Was there yesterday and ordered menudo, it was horrible it smelled like straight cow out of the farm And that only means that they did not properly cleaned it, before cooking the flavor was also off The handmade tortillas were horrible tasted like dry clay all bad I used to come here a lot with my family when I was younger. I've eaten here many times but my wife hasn't so decided finally to take some food from here to go. She had the gorditas and I had the chili verde and it did not disappoint and with the huge tortillas de mano!!! Service it's friendly quick and tentative it's pretty much a sit in take out only feel to it. No if you do end up going get what we had or the caldo de res. But that chili verde has a kick to it so if that's your level say but I always put extra salsa after. They do get packed sometimes so just plan for that. read more

Have been getting my tortilla masa here for yearssss and before i could cook would come here with my grandma and grandpa to get our tortilla masa, it's a great place, just the service is horrible. The girls are always in a mood and seem to have a stank face all the time. And their line is always huge to pay since they really can quite figure out a good way to ring people up. Also they haven't gotten with the times and only accept cash which is a pain in the ass. The area is horrible i always feel like in going to get mugged by a homeless person if i can't find parking in the parking lot which is an absolute nightmare in itself. Overall will i continue to come and give them my business? Yes cause we love their masa. My grandfather loved their food i have yet to try it so i can't comment on it but my grandfather DID have great taste in food so i'll trust him on that. read more

Excellent food! But the service is very bad if you're a female. The waitresses are always flirting with male customer. If you go early in the morning, there's nothing but males eating. I get it that they need tips but these ladies are calling males mijo and basically shoving their breas on male clients' faces. Especially the young - tall waitress . They let the males touch them, hug them, and talk dirty to them. It has a bar feeling instead of a family restaurant. I think that I got food poisoning last time that I ate there too! read more

Imagine showing up to your Tia's house unannounced and they were getting ready to start eating with some vecinos they invited over. THAT'S what it's like coming to Lenchita's. Food is always going to be dank but service is like your Tia is making your cousins serve you and they don't want to. Menu is simple and to the point. Can't really go wrong with anything on there. I usually go with the two gorditas or the costillas combinación. I've had the menudo but it's always busy on the weekends. Eso si, tortillas hechos a mano. Can't beat that. Lenchita's is a Pacoima institution, a place for nostalgia, definitely not a place for a foodie. If you're looking for a simple traditional dish, with no added extras, and fresh tortillas this is the place for you. They have waitresses who simply take your order and bring out the food nothing else. They're in no way attentive, so don't have any high expectations. Find a clean table, take a seat, and eventually a waitress will take your order. Lenchitas is a place of comfort for many. The only thing that's ever changed is the color of the menu. read more

It was a little spicy for but it was good (if you don't eat chile don't get it though). Service was good the ladies that work here are nice! I remember coming to this place years ago and it was good from what I remember. We ordered the menudo this morning, and it was lacking in flavor. Practically tasted like water. Also, the meat was chewy, not even cooked all the way through. We waited for our food for almost 30 minutes (after waiting in line for ~30 minutes) we saw people that came in after us and got their food way before us. Needless to say we had to remind them that we ordered, and they finally brought us our food. We couldn't even finish the menudo because it was that bad. So we ordered gorditas instead. Again, NO flavor. Did someone just forget seasoning?? The only good thing they made was the tortillas. Seems like this place fell off and went downhill. There's no management from what I saw. No system of seating and serving people. Our server was super nice and she was doing a good job, but it was just the food that sucked. 1 star for the food 3 stars for service read more

I've been coming here since I was little even my parents came here when they were little! Some of the most authentic Mexican food you can get in the valley. The food is amazing. Very affordable too! everything is at a great price. My go too is Birria de Chivo or Carne Asada Tacos. The service is great too all of the staff is nice. It gets very busy so expect there to be a decently long wait for food or for making an order over the phone. The ambiance is very nice every now and then there's some people that come and sing with there guitar or try to sell some stuff so it's always an active ambience. My review is only for their menudo. I've never tried anything else from here. The menudo tho... is pretty on point. The carne is clean, and the pieces are all perfect sized. The flavor is also good. You can tell this menudo is fresh. I rarely find carne with fat on it. I've tried Canelos menudo and that had some funky pieces that I had to throw out. My son is 8 and loves it! read more

The food alone is most definitely a 5, but let's be honest service has always lacked. Not necessarily because of lack of training, poor communication or behavior, but because this restaurant is always packed. If you know Lenchitas then you know this and you return for the food, knowing very well that you'll have to wait. Known for its wait time, homey ambience and excellent food, Lenchitas in my opinion is one of the best kept secrets of the San Fernando Valley.
