Not only did the lens get fitted back in, they took the time to bend the frames back into the original shape (it's been wonky for MONTHS) They saved me several hundred dollars by fixing these frames. I honestly regret getting an eye exam here. They were able to check me in quickly and start the exam on time, but I just feel like I wasn't completely taken care of in the way that I should've been. My eye exam felt a bit rushed compared to previous exams, so I am a little hesitant to see if the glasses that I am going to order will possess a prescription that is actually fit for my eyes. After the exam, I went into the LensCrafters area to try on glasses. Before my exam, I had considered a few pairs that I wanted to try after the exam. However, the customer service was just not very good. The CSR seemed sort of over it, which I totally get as a customer service worker, but at the same time, I wasn't really asking them to do anything... I kept trying on glasses, but none stuck out to me, which is totally fine. I told the CSR I would consider more options online, which is exactly what I did. After browsing the LensCrafters website, I found a pair of glasses that I absolutely loved. I went to provide my prescription, but then it asked me for my pupillary distance... I had no idea what that was. I called up LensCrafters and Sexton Vision Group. They told me they do measure pupillary distance and that they charge a $20 fee for it. The fee is not what I care about at all. I simply wish that they had offered to provide me with a measurement that I NEED in order to get prescription eyeglasses. I am aware that there are online tools, but after trying several of them, they all give me completely different measurements. I could do it myself, but the whole reason I need glasses is because my vision is bad, so I honestly do not trust myself to do it properly. I could have avoided all of this, had they offered the service. Plus, they would have made extra money from my appointment due to my willingness to pay that fee. I feel so bummed out because I drove over an hour just to go to LensCrafters because I thought they were more trustworthy than a typical eye doctor. Man was I wrong.... read more

This is being kind. The staff is unhelpful at best. First visit, yes I had to go back twice, their tablets could not look up my insurance. So, 20 minutes in, I walked out and said I'd come back. Thus my second visit! Went back days later. Tried on my glasses and found a different pair. After being skipped in the queue, finally a person helped us. Insurance worked this time, seems we have the best one for my needed glasses! Great. Scan the glasses I handed them and was told those don't bring anything up. Um, what? I asked so what next? I was told well they don't bring anything up. So I asked them to get me comparable ones. They looked at me like I was crazy. Then said, "you want me to go pick out others?" Yeah. You are the customer service agent! I said here on the side are the measurements. Same please and blues, greens etc. no black. After 15 minutes of them walking the store, I walked over to tell them I was done. They were holding red, black and brown frames. They said I was gathering your choices. I explained I'd already tried 2 of the three pairs on already and they were a no. I walked out. Went to Pearl vision and bought 2 pair of glasses from the nicest CSR ever! I will not even bother next time. I love my eye doctor there, but the LensCrafters staff are all too busy to assist. read more

I called the South Hill Puyallup location on Monday at 2:17 pm and asked if the eye doctors take our insurance for eye exams, the lady said she would go back and ask and put me on hold. When she came back she said yes we do take your insurance, you'll just need a copay if you opt into the retinal imaging. Perfect, that's what we did last time. We had to leave work (losing money), drive all the way to the mall (gas money) just to be told when we arrived for our 2:20 appointment "so, you're out of network" in a very snotty tone (in front of my toddler mind you, very upsetting). When I explained that someone there told me that my insurance was covered she rolled her eyes and just repeated the exact thing "so, you're out of network", again rudely. No apologies, no trying to figure out what happened, why I was lied to essentially. Just the four employees all staring at us judging, we just told them to cancel and walked out. Terrible customer service, we lost time and money. Make this right. read more

I would rather give ZERO stars the customer service is awful, and because of them being short staffed, I came in for a contact appointment I made months ago and they said "We'll have to wait about six weeks to do the training." Ordered two pairs of glasses, one came in with a bad prescription, the other (computer glasses) were much to heavy to wear 8 hrs, while on the computer. Everything far-sighted was very blurry. I had to have both redone. That was on Monday August 18th. I asked to be notified when both pairs were ready for pickup. September 2nd I received notification to pick up. Only one pair arrived. I was told UPS would arrive soon. I waited 2 hrs, no UPS. On September 3rd, I received notification to pickup but I missed that notification. On September 12th I called Lenscrafters to check on delivery and was told the glasses were not in and the clerk would find out why and get back to me. No one got back to me. On September 22nd I called again and was told my glasses have been there since September 3rd. 19 days my glasses have been there, no one bothered to check with me or send another notification??! Customer service at this Lenscrafters is severely lacking! It wasn't this way when Allen managed the floor. read more

