The manager Alicia is an awful person. When I asked for her manager she actually told me she doesn't have one...which is clearly not true. Her manager's name is Nicole. Alicia really thinks she is something special....you know being a manager at the Mall is quite an accomplishment ...if you're in high school. Alicia is a middle-aged woman in her late 40's/early 50's, the standards of accomplishment are different at that stage in life. Still, Alicia likes to tell customers how important she is because she manages a retail store in the mall...Plus, she actually shared the rx details of another patient with me - it was one of my relatives but the point is it is a privacy violation to share that info. She also left a print out with my name, address, etc. on a display cabinet where anyone could see it....After my appointment with the doctor it was still sitting there! So I picked it up and complained to her but she just played it down as if it was no big deal - clearly she has no concern about honoring patient privacy. To make the experience even more miserable she was trying to chit-chat (she is a terrible sales person) and was talking about her politics, telling me who she voted for and why (this was before I complained to her about leaving my personal details out). This was mid-November, right after the election. I was clearly trying to ignore her because I just wanted to get out of there but she has no grasp of social cues. She is like they portray used car salesmen on TV. I'll never go back. Oh...and the another staff member actually yelled at an old man who came in the store - apparently you need to wait outside and be invited in for now - but to be so mean and actually yell at some unsuspecting old guy (like +80ys old) who didn't see the sign was pretty aggressive. Needed a quick eyeglass repair for a pair of glasses that I purchased in Spokane a few weeks ago. (Bridge/nose pad fell off). Was promptly greeted by two associates one of which promptly and happily made the appropriate repair. Very happy with this business. read more

This place was not professional they had a discussion about a patients business in front of other patients at the front desk. You would think patient business is confidential but apparently not. At the front desk their was a white girl and an Asian guy having that unprofessional confidential discussion. read more

My husband & I have gone through Lens Crafters for years for our eye glass needs. The staff are outstanding in every way. They are professional but also personable and friendly. They are concerned that all your eye glass needs are met. I won't go anywhere else. read more

Absolutely terrible service. There is a distinct difference between private practice and commercial optometry. They are very unaccommodating. I ripped a contact in my last set while waiting for my new order to come in. They refused to give me a pair to get me through until my shipment arrived. I had a couple other issues that created a huge inconvenience. I do not recommend them to anyone. read more

My husband and I both went to the New location at the South Hill Mall and we were greeted I have to give them that, but they were very unprofessional. They were rude to their co workers & making snide remarks about the patients coming in. Also we felt we were a bearden we had questions and it seemed like they were joking about us as we walked away so we left and will never be back! We went to the one at the Tacoma mall. I originally went to this store for an eye exam due to a concern with a sudden vision change. The Doctor and staff were professional and polite. After completing the exam I went to the retail section to look around but intended to come back with my spouse to get her opinion. Instead I was heavily pressured by an employee to stay as she would, "be my wife". After picking out a frame, I expressed a desire to return to a single vision lens because progressives give me a headache. She told me that I was wrong because, "I'd never been properly fit in progressive lenses and SHE had the answer". Her answer was to pressure me into buying their company owned RayBan lenses even after admitting I could pay $80 less for a superior Varilux lens. The reasoning was, "once you've worn Varilux, you never want to change". To me that's indicative of a superior product. I was informed I had a 30 day return policy if I didn't like the lenses so I took a risk that this may be the case. As I suspected I had headaches and returned to the store to have them replaced. When I informed the store of my desire to change, I was told that the initial employee was no longer at the store. I was asked to take a seat to talk about the lenses, and was asked, "tell me the truth, how long have had them and are you wearing them consistently?". This was insulting because I'm can't see properly without them. I've had progressives for a year and knew I didn't like them. She the asked, "if I was one the those men who don't like change and won't follow instructions" which I thought was excruciatingly sexist and rude. I'm returning today to pick up my new glasses but don't intend on returning to this store in the future. read more

I stopped by this location a couple of days ago. I had talked to a lady on the phone prior to coming in and she said they could put prescription lenses in if I brought my frames in with an additional twenty percent off. I had bought a pair of Kate Spade glasses and wanted to put my updated prescription in them. When I walked in, I was greeted right away and I explained what I wanted done and I had mention my conversation I had on the phone with one of the associates. The girl who had "helped" me in the store was rude to me and mentioned several times about their three-hundred dollar promotion they had going on even though I told her I wanted to use the frames I had bought and was not interested. She then proceeded to go on her computer to type my info into their system and AGAIN mentioned their promotion. After about five minutes, she asks me if they were reading glasses and I said yes. She then told me they could not put prescription glasses into the frames because they were reading glasses and that they would break their machine. Like cmon?! They aren't over the counter!! They are freaking Kate Spades!!! I then decided to leave and on the way out she chases me to once again mention their promotion which I repeatedly told her I was not interested in! I will not be returning at this location. I actually went to LensCrafters in federal Way and they were able to do what I wanted and guess what? My frames didn't break their machine and they were super nice! read more

