I tried to schedule an appointment here several times for my daughter. We are patients at a different office of Len's crafters. We have been denied service multiple times despite having insurance that covers them only in Salem and with them being our only option not only were they rude but once I called them out they berated me on the phone and hung up on me. We're a Hispanic family and I would be very careful taking your children here. I will be filing complaint with the right people and will make sure my situation is heard. I am still a customer of lens crafters but a different location. Beware of the terrible treatment because of they treat you like this when they don't know you imagine what goes on when they do. read more

Lens Crafters on Center St. in Salem is so great. Good customer right there to help you when you walk in. I went there today to have my glasses fixed and straightened and Ellen helped me. Had them all done in about 10 minutes. I purchased my glasses about a year ago at that location. read more

I live in California and my dad is a residential care facility in Salem. He had run over his glasses with his wheelchair and the staff tried to repair them, but they were irreparable. I called LensCrafters and talked to the store manager, Byran who took great care of us. A staff member from dad's facility brought the glasses in and within 2 hours, his new glasses were ready. I called, frantic, while in town on business. I had somehow managed to rip my only pair of contacts I had brought with me, and had no way of getting my back up pairs from home. I did, however, have my prescription with me (props to Dr. Jennifer Tran at Portland Eye Clinic for writing precriptions on the back of her business card!). I called Lens Crafters with only 34 minutes before they closed for the night. Tiara answered the phone, friendly and ready to help. I was able to make it to the store in time and Tiara checked my precription, and handed me over a trial pair of the contacts I needed, no questions asked. I recently aquired new insurance, and this experience will lead me to doing business with Lense Crafters exclusively for my eye care needs in the future. Fantastic customer service. I'll start off by saying that I love the eye clinic attached to this location. Dr. Fast is so kind to my kids, one of whom is very nervous to have her eyes messed with, and he always makes sure to explain everything clearly and answer any questions. I'm rating it lower due to the sales woman at the LensCrafters where we purchased my youngest daughters glasses after our appointment. She was attentive, helped us quickly, and had a positive attitude initially. After my teenage daughter looked through ALL of the frames several times and picked her favorite we took them to the sales woman who said, in front of my daughter, "oh, these are very cheap quality, you should go find some that are more expensive, maybe vogue?". I told her my daughter had tried on the frames she liked, it was a very long process, and these were the frames she liked the best. I also asked her if they would brake easily, if they were poor quality, as she said. She told me, "well, you get what you pay for." in a tone that definitely let me know how she felt. She then tried to up sell me on the lenses and the protection plan, with a disappointed/irritated look when I passed on both. Honestly, I felt a little embarrassed when I left there. Even though I could afford to purchase which ever frames my daughter had chosen, what if I couldn't have? What if that was all someone could afford to spend? It seemed really mean, and unprofessional. My family has been to this location a handful of times and had great experiences with other sales people. For the great clinic and the convenience we will probably go back but I'm crossing my fingers that I get a different sales woman. read more

Total rip-off. The eye exam doctors will tell you there is no association with the sales wing (because that would be illegal). Stick around long enough, however, and you will soon discover they work in collusion every day. When ready, you pick from a rather small assortment of frames, all of which are now "designer," with a fancy name logo. The cost? $145 for the exam, $120-280 for frames and $230-450 more for lenses. If you are insured, add 20% (yep!). Not insulted yet? They offer a warranty to repair broken glasses within one year for $35 more. My first pair of cost $600, including exam, and one of the cheapest options. You can get the same or better at Wal-Mart and many other stores for $200-300 total. Avoid these big chain eyewear shops like the plague! read more

Horrible salesman (not professional) Few collections. Uncomfortable atmosphere. I was return customer, and I bought more than 4 frames from LensCrafters (Washington square branch). They have great staff and management in W. S. However, when I went to salem's branch, there was only one salesman, and he was not professional and helpful at all. LensCrafters and the eye clinic (Eye Focus NW) are not related businesses other than being in the same building. Can't say enough good about the eye clinic. Can't write my feelings about LensCrafters. Spent almost two hours trying go get glasses and finally walked out as they were not accessing my vision benefits correctly. After being told a pair of poor quality glasses and lenses would cost me almos $90 AFTER insurance I walked out. Went straight to a competitor, spent 30 min, got a great set of frames and glasses for $7.89 after insurance, and had great service. Only reason I'm giving it 1star is to write a review!! read more

