I've been going to Lemon Tree for over a year now after bouncing around a few different salons. So happy to have found Brenda! She always does a great job with my color and her cuts are awesome as well. Brenda has taught me to embrace the natural waves that menopause have given me instead of fighting against them! I've been going here for years and have had several excellent cuts. Today, speed was the stylist's preference and I didn't get to have one. I asked for my hair to be cut short with multiple layers. The cut took less than five minutes and not once was I asked if it was to my liking. It's too long and has one layer not multiple as requested. Again, she never asked me once if I was satisfied or if I liked it. I'm so disappointed and pissed off I dropped over $50 on a crappy cut and enough to find another salon. read more

Had the displeasure of popping into this place thinking they know how to cut kids haircuts! Asked if they do they said yes then proceeded to cut. My son's hair seemed very confused at what I wanted, which was a simple short, us trim, and the front a little bit bigger so that I can do a little gel on the top. They absolutely have no idea what they were doing. The hair length was cut in different sizes and she did not know how to even properly cut the front of his hair. Just do a typical clean cut look not only did. I communicate that the hair was in properly cut the staff rudely interrupted and shared their two cents one of them cussed at me and she was not even involved in the haircut the lady that cut my hair just kept huffing and puffing and walking away and just clicking her teeth and just making all these side comments when the manager came, she asked me if you know how I wanted to hear. She was very professional and then the others chimed in and that was when I had it and I had to leave. I told her that I'm very sorry. Never have I been treated this way by any business. I told her that the staff is extremely unprofessional and that I will never step in this place again it was sad because she was the manager was actually understanding and seemed like she actually knew what she was doing. The only thing that I didn't understand is how she could allow her staff to speak to customers this way that I was in shock about. I even asked her are you the manager of this establishment and you're OK with your customers being treated this way by your staff and she just nodded her head as if she can't control them all I could tell you don't ever go here if you need cut for your kids they literally don't know what they're doing read more

Went in as a new client for a blowout and left a "can't wait to come back for another blowout" client. Kelly did an excellent job at washing and conditioning my hair. The blowout was so gentle and relaxing. Can't wait to go back again. read more

I have called several times and they rarely answer the phone! When someone finally answered I wanted to confirm the special that is clearly posted on their website. The girl who answered said they do not participate in this offer. It CLEARLY states their location and the special price for highlights. Guess they don't want my business. read more

Stopped into Lemon Tree today to get my daughter's hair trimmed. There was NO ONE in there. We were literally the only ones there. The woman came out, we told her what we wanted, she went around the corner to ask someone if they could do it. She came back around the corner and told us that we needed to come back in 45 minutes to get a trim because they didn't have any open slots. There were 2 cars in the parking lot, not including ours. I think it's safe to assume that both people working drove there, so they didn't have time for a trim? I guess the sign that advertises "walk ins welcome" is not true. When they were the Cutting Crew we never had an issue. Bad business turning customers away and asking them to return later when they advertise walk ins. Disappointing at best. read more

Kelly has been cutting my 1 year old son's hair since his first haircut and she is FABULOUS. She gives him the exact cut we ask for every time, and she entertains my son while doing so. Through all his twisting, turning and crying (gotta love toddlers), he somehow still ends up with a PERFECT cut every time. We absolutely love her. I am shocked to read the bad recent reviews on here regarding Kelly. She just started at The Lemon Tree this month and shockingly the bad reviews are all within the last 2 weeks, so I have no choice but to believe they are 100% FAKE reviews written by workers from the salon she just left. I have been going too Lemon Tree Salon a few yrs now. I came too Lemon tree because I followed my hair stylist Allison from another salon she was at and where I met her. She is absolutely the best!!!! I have been too many hair stylists over the years before I met her. I am very picky with my hair and have had bad hair styles and non professional hair stylists in my past. I came too Allison as a new client. Since the first day I met her she has went above and beyond for me in every way!!! She is an exceptional hair stylist and person!!!! I wouldn't trade her for the world!!!! She always makes me feel comfortable, and my hair looks incredible!!!! I am so happy after I go get my hair done and look forward too each time I go back! I receive many compliments on my hair style everyday. If you want a unique hair experience and an awesome stylist who's worth the experience get an appointment with Allison I promise you won't be sorry!!!! Went to Lemon Tree in Ledgewood, NJ 2 weeks ago. Had a stylist named Zonia I believe. In the many years I have had my hair done- I have never had such an poor experience. She reprimanded me many times when shampooing and when blow drying - RE: do not move my head. I have been having my hair done for over 30+ years and never had I had such a poor stylist RE: her interaction with her customer. As well, when blow drying my hair she was PULLING very hard with her brush --- my hair is not thick and is shoulder length --I've never experienced such pulling and feeling hair breakage -- once home i see i ended up with MANY broken hair/flyaways to hair. Previous hair cut visits no matter where I went -- NEVER been reprimanded about moving my head OR had pulled hair so hard it hurt or broke hair. Many times I all but fall asleep, while the stylist dries my hair-its relaxing typically. So I have no idea what kind of bad day she was having, but she definitely was taking it out on her customer. I came in for a last minute blow out since this establishment was close. I've gotten multiple blow outs from this franchise in New York and I've always been charged 25-35 bucks depending what I wanted and I've always had great experiences. When I came in immediately the hair stylist said she was going to charge me double for everything because of my length even though I've had the same length for years but I was in such a rush I didn't care so I said okay- I also wanted a glaze.Then she said it would take 45 mins for me to blow out my hair which I should have taken as a red flag because anywhere I've gone it takes at most 20 minutes for a blow out. So I should have known she isn't good at blowing our hair. But once again I just agreed, then she started blowing my hair out and it was honestly the worst blow out I've ever ever received my hair was sooo frizzy it looked like I just air dried my hair it didn't look shiny and every time I tried to move hair she said I was messing it up even though it looked absolutely horrible. I was so shocked/upset I couldn't even say anything. And she charged me a ridiculous amount of money for a horrible blow out. I went home and my friends told me how horrible my hair looked and how I wasted my money and my hair didn't even have any shine so I had to straighten it and ended up getting it blown out on Saturday at a different salon and it looked so fabulous. read more
