I'm really not sure why I'd never gotten a Cheffie's salad before! I am now obsessed! Keep in mind - it can get very pricey!! I ended up paying $17 for a salad and sweet tea before tipping. The only things I added to the build your own were avocado ($1.60) and sunflower seeds ($1.30). I actually didn't mind paying that much because the salad was awesome! Cheffie's makes the best salads because they chop up the salad and ingredients AND toss your salad in dressing. This makes for a super easy to eat and well mixed salad! They also offer goat cheese! What else do you need in the world other than GOAT CHEESE?? The only thing I was not a fan of was the egg salad. To me, it was very salty with not enough mayo. Food is great but hours are flaky. Posted hours yesterday showed them closing at 8PM. After driving over there, the sign on the door said the same, yet the doors were locked at 5:30 pm. I came to lunch on a Sunday instead of doing the normal "brunch" thing and this was a great decision! I love the open feel of this location and it was very clean and organized. That's a plus since so much of the fresh items are in direct view to the customer. I liked the Memphis location so much I knew I had to return. Mom and I were going shopping right after so we didn't want any leftovers. The serving sizes for salads are ginormous here so we split a salad and sandwich combo. They gave us a spare bowl so we could split it. Mom was pretty doubtful at first until we got and split the salad. She says she will likely return and do the same thing with her friend since they often split meals. Also, it's kind of expensive so this is a really affordable way to come eat here. The club was good but not something I could see myself wanting to get. Went to Cheffie's today and remembered why I haven't been in years. I really just don't think the food is great. City silo has a better menu, more of an option and food is great! Wild Beet a salad and wrap place has much bigger of a selection from lettuce to topping options and you get a MUCH larger portion for a cheaper price. Wonderful and healthy sandwiches and salads. The people are always nice. In contrast their 'coffee bar' is not well executed. You really don't know what type of quality you'll get. The shots may vary from good to sour, and milk texture from flat to bubbles blown by a little kid with a straw. About all I can say is that I wish there was a Cheffie's near me. I would wear it out. So many healthy options combined with a convenient fast-casual ordering and bussing set-up. I posted a review 3 months ago and 8 hours ago the manager posted a somewhat contrary remark. He wrote "Gwen, So your suggesting that one of our team members has a vendetta against you? Wow. I love sandwiches, just not here. It's more of a build your own salad place. My friend built her salad and got some pozole soup. She said they were just o.k..... For me a sandwich starts with good bread. I asked the young lady if the sourdough was fresh and she said yes, it definitely was not ! I wanted the ham with Swiss cheese but they were out of Swiss. I opted for American. Average tasting ham and cheese but in my opinion completely ruined by stale dry bread. Today though, I had a work function and placed an Uber Eats order for 12 people. 20 minutes before it was scheduled to arrive they canceled my order. I was driving through Collierville off of Winchester and noticed A Cheffie's Café. I didn't know this location existed. Cheffie's is a great restaurant featuring many salads, sandwiches, local gelato, beer, and wine! All the food is extremely fresh and I believe they support most local growers, farms, etc... They are Green Fork Certified. There are so many great looking items on the menu that I had trouble deciding. The wait staff and manager are very polite/ helpful with any questions regarding the menu. Today I had the curry chicken salad...which was mixed greens, curried walnut-apple chicken salad, topped with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. It was delicious! Great spot for a salad and soup. The southwestern salad with citrus vinaigrette is my favorite and will have their French onion soup when it's available. I really like how they chop up all the salad ingredients and toss it with the dressing before serving. Went to Cheffie's tonight with my husband for dinner as well if you wanted some thing a little bit healthier. The service was good with the two young people behind the counter Who were very polite and courteous. The two salads that we got were about a four out of five. What was really disappointing was The level of cleanliness or lack of. The salad bowls had residual debris on the outside and as these bowls are stacked for use when you order a salad that means that the bowl underneath is either dirty or is now dirty. Both of our bowls were unfortunately covered with old salad debris. The silverware was also pretty dirty and we just decided to use plastic ware. Also, the Forks and spoon themselves we're not very sturdy and to be a salad place we would have expected better cutlery. Very unfortunate because after seeing The bowls and the silverware it made me lose my appetite a bit and we just decided to to-go it and head home. My family and I absolutely love Cheffie's. We moved across the street a few months ago, and decided to give Cheffie's a try out of convenience. We were very pleased with that decision, as we're huge salad people! You can order a predesigned salad or sandwich from the menu, or build your own. They offer an array of different toppings and ingredients, so the combinations are endless! Yet, meat wise, they only have varieties of deli meat, so it would be nice to see more options in that department. The salads are extremely well chopped and tossed.
