Big rip off. I have insurance that offers lenses with a $20 co-pay. The gal helping me (don't recall her name, young, heavy make-up, long hair and overweight) flat-out lied to my face. I asked if I can just get the lenses for $20 co-pay she said no, we don't have them. Come on honey, my mother worked as an optician, I know the drill. The Coach sunglasses I wanted to buy I left behind and did not purchase. Instead went home, ordered the EXACT SAME PAIR on-line (lenscrafters.com) with the $20 co-pay lenses - paid $67 total with my insurance. The gal that tried to rip me off tried to get me to think she was giving me a deal for the same Coach sunglasses over $160 with my insurace. People, don't waste your time going to this place - they LIE TO YOUR FACE and try to upsell just to get a better commission. The gal even told me that one insurance company covers all lenses so she sells them the most expensive, Verilux or something like that. I will go back ONLY to have this gal adjust my new sunglasses when they arrive. The eye doctor is awesome, beware of the money hungry sales people. read more

A couple of years ago I walked into the Westfield Mall in Palm Desert and was so impressed with the person that waited on me that I posted a complimentary review and I would again for this store location. However, last December I made the mistake of dropping into their other location across the street at 72393 Highway 111 (near Bed Bath & Beyond) and bought another pair of glasses. Today, nearly three months later, I dropped by again to have the glasses tightened for the first time since purchasing and a salesperson, Allison, said the frame was cracked and could not be adjusted and the store's Manager, Daniella A., would only allow a 15% discount off of a replacement purchase. Three months old, really!! I tried to contact Customer Service only to spend the next hour getting dropped twice while waiting for a live operator "Laurence" in the Claims Dept., who was, of course, of no help. I then contacted the store Manager, Nini, across the street back at the Lens Crafters in the Westfield Mall and was given a new pair of glasses at no cost. I hope that the difference in customer service is noted here with again the Westfield Mall having a far better staff-I'm sure Allison and Daniella across the street won't mind losing the business as they can barely handle more than two clients at a time anyway. read more

I ordered a new pair of glasses in Dec 2021 and have since returned way too many times to replace cracked lenses (for unknown reasons). I was offered a new pair of glasses, after the replacement lenses started cracking again, about a month ago, and still the replacement pair is not in. I wont be purchasing any more glasses from LensCrafters as their lenses are clearly defective. I don't have time to waste chasing this. read more

Do you have ALL DAY to wait to see the doctor boys and girls? If yes, then this is the clinic for you. It certainly didn't work for my wife and I. Once upon a time, we had appointments with Lens Crafters in the Desert Crossing Shopping Center to be seen at 10:40 and 11:40 as one of us had to be home with our 10 month old twins and we live just 1 mile away. My appointment went well, until it there was a delay in seeing the doctor because of a "difficult patient". I said no problem with the wait, but explained about my wife's upcoming appointment and our situation. The tech Krystal (hence forth to be known as "big liar") said they could move her appointment back to 12:20. I complete my exam and was home by 12:10. My wife arrived at 12:15 and was not even checked in until 1:00. She was then told she would not be seen by the doctor until 2:00. Big Liar then lied to my wife explaining that it had been explained to me that she would be waiting this long. My wife eventually got a portion of the exam done, but had to leave and reschedule. I followed up by phone, Big Liar continued to lie and the store manager, Daniella (hence for to be know as "Horrible Clinic Manager") believed her tech (as the saying goes "the tech is always right"). Well, Horrible Clinic Manager said I could follow up with her boss, which I will. However, I thought I should issue this warning to others so they don't fall prey to Big Liar and Horrible Clinic Manager. The moral of the story is don't go to Len's Crafters near Target in Palm Desert. We will be going back to the Costco Eye Center and living happily ever after. read more

Came to pick up my already paid for glasses and was told "We're closed ". They would not open the door. It was literally 5mins after closing.. and they said "We already closed the registers' what does " Already paid for mean to you?" Now I am back fir the 3rd time and they are short-staffed I have spent so much time here trying to decide whether I should have gotten progressives or just reading and distance, and have gotten different answers from their staff. Now that Is have the glasses, neither of them work for me. Here on a Sunday and they are understaffed, and I am told I will have to wait 20 minutes. This company is purely and simply out to make a profit. They're a perfect example of the inhumane corporate business culture that has ruined America. I'll tell you my story, and you can decide for yourself if it's the kind of business you believe in supporting. I bought my first pair of prescription sunglasses there 3 years ago after my new puppy destroyed the one's I had. I bought the insurance for the new specs, but I never needed it because I ended up losing the sunglasses the Tuesday before this past Thanksgiving. I saw an optometrist the Friday after Thanksgiving, and I took the new prescription directly to LensCrafters. I spent a total of $785.76 on two pair of eyeglasses: one pair of sunglasses and one pair of clear lenses. During the purchase I was reminded that I never used the insurance so, happy to save a little money, I declined to purchase it again. HUGE mistake. I picked up the glasses Friday afternoon and enjoyed them for three days until my dog (accidentally) destroyed them on Monday afternoon. I called LensCrafters immediately to see how much it would cost to replace the scratched left lens, and I was told they couldn't replace a single lens. Okay, I didn't altogether understand why, but I didn't argue. The price I was then quoted for replacing both lenses was greater than the total price I paid for the eyeglasses! Yes, this is the absolute truth. It may or may not have something to do with the discount that came with buying multiple pairs of eyeglasses, but I don't care. I had the glasses for a total of 3 days. If this company had any moral decency, they would understand life's vicissitudes and have compassion for their customers facedextraordinary circumstances. I think they should have offered to replace my lenses at cost. Too audacious? I'm not asking for anything for free. I'm asking to be treated like a human being by other human beings. Tried to replace my lenses today and had to deal with LensCrafters trying to take advantage of their customers. The woman helping me lied about the lens options available in stock in their store. She attempted to say they only had the more expensive lenses and had to do a special 10-day order for the basic plastic lenses. Yet when pressed repeatedly finally said the lab can do the basic lenses. It is hard to use a company with good deals but that doesn't care about their customers. read more