I scheduled an appointment online for this office. I received an email confirmation for the appt and no further communication. I arrived to the office and hey could not find my appointment. They went to investigate and a really nice gentleman spoke to me about potential glasses. I was then told to sit and they would call me back. Next a doctor comes out and tells me that she has been trying to call and email me all week. She claimed they had the wrong number on file. I checked my email and nothing from them. She said I did not fill out paperwork and they had no time to verify my insurance. Then she said that she was fully booked. I take my son to the LensCrafters in Federal way and they verify his insurance in 5 minutes (even the very first time). In addition, I completed the pre paperwork when I scheduled the appointment online. I would have been more than understanding had they just said this was a glitch in this system and they were sorry and would help me reschedule. But to have them try to blame me for not filling out paperwork and trying to claim they emailed me when they didn't is not ok. read more

I have bought glasses here before and had a mediocre experience. I tried to re-order glasses today with a new prescription and was told that I needed to fax or bring in my prescription to their office. I reminded them that it was the year 2023 and that no one has faxed anything in 20 years. I asked for any other outside the box option such as sending a text message or an email and was told none of those options were available. I am pissed of with the doctor while examining me she was rushing!!! Didn't get the right grade for my eyes! I will never come back here again I feel dizzy because she gave so high grade 2.75 and 2.59 I even ask her to adjust it because I feel dizzy and nothing change I feel sick wearing it, It is outside the network of my insurance that is why I spent copay which is waste of money! and I prefer my old eye glasses 1.75 both eyes they are more correct. Terrible customer service from Brian and the older lady with a British sounding accent. Completely ignored me for 40+ minutes while they both served one customer at once. No acknowledgment whatsoever from either. I finally sat down on a stool and the lady with a British sounding accent asked if I was waiting for an appointment (which I already had), to which I responded no I'm waiting for help with glasses. She was cold, rude and not helpful whatsoever. She was asking questions about lenses with zero explanation. I final asked to be helped by a young lady Taylor who was actually nice and helpful. I have been using lens crafters since 2018 and This was the ABSOLUTE worst experience from lens crafters I have ever had. After my glasses come in, I'll never return here. Hands down the worst eye doctor's office I have ever been to. The wait to be seen was ridiculously long. I spent a total of 2 hours at the office and majority of the time was spent waiting. The doctor had seen me and had me put the trial lenses on and was no where to be found for 30 minutes. The staff didn't even know I was there and had thought I left already. For a contact fitting it was very high pricing... I highly suggest going to a non-franchise office. The only reason I decided to come to LensCrafters was because they have a very open availability [now I know the reason why for their open availability] and I needed contacts ASAP. My appointment was February 3rd and I called last week asking for the update on my contacts and they said that they're waiting on the other lens. I get a call this past Friday about my lenses being ready which is 18 DAYS AFTER my appointment. I have never in my life waited for contact lenses for this long and I have worn contact lenses for 14 years now. I call the office back to pick up my lenses and they tell me I have to book ANOTHER APPOINTMENT because the the doctor requested it... BUT I have to see the exact same doctor I saw and he only works on Mondays and Tuesdays [such an inconvenience]... This is honestly the most absurd thing ever. I have never been to a place where I can't just pick up my contacts. Apparently this is "their policy," but they did not tell me anything when I was getting the fitting or even after I was fitted. They told me the contacts would be ready within the next week and that was it. AVOID this place at all costs or you'll end up wasting your time and money like me. read more

Found some Raybans online priced them out went to store to try on and order. She said they couldn't do the price that was online. Never explained why. We saw the terrible customer service reviews before we visited but, since we were just buying frames, we decided to try it out anyway. During our entire visit, none of the three associates even greeted us. I'm not sure why they ignored us specifically (they did offer their services to another customer that arrived while we were looking). It was incredibly awkward browsing the glasses next to their desk without a word being said. In the end, I did find a pair that I liked quite a bit, but I chose to go to Pearle Vision instead. The idea of giving away $200 for terrible customer service was too tough to swallow. My husband and I have been going to LensCrafters at the South Hill mall for years and have always been satisfied. Most recently we had the pleasure of working with the store Manager, Alicia. She's very knowledgeable about their products and how vision insurance works. She helped us discover that our coverage was better than we thought and saved us a bunch of money that we would have otherwise spent out of our pocket due to being uniformed. In addition, we accidentally made an error when ordering our glasses and she went out of her way to fix the mistake despite that it was our error. I highly recommend LensCrafters and will continue using them for years to come! read more

