My Mom lost her prescription sunglasses. She bought her last ones years ago at a LensCrafters in Thousand Oaks , Ca. We went to the Asheville mall off Tunnel Road and they were able to look up my moms last purchase which was now discontinued. They did'nt have a lot of Tiffany brand frames as someone had recently walked in and stole all the expensive ones. They were able to help us with a currently made grand That's close to her old ones. My moms buying them somewhere else but having LensCrafters prepare and install them as they were about a hundred less than Walmarts $300 for lenses. read more

Don't go here!! I drove an hour to go here because Lenscrafters offers an AARP discount (I made the appointment through lenscrafters). I even messaged them earlier in the day to specifically state I would be using the AARP discount, and they didn't want to tell me until I showed up for the appointment that they wouldn't honor it because they're "technically not part of lenscrafters" even though I booked the apt on lenscrafters site, and instead of paying $55 like it stated online, it would be $250. After less than 2 years my transitional lenses from LensCrafters failed! I had a protective coating applied when the lenses were created and according to LensCrasafters, the coating "failed." The glasses are now completely trash as they are so marred/opaque that they are useless. LensCrafters said "gosh, sorry" there's nothing we can do and no, we won't replace them. The same coating apparently got on to the frame which changed the finish. Never go there. They won't stand behind their product or their work. read more

By far the worse place to go to have your prescription from a real doctor, ophthalmologist, filled or to get them through the on-sight optometrist. Some of the techs are not certified. Even with the state of NC insurance the charges were ridiculous. My husband had to go back 3 or 4 times. If you get polarized prescription sun glasses check them good. Whoever or whatever makes them does not do it correctly. They come all blotchy, time and time again. Glasses and lenses are very cheap. They fell apart after 3 months. Mine on the other hand give me double vision. They couldn't get the bifocal lenses situated correctly. I'm having new ones done at Sam's Optical. It doesn't partner with the state's insurance anymore but who cares. At least I know they are quality lenses and frames. This place should be shut down. read more

After procrastinating for a year and a half I finally went and had my eyes re-examed. I could tell that I needed stronger magnification to read fine print. I had previously gone to an optician on Hendersonville rd which took 45min to an hour for the exam and had to take my glasses one pair ($997) after my insurance, back to them twice before they got them correct. At This Lenscrafters the eye exam took 10 minutes max... I got four pairs of glasses. 1 Armani, 2 Costa and a pair of safety glasses all with transitional and progressive lenses.. They nailed each pair and hit a home run first time... Thank you...and for the price of one pair that I had purchased from another Eyewear provider. 5 stars read more

I freaking love this place. I tell everyone who compliments my glasses where I got them. I never would have thought that a chain eyeglass place in the mall would have such amazing doctors and customer service. I previously had really negative experiences at the eye doctor's offices I had been to. When I had a debilitating migraine for the first time, my neurologist recommended I also see an eye doctor. When I saw Dr. Morse(?), he was incredibly thorough, empathetic, and kind. He was considerate and accommodating to my current migraine and spoke softly and turned off the lights in my room. He prescribed my glasses and literally changed my life. I had no idea I couldn't see! Anyway, that was a year ago and I came back today because this morning I CRUSHED my glasses with my big, stupid foot. I called and asked if I had any sort of warranty on them and they reminded me that I purchased the 1-year replacement plan. I was able to replace both my frames and my lenses for only $50. I pick them up tomorrow. I have nothing but nice things to say about this Lens Crafters. 10/10 would step on my glasses again read more

After sitting for 20 minutes I asked how long it would be. Maybe an hour or more was the answer. How about the respect of someone's time when one calls and give them the truth about wait times. I had a pair of glasses made at Lens Crafters and I could not read properly and when I took them back, they discovered that the prescription was incorrect which I had never heard of happening. In any case, they were correct. I got a new prescription and they remade them at no cost which was so generous of them. Customer service is excellent. They lie. Tell you, you have a 15 minute grace period for being late to your appointment. I work in Brevard and fought traffic for an hour trying to get to my appointment. Called to let them know, was told if I got there within grace period they could see me. Get there to check in at 15 minute mark and was told I needed to reschedule because I was 10 mins past grace period. Which was lie. No thanks. Taking my business elsewhere. read more

Shopping for glasses is usually a dreaded task. Not at this location! Melody helped me find the perfect frames for my face and they feel so good! Pro tip-no one goes to the mall anymore so this location was less congested in the parking lot and getting in and out of the store was fast! I think people forget about this location but this will be my go to spot. I really like their selection of frames and the customer service is top notch! read more

