I've been getting glasses here for years. Always excellent service and very good prices. I especially like the Transition lens that change color with sunlight. They start out clear but in the sun they darken automatically. Then when you go out of the sun the lenses go back to clear. They have frames that are durable. The prices are low but the lenses and frames last. They don't have a optometrist at their location. I rarely write reviews, but I had to give this business the accolade it deserves. I bought a pair of frames elsewhere and got the lenses from Lens 4 Less. Their 1.67 high index lenses with anti-reflective coating (single vision) were even cheaper than Costco (especially since Costco charges a fee for installing lenses in frames from somewhere else), and they were ready in a few days. That's amazing, considering most places I looked into took 1-2 weeks. Customer service was very friendly and helpful. Made the prescription eyeglass-buying experience that much less of a headache. I just got my new glasses in. I have prisms in both eyes and I was at the point that I needed new glasses for reading as well as the distance that I already had. I was debating on getting vision insurance (this place doesn't take insurance), but it ended up being way cheaper to pay for the exam out of pocket (I went to Costco in Vista..I'll leave another review there because my experience was great there), and I was able to get my frames, polycarbonate (I think that's the term for the lighter weight lenses), anti-glare, progressive and prisms in both lenses for under $250! I paid almost $400 at another place WITH insurance the last time! Kevin helped me every step of the way and went above and beyond for me. I hope he gets paid enough that the keep him there! ha ha. I am VERY picky about where I get my glasses from so I was leery - how can a place so inexpensive deliver great quality product and great customer service? Well, they certainly do! Lens 4 Less Oceanside I have been wearing glasses for over 45 years. No glory, just to tell that I have a lot of experience with the matter. Lens 4 less Oceanside: what an experience! The good first: the prices are really good, and the frame is for free. In my case $145 for a pair of progressive lens. Then the bad, customer service non-existent, it took 10 days to get my glasses ready. The correction and the centering was accurate which is good. The curvature of the lens reminds me the lens we had 20 years ago. State of the art lens are much flatter. The protective coating is also subpar, and makes the driving by night unpleasant, and requires a lot of cleaning as dust, water and sweat easily stay on the lens. Then the worse: the scratch protection is totally inefficient. After a few weeks (3) I had deep scratches on both lens, where I kept my previous lens (2 pairs + sunglasses) virtually scratch free for 3 year. I checked the matter with the manager of the store. I had the feeling to be taken for an idiot, with arguments like "these glasses are perfectly fine: you can't scratch them with a nail!". Eventually the manager agreed to put my old glasses back on the frame and to give me my money back. It's been 10 days. No news, no money back, no one answers the phone... Often cheap is too expensive! read more

Needed a RX insert for Smith Pivlock sunglasses part ODS 2. Turns out that it is discontinued but a reputable optician can make the lenses to fit the frame. Costco Optical Carlsbad recommended these guys. Wow am I impressed. Talked w/ Kevin and John on the phone. They totally understood what I needed. Quoted me a very reasonable price over the phone. Since it was not convenient for me to drive to Oceanside I mailed my insert frame w/ old lenses to them and 1 1/2 weeks later I received the new lenses in the frame. Perfect!
