When I asked for the bill he said no, then I made the stupid mistake of saying it slowly and clearly and he laughed at me and said ok and gestured as if to say "I'm not stupid!". I've had better bagels, I've had better coffee but, the setting has charm and the food quality is definitely on the higher end of the scale. The only real drawback was one of the staff spent a good 15 minutes of our meal drying then throwing cutlery into boxes right beside our table. Rather frustrating and ear grating. I didn't realise this place had such great desserts. Lemon Jelly already hits all the right café notes: friendly service, good coffee, great location and atmosphere. But the desserts put it ahead of the dozens of other coffee options surrounding it. I was out of the office and went here for a little break. I have passed it many times before and it has a delicious and pretty extensive looking menu so I thought I would give it a try. I got a Bloody Sunday smoothie and much to my surprise, it was almost room temperature! Very strange, I have never had a problem like that before with a smoothie. Lemon Jelly is like a warm jumper that you keep up for the winter. Then when October comes around you dig it out and it is as cosy, comfortable and warm as you remember it. Now, I'm not saying you should only go here in the winter, only that Lemon Jelly is always a pretty safe bet when you want some good grub for a decent price. The salads here are wonderful, particularly the dressings. The pancakes are great, so much choice (savoury and sweet) and some really nice flavour combos. I got the crepe with the most veggies (Abbey Way) and it was a perfect blend of all the ingredients--not too much of anything. My friend go the Lemon Jelly Special which he also loved and the server made another recommendation (which we did not take but was nice). We both devoured our food in less than 10 minutes (accomplishment because they are quite large). Cookies looked amazing so I got some upon leaving and they were also gone in an instant. Really nice cafe/restaurant, has a good vibe and the food is lovely. They have a decent savory and sweet crepe menu. I had the Sycamore surprise which had feta, spinach and black olives. The feta was really good and the serving was very generous, it came to €7.50. Their Saki tea selection is very good, I had the green rooibos citrus and it was gorgeous, highly recommend it! We were greeted and seated immediately and our waitress was very kind and efficient. I ordered a chicken crepe and it was very flavorful and enough food for a midday meal. Not pleased. I see all the other reviews recommending the crepes. I had a panini. It was bog standard, too small to feed a child and priced like a gourmet burger. My friend had a salad which she enjoyed but they got the order wrong twice so I was finished before she got started. She also felt it was overpriced for what she got. On the whole the place is clean and well dressed so no complaints there. No Irish staff though which is disappointing in the middle of Dublin. Plenty of better places to eat in the area. These guys are all about their crepes, pastries, and omelettes--at least for me. I usually visit this cafe for a late weekend breakfast and they never disappoint. The waiters take real good care of you and are super friendly. I usually dine by myself on weekends and this is one of those restaurants where I feel totally comfortable/at ease doing that. If you'd like something to go with your breakfast they've got a great selection of smoothies, juices, coffee, and tea. I go here once in a while, not because I'm a fan, but because its either somewhere to sit outside, or somewhere to get a table when wanting to meet a friend for a quick lunch. I'm not a fan of thier crepes, plus I am attempting to eat Primally these days, so crepes are out. I always order an omlette. Its not great, but its ok. Instead of toast I get salad. They give like 4 baby leaves of green, 1 ring of an onion slice and 1 slice of tomato. Really.. for almost 10 euro. Yesterday I had tea of the Suki variety and the spout of the teapot was so badly broken and chipped that all I could imagine was hordes of vicious bacteria growing in the pores of the chipped pottery.. I drank 1/2 of it and left the rest after my imagination got the better of me. This is the prime late night spot for sweet stuff on the north side for our group of friends. There's nothing like a nutella-covered crepe and an orange chocolate before going to see a movie around 9pm. They have both sweet and savoury crepes available depending on what you fancy - my personal favourite being the bacon maple madness. They even have a great selection of suki tea if that's your...cup of tea... The place isn't too expensive for what you get and the staff are always really friendly and talkative. Lovely food and lovely staff. I had a savory crepe called Eastern Essex: tandoori chicken with Greek yogurt, shredded lettuce & tomato. My friend had beef/oxtail soup. Our waiter was particularly helpful. He spotted us looking at, and discussing, the deserts on display, one of which was a Marlenka cake. This place is amazing! I went on a weekday, after work, and it was bustling but there's plenty of seats so there was no trouble getting one. The staff are incredibly, genuinely polite and the I really couldn't fault the food. The menu has a good selection of crepes, omelettes, bagels, ciabatta's and salads so choosing what to eat was difficult! I eventually went for the Lemon Jelly special which is a crepe with chicken, cheddar, mozarella and salsa. The portion size was perfect - just enough filling for the crepe without it being too stingy or overstuffed and difficult to eat. I had a chai latte to drink - it was good if a tad bit sweet but the serving size was good (I went for a double) and the spice was just right as well. For just over a tenner, this ended up being a very reasonable and incredibly satisfying meal and I will definitely be coming here again! read more

