I've been to this LensCrafters location three times. The first time, I saw a wonderful doctor who was kind, patient, and made the entire experience smooth. Unfortunately, my visit today was the complete opposite. The doctor I saw this time Natalie H Le was extremely short and dismissive, rushing me through the eye exam without giving me the chance to focus and compare the lenses properly. Anyone who's had an eye exam knows how important it is to have a few moments to process which slide looks clearer -- but I felt completely hurried and uncomfortable. It was one of the most unpleasant experiences I've ever had during an eye exam. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. If you plan on visiting this location, I recommend making sure you're scheduled with a doctor who genuinely takes their time and cares about your vision, not just getting you in and out quickly. read more

The only reason I'm giving two stars and not one is because Bri was absolutely AMAZING. Otherwise, the Doctor that took care of me rushed the whole appointment and it was very evident that she and the assistants were very tired. Working in a medical office myself I completely understand the rigor and stress it brings. However, I never show this negative side to my patients because I don't want to come off as unreliable or untrustworthy. I fake a smile, remain as thorough as possible and show NO signs of rushing no matter how tired I am. When the doctor checked my eyes I did not feel secure that it was thorough enough, and now I'm quite nervous that my new prescription could be incorrect due to how rushed I felt. Please do better or accommodate your patients better. read more

My family and I have been loyal LensCrafters customers since 2006. On [insert date], at your MainPlace Mall (Santa Ana, CA) location, we had three scheduled eye exam appointments -- my daughter at 4:00 PM, my wife immediately after, and mine at 4:40 PM. I am a military veteran and the Director of Software Development at a class action law firm, and my wife is a hospice nurse and team manager. Both of us left work early for these appointments -- I left my office in Irvine at 3:30 PM to ensure we were on time. We arrived a few minutes before 4:00 PM. When I entered, one staff member greeted me and said he would be right with me. I spent about 15 minutes browsing glasses, but no one checked me in until after I sat down in the waiting area. Only then did the male manager on duty begin checking me in, while simultaneously complaining about the supposed "tardiness" of my wife and daughter -- even though they were scheduled for later times and were on time. I was promptly taken in, but the problem arose with my wife's and daughter's appointments. Instead of honoring the clearly scheduled times, the manager stated that one of them could not be seen at all. Later, this explanation shifted to "we might squeeze your daughter in if there's a cancellation." At her proper appointment time, my wife was told she would not be seen, at which point she came to me during triage and told me we were leaving because the staff refused to honor all three of our family's scheduled appointments. This was compounded by deeply unprofessional behavior from the manager: He raised his voice at my wife. He attempted to pit our daughter against her mother. When my wife stepped away briefly, our daughter overheard him speaking negatively about her. We were the only customers in the store at that point, so this was not about overbooking or lack of capacity. This was about mishandling appointments and mistreating customers. We had already selected over $1,000 in eyewear for purchase that day. Instead, because of how we were treated, my wife and daughter canceled their appointments, and we walked away from that purchase entirely. This experience was a significant disruption to our work and family, and it left us shocked at the lack of professionalism and empathy shown by a manager representing your brand. Given our nearly 20 years of loyalty, I am requesting that this matter be escalated to district management. I would appreciate direct follow-up, not only with an apology but also with assurance that this behavior is being formally addressed. read more

Decided to treat myself to a pair of RayBan Meta glasses during Black Friday sale. I came here not only because of deal but decided to get a prescription with transition lenses. Staff was helpful and helped me try on try on the two sizes available in Wayfarer model I was interested in. Once I decided on size I wanted, I gave them my prescription information. Got glasses in about 7 days and went to store to pick them up. Glasses fit great and I am so far very happy with these. Love the talking and listening to music feature and was surprised how good the audio quality is. Main reason for 4 stars is the location being at a mall and only one person was working counter with 3 people ahead of me. Parking can me tough here even if its not a holiday so it is not the most convenient to get in and out of. That being said, 4 stars is not a bad rating in my opinion for this location. read more

I had gotten an eye exam, lens, and frames at this location years ago with no issues. Decided to go back for my new glasses. When I walked in I was greeted by a girl and asked if I needed help. I told her I just wanted to see their frame options. She immediately went to her manager, who approached me to tell me I needed to leave. I was so confused and asked why I needed to leave. The male manager told me the female accused me of stealing. I had been in the store a total of 3 minutes and did not have a purse with me. I even emptied my pockets. They still kicked me out. I asked for their names but they refused to give them to me. I called lens crafters customer service but they did not help me at all. Do not come to this location unless you want to be racially profiled. read more

