I went for my annual eye exam and contact exam - I was seen by Dr.Hashemian. I would recommend her to anyone - I have never had a more thorough eye exam in my life, she took the time to explain every little detail to me. She also discovered my contacts were an ill fit and got me into a new pair that are amazing and feel great in my eyes. She also informed me i can call in and have my contacts shipped to my house whenever I need to reorder within the year. You must see Dr. Hashemian, she truly is a top notch doctor! Ive been going here for almost 8 years. I have had great customer service for the last 6 years. I decided to write this review after this latest mess up. Two years ago i was told that i could buy Oakley sunglasses and bring them into their store and get my prescription put in. After i bought them, i walked in and they told me oh we do all the Oakleys except those. We have to ship those to the factory to do those. They charged me $300 plus i had to wait 4 weeks in order to get them. I was okay with it. I received them and was told that i couldn't warranty them or anything since a third party was involved. In February this year they were stolen. I rescheduled an eye exam last week to get my prescription renewed. They called and told me my reminder yesterday. I got there and they said we dont have you down at all. They said oh you might be at the one around the corner. So i had to hurry over there and was late to my appointment when they told me it was at this one. After I got to the other one they said that this location ripped me off and said that they make lenses for the sunglasses i purchased two years ago. Go to the one by Jamba Juice! This place is a scam and treat you like a typical mall crowd. read more

She is VERY helpful, down to earth and provides AMAZING customer service. The next day I had to return to have my glasses refitted and Valerie was right there to help me. My mother and I both needed glasses so we decided to go down to the Brea Mall LensCrafters to get quotes on frames/lens prices that we could compare against prices online, but I also needed my current pair of glasses adjusted. So we picked out some frames and got their prices and everything seemed fine until I told her I also needed my glasses adjusted. So I gave her my glasses to get adjusted and she comes back with them nicely refitted but with a HUGE DEEP SCRATCH across the bottom right lens which I point out to her is new and that she scratched them, and SHE DENIES IT! Tells me that was already there, um I don't think so sweetie I know what scratches are on the lenses I look through every single day. Turns out the girl who was helping us, her name is Frieda Olivia by the way, was the general manager of the store so I had nobody higher I could complain to other than corporate. My lenses are also somewhat special with astigmatism so it would of taken 2 weeks to order new lenses if I could of been compensated anyway so I might as well order my new frames/lenses online anyway UGHH now I get to look at this giant scratch for 2-3 weeks. My mother and I came to the conclusion that this scratch was done in spite that we were just in their store to get quotes and not make a purchase. This place will never get any business from me again, and I would urge anyone who reads this review avoid this place like the plague, and if you really need to go to this store stay the hell away from the general manager Frieda Olivia, she is there for your money not to help you. read more

Initial service was good. They struggled to figure out the insurance and had to provide the same information 3 times. The problem came when we returned to pick up. She rang me up told me to give her a minute to get the glasses and started helping someone else. I tried making eye contact and she ignored me. After 15 min I had to walk up and remind her that we were still waiting. She replied we are really busy. I said I understand but I was here before all these people. She finally got up and got my glasses y said your husbands will be another 15 min. Ate you kidding we have already waited 2 hours and were told it would only be an hour. Their manager is just rude. Just how she talks to people is so rude. While waiting for our glasses I heard a family tell her that she did not know why she was so rude to them. I would likely not return. read more

I got my glasses at a LensCrafters around a year ago. Needless to say, the glasses are crap. They try to sell you all types of coating for the lenses and neglect to tell you the there is a chance the coating may become defective and start to appear as permanent horrendous scratches and scuffs on your lens. And when you try to go to the store to have them rectify the problem, they tell you that if you didn't buy the protection plan, you're basically on your own. They say that it's when you clean the lenses with the lens cloth without the spray. Ummm, I'm pretty sure no one carries that spray everywhere they go. So, are they trying to tell me that in the 35yrs that I have owned glasses with coated lenses, that I've been cleaning them wrong all this time? Because this is the first time this has ever happened. Coincidence that it's the first time I've ever used LensCrafters? Doubtful. Their lenses are just crap--that's the trade off for having them ready in an hour. Save yourself the trouble--go to a reputable non-commercialized optometrist. They give you more personalized attention & service and the 3 weeks you wait for your quality glasses is 100% worth it! read more

