Beware! This place is worse than a car dealership. The salesman that helped me out today wasn't interested in providing a quality service experience. When I originally called to schedule my appointment, I specifically asked if VSP was accepted there and I was told yes. What Lens Crafters in Burbank doesn't tell you over the phone is that your insurance company may be considered "out of network" until you have had your eye exam and are ready to purchase the frames. This means your coverage is way less than you'd expect. The price I was initially quoted by the rude, double-talking salesman started at $615, then dropped to $515 with an unexpected "discount." He then tried convincing me to take a lesser quality progressive lens than what I currently have to drop the price down to $415. If you want to spend an hour of your time haggling, this is the place to go, but if you want an honest transaction at a reputable optometry office, steer clear of this place! read more

I decided to try this Burbank/Toluca Lake adjacent location after I got fed up with their Sherman Oaks one where I shopped for over 15 years and got treated poorly. This location isn't huge, decent size, clean, enforced Covid protocol. Decent parking size in the back. I came to get my prescription sunglasses fixed and they did it on the spot which I was pleasantly surprised by. When I got in they asked me to sit down and wait which I did. But somebody was helped ahead by another employee so I won't go and seat pretty again. I did try new frames. They give you a tray for the ones you put on. No one mentioned till the end that there's a spot where I could have tried then without my mask on. So a few hiccups but it's close and I decided to give the another shot. In a week I went to get prescription sunglasses. Needed a new pair. I also needed a new prescription. Didn't know mine expired. Brittany set it up for me, she was super helpful, set aside the frames I chose, gave me good advice. The check up went smoothly, both Michael and the doctor were nice, attentive, positive, helpful. My sunglasses were done next day. They did try their best to get me plastic lenses since I am allergic to everything else. They made them darker for protection. I also like my Jacquie Oohh frames. I felt like everyone was nice and very attentive to me. I wish I would have come to this location sooner. It's closer by also. But never too late! I am glad I found it and I will be back for my new pair of regular glasses! What a difference! read more

Did my eye exam with Dr. Choi and got 1 pair of glasses . I want to order some glasses online and I'm missing my pupillary distance in the prescription and I call to get it from my eye exam records at this location and they want me to pay again because that was not included in the eye exam that I already paid. When they absolutely have it because they need it for the pair of glasses I got there. Is a total rip off because they pretty much forcing me to go pay again which I will not and definitely puts a sour taste in my experience with Lens crafters. I had called around to find out who could put prescription progressive lenses (distance & reading) that also get dark when you go into the sun into my favorite "discontinued" Ray-Ban clear frames. Everyone said NO, we can't do that. I went to the Sunglasses Hut and talked to Elaina. She was very helpful and said that they weren't able to do what I needed and she referred me to LensCrafters who they work with. I then walked down stairs to see them and I spoke with Ian. I'm already totally impressed with two different people that could not really help me, but tried to and sent me to someone they thought could help!! Because the frames are discontinued Ian recommended that I take them to their Burbank location rather than him shipping them and USPS possibly breaking them. I agreed and told him that my USPS driver had delivered to me (3 different times) 100-150 year old clocks in pieces. He also said that he could ship a red brick and it would be in pieces when received. After picking up groceries I decided to try my new glasses before heading home and realized they didn't have all the features I had ordered and paid for so I went back in. Again, they were extremely busy and I was more than frustrated. Silvia finally had an opening to assist me. She took the time to explain everything to me and how the features worked. The eye exam was actually professional but know that it's an independent business working under a co-op umbrella with LensCrafters. The other reviews are correct! They waste your time and the employees are rude! I arrived 10 mins early for my 3:20 appointment and was pretty much sitting around twiddling my thumbs. I tried to ask one of the girls at the front (red head) about ordering glasses from their site, and before I could even finish my sentence, she was super dismissive. Long story short, I didn't end up leaving until well after 5 because they forgot about me in the waiting room after I saw the doctor. This was my first and last time coming here. read more

Dr. Wong used to be the greatest eye doctor here and it seems that she's tired of her job. I took my mom in and she did nothing but project attitude and OBVIOUSLY making fun of my mom with her student in training. She looked so upset and extremely bothered that we came in during her lunch hour I'm guessing (12:40) which was available on their website? It didn't make any sense for her to give any attitude and kept correcting my mom and treating her as if she was stupid or a child. She kept rolling her eyes and not explaining in detail what was going on with my mom or talking to her as if she could understand the medical terms if we never heard it before. We would ask her to elaborate the meaning so we could understand our next steps and she continued to act like brat. Once we were done she walked out carrying her lunch box and as we waved bye saying thank you, she proceeded to walk out rolling her eyes. If you're tired of your job, just quit or go home early there's no reason to treat your patients so crappy Also you could purchase your glasses on line for cheaper, these workers will over charge you. They will make it seem like they're helping you but they are not. read more

