Okay, I love this place! I typically go to the same nail salon and when I find a good one I stay there. I've been going to my last one for years now. Due to Covid everything was shut down so I stopped going. I was looking for a new one to go to. One closer to home. I found this one on yelp and when I called the husband and wife were very nice and I said it was appointment only and cash only. Which was a problem and they told me to call a day before to make an appointment. It was so easy to do. When I arrived they open the door and greeted me in very nicely I had hand sanitizer at my reach when I went to the door. Everything was so clean it was a hot day and the air-conditioning was on inside which was very comfortable. The owners were so nice. During this time I was very concerned about going to certain places especially to salons. However I am glad I have chose this one as it was so clean and I felt very comfortable being in this place. . I really like supporting this place especially because it is family owned her husband helps her which is really nice and with the cleaning and making sure that things are very clean. I noticed this firsthand as once I was done getting a pedicure and Lena was doing the manicure. That has been clean my seat in my area where I was at right away and sanitized it washed everything wiped it down very good so I did feel really safe and comfortable going to this nail salon as they are very cautious and taking precautions. Lena is so down to earth. I just moved to San Pablo in October and was looking for a new nail salon. I'm really picky and most nail salon techs don't really spend time to perfect my hands and feet for me like Lena does. She's very professional and she's very caring. Just like she is family. It's my second time here and every time I come she's always so welcome and it's a family owned business. Her husband is also so nice and kind. The service that they give I've never experienced anywhere else. She takes her time to clip and scrub all my cuticles and calluses and gives the best massages when I request for pedicures. I just moved to the Bay about 3 weeks ago and I'm sure you can empathize with how hard it is to find a person that does your nails how you like them. Lena and her husband are the sweetest couple ever. They are adorable to watch and are truly a team. Lena took her time and was very meticulous with my pedicure and my fill. She checked with me about the shape of my nails several times and really listened to what I was looking for. I've never seen that before. The day that you claimed I yelled at you, there was another person there that witnessed the whole entire thing of you being rude and yelling at me for putting my phone on the other chair. I would never put a review here that is not true, I have a few of your customers that are willing to add to my comment. In case you didn't notice this page is for writing reviews good or bad, it is my right to write a review, good or bad. Yes, it is true what you and your husband do and whatever problem you have it is between the two of you, however, when you bring that problem to work and do it in front of the customers then it becomes our problem as we have to witness domestic violence seeing you yelling, denigrating, hitting him with a broom, kicking him, that is very uncomfortable to see and witness.......that is called in case you didn't know Domestic Violence, very rare to see a woman being the abuser. I went to Lena for two year, she is the first only one that was able to help me out with my ingrown toe nail, however, she is rude, she is very moody, and yells at you if you put your phone or any item on the other chairs. She abuses her husband kicks him, yells at him, kicks him, hits him with the broom, very embarrassing i feel bad for him. I have not been there in 7 months and i will never go back to her. If you're paying with a credit card Lena charges you extra 3 dollars for using a credit card. One of the times i was there another lady came and asked her how much for the pedicure, Lena had asked me not to say anything because she was charging me 23 for a pedi and she charged the other lady 4 dollars more. I have had many pedicures all over the place and who would have known that one of my faves would end up being in Richmond. First off, Lena wins the award for sweetest person ever. I felt like she actually cared lol. I got a deluxe pedicure and she took her time and made sure everything was perfect. She used a scrub, hot stones, and paraffin wax. I didn't want to go to Nails by Vivian in El Cerrito and pay bank for a mani and pedi so I yelped some nail salons around Richmond. Lena's Nails was the first on the list with 4 stars, aside from being newly opened, there were a few good ratings. Lena was the only cosmetologist working and there were two people in front of me, so I had to wait about an hour to be seen but it was fine, she was multitasking quite efficiently. She had me soak my grimy feet while she helped a customer. The massage chair was wonderful, it sure loosened up a lot of knots on my neck and shoulders, I almost fell asleep! Pedi: Sea salt and sugar rub, hot stone massage - YES PLEASE! Wow! It felt so good when she was rubbing the hot stone on my legs and feet, never had that done before. Definitely a great way to pamper your customers! Mani: I got a gel mani. Lena was so precise and careful and did a wonderful job. I love my nails! I have definitely found my new nail shop after going to horrible A-1 Nails for years. What keeps me coming back is Lena's patience and her ability to get the job done right the first time. She has an ample selection of polishes and she keeps up to date with the newest trends in shades. The pedicures are extremely relaxing. She uses a sea salt scrub and finishes the pedicure with hot stones in addition to the hot towel. I've never experienced either treatments at other nail shops. I've never had any issues with scheduling an appointment with Lena. If she's not available then she will let you know up front. She will say come another day or come at a certain time and she is always available. My only recommendation that you call ahead of time to make sure there's no one already in her chair. She told me that I couldn't hold my daughter (whom I was trying to feed) and that I had to keep her in the car seat. So of course she cried the whole time.