Over the years we have given this company many thousands of $$$ of business. This time, we wanted to compare pricing with the online retailers. We went to this brick and mortar store for a price quote. We were clear from the start we were shopping. We were working with the manager, Freda Olivia. My son also Over needed an adjustment to his frames (which were purchased from LensCrafters). When they were returned, they had a prominent scratch on the right lense. My son brought it to her attention but she said, that scratch has probably been there for years. Of course, we had no proof of the condition of the "before" category. It left us feeling she was miffed that she had given us her time providing a quote and didn't get our business that second. A quote is a quote and we were only asking for that. It was very disappointing to us, after years and years of going to this store, that something like this would happen. Don't go to this store... they do not personify customer service. read more

This review is directed to the front staff at this particular Lens Crafters. The optometrists are fantastic, I saw Dr. Kim today who was friendly and informative. I forgot to ask her for samples of contact solution so I asked the front lady, Araceli, who couldn't be more stingy and rude. After paying $200 out of pocket for contact lenses (with having insurance), the least they could do is provide me with a couple of samples. Instead she gave me one opened box of solution. Usually they have given me a couple boxes (unopened!) + wipes during my visit as I have been going there for years. Also, I had asked her about having double coverage through my husband's insurance before my appointment in case they needed to process any information because it usually takes them 15 minutes and she ignored that. So after my appointment was over, I asked her again and she said she needed to run my husband's insurance again! This is why I asked her to check in the first place so I didn't have to waste more time. I hope they can retrain some of their employees or give them a refresher course on good customer service! read more

This is the best Lenscrafters I've been to. They're nice, have a good selection of glasses, and they're good at what they do! Especially the one that (i think) is the lab manager is amazing. He helped repair my glasses when the lenscrafters down the street wouldn't! Wish I had gotten his name, but I will definitely make this my regular lenscrafters based on him and the other nice staff. Today, I saw what I think is a great eye doctor, Dr. Lau (I hope I am spelling that correctly.). I was looking forward to working with him after our visit. Before I saw him, earlier in the day, I called to see if they took my insurance. They said they did. After my work with the doctor, I get told by the front desk that my bill is over $100. I tell them that I called earlier and meticulously covered what I needed and I was told that I wouldn't even have a copay. Then, they try to negotiate with me saying considering their mistake, I wouldn't have to pay for X but I still needed to pay for Y. I said I wouldn't pay for anything. I would have gone somewhere else if I was told upfront there was an out of pocket cost. I mean, what is insurance for anyway? Did they take responsibility for their false statements? Did they honor the phone call? No. They said I needed to pay, so I walked out with nothing. A big waste of time. Completely avoidable and unfortunate situation. That said, I encourage you to find somewhere else to go if you need this kind of health care. I don't think you can trust them. read more

This place is awesome! I'm not really sure why people are giving it poor reviews. I'd like to first start by saying, that if you know where you're going, the location isn't a problem. *TIP* Park in the upper level of Sears and go in that way. If you park there, its a very short walk through Sears into the main part of the mall, and Lenscrafters is on the right, right next to Torrid. This specific branch has SUPERB customer service. My initial visit was quick and efficient. I can't remember the woman's name now, but she was SO nice! She made me feel really comfortable throughout the eye examination. Then I met with Dr. Attar. She was amazing! She explained what I needed and why my eyes work the way they do. She recommended contacts, but I like glasses (much less invasive in my opinion). She was absolutely polite and sweet. Some people have reviewed that this location didn't do glasses in under an hour... but every time I've gone the glasses have been made in under an hour, sometimes less. I think that if you don't pick out frames maybe that's what takes so long? I'm really not sure how that happened. I thought they were great here and the customer service was impeccable. The only issue I have is with how expensive it is. But, I guess if you want great quality, you gotta go to the right place! read more

