There is really nothing bad I can say about Lemoni. It is one of my great go-to weekday stops for lunch (or lunch delivery) and with good reason - they are affordable, delicious and quick yet friendly service. My favorites are the salmon burger / panini, the portobello panini and the chicken and spinach panini. Their salads are also hearty and fresh! Lemoni Cafe can really do no wrong. Although I don't come here very often, it's definitely one of my favorite places to grab a sandwich. I've tried a handful of them, and at around $10 the sandwich is a formidable portion (and comes with a side of tasty greens or potato chips to boot), and I've never been disappointed by any of my selections. Two standouts are definitely the smoked salmon with caviar (although beware if you're salt averse!) and the portobellisimo. You also can't go wrong with anything that has goat cheese or sun dried tomato in it. Even though they're mainly a sandwich shop they do two other things really well: soups and smoothies. They usually have a soup of the day and whatever it is ORDER IT. These have been some of the best soups I've ever had. The smoothies are also delicious and original, although a bit on the pricey side (to be fair - smoothies are always kind of expensive regardless of where you buy them). They also have really reasonably priced wines by the glass. One thing that is a little disappointing is dessert. Not because they're not great, but because they often run out of a lot of them. Don't get your hopes up too high on this one. Side note: This is actually one of the best places I think to sit and enjoy a meal alone. It's dark, cozy, quiet, intimate. Lemoni Cafe- I love you because you remind me of California. I can't really tell you why but something about being a small cafe and your decor reminds me of being in LA. The hummus and pita was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered the Friday Special of Salmon on Pita. It was filled with sundried tomato and goat cheese. Delish!! You can never have too much sundried tomato and goat cheese. Although they serve wine this is not my type of happy hour type of place. I WILL be back for all the delish panini's, salads and sandwiches on your menu. read more

I received a Lemoni menu under my door months ago and FINALLY got around to trying it out. Unfortunately I didn't have time to go sit and enjoy, so I called and placed my order. The Lemoni Suprimo Panini. "See you in 20!" the lady on the phone said before handing up. I continued my errands and arrived 30 minutes later, hoping to pay and run to continue my busy day. Soon as I arrived I loved the place! Tiny little cafe with packed for lunch with what looked to be delicious dishes and the place itself had tons of character I had the time to observe while I waited another 30 THIRTY MINUTES for my ONE PANINI. Very disappointing. The lady cashed me out soon as I arrived and said she would bring my food in a minute. Then 10, then I ask, "it will be right out", then 20, then I ask again as I am now hangry and antsy, and a few minutes later someone finally brings me my food and I leave. Now the panini itself.. DELICIOUS! Salivating just thinking about it. However nearly an hour later!? Come on man! Had they communicated with me obviously my first experience would have been different "Sorry ma'am, the chef accidently dropped your food on the floor, rather then dusting if off we're making a new one" or "Your order was taken out to a table, we're terribly sorry. Here is a water and a delicious cupcake you have to stand next to for 30 minutes while you wait. We apologize for the inconvenience." SOMETHING! As I believe in second chances, my food was oh so yummy, and the the venue itself was very sweet, I will happily be trying Lemoni again in the future hoping to add another star :) read more

Well I ordered the greek tuna pannini which was supposed to have feta cheese and black olives. I asked if they could sub the tuna for grilled chicken and this caused mass confusion in the kitchen which delayed our order almost an hour. What they brought was a huge panini with a mixed greens side salad with a very tasty/tangy vinaigrette. So I open the panini.. Grilled chicken- check! Sauteed spinach - ok, i'll take it Avocado - wasn't expecting that mozzarella - ok, ok this is the wrong sandwich. Since our order took so long I decided to just eat it. It was pretty good actually. Our server eventually figured out the mistake. I'm guessing my sandwich was left unclaimed in the kitchen. We were given a free dessert for the trouble which I thought was a very nice way to end our lunch. Overall the panini was good but if I go back I'll hold the substitutions. read more

The first word that came to mind when i decided it was time to review this place was "gem". But I see someone else has already used it, and so I shall have to come up with another word or phrase that conveys the same feeling. Hmm. I've been here a couple of times now, so I can review it with confidence. If the two-visit trend is any indication, I think my head might explode from the goodness next time I go there. The first time, I was rightfully impressed. Decent prices, and some of the freshest food in town combined with a french-italian-bohemian decor adds up to make one mighty enjoyable lunch spot. When I eat here I feel as though I've traveled outside Miami. Think of it as a mini lunch-getaway. The second time, I was even more blown away than the first. The pesto-goat cheese-chicken panini makes your mouther water, and the avocado-tomatosalad leaves you on cloud 9. I'm sure there are healthier variations of that salad, but when I'm there and taking each bite I find myself in disbelief that it can be soo delicious and relatively good for you at the same time. Wow. I love this place so, so, so much. For more than a couple of reasons. All the salads,sandwiches, and dishes have numbers assigned to them, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you could randomly pick numbers out of a hat to make your order and you would NOT be disappointed. I have been going for about 6 months and it is just fantastic... I found it by chance, and how glad. Service is great thanks to the fact that the two owners work there, one is cooking the other is helping customers. Their Mediterranean platter is one of the best I have had in Miami and like everyone else said, all this for such a great price, unbeatable! read more

