The inside of the restaurant was a cacophony of sound, with conflicting noises coming from: the sports on the televisions, the music from the overhead p.a. system, and loud ringing from the restaurant's mobile order alert system. Combine that with a cash register clerk who spoke too softly to hear, and things got unnecessarily confusing. I'm calling noise pollution on their atmosphere, with lots of sensory overload. Their redesigned electronic menu board was cryptic, and at first glance it looked like they no longer sold their "monster" 15 inch sub. They did, but it's listed at the bottom, with no price. Seems like they would rather sell you two 7.5 inch subs at a higher price. The food that I brought home was deliciously satisfying, and prepared exactly as I'd ordered. Lenny's still offers a very good version of a Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwich. This location appeared to be clean and well-kept. I plan on returning to this particular location. Three and a half stars, rounded down to three because of the chaotic sound environment. read more

I have probably eaten at every Lenny's in Shelby County over the past 15 years. I go because the service is always reliable, the turnaround is quick, and, most importantly, the sandwiches are consistently STACKED with delicious deli meats. I always enjoy gazing upon a thickly layered American Club before taking the first bite. The service and turnaround at this Germantown location are solid, no complaints. The problem is this: they consistently skimp on the amount of meat that goes in to each sandwich. The layering is always disappointingly thin. You aren't getting the same sandwich as you would get at any other location I have been to in Memphis. I've given this location several chances, but after yet another disappointingly light sammy last week, I'm out. I'll drive down the road to another location for a proper Lenny's feast. read more

The owners of this restaurant are rude and if you bring a sandwich back they raise their voice in anger like it is not their fault. Also the quality of the sandwich is very poor. Very little meat over cooked tough steak on the Philly sandwich. They hardly put any lettuce, tomato ,etc. on the sandwich because I guess they are cutting corners to save money. The staff keeps changing so that lets you know they are not good mangers. This location is relatively fast, but pretty busy at lunchtime. If I'm in the mood for a cold sandwich, I get the mile high turkey the Lenny's way with the hot pepper relish on the side. If I want a hot sandwich, I get the buffalo chicken philly with ranch dressing. Those are my go-to orders, but I've never had a bad sandwich. I can't complaint about my lunch today at Lenny's. The restaurant appeared clean. I did not see anyone drop cheese or meat and pick same up without washing their hands. The bread was soft, the toppings were cool, and the employees were all generally pleasant. But I could never give a Lenny's more than three stars because it's a Lenny's sandwich shop. That all said, this was a good lunch and I would stop here again. Open 7 days a week, 10.30am to 9.00pm. So I was in the Germantown area and craving a sandwich, and Lenny's just happen to be in the same lot as Dollar Tree. As I walked in, I was greeted by all the staff and was promptly asked what I wanted to order. Being that I've never had Lenny's before, the staff member recommended some of the top sandwiches and showed me the different bread sizes. I placed a to go order and watched as my deli meat was sliced. After the deli meat was sliced, it was put on the bread and given to the next staff member. The next staff member asked what toppings I wanted. Compared to other sub shops liked Subway for example, I found their toppings to be limited. After he added the toppings, he wrapped the sandwich and I paid. Overall, the Sub shop was clean and everyone was really nice. However, the sandwich was just okay. So disappointed! I eat at the Lenny's in Millington frequently and always have a good sandwich. I tried this one in Germantown and order the same, a chicken Philly. The girl taking my order was terse and didn't greet me or thank me. However that wouldn't bother me if the sandwich was good. I was fortunately at the end of a long line at the counter and was able to witness a somewhat disturbing event: The slicer dropped the deli cheese, along with a kaiser sub bun, on the floor. After a few moments, another worker picked both up and placed them on the bread-cutting table. Interesting to watch. Minutes pass. Now the slicer picks up the grimy cheese and casually takes it into the grill area, out of view. Why not throw it into the trash? Then he returns and resumes his slicing duties, hands all over the food. Did he change his gloves? I would not bet on it. Hope you didn't go there today. Zero stars. The customer service is by far the best I've experienced in the Memphis area. I've used several different Lenny's and this one so far is the only one I can count on having my order ready as scheduled. They call me by name when I arrive and always help me to the car.
