and as a fine dining chef, he was impressed. Sushi says a lot about a restaraunt and theirs is good stuff! Little disappointed here - it came highly recommended, but it was a bit of a let down. The Panang Curry was good, but for $12 was a small dish. We also feature a sushi bar, featuring popular classics such as Spicy Crunchy Tuna, but also offering sashimi platters, traditional nigiri, and custom made rolls as well. Established in 1992.

The founder, Peter Dong, started the business in 1992. Through involvement in community events such as Taste of Blount we have been earning local awards for our sushi and dishes such as our Walnut Shrimp and Grouper. Having established a loyal clientele and consistent quality cuisine, Peter worked close with the founding sushi chef, Sado, to ensure continuous growth and innovative ideas for their customers.

So who was lying... 3 stars is because the waiter was kind. The owner or manager (a woman) WAS NOT KIND. Minus the waiter, I would give it a 1 star. I left him a 25% despite the way we were treated. In the response below, she (the owner) is still calling us liars. She is trying to save face for her company. She is misinformed by her employees. Just be mindful of the less than honest owner of this establishment. If they cheated us, chances are they will cheat you. Buyer beware!!! Customer lost! We WILL NOT return and I'm changing my review to 1 star... because that is the minimum...it doesn't even deserve that.

My wife is Japanese, so even when she thought of ordering the ramen, I asked her to please not be too harsh if theirs wasn't like what she'd get in Kyoto! She liked the broth a lot and there was LOTS of chicken with it. Her biggest issue was that the ramen itself was a bit thick and unlike typical ramen. Still, overall a good soup dish even for her high/unreal standards! Only drinks are bottled drinks (no alcohol). We asked for tap water and got served lukewarm tap water in tiny cups (see in picture). So, four stars means we liked it and would go back. Why not 5 stars? In addition to the above small points, I would add that good/great sandwiches are for some reason I great supply In Maryville! Its hard to beat out some of the places already very well-known for very good sandwiches (start with Foothills Milling Bakery, but I can think of 2-3 other places in the area that are very good). Very solid place but needs more amenities or novel items to get five stars.

I love Lemon Grass, as it's the only good sushi I've found in Maryville. When in Knoxville, I always stop at Nama for a Soy Joy roll or two, but I've found that you can't go wrong if you order one of the large chef's rolls from the separate menu at Lemon Grass. Whether it's the volcano roll, wasabi crawfish roll, candy cane roll, etc.. or just go with the Chef's Choice roll and have him make something custom for you, you can't go wrong! It is not pricey at all for good sushi. And the great thing is, if you bring somebody who is "cheap" with you, they can always order off of the lunchbox menu and get a lot of food for not a lot of price. :) read more

This is by far my favorite place to eat in maryville. The food has always been consistently delicious. The only problem I have is deciding between the sushi and the Thai food because both are amazing. I'm some what of a picky eater so it helps that each dish is prepared fresh and easily customized to my specific tastes. The perfect dinning experience for me is starting with the New York roll followed by the Drunken Noodles and finish with a Thai Rody (a Thai style crape with a sweet sauce and black berry topping). We've been eating here since it opened. I've eaten Thai in New York, D.C., Nashville and Paris! And this is still my fav. We always come when my son Dan is home from school in Murfreesboro. Our go to place for celebration dinners. It is elegant, has a nice wine list, and the service is always perfect. My daughter and I went a few days before Christmas and had soup and sushi...Spicy, crunchy, and we took a lot home. Hillbilly sushi? I also can't even begin to praise the way this place is treating the whole Covid situation. It goes to show how much it really cares for their employees and customers. This is a hidden gem when it comes to restaurants in Maryville. I've had Thai in New York but Lemon Grass's spring rolls are what I use for comparison when judging other Thai Restaurants. I have yet to find any that comes close. read more