I came here 6 months ago...the Vietnamese woman we dealt was was terrible. I firmly new glasses as a birthday gift...for over an hr she kept trying to get us to get a name brand pair of glasses....then when she finally got it through her head that I liked these other glasses that weren't name brand she says "are you sure you don't want something nicer and more your age? These are for old people"......first off, that's incredibly insulting and you're also assuming I'm really young. She even seemed upset when we told her no we don't want the other glasses, we want this one. Then she pushed us to get all the extras...she took the joy away of getting these new glasses as a birthday gift.....and she also scratched them....we didn't even leave the store and she said that we didn't get the insurance for scratches.....the ONE thing she didn't offer us. I got the review and didn't give her a good score...I asked the store to call me back and each call was from her! She's not the manager and I refused to talk about my review to her. Moving forward, I came in today because I lost my pair at a restaurant. The woman I dealt with this time was great! I didn't catch her name but she's a sweet young Latino woman, she was very helpful and told me about the 99$ they were having so I didn't have to spend a lot. She even told me the frames I picked out were cute. She made the experience enjoyable! THIS experience gets 5 stars, the previous gets zero stars so my 3 stars equals it out. read more

The staff was pleasant and helpful. Byron the assistant manager was extremely knowledgable and efficient, an easy 5 stars. Lens crafters corporate policy to not mix and match frames and lenses when the frame attaches to the lense with studs, or policy to not sell replacement lenses for an existing frame with damaged lenses, makes a private optometrist an attractive option. If I could give zero stars, I would. The doctor who gave me my eye exam seemed very rushed and wasn't listening to anything I had to say about my previous eye issues, which he should have been the one to ask. He then dialated my eyes and told me to go wander around the store to look at frames and that he'd be with me in a few minutes. About 20 mins went by, he had been with other patients in the meantime. I was so dizzy and my vision was so blurred I had to take a seat and was confused as to why he sent me out into a bright waiting area and told me to look around knowing my vision would blur. Never asked if I had someone driving me, there was no way I could have! I couldn't even see three feet in front of me. Luckily, I had my boyfriend to take me home. Then a week later, today, I went in to see if I could apply for the card to make payments because eye glasses are ridiculously expensive but since I work full time, I figured it should be easy. The man had light hair, maybe 50 years old, heavier set, and a complete asshole. I go to the counter and he acts like I'm just burdening him with questions. I ask if there's payment plans, he just replies "no". So I proceed to ask, okay well I know there's something that I can do payments on, he replies "oh, our credit card?!" He shuffles around and says okay. So I work in retail, and I do credit card applications daily, I got out my bank card and my license to be ready for a credit check. He asked my address and my gross monthly income. Immediately, he goes, looks like you have been denied. I said that's weird you didn't ask my job how long I've worked there or for my social. He said well, sorry, looks like you didn't get approved better luck next time. He then got up and left the desk to go to the back, I'm like okay have a good one I guess. I have never been treated that way, they have no sense of customer service and he acted like he hates his job. Get a new job, sir. Because I will never reccomend anyone to go there. read more

I was traveling in Oregon when I had an eyeglass disaster -- my daughter's dog decided that they were a delicious treat. I didn't have my spare pair with me and I am blind without them. Ashley and Byron at Lenscrafters in Salem, OR went out of their way to make sure I had my new glasses in time to get my plane home, which involved contacting my optician in California to get the prescription faxed over. The service was efficient and friendly, and the prescription was exactly right. Kudos to the team there. I would definitely recommend this store. read more

I came to get glasses I think because I was getting glasses that were free to me. They told me to come back to pick them up when I did, they said they had been broke. Ok I get it we are all human so they said they would have them the next day. Came back next day, another excuse. told me 2 days came back 4 days later. Now they say 10 days what a load!! very bad customer service. read more