This LensCrafters is like a car dealership for glasses. Poor customer service and a real push to sell you something. My husband and I visited for the first time after not seeing an eye doctor in years. We were handed a tray and told to pick out the glasses we'd purchase, before we saw a doctor for an evaluation and prescription. Once in the initial exam room we took several eye tests but the associate was rushing and mumbling through them, so we didn't entirely understand the instructions. For example, I initially failed an air puff test for glaucoma because I wasn't told what was going to happen. The entire process and appointment felt rushed and impersonal with not a lot of information provided. When selecting a pair glasses to purchase I told the associate I wanted to find something covered by my insurance. She insisted I try on several pairs and spent the entire time trying to up-sell me on nicer frames and "state of the art" lenses. I insisted on a cheaper lens option, to which she repeated, "OK, but let's try the most expensive to see what your insurance will cover. Are you sure? You're getting a great deal here." I ended up buying one pair of glasses and my husband decided not to. Neither of us liked the service or the vibe at this place and wouldn't recommend it. Bonus: When I returned a missed phone call from their number the next day to inquire whether my glasses were ready for pickup, I got a "we left you a voicemail, just listen to that" response. If I could give them Negative stars I would. Avoid this place at All costs because it will cost you way more money. In the beginning of February 2023 I came to this store and wanted to get glasses with the prescription the on-site eye doctor had given me. I brought one pair of glasses that needed to be fixed because of an accident. I purchased 2 pairs of glasses from them in addition to paying for the repair of my glasses. One pair of glasses I was purchasing was Armani Exchange brand and the other was Tiffany. In total because of my prescriptions I paid them over $850 for the repair and Two new glasses. A day or two after I ordered all 3 glasses I was admitted to the hospital & stayed there for approximately 8 days. After coming back and I called to see if my glasses were ready & they said yes(even though they never called me). I went in to pickup the glasses on February 11. 2023. At the time of pickup they only gave me the 1 pair I had given them (also Tiffany brand and the Armani Exchange glasses. I asked the girl who was helping me what about the other glasses. So she went and "checked " in the back & told me they aren't ready yet because they were "special " and would take another week to get. I was ok with that and left with 2pairs of glasses 1 my own &1 of 2 that I had purchased & paid for. I called at them at the time I got home to make sure that the other pair would be ready soon and I was told yes within the week. Long story a little shorter I have been calling & going in almost everyday since then & was told not ready. The beginning of last week I called & the story started changing. They were like we aren't sure what is going on. We will investigate & get back to you. Nobody ever called me back I was the one calling them.Finally today I spent over an hour on the phone with them & they started to accuse me of lying or having lost my mind or something. The final answer was sorry our records show that you picked up the glasses & we don't owe you anything!! This is ridiculous!! It's not $5 or $10 we are talking about here. First of all, I only came here cause it's one of the few Lens crafters in the city not in a mall & with parking. That is probably the only positive thing about my experience. Starting with the actual eye exam, the way the doctors speak to you as if you've never worn glasses before is annoyingly disrespectful. But I'm gonna fast forward to my contacts cause that's when things got annoying. Turns out during my exam a blood vessel in my eye popped. Mind you I have very sensitive eyes and still this has never happened in my life, yet the doctor had the audacity to say it was my fault and probably happened before I came in...as if she didn't notice when she was checking my eyes? Whatever, they didn't have my left side anyways so I said I would come back. Well calling them was a pain in the behind cause they either never answered or it would just ring forever. So I decided to come up, and sure enough not only they're busy but they won't l "Dispense" my ALREADY PAID FOR CONTACTS without doctors permission. So now I'm sitting here (as if my exam wasn't interrupted) waiting for a doctor WHOM IVE MET ONCE tell me I'm okay to wear the same things I've been wearing for 20 years... I didn't have a good experience here. On each of my two visits, the bathroom was about as clean as an inner city bus station's. The tech who did the initial testing with me didn't wipe down the equipment before I sat down, or after we were finished. (Maybe he did after I left the room, but I'd feel better seeing it sanitized in front of me before being seated. I was already on high alert after the nasty bathroom experience.) The tech used my glasses at one point to take measurements, then handed them back to me with fingerprints on all four lens surfaces. (At this point, I thought about leaving.) My experience with the Doctor was fine. When I tried to order contact lenses at Costco, we discovered that the prescription that I'd been given at LensCrafters didn't exist... we called LensCrafters and they agreed. I returned to LC for a new prescription and to try on a new pair of contacts, but they ordered the wrong kind (I wear Monovision / one eye reads the other sees distance). Ooops! I wasted an hour of a Saturday afternoon. I've used several different Optical businesses over the past 30 years, LensCrafters was easily the worst of the bunch. I needed a new prescription for glasses and contacts. The Dr was very careless and didn't even try to listen. I also felt she was dismissive and was just trying to give me whatever contacts and get me out of the door. None of the contacts she gave me really worked. I found out a solution by myself and called after about a month later. There was another Dr and gave me trials that I requested. Later I went to order my regular glasses and this is when I noticed my prescription was not complete. I have astigmatism and the prescription didn't include any information or corrections. I called the store and was told because that much times passed I will have to come for the appointment and to pay for it again. I tried to make them understand that it is not fair that I have to pay for something they didn't do. And she tried to tell me that my vision got fixed.... I ended up going to a different Dr and got my new prescription which did include correction for astigmatism and the consultation actually was 1/2 pay of what LensCrafters were charging. Save yourself time and money and go to a different place. read more