The customer service for LensCrafters as a whole has dropped considerably over the years. The customer service for this location in particular is nonexistent. The same day I received an appointment reminder email, I attempted to confirm following the email links. The link defaulted to the reschedule option, not confirm. I figured it was a glitch in the system. Arrived at my appointment day and time, and was told that since I didn't confirm, the appointment was given away. I scheduled this appointment originally at the end of the appointment one year prior. Yes...one year this appointment was scheduled, and 9 days before, I was unable to confirm, it appears that they gave this appointment away before I could confirm. Prior to this, I had reordered my daughters contact lenses. At the time "they will be here in 7-10 days." 2 weeks later, no contact from the store. I called them, they couldn't track the order. Took 4 calls to them to find out what was going on. 7-10 days turned into 3 weeks. Congratulations LensCrafters, you've lost 4 patients forever. Years ago, my husband worked for LensCrafters in another location. This would have never happened. read more

My husband and I needed glasses. We went to Lenscrafters, we had no idea what we were looking for. Ron greeted us, we told him what we thought we were looking for. He helped us both pick our frames. He was very good, he made great selections for both my husband and I, we were impressed. When it came time to pick lenses, he got out his ipad, showed us our options and prices, explained all the differences. Yes the price was somewhat shocking, yet we both bought glasses. I think the deciding factor was the service given us by Ron, he knows his stuff and was a delight to work with. read more

I chose this LensCrafters location because I had used it in the past for my eye exam and glasses. This time I decided to have a contact exam because I had money on a health spending account that I wanted to use before the end of the year. My initial appointment was Nov 14, 2016 in which I was provided two different contact lenses to test. I had difficulty with both which is no fault to lenscrafters, so I had to make a second appointment which was Dec 1, 2016. I was provided two additional lenses to trial. I was told then by Dr. Auyoung at the appointment to let him know which contact lenses worked out to get my prescription updated and get additional samples because at the time they did not have many (1 set of 1 style and 3 sets of the other). I called on Dec 9,12, and 15, 2016 numerous times throughout the day with no answer. When I finally got an answer I was told that I would have to make an appointment in order to pick up the contact lenses so that Dr. Auyoung could see me put them in and check for fit even though I had already been in for 2 appointments at that time and explained to the person receiving the call. I proceeded to make an appointment on Dec 16, 2016 before I left to go out of town. When I got there the clinic manager handed me contacts and told me I did not need to be seen after all. The problem is they were not the new contacts but the original two brands. Shen then tells me I will have to make another appoint when Dr. Auyoung was in before she could give me the new contacts. Finally I got another appointment on Jan 9, 2017 to see Dr. Auyoung who was confused on why I was not given the proper contacts and that he did not need to see me for an appointment. So almost 2 months later and still no prescription for my contacts and guess what no more money left on my health spending account because my balance reset to $0 at the first of the year. A waste of my time! Dr. Auyoung was great but the employees including the clinic manager had horrible customer service and I felt like I constantly got the run around, had a hell of a time getting a hold of anyone during business hours and never got called back as they promised! read more

My experience on 12/17/2015 at the Puyallup Lenscrafters was similar to that of purchasing a used car. It honestly felt like I was haggling with a used car salesman, and yet, there I was at Lenscrafters. There were so many "Feeeeatures" initially added to my glasses purchase (without my approval) that the whole process became tainted. I was made to feel guilty, like I was "missing out" if I didn't follow their advice. Also, I watched my wife experience the same thing I experienced the same night at the same store just 30 minutes before my eye appointment started. My wife's fee would have been $480.00 for progressives and frames if she hadn't got up and walked out. So anyway, I ended up ordering a pair stripped down $202.96 progressive lenses/frames. Picked them up the next day, Yaaa. Bummer, Lenscrafters ground them incorrectly. The manager agreed with me that the glasses were not done correctly. So I decided to shop Lenscrafters bifocals options instead of progressives. Afterall, all I really need is a pair of "cheap readers". This time the store manager assisted me. Guess what, she did the same thing as the saleman the day before! Again, choices of upgraded features were made for me that I didn't choose, racking up a lofty price tag. Long story short ... I've now got a pair of Oakley bifocals from Costco that cost me $82.97, and they've got all the feeeetures. By the way, my wife's bifocal glasses bill came to $480.00. And that was AFTER insurance paid their portion! Bottom line: save yourself the headache and head for costco. You'll save enough money purchasing your glasses there to pay for the costco membership. read more