Called for take out: chicken quesadilla and chicken & bacon quesadilla. Came in, everything is ready, nice staff, easy parking, $24. Deal. Quesadillas are big, filled with cheese and chicken for the chicken quesadilla but also bacon, portobello, spinach, onions and sun dried tomatoes for the chicken & bacon quesadilla. Guacamole and sour cream in the side, the quesadilla is perfectly grilled, chicken breast is delicious and there is a good amount of cheese to tie the ingredients all together. The shell is whole wheat but I wish they would give you the choice between a flour and whole wheat shell. Maybe they do... I wasn't offered that option on the phone. The desserts looked amazing!! I can't wait to try them. The place is cosy and their menu very varied with sandwiches, soups, salads, paninis and other specials. Definitely a great spot for lunch! read more

This place is all about the smoothies. Some of you have experience heaven in your mouth, I was sure I did until my girlfriend introduced the heaven above heaven, which I never new existed... Cute cafe in the Design District. When you walk in, it is cozy with lots of little tables, no tv, and no crazy colors, bright lights, or televisions. It doesn't feel like Miami. They have an extensive menu - paninis, wraps, salads, desserts. I would be impressed if any restaurant had a legal sized menu front and back filled with like 10 point font of options. However, the question is of quality, not quantity, right? My friend told me that everything he's tried here is great. I went with the smoked salmon and caviar panini and salad side. The field greens had a light vinaigrette and was very fresh. The panini came with a generous serving of salmon and a mayonnaise-y spread. Solid. My friend got his favorite, the spicy chicken panini. Another friend ordered the tuna salad salad. I don't remember what it was called, it was literally greens with a half cup of tuna salad. We had a leisurely dinner. Service was attentive, but not smothering, and they let us take our time. They kept my water glass full. I know because I had to go to the restroom before I left, when I got home, and I still didn't sleep through the night without waking up to use the bathroom! The best part was the prices! Pretty much everything is under $12. Also, they accept credit cards. Just be careful with the street parking - a lot of the residential area has become permit-only or something. read more

I went here for lunch yesterday with my hubby & mom. We sat outside & really enjoyed our experience. We started with a barbecued chicken quesadilla, which was very good. The ingredients were very fresh: chicken, fresh guacamole, sauteed barbecued onions, gooey cheese and the surprise was the whole wheat tortilla, which was crisped nicely. I had the smoked salmon pita sandwich. It was so good. The pita was lightly toasted. The smoked salmon went very well with the goat cheese they put in the sandwich. My mom had the pressed chicken salad sandwich. She really liked it. My hubby had the chicken teriyaki sandwich. He thinks his sandwich was the star of the show. The bread was nice and toasty. The sandwich was just good quality over all. The waitress was nice, but the service was a little slow. Everything was clean, even the bathroom. The only reason I took 1 star away is because there are no side options. Everything comes with a salad, which is fine if you want one, but it's too bad for you if you don't. Cute little hole in the wall with delicious grub. Came here with a friend upon his recommendation, and ate like a queen for cheap. A delish French onion soup, chicken zucchini sandwich and key lime pie all for about $15. Free parking in a lot behind the restaurant. Since it's so small and gets pretty busy, the service can be a bit slow, but the waitresses are very amicable, so it was all good. Perfect place for a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch date. read more

Grabbed lunch here with a friend on Friday...neither of us are regulars in the Design District, but we needed a place between our two houses. The food was delicious. She had the portobello panini and I had the Chicken, Goat Cheese, Tomato and Spinach panini. Both were huge and very tasty. My only comment on the food was the 'side salad" probably more qualified as a garnish than a salad...a few pieces of greens a tomato and a slice of onion. I saw some other plate's side salads and they looked more respectable...maybe I got the end of the bowl and the kitchen staff was too lazy to make some more. The atmosphere was as expected- trendy, artsy cafe with prompt service. I appreciated that we are allowed to sit at our table as long as wanted (it was not full- due to massive rain). Overall, great lunch place with very reasonable prices (mostly under $10 for a panini)...I will be back. :) read more

Heard great things about Lemoni Cafe, decided to head that way one day and instead ended up at their pizza place right next door (Lemoni Pizza Kitchen). The food was amazing, had a delicious goat cheese and truffle appetizer and a fresh margherita pizza. Service wasn't bad, but there was only 1 server (small place) and she kept running back and forth between restaurants, in the rain, quite frankly, I felt terrible for her. Fast forward a couple of months: ordered delivery to my place, quick service, pizza was okay, Papa Johns would have done the job. I figured their delivery service just needed help, so I decided to try again.... Called on a Saturday evening 4 times! Got put on hold 4 times! For greater than 5 minutes EACH TIME! Finally, my bf calls and the man tells him that they are short staffed to please order through yelp. Not a problem! I completely understood and actually felt bad for calling so much. Log onto yelp and guess what? They don't "deliver" to my address?!?1? I have ordered from here before! I can ride my bike there for crying out loud. Very dissappointed. Not sure if i wish to give this place another try, definitely NOT through delivery. read more

