I started going to European Wax when they first opened in Denville (a few years ago). I've gone to…read morethe Succasunna location several times as well as taken my teen, who is deathly afraid of pain. There isn't a question they have the best wax, the best tools and the most knowledgable staff. I agree packages are overwhelming and Ive never gotten one. I moved to Florida in October; while there have the most locations in FL, none in my area. I'm in NJ for most of the summer & have been getting all of my favorite stylists to do everything I need. I went to get my hair done with my stylist of 8 years, she is the best. In hopes of killing 2 birds with 1 stone last Thursday, I asked her to do my eyebrows, which she has touched up a few times. Well I want them re shaped and she told me "you have to go to European Wax!" I said I have been and love them but thought she could do it also. She said "honestly salon equipment is not made to redesign or get detailed with waxing. Only EUROPEAN wax has the tools and talent." So she passed up doing a service on me, directed me to take my large tips to someone else, who she believes is the best. When someone who stands to make money on you and easily can, but is honest enough to tell you where to get the best service, how can you not believe it to be true? If the front desk staff isn't professional, address it there or later, otherwise write a bad review, go back to a salon (or worse a nail salon) and get chopped up work, just to spite the staff!? Like I said I've been here SEVERAL TIMES with just about every employee. I get full bikini and eyebrows, my 15 year old gets underarms and eyebrows. I've taken her to the BEST salon in the area and not only is the wax bad, creates patches of red skin that turn into ugly scabs before healing and always ingrown hair. I'd never take her anywhere else. If I want quality, id never go anywhere else. Whatever your excuse, find the right technician for you, if you want something special done the front desk will tell who does what best. This place HAS NOT sprouted into a huge conglomerate in a blink of an eye, for just waxing because of poor service. I think everyone has been in the SERVICE INDUSTRY. Be an adult and ask for what you want. There is no other place that comes close! While I've had Denville front desk be a little snippy (but honestly who cares) my techs have always been wonderful. I have never had a bad experience in Succasunna, and their success speaks volumes. If you care about not getting a hack job, you'll go to EW. I'm just amazed at some of the whinny reviews. Apparently you don't have a good idea of quality waxing and/or you have your eyebrows or whatever waxed the exact same way since the 80's! These people are the best, most professional and trained by the best to get their licenses unlike salons!!! They follow every cleanliness and health precaution; which is another thing ppl should care about! No brainier. Unless you want to pick up the clap getting waxed because the fiercely pretty girls upfront, give you the feeling they have a "tude." I think some women are just intimidated by young pretty girls and maybe they could do better to train them to be more professional, however, no reason to take the time to rip them up in a review!

Jules was very honest, quick and helpful. It was my first time and it for sure wasn't too bad pain…read morewise. She did not put me through the entire wax because I wasn't long enough, so it's very important to follow the guidelines for shaving prior. Thank you Jules for excellent customer service!!

Detailed Account of Negligent Service Formal Complaint…read moreRegarding Negligent Eyebrow Waxing Service and Subsequent Skin Damage Service Performed: Eyebrow Shaping and Waxing Time of Service: April 2025, Esthetician: T. Result: Severe skin damage requiring immediate medical attention, resulting in prolonged physical and professional inconvenience. During the service, I experienced clear indications of improper technique and negligent care: Excessive Heat: The applied beeswax felt excessively hot, indicating an improper temperature setting. Aggressive Removal: The removal of the wax sheet by the esthetician was noticeably aggressive and forceful. Immediate Pain & Acknowledgment: Immediately after the wax removal, I informed the esthetician, Treasure, that the areas above and between my eyebrows were extremely painful. Negligent Aftercare: I questioned whether a proper post-wax cleanser (such as rubbing alcohol) had been used. Treasure confirmed that "No" such cleanser was applied. I was only advised to use a generic ointment and Vitamin E oil. Upon returning home, the painful area above and between my eyebrows became severely red and inflamed. I subsequently confirmed that the skin in these blotches-on both sides above the brow and between the brows-had been physically lifted and removed (skin abrasion/burn). Current State of Injury: The damaged area has progressed from red to pink and is now a noticeable brown/hyperpigmented color. Permanent Damage: The injury to the skin, particularly above the left eyebrow, remains visible even after two professional consultations, indicating permanent damage and a high risk of long-term scarring. Personal and Professional Impact: I have been forced to stay indoors and rigorously avoid all sun exposure to prevent further hyperpigmentation. This has caused significant personal and professional inconvenience, including the cancellation of scheduled appointments. Initial In-Person Follow-Up: I returned to the salon to show the extent of the damage. I spoke with an employee named Emily, who confirmed the owner / manager was unavailable. Broken Financial Commitment: The business owner promised in written format to reimburse all current and future dermatology visit fees related to this injury. However, the owner failed to follow through on this commitment, and all subsequent attempts to contact them regarding payment have been ignored. Lack of Response to Third Party: I filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), but the business owner did not respond to the inquiry at all, demonstrating a profound lack of professionalism and accountability. This incident reflects a severe lapse in professional standards, commitment, and customer care. I have suffered a painful and lasting physical injury, permanent damage to my left eyebrow, and significant inconvenience due to the negligence of the esthetician and the subsequent failure of the business owner to uphold their financial commitment and basic professional responsibility.