Buyer Beware! I took a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses into the Asheville Mall store to have the lenses replaced because they were scratched. (I had originally purchased them at LensCrafters). The glasses had Ray Ban lenses with a green tint and I wanted exactly the same new lenses. Now that shouldn't be so hard, should it? I was told they'd be ready by 3PM so I stopped by to pick them up. Not ready. The next day I got a phone call from someone at the store reminding me to pick up my sunglasses. When I got there, there were seven people ahead of me so I waited. And waited. And waited. After a half hour I had to leave for another appt. Today I went back and only waited 15 minutes but someone finally got my glasses for me. BUT - instead of replacing the same lenses they put in a different color and did not use RayBan lenses. They used LensCrafters lenses which are heavier and thicker (even tho' it's a very light prescription). The person who was helping me verified from my previous purchase receipt that they were supposed to be green tint and RayBan lenses. He said RayBan lenses would take up to 10 days more and after lengthy computing said they'd cost an extra $117. I wasn't happy but told him to go forward. At that point, waiting customers were stacked up and my salesperson was getting nervous. He told me he'd email me the receipt because he had to deal with other customers! I reminded him that this was the third time I'd come in to pick up this order and would appreciate not being rushed. Wait there's more: The salesperson called me later and told me he'd emailed me a receipt and had been able to get the extra charge down to $78. That's good. However, on the receipt it stated the color of lenses was to be clear!! I have no idea what I'll get when I finally go back to pick up my "corrected" order! I've been a customer at LensCrafters in every city where I've lived for the past 20 years but not anymore due to the poor service and now lack of confidence in their ability to correctly fulfill prescription orders. read more

I went to LensCrafters this June to get new glasses. They really mess me up on my insurance. I ask the sales lady if the take my insurance she told me yes. I got a pair she tells me I have pay all of it up front fill out form and take my human resources at work. When I went pick them up I ask again she told me then they was out of network but the had agreement with my insurance I should get some back. It was a a big lie. It was out of network so it is not much at all. I can't even get the form send in the haven't received it. I called the manger complain all she had say we gave u promotion sale with that and insurance should be good . It's not good Believe me it was no sale I paid way to much I could got them cheeper some where else.. I do not like be lied to I will never go back there again. read more

I have been purchasing my eye glasses from Lens Crafters as long as I've been wearing glasses (over 10 years now). This was my first visit to the Tunnel Rd store, which is located inside the mall. They had a decent size selection of both regular glasses and sunglasses. I was promptly greeted and had several associates check on me while I searched the glasses. Once I figured out what I wanted, I was disappointed to find out that only certain glasses can be done in 1 hour. (I've never had this experience at any other Lens Crafters.) They send out certain frames to get fitted for lenses, and it can take up to 10 days. The associate that ended up helping me with my purchase was of little help... She made me feel uncomfortable while I was selecting glasses bc she kept saying weird things like, "well, that's my opinion." Then when it came time to pay, she could not find my information or my credit account. Her answer to most of my questions was, "I don't know," and no follow-up! I think she actually opened a new account in my name - but I'm not for sure because all she said was "I Don't Know." Once I got away from her, things were more positive. I was impressed with them getting my glasses done in under an hour. And the store manager was friendly and professional while fitting my glasses. Overall, I like Lens Crafters and plan to be a loyal customer. I just hope the lady who waited on me finds a different job because she was terrible. (For real. Sorry.) read more

I had a wonderful experience getting my glasses here! Luke helped me pick out the perfect pair of glasses. I tried on so many pairs and was very indecisive but he was patient, fun, and incredibly knowledgeable the whole time. I never would have tried on the frames I got without his urging and they are perfect! my lens took less than an hour and they even took the time to fit the frames to my face. I went in for a eye exam next door with Dr. Morse @ Ashe Vision Assoc and provided "Jackie", I believe was her name with my ins. card so that I could begin picking out the frame of my choice. She told me that they accepted my ins. No problem. Once I picked out the frame of choice and sat down with her to go over the pricing she quoted me as needing to pay $317+ and this is after ins. paid their portion. I have the high option which gives me top of the line lenses, progressives for free, transitions for free, etc etc. The whole nine. The frames I picked out only cost $149.98 by Ralph. She couldn't explain why I had to pay so much money. This location is listed as an in-network provider on the website, I called before going to verify such, and verified again before I picked out my frames. I have never been to a place that cost so much after ins and the optical apprentice couldn't better explain prices/insurance information. This was on June 2, 2018. read more