Wow what a crack of #%^*. I walked in with my son. A male worker asked if he could help me. I told him I wanted to look at Oakley' sports glasses for my son. My son found a pair of frames he liked. I told the worker I had a prescription if he could change from shaded to clear prescription. He told me not with the frame my son picked. He showed me a different color frame but it's the same frame just different color. He also told me they can't take shaded frames and put clear. I was shocked. I left went to a different lens craft found the same frame same situation and what a shock they were able to do it. I'm sorry but the main place mall lens craft is full of it. Won't go near that store in that location again. So called them the next day and spoke to the same person who supposedly tried to help us (Brian), and when I told him that we went to another lens craft store and they were able to get us the same lens and put a clear prescription on the Fram. I did tell me he needs to reevaluate his job on what he does. He has nothing to say expect for thank you and hung up on me. It's funny how I'm looking at the other reviews and on of them is brain and he looks like the guy who tried to help us. read more

Un-well training customer service. They lied that my VSP is accepted, but actually it was not. They offered $75 discount by saying that was being my VSP coverage. They re not in network. My VSP plan covers $180 actually (what I found when I walked out into the opposite store). They were not honesty enough to keep a returning customer. I was happy with doctor Pham, she was nice. Not the young guy is in front (he said my FSA account did not have enough money to go through when I inserted my OPTUM card for $10 co-pays ) and he had a heavy face when he talked to me. I got a call from Alex the store manager a couple of days after posting this review and answering a survey from Lenscrafters; not sure which got their attention, but it was definitely something that they wanted to address. Alex listened closely to my experience and confirmed that they should have handled it better; the technician and lab manager should've helped since I came in within the time frame to get my glasses. He asked me to come back and give them a chance to improve since I already returned and got refunded. He assured me that he would be there and also have his assistant manager Mari on top of things. I came back the next Wed. and briefly said hi to Alex before I was taken under Mari's service. She's amazing, been through a lot of managers, and still loves her job after 10+ years and it shows. Her care, her dedication, and her smile made me feel much better and not as worried. I was given a 2nd exam just to confirm the prescription and this time it was my original optometrist from 2 years ago. We confirmed that the new prescription was incorrect and too strong and aggressive since it was only my astigmatism that was worse, my vision was still the same. I also had some tears that the doctor gave me antibiotic drops for. She didn't want to issue any new glasses until they were healed. I came back again on Friday and got a new prescription, Mari fitted me with glasses that actually sat correctly on my face (bridge issues, Asian face). She gave me a discount which I applied to the super polarized Transitions (would solve glare issues) and also some extra lens cleanser. She said it could take up to 10 days but it came in 5 and I got my glasses the next week. The service all this time has been top notch and I feel confident that with Mari here, I would come back again. It's been 5 days and my glasses are great, no fit issues, eye strain, or headaches like the last pair, and I feel confident that if I do have issues, this location will take care of it. read more

If you can go to another Lens location, do it!! By far the worst experience I've gotten was at this location. I purchased eye glasses at the end of November with Maricela. Though she seemed pretty nice, the service was not what she presented or her team not sure whose fault. To say the least, it was a long wait to get my eye glasses and they didn't even call me when they were ready, I had to keep calling to check in because it seemed like they don't update you. When they were "ready" I asked why they did not call me and their answer was "I don't know". Oh and they also claimed that something happened with lab testing, so I was told I could take them as is, but when the new lenses came in that I would have to back and change them. I would've returned them, but I'm blind so there's that. So for $412.99 I received terrible customer service. Moral of the story: sometimes cheap is better. read more

The young man that helped me through my process was super friendly and told me my glasses would be set in an hour which I was completely surprised and excited! They were so bent but the optician? said they're really soft frames. I can't believe I bought that story. I come back the next weekend and a gentleman named Luis helped me. He saved you from losing a customer and a bad Yelp review. He said obviously they don't look right and the lenses weren't correct either. Today I went in and not only did the prescription need to be slightly adjusted but the wrong type of lens material was used which is why the frame was skewed. Luis went back and forth with the lab to make sure it was going to work. I was refunded $175 for the wrong lenses. Definitely recommend Luis. read more

