This corner is a mess. A busy gas station with a large mini-mart and a restaurant off to the side, with a recycling center packed into a corner and if you're lucky and you arrive on Mexican Mother's Day a pop-up florists shop nearly blocking the door. I fully expected the food to be as forgettable as you'd imagine. And I could not have possibly been more wrong. The carne asada, al pastor and the chorizo ...were.... perfect. The kind of meal that needs no addition, no improvement. It was handed to me in it's perfected state for me to enjoy immediately. I sat there stunned. Moaning and grinning and groaning as I considered another 3 tacos. You have no right to expect anything this flavorful and this delicious in a location as humble as this. And that my friends is the joy of exploration. Get out there. 2013 #84 / 365

I was desperate to eat and this was the first thing that popped up. I didn't realize it was inside a gas station but trust me, it is good food for a good price! very authentic!

I've driven past this place countless times and have always been curious to try it. It looks sketchy from the outside but I was surprised when I walked in. It's connected to the gas station but they have a nice little area for the restaurant. The tables were clean and the staff working there were really nice. I ordered a carnitas burrito as well as a taco al pastor and a taco de chorizo. The burrito was good, the carnitas had good flavor. The burrito came with a side of tortilla chips that looked homemade so I was excited to eat them but was disappointed as they were a little stale. The taco al pastor was just ok. The taco de chorizo was pretty good as well. They allow you to eat first and then you can pay when you finish. There was nothing super impressive about the place, but it was a good quick lunch.

My favorite are the breakfast burritos in the morning, or the tamales de puerco. Every morning is my daily routine.

Good small taco shop don't let the attached gas station scare you. The breakfast burrito of egg and chorizo is delish.

I've driven by this gas station 100 times and didn't notice the restaurant. Great sopes and horchata. I'll be back!

Everything came out fresh and packed with flavor. The tacos were loaded with perfectly seasoned meat, topped with fresh onions and cilantro, and paired with some seriously good salsas. The grilled veggies and sides were just as good, and even the beans were on point. You can tell they care about quality in every bite. We also grabbed some drinks and everything complemented the meal perfectly. Portions were solid, prices felt fair, and the overall vibe was just great. Honestly one of the best Mexican food experiences I've had in a while. Definitely coming back and bringing more people with me next time.

The inside is small, enough for a few small parties-with a cute little patio outside. I wanted something more unique than everyone else's tacos. They serve theirs with pickled onions, which adds a lovely freshness to it. I had an asada vampiro...there is a lovely, almost Smokey flavor to the meat. And no gristle! I also had the chicken chulada...it was unique! The chicken was salsa good, not fatty, which is imperative for me! I also got rice and beans on the side, my husband said the beans were just like his grandmas! I'll be back for sure!

Enter from the back, enjoy the paintings done by a well known San Fernando artist, a US Vietnam vet, the late Federico Blanco. Continue down the hall to the dining area. We are always greeted and seated upon arrival. The menu has great choices. The food is authentic and delicious. So many choices! Chile relleno is one of my favorites. But there are wonderful beef and pork selections. Recently a friend loved her chicken mole! The desserts are also great, so save room for cheesecake or carrot cake. And next door is a little bakery, so pick up something to bring home! This is a great restaurant to have a party or family get together. I have done both. I hosted a Cinco de Mayo luncheon with 35 ladies, some of whom had never been to that part of the valley. They loved it. Go and enjoy! Parking in the back. Support small local family businesses.

The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and exactly where you want to be on a hot summer day. The seafood was incredibly fresh and refreshing. I ordered the campechana kora, and my husband had the Aguachiles, both were absolutely delicious and perfect for the heat. What really made the experience special was the staff. They were so kind, patient, and welcoming. My husband has been practicing his Spanish, and instead of making him feel self-conscious, they were incredibly encouraging and sweet with him. It made the whole meal feel even more authentic and enjoyable. Great food, wonderful service, and an atmosphere that makes you forget you're just minutes from home. Parking was easy to find, which was a plus. The ambiance was casual, relaxed, and family-friendly. They have multiple TVs throughout the restaurant, and during my visit, they were showing a soccer game. I always like it when a restaurant broadcasts sporting events, even if it means the place sometimes gets very packed. I was really looking forward to trying their shrimp ceviche, but to my disappointment, they had run out by the time I arrived. I decided to go with my backup option instead: the camarones a la diabla. Camarones a la diabla is a dish consisting of shrimp cooked in a spicy red chile sauce. This restaurant also serves it with rice, toast, and a side of vegetables. As the name suggests, the shrimp are supposed to be spicy. As a spice enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for the best spicy dishes. The shrimp were cooked well, but they had a sweet taste. It almost seemed as if they had used ketchup in the sauce to tone down the heat. I'm honestly not a fan of mixing sweet with spicy, at least when it comes to protein. The vegetables that came with the dish were soggy and flavorless. The rice was okay but could have been better. The toast was pretty good, it was buttery, garlicky, and crispy. Overall, this dish wasn't bad, but it also wasn't the best. The service during my visit was good. My server was attentive and helpful. He frequently stopped by to check if everything was okay. Overall, this experience didn't turn out exactly as I had expected, but it wasn't a bad experience by any means. I might return one day to try their shrimp ceviche.
