I am absolutely obsessed with how they turned out. The service was excellent, and everyone was so kind and welcoming. Bella did my nails, and she is incredibly talented. She paid attention to every detail and made sure everything looked perfect. This was also the first nail salon I ever went to for my birthday, and they have never disappointed me. I came in for a much needed pedicure. It was a pretty standard gel pedicure. It's been almost a month and my pedi still looks perfect. I definitely recommend Sara's for a long lasting gel pedi. Interior of the salon is clean. I'd recommend making an appointment because it was busy when I went. No time restrictions on the street parking on Carlson. I've been to this nail shop a few times and had ok experiences, but today was a deal breaker for me. Aside from my nails being different from the inspo pictures and lacking in quality, I had the uncomfortable experience of being asked to pay in the middle of my service. From what I understood it was because they were closing soon, but nobody else was asked to pay besides me & I saw people paying after their service was complete. I've struggled with ingrown toenails for a long time, but I've received such great care here. With regular trimming, the pain is gone, and my gel nails always look beautiful too. Huge kudos to BB for always being so kind and professional! Today I also tried the Japanese head spa for the first time. The 60-minute deep cleansing and scalp massage by Lien was sooo relaxing. I have finally found a nail salon that is worth coming to. I have tried so many different nail salons in the Bay Area and sometimes they're good but other times it's usually a hit or miss. Every time I've been to Sarah's nails they have always treated me fairly and done my nails with great care plus amazing service. Each of the past three visits have been better experienced than any other nail salon. I've been to no exaggeration. They pay attention to detail and even if they mess up on something small, they are super happy to help fix it right away. I am grateful for this nail salon to have stayed open and changed ownership. I went in here planning to just get my nails done but saw their headspa services online last minute, it was such an amazing experience and i truly felt so relaxed! i loved everything and i even fell asleep in the middle of service, all throughout the blow drying part as well. they took such great care of me! my nails were also amazing, i didn't get the name of the sweet woman who worked on my hair, but bella did an amazing job with my nails. she killed it and i am so happy with it! i seriously cannot wait to go back and get my nails done again. woman at the front desk is also the sweetest, especially helping me before the services and picking out my nail colors. thank you so much!!!! read more

I recently moved to El Cerrito, so the search for a new nail salon officially began. I found this spot through Yelp and Instagram--always a good sign when a salon is active on IG and clearly more modern. I came in for a Gel X removal and new Gel X set with a French tip (with Lenaa), plus a spa pedicure with Ivy. I booked randomly without doing much artist research. Let me start off by saying.. I feel like I've been searching my whole life for a nail salon that can actually execute the designs I see online--and I think I finally found it. I have never loved a French tip from a local salon before, but Lenaa absolutely nailed it ;) I gave minimal direction: length, almond shape (sharp but not stiletto), and she immediately understood the assignment. The French tip thickness was perfect without me having to ask. I showed her an inspo photo for a bow on my ring finger, and she delivered. The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is because they didn't have red glitter (it is Christmas!), and one of the bows didn't hold the glitter properly--the adhesive dried black. I also wasn't offered any of the drinks they advertise, though that wasn't a big deal. My pedicure with Ivy was great overall, but it didn't fully dry and smudged a bit when I put socks on. That said, for a first visit, the Gel X application, French tips, and attention to detail were excellent--this really is a 5-star-worthy salon. Everyone was friendly, and it was clear there are a lot of regulars. I'm already looking forward to my next set in the new year and fully expect these nails to last at LEAST four weeks. I'm also intrigued by their Japanese head spa services I've seen on Instagram. Excited to make Sara's my new go-to spot for self-care days!! I paid $156 total including ~$23 tip for Gel X removal, New Gel X Set w/ French tip + design on 2 nails, Spa Pedicure with Regular Polish. It took ~2 hours. read more

I also had a bruise on my left toe, and Kevin was still able to cover it completely with the white gel color I chose -- it looked flawless. I've been going to Sara's consistently for the past 19 years. These is currently the 3rd owner since I started. There are 3 attendants that are still there (Lynn, Jan and Bebe) they are all fantastic. That is why I continue with going. However, the owner is not very personable. When I come she rarely smiles at me. I feel uncomfortable in her presence. If I did not like the service I receive from the 3 aforementioned ladies. I would stop going. The owner needs to be more welcoming and not make customers feel as if they are not welcomed. read more

EDIT: I recently came in for an appointment for the new Japanese head spa service & it was more than what I expected, in the best way. The service was about an hour long & was very relaxing. I've been having alot of stress, tension probably from working and living life and this new service had me so relaxed, I feel no stress, no tension & I feel beautiful, clean and so comfortable after my appointment. This service is for you if you're even just in need of some relaxation. I promise it's worth the time, do it for you, your body and mind will thank you. I've been in (literally so much) and every-time all the services I've had at Sara's have been excellent. The pedicures, acrylic sets, brow waxing/tinting & the new Japanese head spa are all so amazing in every way. They do beautiful, high quality work. My nails every time have been SOOOO good. This is visit.... not sure (lol) , but I can announce that this nail salon has become my nail home! There are a plethora nail technicians to choose from, that fits your style/personality. The service is always top tier. The front desk receptionist is always welcoming, the salon is kept tidy and doesn't have the strong acetone smell that can normally linger. The atmosphere is normally calm, relaxing and gives a spa like experience. Refreshments are offered or you can always ask what refreshments are available. The music is a mixture of appropriate pop music or classical. I would still recommend this salon. read more

had a very frustrating experience at Sara's Nails. I tried to walk in to get my nails done, and the woman at the front--her name was Sally--asked if I had an appointment. I said no, and she told me they had no availability for the day. I understood that, so I went ahead and booked an appointment online for later that same day. When I returned for my scheduled appointment, Sally again told me they couldn't take me--this time saying they were closing. However, it was only 5:30 PM, and their listed hours show they close at 7 PM. I was surprised and disappointed, especially since I had made the effort to book properly after being turned away earlier. This experience felt very disorganized and dismissive. I understand being busy, but turning away someone with a valid appointment well before closing time is not acceptable. Second time coming to this salon, the first was for prom nails and they did them so nicely. Stayed on for weeks after too with no lifting or falling off.