All the ducks go swimming in the water falalalala falalalala... Anyone remember the song by Lemon Jelly? So what if this influenced my decision to frequent this establishment? Was I singing it in my head as I was going through the door? Yes. May I have had a slightly demented face on me as I was doing so? Most likely. So, as a first timer in Lemon Jelly, I have a few observations. 1) They've got a great theme tune. (I wonder if they know it?!) 2) Nestled away just off Jervis St, Millennium Walk is actually a bit of a little haven. Not unlike a mini Smithfield in the midst of the mad Henry / Jervis St shopping area. 3) The crowd in here ranged from solo dudes moodily drinking their espressos, to groups of students going all out on lunch, and shoppers settling in for a leisurely tea 4) The tea. Oh the tea. Suki Tea from Belfast have won numerous awards for their beverages, from several Great Taste Awards, to winner of Best Sustainable / Environmental Product by IFEX, and boy do they deserve them. I treated myself to the mango version. It was flavourful and piping hot. And comes served on a little wooden board with giant teapot, cup, spoon, sugar etc. It gives the drinking of the tea that sense of occasion that is so often missed out on in Ireland. 5) It is a little noisy in there. Too many shiny surfaces for noise bounce I'm afraid - some texture I think would be good for soakage, and just to make the place that little bit more inviting. 6) The staff are lovely, if a little rushed / not quite as attentive as they could be. Menu is your average typical cafe food. Service was okay, I got my food within 20 minutes but my coffee didn't come for another 5 minutes after that. I ended up finishing my meal and having to sit for 10 more minutes just to wait for my coffee to cool down enough and then drink which was a little annoying but other than that, it was good. read more

Oh Lemon Jelly, the things I expected from you. I had walked past you many a time and thought about going in. When I went this evening, you didn't disappoint. I went in for a post dinner snack at around 7pm. It was fairly busy with lots of people with delicious looking plates of food. The service was fantastic; our waiter was very nice and there was none of that awkwardness there sometimes is about ordering. I had a luscious lemon crepe which was served piping hot. It was a damn fine tasting crepe, nice and soft and not overly cooked. I had a fresh orange juice with it which was refreshing and tasted like sunshine. After, I had some of their suki tea, I went with the Darjeeling. It was good tea and it was presented in a very attractive way on a little wooden board. My boyfriend had a savoury crepe (which was very tasty) which had a generous amount of filling but maybe a little too much cheese. His orange mocha was also really weird with clumps of chocolate just randomly floating on the surface. I felt the lights were a little too bright inside and that there were a few too many clean lines. It could do with being a little more comfortable. The music was also a little too loud for my tastes but hey, it's trying and succeeding in projecting a trendy image. On the whole, I had a nice time here and while there were things that weren't great about it, that's not going to stop me going back to try another of their scrumptious crepes. read more

This was a surprising little gem! Off Jervis, away from the massive amount of tourists shopping nearby, was this cute little shop. They had crepes, sandwiches, salads, and more. The hubby got the lunch special--€9.50 for a large sandwich, soup, and a tea. I got the Lemon House Salad with goat cheese, olives, chicken, rocket/spinach mix, peppers and mustardy vinaigrette.
