I have absolutely loved this place for a long time however the last two times we were there have been problematic. I called and asked for certain people but they were either gone or on vacation and the owner said all the people were good so there was no need to request someone but I know from the past that is not true. I didn't want to argue with her so I just booked the time. We get there and the water is so hot I pull my foot out so quickly that I cut my toe. And it took a long time before they would even give me something to stop the bleeding. I pointed at my toe but they just didn't get that I needed something even after I asked repeatedly. Then the techs we get have no idea what they are doing (perhaps new) nor can they understand when we try to ask a question. My pedicure tech forgot to do several of the treatments that come with the pedicure I purchased and when I asked she said I didn't think you wanted it. So she proceeded to do it out of sequence and messed up the pedicure. All in all with this being such a disaster and the time before being equally as terrifying for us this is it. It really hurts my heart as I have referred so many people to this place and it really makes me look bad. Shame on you Lena. You watched all this happen and really cared very little. read more

I have been going to a nail salon in Ankeny where I live for a while now but have never really been happy with my results. I found Lena's from an ad on Instagram and was initially intrigued by the prices on full sets of lash extensions and I have yet to try them out for that service, but I saw all of their nail work and was super impressed, so I decided to try it out. I am so happy with the results. The store was clean and all of the employees I interacted with were super helpful, polite, and informative! I would also like to say if you follow their directions on care after you have your lashes or permanent make it will last as long or longer than they are supposed to. The first time I decided to try this place the nails (acrylics) didn't last more than a week, they were lifting like crazy. I had to glue every one of them at least twice over the next couple weeks. Because of the holidays I wasn't able to go back to have them fixed. So when I contacted them to notify them that I was not satisfied, They said I could come back in to have them fixed. I thought they were going to fix them for free but charged me full price for another set! I would of never of went back & paid for another set after the first ones couldn't stay on! Then they told me they only fix them within 48hrs? Too many options for nail places to give your money to then a place that doesn't guarantee their services, or care if their customers are happy. read more

I have been coming to Lena's for about 3 years or so for eyelash application and fills and very seldomly leave unsatisfied. Lena, the owner, is typically very fast and precise. She does great work. I usually call for an appointment and am able to get in that day or the next day with her, Jenna, Amanda, or Nike. There are a variety of other staff that have also taken care of me when I have just came in for a walk in and usually leave satisfied. I enjoy making appointments because I like having the same technician repeatedly, which helps me know how long my appointment will take. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Went in for a pedicure. They didn't clean or disinfect tools after doing my feet. The technician took same cart with same tools over to work on another customer. So I assume they didn't get cleaned before me either. So gross!! Now I wait and hope I didn't get a nail fungus. read more

The girl that tattooed eyebrows didn't listen to what I wanted at all. I had this done years ago in Arizona and had great results but this was a completely different experience. The women doing it penciled them in and had me look. I told her they were way to thick and she said they would be thinner when they were done. They were just as big and the two were not even the same shape. They also didn't let me pick a color. The last time I had this done in Arizona they had me choose colors. This time I ask for a dark blonde or light brown and they did it in very dark brown, almost black color. I went back for the touch up because they were not the same shape and they tried to fix that. They also told me to wait a bit and they would be lighter and thinner. I'm now three months out and they still look very thick and horrible. However, my eyeliner that the same woman did, looks amazing. Unfortunately I am stuck with horrible looking eyebrows! read more

I'm happy with the outcome, friendly ladies and they did an excellent job. No complaints from me. I was a little disappointed initially but they explained to me that when I go back after two weeks for the final touch up it will look perfect and they were completely right. I spent the first two weeks worrying about nothing. The scab for my eyeliner just needed to heal and then she went back through and did final touchups perfectly. Went in for brow powder fill for my eyebrows. Lena did a great job the first time but unfortunately the color faded almost completely a week later(some fading is expected). I went back for a fix and got a different girl so sadly she ruined the perfect shape Lena had started first time. Overall I am happy with my eyebrows and will recommend them to everyone I just would demand the same person and make sure they completely understand exactly what'll I have shape you want. read more

I went in to get eyelash extensions a little under a year ago. It was rather uncomfortable after walking out. Later that night my eyes got really red. Everyone thought I had been crying. Turns out I had gotten pink eye. I don't think they use clean tools. Last night I met up with a g/f for dinner. She told me she just recently went to Lenas for eyelash extensions as well and she ALSO GOT PINK EYE from visiting. Since then I started seeing someone new and not only was she way better, I'm now using mink extensions with no pain. The lashes used at Lenas are really hard, don't stay on very well and they actually put the lashes on your lash line verses on your actual lashes the correct way. After Lenas, I had to take out the extensions and therefore all my own lashes fell out too. This happened to my friend as well. I never went back. Either is my friend. I don't recommend this place, yes it's less expensive but not worth the pink eye or losing all your lashes. read more