I love LensCrafters at the South Hill Mall. This was my second appointment since getting my eyes checked and getting new glasses two years ago. The Sexton Vision Group, which is the eye doctors there at LensCrafters, reminded me that I needed to get my eyes examined since it has been a couple of years so I scheduled an appointment. But on the day of my appointment, for some odd reason, I went to LensCrafters at the Tacoma Mall! So I called the LensCrafters at the South Hill Mall and told them what I had done and they had no problem fitting me into their schedule that same day! Plus all of their eye examination equipment is new and state-of-the-art! So my eye exam went great! Now the fun part was picking out a new pair of glasses and there just happened to be a sale going on! Which was buy one pair get the second pair for half price! I had an eye exam scheduled here for a new prescription for contacts and eyeglasses. We have routinely gotten eye exams and ordered vision care here since 2021 with no problem. I was asked into the back before they finished verifying insurance, as my father is the primary insurance policy holder and was finishing forms. We made it through the exam before being notified that there was an insurance mistake and as a result we needed to cancel the appointment as we didn't want to pay the significant out of pocket fee. Expressing her frustration in front of me, our doctor described the situation as "a complete waste of her time" and displayed extremely poor patient care in the form of storming out of the room, only speaking to me as an afterthought. I understood that the situation was frustrating, but to express her frustration in front of us was extremely unprofessional and off putting. Being made to feel like just a number or a wallet ESPECIALLY when it comes to healthcare of any sort contributes to present distrust in our medical systems and it was extremely saddening to see this behavior displayed here. We were told that we were notified about the insurance mishap in our appointment confirmation but can confirm there was absolutely nothing mentioned about it in the phone call we received. read more

Lens crafters had to be the WORST customer service I have EVER had. Showed up at 230 & they had an eye appointment for 440. Cool. I go eat with my 3 year old and walk around for a bit. He ends up pooping at literally 430, so I had to walk to target which is at the other end of the mall and get diapers and wipes and change him. I called and said "I'm changing him now and I will be there!" And I was told sorry there's only a 10 min grace period. I said I was hurrying and to please hold my appointment. I was literally walking out of target right then. My 3 year old is disabled so he walks with a limp and slow. I tried to carry him but I'm recovering from a life threatening blood clot in my lungs and not even supposed to be lifting him, I got winded halfway and had to set him back down and just try to walk as fast as he was able to. I got there at 453. 3 mins past the cut off time and they said too bad so sad I'm out of luck. I said "really?? Because my child pooped and I didn't want him sitting in it while I had the exam done? And because he's disabled and limps so it took us a few mins longer? Really?" And they said yeah too bad. That has to be the cruelest thing. Not only that, but I canceled my car being serviced when it's 400 miles past due because my glasses broke and I cannot see without them. So now I have a car past due, a child who's screaming because his legs hurt from that rushed walk to their business and I'm no closer to having fixed glasses. Do NOT GO HERE. Doctor Bailey is VERY RUDE and said she didn't care what our situation was, she refused to help. I now see why this location has only 2 stars. What AWFUL humans who work there. read more

I went to LensCrafters to have my perscription glasses put into an old frame of mine that I really liked but the person helping me was not helpful at all. Everything from her tone to what she said to me was very negative because, it seemed, I was not purchasing frames. My lenses usually cost around $400. I asked if I could get them tinted with a specific color and she said she didnt know and just stood there, so I asked her to please ask someone who knew. After finding a sample of the color I wanted with the help of another, she told me that they would have to send out my frames because they were not theirs and I would have sign something that said they are not responsible for any damage to the frames. I would not get them back for at least a month and there was no way to rush. Because her attitude was so negative I told her never mind, I will go elsewhere. Went to Pearl Vision, easily picked out my lenses and paid. Should have my new glasses in two weeks! read more

