This LensCrafters store is a TEN: Northbrook, Illinois on Willow Road (Willow Festival shopping center). My husband was very pleased with his eye exam with Dr. Crist (pronounced "Christ.") Adrienne went above and beyond helping us find the right frame design. We were very picky, and he was committed to helping us find the right one. His associate was very attentive in fitting the frame. The manager also participated in the fitting and she worked with her team with so much respect and professionalism. Arrived early for my appointment. Waited past the appointment time and then asked and was told Dr Lee was behind and there was still another person ahead of me. It's a shame as I liked when I went to her before. Will go elsewhere now. Would have been nice if they informed me they were behind. My concern, which I do not know for certain, is they add walk-ins to the schedule which pushes those with appointments out. read more

So far I think I bought - contact lens , eye glasses , rxed eye glasses from them . Even though I was happy with the frames - the glasses are severely overpriced and cheap quality But I booked again at this store - I wanted to get my PD ( so I can buy online) and the lady who answered was elated to cancel my appointment , but they wont give the PD. See , I am not cheap - but I dont pay for any service more than it deserves , You can charge extra if you want for the PD but by flat out refusing , they are essentially saying "Hey , eventhough we overcharge you - we get money from your insurance for your 10 min eye exam , we still want to force you to buy the overpriced - low quality glasses . We enjoy making fools out of our customers " I want to reiterate that I am not looking for anything free - but you cant twist my arm in to spending money . read more

I used to really like this place, but I went in last week and it was awful. It started out okay, and the manager was very nice to us and gave us a good deal. But then it went downhill REAL quickly. The regular optometrist, who we made our appointments with, was out and instead of notifying us they just sent us to the covering optometrist. She was awful. It then took them more than two hours to finish ordering the glasses (one pair each for two people). One of the salespeople wouldn't stop trying to get us to focus on the expensive brand names even though we don't care about stuff like that. She was also trying to train a new staff member who clearly had no interest in learning/working there and the manager sat by and ignored all of this. Not to mention the trainer and trainee kept laughing to themselves in a foreign language (sounded like Russian, maybe). Five days later I still haven't heard about my glasses so I called them. Turns out they're sitting there ready to go and they just never told me. Maybe they're just having a bad week or something, but I'm not going back. read more

Dr. Fostiak was wonderful, the customer service staff was sub-par and I'm being kind on that. I really wanted to like them and gave them several chances in following up on the rebate they said was available but never provided. I also tried to resolve via the National customer service and all that came from it was a big fat waste of my time. As an optimist I'm chosing to believe I was not subject to a bait and switch pitch as they up-sold me on promise of an 'existing' rebate on the contacts I ordered, a rebate that never came to fruition. Couple of items of note: 1) Not the greatest idea for the employee there to bring a dog to work, as we all may not appreciate it. I saw it scare the poo out of a couple of people with the running up on them and barking. Seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. 2) I went there for convenience, yet there was no convenience involved. That's on me, decision wise, I should have stuck with going to an individual provider or local group. Lesson learned. 3) If I follow up by phone and email on several occasions, you should assume I'm serious enough to invest the time in writing a yelp review and not either say you'll follow through and don't and/or not respond. read more

I scheduled an appointment online for my husband at this location. I received a confirmation email which listed the date and time of his appointment and asked that he arrive ten minutes early to fill out paperwork. His appointment was at 10:00, so he arrived at 9:45 and the office was not open. He waited until 10:25, long after I would have left, and the office still was not open. I called the office later to inform them of what happened. The man I spoke with sounded surprised and did apologize, but I will not be scheduling another appointment with them. read more

Dr. Lee is the best. Even if you don't get your glasses here, I would recommend getting your eyes checked by her. Having said that, I've gotten contacts and a number of glasses here and have been happy with the results. They will work with you to make sure the lenses work well. I have had eye exams at many different places before but I tried this place out for me and my family last year. Apparently I had been wearing the wrong prescription for years and Dr. Lee recognized this right away. Prior to this my eyes had been strained when looking at screens for prolonged periods of time and I mentioned this to 2 other doctors before but other than recommending drops, they did not catch that. Now I have no eye strain issues. Dr. Lee is very knowledgeable and personable and she thoroughly explains everything she sees including anything she forsees could be a problem in the future. The staff at this Lens Crafter could use some client relationship training, with exception of one person Pam the manager is exceptional! She is amazing on what she does, she was really attentive, calm, knowledgeable and made sure every step the way I was aware and understanding what my options were and what she was doing. My experience started a disaster but she managed to save my overall satisfaction with Lens Crafter Northbrook. I had my eye exam done with them and the person at the time was not friendly at all, she took 1 hour to submit my insurance which delayed my family aptt. resulting the doctor had to hurry up since we were so late to be seen. She was not friendly or professional, that is when I requested to see the manager, which is Pam and she is handled everything so well! If you go there ask for Pam. read more