I initially went here because I wanted to go to a legitimate eye doctor/business but I needed more flexibility with the appointment times (more evening & weekend options). I've been to another LensCrafters before (the West Covina Mall location) and although it is pricey, I'd rather pay a little more and have better quality & customer service... So my initial appointment setting and exam with the doctor and insurance coverage was in February of 2013 and it went great. I felt well taken care of and hey had a great selection and took the time to help me try some styles out. I left satisfied. So, since my initial experience was okay, I decided to go back because I was looking to get some prescription sunglasses this time AND I wanted to pay the deductible to get my lenses replaced because they were scratched. It was a TOTALLY different experience. I went in one evening after work and got the run-around because they couldn't see what my insurance was able to discount for the lenses and frames. I left a little disappointment but they asked for my number and they told me they would call me that night once they talked to my insurance. I didn't hear from them. So I let it go and I went back again the beginning of the following week. This time I tried on some frames, and again they weren't able to give me my insurance coverage info (the system was down) and said they would call me back. I didn't hear from them. I called back 2 days later and got the run-around AGAIN and they said they would have someone call me. Mind you, this entire time, I'm ready to make a purchase and my frames have been picked and adjusted and ready to go as soon as I hear about my insurance I can arrange payment. I didn't hear anything again. So I call back a THIRD time, this time I let them know that I've gone in multiple times and that I had been told that I would get a call back multiple times and that I was just waiting for insurance discount info to make my payment. This time they kind of changed their tune and they got the info I needed. I told them I would go in the next day. I went in the following day and got everything taken care of. Again, it was pricey but I'd rather pay more to get more. So I ordered my prescription sun glasses and even opened a line of credit and payed the deductible to have my lenses on my regular glasses replaced. They had my regular glasses ready in an hours which was good. And I met with someone to help adjust them and I left. Well, it turns out, they didn't replace my lenses with the same kind I had originally ordered. My glasses felt way looser fitting and I couldn't figure out why. It because they gave me the thicker lenses even though I payed the extra money and had the thinner lenses on my original pair. SO now I have to go BACK again to have them give me what I PAYED for and re-adjust my glasses AGAIN! I've never done a review on yelp before NOR am I someone to complain but this is kind of ridiculous. I am definitely not a satisfied customer and I wanted to make sure someone else doesn't have a similar experience. read more

If there is only an option for no star. The one located inside the mall not inside Macy's -- it was decent. Friendly and helpful staff. I needed to get my PD measurement. I was sent to the LensCrafters inside Macy's to get it done since the main shop is busy. The lady that helped me was nice it's just that I don't know if she could comprehend or just didn't want to get the job done since I'm not getting glasses from them instead I wanted to try getting them online. I was a customer-- I had my eye exam with them but I wasn't informed that deciding to get glasses from somewhere else would be their ticket to treat you like shit. She wasted my time. HORRIBLE!!!! Had an appointment at 3:30 The technician took me right away. 45 minutes later all the preliminary tests were completed. While waiting to see the doctor I was told there were 3 patients ahead me. They have several technicians and only one doctor. Ok I would have been surprised if this location had more stars. Since all the workers here are so "wonderful" at customer service. First of all it is very unorganized and slow. Their system continuously crashes or the workers are slow I don't know. 4 months ago I was issued a prescription for contact lenses that was not right, I could still see decently but my right eye was seeing a little bit of blur. I didn't think of it much but really notices when school started and I had to look at the blackboard. I went to get my prescription readjusted they did but refused to swap my contact lenses that I bought (which is worth $35). What am I gonna do with the wrong contacts now, they are completely useless. They lost $350 a year customer with (lifetime value of $15,000 and I could still bring my future children or family etc. ) over $35 box of contacts. The store manager Liz was completely unreasonable and made it sound like I was trying to mooch off a free box. Excuse me I am not that desperate, I spent $500 on frame of glasses here previously. She called her 2 girlfriends over who ganged up on me. I did not get fair resolution for the services I paid. This place is way more expensive than other places and only reason I used them was because they have a nationwide system that comes in useful if I run out of contacts when I am in other states and don't have my prescription with me. Also they are in the mall, so usually I walk around while I wait for my frames, contacts, exam etc. But forget it I am never setting my foot here again. read more