Now I dunno if I was hungry when I went there but the Lamb I had was so good that I didn't even offer any samples to my friends. OMG, It was cooked just right. I've lost count of how many times I've been here. The food is amazing. There are delicious (and filling) options for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. I always get the three bean salad as a side. It's out of control. I've had the cold veggie wrap as well as the hot veggie wrap, both were very flavorful. My fiancé got a cheeseburger and loved it. You have to try the melted brie bites! Yum! As far as ambiance, I'd say it's the perfect place for a low-key date or for sharing a bottle of wine with your bestie. :) There are two reasons why I'm not giving this place that I LOVE 5 stars: 1) the parking situation is annoying (you have to call someone to let you in and out of the gate, which takes a while) and 2) the staff has been rude on multiple occasions. Since I moved from San Francisco to Miami, I constantly missed eating at small, family cafes. Thank goodness for Lemoni! Not only the food is really yummi, ( I love their chicken quesadillas) the service is superb... Kudos to Asia and Eugenia for always treating me so good when I go. I have been to Lemoni a few times before and recently recommended it to a client. Having coming from a very busy day & not wanting to deal with Miami Traffic, I thought of Lemoni, as it's a nice little quaint place and always the food was good. I guess I was on a off night... the 2 female waitresses were not very friendly. I sat down & ordered a hot coffee, apparently one waitress does speak a lot of English, and I could see the other waitress making me an iced coffee, I was so drained by the day, I let it go as I wanted a hot coffee. Ordered split pea soup & quiche (which was wonderful the last time & I let a client know), the soup was good, yet not great, could have been hotter, received a disappointing quiche, that was obviously microwaved (cold outside,hot inside) not flaky, just kind of mushy & kept taking the hard broccoli pieces out of my mouth, yuck!! It came with a side salad, which I was not informed about ...& was loaded with dressing, asked to have another salad with dressing on the side, again not very friendly. When the food is just Ok, but the waitress(es) are nice and happy, I would give a restaurant another chance, but when you are in a atmosphere with the music too loud & not happy people, think I will not be coming back...called my client & told her 'about that review that I gave you, scratch that!'. read more

Small hole in the hall cafe, tacky decor (Moroccan lamps mixed with modern lamps, really?), ugly color of paint on the walls, small location, and very casual, but before we move on to the food, let me point out you that if you're looking to impress or dress up, this isn't the place. You go here in shorts and t-shirts. Now, for the food. Many of the PetSmart Banfield hospital folks eat here in their scrubs, and they have plenty of other choices in MidTown. Their food makes up for everything you may find wrong with this place. It is heavily seasoned, which I love, rather than boring, bland typical cafe food. They have great summer specials now that give you 2-3 items for less than $8, can't beat that. I had the cream of mushroom and garden delight salad for $6.95, and added chicken for $3 extra. The cream of mushroom was fresh, and very tasty, not made from a can. It had chunks of mushrooms and spinach leaves. My salad was full of fresh veggies, like carrots, cucumber, olives, green peppers, and tomatoes, and it was well-seasoned. The chicken, well, I don't know what spices they put in it but it was delicious, and a decent-sized portion. I was full for about 7 hours, so the portions are pretty generous. My friend ordered a wrap, and it was huge, although a bit dry, but asking for a small cup full of dressing helped solve that in no time. The service on this particular day was pretty bad, but I don't blame the girl; it's the manager who is to blame. She was overwhelmed filling orders, re-filling empty glasses, bringing orders, and greeting people. One person for about 13 tables is pretty outrageous. The manager needs to hire more people, especially on a friggin' Saturday. The mint water is refreshing and original; I have never seen this elsewhere. All in all, a good experience as I was in no rush to leave. They also have free wi-fi if you'd like to bring your laptop and surf away while you eat. read more

Lemoni! A Buena Vista staple. And listen up Yelps, if you have a craving for great, fresh food, but not exactly sure what you want, this is your spot. The menu is quite extensive, filled with Paninis, Baguette Sandwiches, Salads, Wraps and Smoothie too. This is by no means an exaggeration. You can find basically any kind of sammie imaginable as there are a ton of options. I am a huge sammie fan, so I love this little cafe. There's a healthy number of Vegetarian items to order as well, so bring your veggie friends along! In fact, on my most recent visit I ordered a delicious mushroom & pesto panini- it blew me away. The side salads are always fresh too. The staff is super friendly and there's that homey, local cafe vibe, which I love. This is one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. Just a note, parking can be a bit tricky at peak times, but you should be able to find something along NE 2nd. Any of the little cafes in this area suffer the same parking issue, so be patient, it will be worth the wait. read more

(World Resource, Buena Vista Deli, Mandolin...etc) and I finally got around to trying Lemoni. Very cute lunch spot. A lot of panini and wrap options. Amazing! Me and my boyfriend were supposed to go to the French bakery down the street but it was closed so we came here instead. Best choice. We had the pancakes, French toast, #11 smoothie and croissant sandwich. Every was so good and tasted like it was made there and not using frozen/processed ingredients. Will definitely return!