This place has a huge selection to choose from! The sales girls working the floor were both nice! The optician guy working the floor is a little obnoxious. He tried to pushed me getting a new eye exam because I was approaching my 2 year (still was months away & my insurance would not cover another exam). However all I needed was new sunglasses because mine were all scratched up. He made really snarky comments that really were not necessary and made me feel uncomfortable. First let's get to the reality - Lenscrafters is owned an operated by a glasses manufacturer - that said, this is a business and as such they take insurance and they have prices available for those who don't have insurance. I don't have insurance - husband forgot that we needed to add it when we married since he works for a glasses manufacturer. The price for an exam here rivals or beats any other optometrist in town. My husband's cost was twice as much as mine with another doctor and he WAS covered by medicare AND by insurance. Check with YOUR INSURANCE before going to ANY doctor - even staff may not know and may not tell you anything legally binding or protective. Now, getting to the Five Stars I feel this location of LensCrafters deserves. I am ill; I have Lupus and fluorescent lighting not only causes me nausea it causes me deep and desperate pain. Once it was obvious that I WAS ill and that I really could not take the light , I was placed into a darker room - the nausea subsided until I went out into the hall again to do one of the tests - wish that one was in the darker room :) but hey, they did WELL for a RETAIL location that has no power over the "kind" of lighting, they have. Dr. Kyle Sexton was beyond kind. He's thorough, knows more about my condition than most MDs or DOs and FAR more than any eye doctor MD or otherwise has known in YEARS. Refreshing to say the least. Amazing to be precise. I mentioned that I had glasses but hadn't had contacts in years (about ten). He asked to see the glasses I had been using for the past five or so years. He came back a minute or two later and told me that my prescription was NOT right - and asked if I ever had headaches when I wore them? Of COURSE I get headaches from the glasses, I get MIGRAINES , I thought my migraines had come back with a vengeance - finding out that I have been driving and walking around without the best vision possible (and getting injured from not being able to see MANY times in MANY retail stores and at home) makes me FURIOUS at my past doctors, concussions I would NOT have, scars, damage... geeze. WELL! After all is said and done and to make a VERY much longer story a bit shorter, I have contacts and reading glasses WITHOUT the "astigmatism" added that all other doctors SAID I needed in my contacts - what a COST savings and what a DIFFERENCE it makes to see after FIVE YEARS or more of NOT seeing clearly! I have been walking around on cloud nine all day and all night! Know when I really fell in love with my new contacts and was REALLY ok with reading glasses on the computer/reading? It was when I took the pasta off the stove tonight I poured the pasta into a stainless steel strainer (sorry I can't do plastic, neither should you!) and did NOT have FOG keeping me from seeing AND burning my hands or face in the process. Dr. Kyle Sexton is one of the best opticians ever. Nice. Good sense of humor and doesn't rush an ADHD woman who babbles and tears up from tremendous relief at being able to SEE again! read more

Bought the OG220 LS safety glasses and the rubber nose piece started falling off within 2 months. Took them in to be told it wasn't their problem, but the guy sure tried to get me to buy a new frame... Adhesive that is used had formed a sharp edge that was exposed when the nose piece fell all the way off. Rubbed a raw spot on my nose. read more

Great personal attention! I wanted to switch from contacts to glasses this year, so after my eye exam (at a different location) I shopped around at a few stores looking for the perfect frames. The selection at LensCrafters was by far the best, and the salesman, Ron, made the experience very enjoyable. I gave him an idea of what I had in mind, and my price range. He let me know which section had the prices I was looking for, and stood by me offering suggestions and surprisingly knowledgeable critiques of the frames I was trying. I narrowed my selection down to two choices, and he had me sit at a desk and look at photos of myself wearing both of them. I was hopelessly torn, and I think he could tell a little underwhelmed with both, because he had me wait for a second while he retrieved a pair from the more expensive section. As soon as I put them on I was sold. He really has an eye for frames that will flatter your face shape, and these were perfect, even though they were not at all what I thought I wanted. He helped me navigate my two vision plans, and even got me a discount so that they came in just under budget. Ron really made the entire process painless, even filling out the forms that I would have to send to the secondary insurance for me. That was in January, and I have been thrilled with my glasses ever since then. I noticed today a tiny scratch on one lens, so I called up the store. I spoke with Ron again and he remembered me! He confirmed that I had a protection plan, and got new lenses ordered right away. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone shopping for new glasses. read more

Today, we had a 3 PM appointment at Lenscraftersin Puyallup, WA. My husband needs to be seen. He is a new patient. When I called to make the appointment I told the woman on the phone we had VSP. She took my info down and the last 4 digits of my social and said she was taking care of the rest. Once we arrived, completed our new patient paperwork and was pulled into an exam room is when another woman informed us we were out if network. We were then informed that your sister store, Pearle Vision, was in network. I asked why nothing was said to us when we made the appointment. She responded back with, we take the insurance. It is just considered out of network. So, we went to Pearle Vision. Upon our arrival, they had an opening and we filled out the new patient paperwork again. She went to verify our insurance and Lenscrafters had already done a pre-authorization on VSP and until they released it, they could not see us. She advised us to call Lenscrafters and have the release it so it could be verified. I called Lenscrafters and spoke to Cara and I think she said her name was Olivia. Olivia said they aren't able to do release because they don't accept VSP. She said to have Pearle Vision call and do it. I went back to the woman in the brown leather jacket and told her what they said. She then laughed and said "They are passing the buck again." I am very much upsey. This is absurd. I came in today (LensCrafters - South Hill Mall) to have new glasses made. After a short conversation I found out that they no longer make the glasses in-house, they have to send them out. Instead of receiving glasses in 1-2 hours it will now take at least 2 weeks! Unacceptable! We are leaving shortly on vacation and there isn't enough time to have them made before I leave. I was told that I could go to the one in Tacoma or Federal Way. Really!?! I live 5 minutes from South Hill Mall, but whomever runs this LensCrafters thinks it's much more convenient for me to drive all the way up to Tacoma. Think again. I can go to Sears,Costco etc for the same service. LensCrafters, South Hill Mall has just lost my business. read more
