This place was awesome! Walked in just to look around but I ended buyin' a pair of one of their under $10 pairs of glasses. Most places that carry only Sunglasses are usually kind of stuffy and the attendants don't really ever care enough to engage you in conversation. However, the girl who was working the register immediately greeted me upon entry and began a friendly conversation about the weather and how my day was going, etc,etc. This doesn't seem like much to some people but whenever an employee cares enough to engage a customer instead of just "doing their job", that's what makes being a customer an experience instead of a chore. read more

Loved the Customer service (Mattie) hope I spelled it right was super helpful & patient as my wife tried several pairs of glasses. She has difficulty finding glasses that fit her face comfortably (Korean) and they never sit on her nose right. Not a fan of giving such poor reviews but this took the cake. Rude and horrible customer service! Hire someone who gives a damn at all, please. There was 1 young lady at the register (and her dog behind the counter). It was a Monday around 12pm. Dead in the store. She could care less that we walked in. Barely made eye contact or cracked a smile. Didn't ask if we needed anything. Every word she said felt forced and she seemed to want to be anywhere else but there helping us. Let me start. I walked in, looked at the Oakley case. Turn and ask for a price on a specific Sunglass. The young lady said I don't have the prices memorized and that the prices were marked on the glasses inside the case. And continued to ignore me. Is it just me that can't read the tiny prices inside the case. Or was she just not wanting to sell sunglasses today. Not coming back and I don't recommend you do. Brought my $140 pair of Raybans back in here for a simple screw replacement. This was the 4th pair of expensive sunglasses I've bought from Sunglass Corner for myself and family members, so I didn't think it would be a problem. The salesperson said they didn't ordinarily perform repairs, and recommended I visit Hotshots in Carlsbad, or check with Ray Ban's website for the replacement screw. I see by the reviews that I'm not the only one who had subpar service here. My friend and I walked in today around 1 pm ish and two people were working behind the counter: a dark haired female and a brunette male. I was very specific in my request in that I was interested in RayBans only and was open to their recommend on which style since I didn't know what looked best on my face. Instead, the girl opened the left side of the case of RayBans (not the right) and sat down and didn't give me a single suggestion, nor help at all. I tried the different sunglass styles on myself. The store was completely empty before, during and after our visit, yet with two associates didn't do anything except sit behind the counter. I actually liked the violet aviators I tried on because they were unique and told my friend I felt a little like a hippie by the style of the sunglass and the dark haired girl looked at the guy she was working with as if she checking to see if he heard my comment. She should learn that she works in a store of mirrors where we can see her and she should also learn that she's there to help customers not eves-drop and judge. So we walked out. Very amiable folks who cater to your needs whether it be for sizing or to try out the entire shop. Fair warning: It is a privately owned place, so they do dictate more than the company owned places. Was in Oceanside for the 70.3 Ironman in March 2015 and damaged my sunglasses in transit. Stopped into the Sunglass Corner since it was both close to my hotel and event locations to either get my existing sunglasses fixed or pick up a new pair. Young gal working this day was unable to assist with repairs but provided details for another local vendor and set me up with a sale of a pair of Smith sunglasses. After the sale, I found out that Smith was a vendor at the 70.3 expo and was able to sell me the exact sunglasses at a 20% discount. Why not save a few bucks, right? I decided to buy directly from the Smith vendor and return my earlier purchases sunglasses back at Sunglass Corner but the same young gal advised that there was a scratch on one of the lenses and wouldn't accept the return! I just purchased the glasses earlier that day and they were on my face since the purchase. The only way there was a scratch (which I couldn't even see myself) was if it was there prior to my purchase. I also offered to return the newer sunglasses but that wasn't an acceptible option according to Sunglass Corner. Sunglass Corner would only accept a return of the exact sunglasses provided directly from their sale rep? The manager was called in (he was working at a surf/beach apparel shop across the street). The manager was mostly chill and although attempting to backup his employee seemed like he was going to do the right thing and accept the return. In the mean time a 3rd employee arrived and decided that the return would be accepted but not for the full value of the sale. Sunglass Corner only stocks and accepts returns for product in "pristine" condition. I started to get upset and definitely felt like Sunglass Corner clearly only cares about getting and keeping a sale. The mom and pop shops are supposed to be where customer service is above and beyond the corporate guys, not the case here! Ultimately, the manager did the right thing and refunded the full value of my sale and even through in the value of a sunglass case I had also purchased earlier that day. They took the newer "pristine" sunglasses not even out of the box yet. I left with only 20 or so minutes of my time being wasted. Suggest looking for sunglasses at another shop. read more

I just had the WORST service ever in this store where in the past I have purchased many pairs of sunglasses. On Aug 8 at 2:30 I entered the store and asked where the sun cloud glasses were the kid behind the counter looked up from his phone and pointed to a case. I looked to get a pair and said, oh, it's locked. He lazily said 'did you want to try something on'....which was obvious and I said 'yes'. He unlocked it and walked away. I chose a pair and asked if there were other polarized glasses in the store to which he answered 'what do you mean'. When I explained I wanted to know which other brands have polarized he said 'a bunch, it's not like I'm going to tell you every brand that does'. He was the most unhelpful idiot. When I paid for my glasses he didn't even put them in the case that they come in, I had to ask for one. Unbelievably terrible service! I likely would have bought at least 1 or 2 other pairs if he could have directed me to a few other options to consider. What a shame. read more

Bought a pair of Oakley's here. Not a very special price or service but fine. The finish on the glasses easily scratched so I wanted to find out if there was anything they could help work out with Oakley. Was told to bring back my receipt (as if they would do anything), so second trip back they did nothing! (Didn't like getting my time wasted if they weren't going to do anything anyways) Really wanted to buy local to get local support, but really disappointed in the support. Manager had plenty of chances to make any effort, and get repeat business, but not interested. There are plenty of places to buy glasses, any effort at service would have helped. I was in town a year ago and bought a pair of Oakley's that I still love, but I saw a display with Dillon that caught my attention. I haven't found them anywhere else to try out different styles that I saw on the Dillon website until I was back in town in February. Found the right style (Dillon Bucket), just not the right finish. Gal at front desk (Karen?) took down my info and relayed it to management, and I got a call back within a few days of returning home. Rhodel placed an order for the exact style I wanted and they were ready in about a week. Ended up having them shipped to me, and I got a better deal than the website offered. Both individuals were outstanding and I couldn't ask for a better customer service experience. Shades are great and have a few jealous co-workers. Ive been shopping on and off at this business for about three years now. Used to be a fun place to visit. I don't know what's recently happened- maybe a change of ownership or management because that is not now the way it is. A few weeks ago I called the store about a certain brand of sunglasses. The clerk said he had them in stock. I drove to the store only to find that what I was looking for was not in stock. The clerk said he would order a pair and that they would probably be in by Wednesday as they would be shipping from the Encinitas warehouse, and that he would call me when they came in. Never did receive the call, so I called the store again. Clerk said he knew nothing about my order. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he was out to lunch (at 4:30 pm) and that he would call me when he got back in. Well, he never did call. I called the store one more time but no one seemed to know anything about my order. Ive lived in Oceanside for 22 years and like to support our local businesses. However, in this case I decided to go online and found exactly what I was looking for and at the same price with free shipping. As such, I can no longer recommend this merchant.