ZERO IS MY RATING!! no I wasn't happy at all I couldn't even get seen. I made my appt for 12:00pm considering we all work so rushing over during lunch I arrived early filled out paperwork, waited till 1 pm then asked how much longer it would be until im seen, the employee said the doctor doesn't rush his patients he goes over everything, well then, I asked why not schedule new patients by the hour instead of every 20 min. I left I couldn't wait any more. I thought well lets give them another try so I reschedule at the other location in the mall for the next day I scheduled at 5:20pm. Purchased two pair of glasses. One was mailed to me at our post office box without an issue. After a month I called to check on the status of the other pair. Placed on hold twice and the manager explained they could NOT mail to the P.O. Box. Place on hold again to determine where they mailed the first set which I told her I had received. After another wait, the manager then explained she missed the notice that they could mail to P.O. Boxes and asked again if I had received them. For the third and final time I advised I had. She then rudely said they would mail them. Like I was the problem. They need listening lessons, as well as reading notice lessons. read more

I had the absolute worst experience in my 16 years of wearing glasses. I had an eye exam and purchased both a frame and lenses on February 16th. Almost 6 weeks later today on march 25th and I came in to have them tell me they cancelled my order. Through the past 3 weeks I've been calling and being told "oh just one more week" every time. I was told it would not be more than 2 weeks from the time of purchase. I was also told at the time of purchase that they only needed to order a single lens because they had one lens in stock already. So for me to have waited almost 6 weeks and then have my order cancelled was a slap in the face. I will never be giving my business here again and I would advise others to steer clear as well. read more

my kid's regular optometrist was booked solid for months, decided to come here. Big mistake. When she got her glasses, the prescription and lens type was wrong. They fixed for free, then they lost the glasses. They finally found them a few days later. Went in to pick them up, 40+ minute wait just to pick them up. Feels like a Walmart in here. read more

The associate who originally helped me was amazing and I was told two weeks. I called a week later and was told they had them both but needed to be cut. Went in at two weeks as I needed to get a copy of my receipt and got one pair but then told they had to cut the second pair. Told by an associate that he would have them cut that upcoming Tuesday. Called on Thursday after they were done and then told they were being expressed mailed from the location they were being cut at. Three different stories and none consistent. Will not ever use this store again after and when I finally get my second pair as I already paid for it. She took care of all my needs and made sure I had my sunglass prescription promptly before I left for my trip. Because they already had my prescription on file I had no need to make an appointment. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! You will be wasting your time and money. I've been going to Lens crafters for 15 years in Newport Beach California and I just moved to the desert and tried the Lens crafters here and let me tell you something these people are the worst. If they're on time, which they never have been in my three visits, you will wait at least an hour for your appointment. Then your appointment will last no more than 15 minutes. Then you will be sent home to try contact lenses or overcharged for lenses or when you call back to try to speak with your doctor they won't even know when the doctor is coming back because the doctors don't even leave their schedules. Both doctors refused to answer my questions and are on a time schedule that's turned this place into an eyeglass factory... not caring about the customer or the questions they might have. I was there yesterday for an eye exam and my doctor was David haitz, great Dr great personality ,knows how to use the tools and has the experience. it's great.I was greeted by Sarah, Sarah is provides great customer service. you just can't get better. she shows where you can get a coffee ,water ,etc. She keeps you informed of what's going on this place gets 5 solid Stars. read more

APPALLING is the only word to describe the outrageous price gouging and upselling that I experienced. I went into the Palm Desert Crossing store in Palm Desert, CA on 10/24/17 around noon. I have been a Lenscrafters customer at the Brea store and in the last few years, the Palm Desert store for a total of about 8 years. I went to the store to purchase a new pair of glasses. The first pair I chose I was told would not work with my prescription and since while I was browsing I happened to see the EXACT SAME PAIR OF VERSACE FRAMES I AM CURRENTLY WEARING, I decided to just go with those again. I was dealing with one person who was "training" and she was assisted by another woman who then got up and left and then another woman came over to assist the trainee. After looking up my account and "running her numbers", she announced the price would be $590. I was shocked at this price. I had mentioned to the previous salesperson that I have the VERY same pair currently but this third woman who came over didn't hear me say that and she wouldn't have seen it in my purchase history since I bought them from the Brea store. When I said I will not pay $590, her response was "the frames are $213". Further evidence that she didn't hear me say I have the very same frame at home. Once I arrived home, I located my sales order for the Versace frame I am wearing and saw that I paid a total of $329.40 for the frames, the lens package and store services. How can they suggest that an additional $377 in services on a pair of $213 frames is justifiable? . This is one of the most egregious instances of price gouging I have experienced. How are they training people? Throw out an outrageous price and see if they bite and then if they don't we'll negotiate it down? What they should be doing is giving the customer the frame price and the cost of filling the prescription, then you can ask the customer if they want any additional services and you can outline the services. Had I not purchased the very same glasses before, I would not have been wary of the price she offered. Having been a Lenscrafters customer for many years, today I went to Costco and purchased a pair of Oakley prescription glasses. I will not be returning to Lenscrafters and I will strongly suggest my husband not return either. This is no way to do business if they want to keep customers coming back. Unfortunately for her, she didn't realize I had already purchased the same pair because it was from another store that didn't show on my purchase history in the Palm Desert store. Shame on her, shame on Lenscrafters. Money is power and I'll spend mine elsewhere. read more