Love this location and I plan to make it my go to place for contact lenses and frames. They have a great selection of frames and the guy helping me found some cute pairs which was great. This is a review of the retail experience and does not reflect my experience with the doctor or the physical product. I've used LensCrafters for over 5 years at this point and have never experienced the poor customer service I've received from this location. It's been almost a month since I placed my order for a pair of prescription sunglasses. The delay is because the lab cancelled the order due to incorrect measurements from the store and it was followed by a string of miscommunication between the lab and store. It's almost like the company has no idea how to operate when things go wrong. This was a process that was supposed to take a week. While I understand that issues come up, I'm angry at the poor level of customer service I've received. Despite calling numerous times for status updates, I've received almost no information on the state of my glasses. When I'm told that someone will call me back to follow up, usually they do not. I usually end up calling back after not hearing anything for a few days and being told that they'll have to call me back. It's becoming clear that this store's employees are starting to get as frustrated with me as I am with LensCrafters. I honestly have no confidence at this point that I'll receive these glasses. The glasses appear to be stuck in some kind of limbo of incompetence. Use this location at your own risk. As long as nothing goes wrong with your order, you should be fine. Also, the eye exam was great. Update: my order arrived and the staff volunteered generous compensation to offset my frustration. All things considered, this store is staffed by fine people and sells fine products. read more

I had an eye exam around two years ago at this LensCrafters. I recently have been looking into getting LASIK refractive eye surgery. In order to find out whether I am a good candidate I needed to get a history of my eye exams. Although the eye exams are medical records this LensCraftes refused to give me a copy of my eye exam results because they had expired. I'm pretty sure I have a legal right to my own records yet the clerk denied me a copy of my records. I assume that they do this because they want to charge me for another exam. I hope to file a complaint with the better business bureau concerning this refusal to give me access to my own records. read more

Needed glasses before benefits ran out this year and wandered into this store. While the prices and selection were limited, the eye exam with Dr. Fostiak made it worthwhile. I will in all likelihood do a more thorough search for product in the future, but working with Dr. Fostiak was definitely worthwhile. As for the staff, my wife and I came in during the week and the staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The two guys and one young lady were especially helpful, sorry I didn't get any names. Fantastic place to get eye wear. Walked in there needing a replacement pair of glasses and was greeted with friendliness and enthusiasm. Great environment, everyone is extremely happy and helpful. All of my concerns were listened to and addressed. I was brought a plethora of glasses to try on which eliminated me walking through the entire store checking every section out (which I hate). I had a wonderful experience when I bought my glasses here. First of all I'd like to mention the very friendly staff, there was the ever so perfectionist manager Jackie, who made sure that everything about your glasses purchase was, well, perfect! Then Stefania, a lovely Italian woman who examined me and there were more high tech machines there than at my old eye doctor's office. I also met Lori, who was also quite nice. I felt like I had a much more thorough exam and when I did meet the eye doctor she gave me tips on how to keep my eyes healthy. The women there were very competent but also very fun and I had a great time picking out my lenses. I decided on a pair of Burberry glasses and they weren't that much. They have a great selection and a huge price range! My insurance, which covers basically nothing, covered more than I thought. My glasses came really fast and I just never had more fun buying a pair of glasses. read more

I just picked up my third pair of glasses from LensCrafters Optique. The staff really knows what they are doing. I have a difficult prescription to fill and the staff understands this. In my case, it's nice to look stylish but with my poor eye sight, vision is number one. They know how to make sure i am getting the best vision possible and still look stylish. I had assistance in choosing frames from Aminah, who was honest and sweet. Finally, the measurements and lens choosing was with Shahla who also was great. my husband and i went there for an exam by Dr. Lee...she was kind, brilliant, helpful...Stefani measured my husbands eyes and face to make sure the glasses would fit. Tammy the manager helped us select a few pair of frames and she did not give up when my husband and i had different opinions as to what looked good on him ( he chose one he liked and i got one i liked the best on him). They all made us feel welcome, wanted, they explained the process, they made sure we got the discounts that were advertised. They had the glasses made in a few days which was ahead of what they estimated it would take. It was such a positive experience for both of us. He came home and tried on the glasses he just picked up so i had to write. He looks great, and this is coming from a wife of almost 39 years. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Judith Lee. She is fabulous and it makes me sad not to see her anymore but the customer service at the store is what will prevent me from going back. First, let me say she is awesome. Spent a ton of time helping me with contact lens 101 and really knowledgeable about all things eye. You want a thorough eye exam, go see Dr. Lee. Last year when I went, I needed new lenses and they wanted me to send my frames in to get the lenses fitted. This means I would be without my glasses which is impossible because I am blind without them so I had to buy expensive new frames. I saved the other frames and brought them in this year so I wouldn't have the same problem. The front desk guy said my frames were kind of dry but he'd send them. He then proceeded to break said frame in front of my eyes when he popped the lens out. No apology and quite frankly I'm not convinced he didn't do it on purpose. I asked him what I should do and he shrugged and said he'd give me 40% off a pair of new frames (which by the way is the standard promo running right now). So basically I wasn't willing to pay them for some expensive new frames and he offered zero alternatives. I'll buy my glasses online now as I refuse to give this store any more of my money. Oh BTW I had ordered contacts already with him and when he rang me up he said "well it's only $243 today". Dude, $243 is a lot of money to me. read more

Dear Lens Crafters, you had one job. I ordered one pair of sunglasses and one pair of regular glasses. I got a call today, "Your glasses are ready." So I went over to the store on my lunch break. Only one pair was ready. (They were ordered a week ago.) I understood because the regular glasses were supposed to take longer anyway. The optician brings over the sunglasses. Except they weren't the sunglasses. They were the regular lenses in the sunglasses frames. Re-do is necessary. It will take another week. No thanks. This is my second experience with Lens Crafters. (The first time was at the Old Orchard store in Skokie.) In that case, I ordered two pairs of glasses. Got a call. "Your glasses are ready." But only one pair was ready; the sunglasses. The other pair wasn't ready because...wait for it...the frames I ordered were no longer available. No one bothered to call me to tell me so that I could come in and select another pair.