Had to finally use my vision benefits before they expire for the year.. I have amazing benefits from work, so out of pocket, I never pay more than $50 bucks.. The staff doing the exam was wonderful. However, my issue came when the heavy set lady with colored hair was rising me up and applying my insurance info. ( Which was already in the system ) I have great vision, so there no need for glasses, so I was getting prescription sunglasses.. She was trying to charge me $197 for a pair of sunglasses .. I was like, nope, you have clearly done something wrong. The frames are only 144 dollars, and my lenses are covered with my deductible of $15, so after everything is said and done. My total was like $70 bucks .. I didn't question it since I figured in the taxes , fees, and whatnot.. once I got home, I realized she charged me for a $39.99 protection plan that I never wanted.. it gets worse. I go home and ask my daughter's dad, and he got charged the $39.99 protection plan too weeks ago . The bf checks his paperwork from 9 months ago, and they charged him too.. Please have them print and look at your invoices in full since they don't go over it completely with you.. Seems like it's something they tend to do at this location which isn't okay. read more

I brought in my LensCrafters Burberry prescription glasses that I had purchased less than 12 months ago without any coverage as I am extremely careful with my glasses. The left lens has a clear issue of bubbling on the coating (which I paid extra for) whereas the right side is perfectly clear - an obvious manufacturing defect! The manager and the technician both agreed that it was a manufacturing defect! But as soon as they saw I didn't have coverage I was told I was screwed. Long story short; LensCrafters does NOT stand behind their products - if you don't get the coverage just in case "your dog eats your frames," they will not touch your glasses when their poor manufacturing process renders your less than year old eyeglasses worthless. Not sure why they would want to lose at least my direct family of four and others as customers over a lens that likely costs them pennies to produce - but that is their call, not mine. read more

Ive been a customer here for years, boughten several (approximately 6) high end designer frames (Prada & Versace) & lenses here as well I have referred 3 people who needed glasses, who all shop here now. Today was the first time I've had an issue. I would like to make clear; this is NOT a review of the eye examination office attached to lens crafters. I came in for my appointment at 10:30 my exam went well, was fitted for contacts & new prescription lenses. While browsing frames i could not find any that i liked. After trying 30-40 frames i found 2 that were "okay" but one was the exact same frame ive had for 2 years now. I went on the official lens crafters website & found several frames i liked. I asked a employee if They could see if they were in stock at any other locations. No lenscrafters have them. So I proceeded to ask if they could order the frame for me so that i can try them on, to which i got the response "we can order them for you but your need to pay for them." EXCUSE ME?! Im not going to pay for frames that i haven't tried on, i want you to order them SO THAT I CAN TRY THEM ON . Ive spent thousands here myself & brought new business several times. Ill be taking my business elsewhere, and im really sad to say it. To the owner/ manager: If you want this loyal customer back you can order the frames i want to try on & assure me this wont be pulled with me again. read more

The first thing I noticed was a lack of selection. It wasn't that they had very little; but, they could definately have more. I didn't have any interaction with the associates as they were busy. So we just meandered the glasses. We liked a few of the glasses but, we still wanted to see a few more styles. I had to change they eye doctor as he retired last year. I had been a patient for over 30 years! I was at a loss as to where I should go for exam and contacts. My family had been going this Lenscrafter, So I figured I'd try it. Glad I did the Dr. at exam was very nice and throughly explained everything. I ended up getting new multi focus contacts. I was helped by Luis for the purchase and he was extremely helpful. I had many questions on what would be the best purchase l, keeping costs in mind. I was able to get just what I needed! I was pleasantly surprised at the cost, it was much less than I expected. So now I've found my new vision care provider. I hope to continue as their client for many more years to come. Went to this Lenscrafters location for an eye exam. I wasn't expecting much ... show up for an eye exam, wait for a while, then get my eyes tested. What made my Lenscrafters experience were the very helpful and informative employees here, especially Jorge. I checked in for my eye exam, and Jorge checked me in. I thought he was going to hand me off to someone else, like other places do, but he took me through the entire process. Not sure if this always happens here, but Jorge asked me the questions on the pre-exam forms that needs to be filled out, and filled in the form with the information that I gave him. All I had to do was sign the form! Yay! Jorge even took me through most of the exam, and thoroughly explained each procedure (what was going to happen, approximately how long it was going to take, what I needed to do). He is very knowledgeable, detail oriented, and very customer friendly! The friendly optometrist took me through the rest of the exam - "does this look clearer, or does THIS look clearer?" There is a large selection of frame styles available at various prices. Every employee that I came in contact with was very helpful and informative.