Bad customer service, the day I went I helped myself out and no one really assisted , just to charge me and that's it. I went in today and I received my glasses and someone tighten them so tight that there is scars on my nose and it gave me a headache . I went back in and got them " loosened" and now they are falling off my face. I wish he never touched them. When I went back someone else helped me and offered to give me the display lens. I didn't pay $600 for glasses to get a display lens. Nonetheless I am not happy. Do not go to this location if you believe in good customer service. Might return my glasses and purchase else where. One does not normally think of a LensCrafters for where you go for an ocular emergency. I have been going to a very high-end ophthalmologist for over 25 years when the need arises. However, recently, I woke up to a rather frightening situation where I was experiencing compromised vision - without warning and with no precursor. While my ophthalmologist's office did see me last minute, everything was handled very clinically and without any compassion nor reassurance addressing the human side - and without properly explaining what the next steps were and what I might expect over the next few days or several weeks. As I'd had a positive experience last summer with an eye exam at this LensCrafters - on a whim I called to ask if the senior doctor on duty might take some time to give me their opinion with the condition I was diagnosed with. Though completely booked - Dr. Wong heard the fear and pain in my voice, and agreed to see me at the end of her day to weigh in and give a valued second opinion. Not only did she take several minutes on the phone to reassure and walk me through what I was experiencing, but she invited me in so that she could show me videos that would better help explain how this might progress, and what my options would be. This wonderful doctor in a LensCrafters was far more compassionate, patient, and provided far more useful information than the ophthalmologist in Beverly Hills - and though this new doctor had no prior relationship with me, she spoke to me as if I were a cherished acquaintance and patient and friend, and went way past the time our appointment was supposed to go until I was completely caught up and had everything I needed... Even better - it turns out that I was unnecessarily frightened by some misinformation from Dr Cornell's office - so it turns out that I had spent the past 48 hours worrying about something that was very much unlikely - but had been positioned to me as if it might happen eminently. Knowing that I might at some point as a safety net wish a referral for potential surgery down the line, Dr. Wong provided some wonderful referrals, as well, should the need arise. Needless to say - moving forward - the expensive and misguided ophthalmologist I have been seeing for 25 years has lost a valuable and loyal customer... I am here to vouch that if you have any needs whatsoever from an experienced, intelligent, warm, and talented ophthalmologist - Dr. Wong's practice should be your next call. read more

A very helpful associate fixed two pair on the spot and said the third pair could be repaired and would be ready in an hour, and they were! Tried this place again because I had an emergency (contact really painfully stuck up under my eyelid). They made me wait 30+ minutes past my appointment time. Charged me 25 bucks. Doctor who saw me said definitively, "There's nothing there. I looked as far back as your eyelid goes and there's nothing there." Went home with a sample of artificial tears. Had a really painful night. Woke up and (after some persistent rubbing and digging) managed to find the contact WAS THERE and I got it out myself. Really disappointed in this LensCrafters. I took my "drug store" frames to the Burbank location on Verdugo and was told by an associate that LensCrafters DOES NOT accept drug store frames. She did not have the lab examine my frames and she did not ask for my prescription. Out of curiosity, I contacted the corporate office and told them about my "drug store" frames. Needed a frame adjustment and Steven helped me out by fitting my frames perfectly in under 5 minutes flat no waiting at all. Not only did the frames feel and look better they were accurately adjusted so that the lenses could work 50% better! Way less distortion and much clearer vision. Impressive. read more