She had a sour rotten eggs face throughout the transaction, and was overall unhelpful when asked a question. No people skills She came off like a part-time weekender or holiday worker. Dr. Attar is great in my past experience, but Dr. Ikemoto is horrendous--total lack of people skills, and always tries to up-sell like a used-car salesmen in a leisure suit. After asking a number of questions about the lenses on a pair of sunglasses that I had confirmed with my issuance that I was covered, Hector tells me that only if I get the lenses with the frames would I get them! I went as far as calling Lenscrafters Corp number and they too confirmed that my insurance and I are correct. Now, Hector tells me that if he pops out the lenses that came with the frames, which Lenscrafters has no authority to do since it came that way from the manufacturer, that I will be able to take the lenses! WHAT A JOKE! These guys are just making things up now! The staff is nice but showed me the most expensive frames when I said I didn't have a lot of money at the time. I found a cheaper pair and got an exam. After paying more than $100 after my insurance, I realize that all I needed was a pair of $5 readers from Walmart or CVS! The right thing to do would've been to tell me to save my money and get those as my eyesight only needed readers. I will not go back to them at ANY location. WATCH OUT! read more

I just had my eye exam with Dr. Jamie Lam; she was great! This is my second time using LensCrafters at the Brea Mall; however, this is my first time getting Dr. Lam. She is very through, doesn't rush you thru, and has a personality! Unfortunately, she is moving to New Jersey in June, so I can't really use her as the selling point much longer. I've always had awesome customer service when coming here, so I plan on using this place the next time I need an eye exam. As for the selection of frames, they are pretty good overall. They have way more to choose from then LensCrafters in Chino Hills (which is where I live), hence why I come here. read more

I'm so disappointed to see the bad reviews for this location. Fortunately I have had nothing but great service over the past 15 or so years. Whenever I would cut it too close with ordering my contacts and run out, they would always provide me with some extra pairs to get me by until my order came in. I do agree that prices are high, but my glasses always lasted me several years so in the long run cost was not an issue. All the Dr.'s over the years have been exceptional, never had an issue. Most recently I had Lasiks and feel comfortable with them taking care of all my post op appointments. Store is large with a big variety of brands and styles. read more

I had a wonderful experience at this location, all thanks to a helpful worker named Frieda! I had paid for an expensive pair of frames at a different venue and had been suffering from uncomfortable pressure behind the ears and headaches ever since. Numerous trips to several different optometrists had all yielded terrible results: fixed the ear problem only to have my glasses constantly slipping down my nose, pressure transferred to the bridge of my nose and crooked alignment. The last visit left me with the recommendation of going to Lenscrafters to have the legs and nasal bridge supports changed for a "better fitting" size. Not the case! In a matter of 10 minutes, Frieda fixed what several other optometrists could not. She did some adjustments and now they fit perfectly with no discomfort anywhere! I saved money avoiding part replacements and I can see clearly without any pain. Highly recommend for excellent service and conscientious care. read more

Rebecca is the one who helped me out with the insurance paperwork & my insurance was being difficult but she was extremely patient & nice. The Dr & assistant which I can't remember either name, but they were both amazingly nice. My daughter came home from college for the weekend to make this appointment and they just turned them away with no explanation and did the same to another family in the store. What is going on?
