This is a 5 star review based on the restaurant options in Hill City. Ambiance and service: indoor and outdoor seating available. It's right across from the train station so it's a very central location. Our server was new but knowledgeable and friendly. Food: I had a lunch special for $12.99. It was surprisingly good; I didn't expect Lemongrass to delivery on a bbq pork sandwich but they did. The beer cheese soup was thick and creamy. The chicken satay had good flavor but would've benefited from some sort of char. The veggies were sad but rice made up for it. Overall one of the better meals we've had in the area. read more

So we walked in and wanted to sit outside on a semi chilly day but the staff recommended the back patio where they had heaters and it just made it comfortable once the sun wasn't on you. The staff was super helpful and kind. Majority of our party went for the steak fried rice and they loved it. I went with the chicken satays and they were delicious! Peanut sauce mixed with the chicken and white rice just so savory. This was a vacation stop but if ever in the area again we would be stopping! They had a stage so I have a feeling it would be a nice spot with entertainment some nights. read more

Excellent food! Shared the Korean BBQ Tacos and Shrimp Skewers and both were delicious! Smaller menu with lots of shareable items which was fun. Full bar with smaller inside seating area, but much larger outdoor seating available. Too bad we found this place on our last day. Otherwise we would have been back to try more items! My husband and I stayed in Custer for two weeks. For dinner we ate out about six times. Unfortunately we didn't find Lemongrass Bar & Kitchen three days before our departure. I say unfortunately because all of the other meals prior to dining here were MEH! Everything was fresh, great flavor, and very different than what we had been offered and eating at the previous restaurants. Our service was great! We were seated right away and didn't wait long for anything thereafter. Our server was very friendly and took the time to talk with us about the area. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the outdoors and the live music. If you're looking for a healthier meal, this place is a great choice. read more

Visited at 5pm on a Thursday. Started with cocktails even though they had no beer/wine/cocktails list. Had the edamame dumplings as an appetizer which were eh. I had the brisket sandwich and fries. Filling and enjoyable. Only recommendation would be trimming a little more of the fat. My guest had shrimp skewers which included a cup of fried rice and vegetables. The veggies consisted of 2 pieces of broccoli and 5 slices of carrots. Hers was not warm and not as good as my brisket sandwich. Overall fell below expectations. read more

Best place to eat in Hill City if you're looking for an option to burgers or steaks - frankly, it was the best place we ate in Hill City overall. I had the grilled shrimp and it was delicious. The house Chardonnay was a nice surprise as well, much better than any old regular house wine. All meals were very affordable and the staff was so friendly. Highly recommend!! read more

We were there last Saturday night. Every time we visit a place, we always look for a good restaurant that serves delicious food and when it comes to Asian food, we absolutely know what stands out and what not. We ordered spicy chicken wings but it was overloaded with barbecue sauce, spring rolls that was not even crispy and the ground meat had a sour taste, Asian chicken salad that we didn't eat due to too much dressing and very dry grilled chicken and lastly, we had chicken curry that didn't taste like curry at all! The restaurant is real nice as well as the staff but the owner and the cook need to do a lot of "research" on how the real Asian food is prepared and how they should taste. Overall, we were disappointed about our dinner. read more

What a pleasant surprise! We came to Lemongrass because we happened to park next to the restaurant during Sturgis. Since we didn't want compete with the bikers at the bars, we stepped into this charming Asian experience. We ordered a collection of their small plates/appetizers. We didn't expect much because it was Asian in Hill City SD. However, I am a lover of Asian food and have eaten it all over the country. THIS WAS AS GOOD AS ANYTHING I HAVE HAD, including NYC and San Francisco Chinatowns. The Thai Chicken Skewers were a perfect sauce and temp. The Spring Rolls were excellent with a nice sweet spicy sauce. The Asian Tacos were an absolute delight. A good amount of spice heat to the pulled beef, and a great sweet crunch to the remaining ingredients. I was blown away by the flavor and texture of this amazing dish. Finally the Asian Chicken Wings are not your BBW chicken wings. The menu did mention Gangnam Sauce. This was a new sauce for me and I could not believe the bursting flavor, caramelly sweet with the peppery spice coming through the after taste. Do not miss this gem of a restaurant if you are in Hill City SD. This place will not disappoint (unless you were looking for a burger and beer). read more

The food was good so no criticism there. The restaurant was very noisy, however, and when the waitress brought our food, the flies attacked. We had to swat flies during supper. We had hoped for a relaxing meal but that was not to be. Also, I ordered an appetizer which came with my supper. Not the greatest service. We got take out carrot cake which was very good. While visiting the Black Hills we decided to give this place a try. They have a nice outdoor seating area, so we opted for that because we have a dog. I ordered the lemon drop martini which was amazing! There were four of us, so we decided on sharing the tacos, fried spring rolls, chicken skewers, Asian salad, and Asian noodles with shrimp. Everything was absolutely delicious! It was like a party in my mouth! But if I had to choose my favorite thing, it was the Asian tacos. They're spicy, so if you don't like spicy food, you probably won't like them. But I loved them. A total flavor explosion! The service was excellent as well! We loved everything about it! An awesome addition to the Hill City lineup. Their kitchen staff should feel quite proud of their menu. We had the Asian BBQ Street tacos and Stir Fry Noods, both were excellent. Someone had a brisket burger at the table next to us that looked amazing. The bar has a bunch of different wine, spirit, and beer offerings. The ambiance allows for great conversations with friends and strangers to unfold. This was our favorite meal of our weeklong trip to the area. read more
