Another crappy experience at LensCrafters. I asked about a certain brand and they don't have it. Salesperson was not helpful, stood by reception desk and pointed. I had to ask what brand would be similar and he remained planted at reception. If I would have been helped I would have spent probably $1200. I placed an order for a pair of eyeglasses from on July 10th. I received my order on Thursday, July 18th. When I received my glasses they had double vision and significant blurriness. I checked the order prescription and it didn't match the online prescription I had sent in. Online Prescription Axis: 178 Sphere L -5.75 R -6.00 CYL -.75 What the Lab sent Axis: L 154 R 22 Sphere L -5.5 R -5.25 CYL -.75 I went to my local LensCrafters location in Fashion Square Mall Scottsdale and they said they couldn't help me with a return or process me since I wasn't in the system. They told me I had to call LensCrafters for any help or support and their location was only for in-person buyers. (The online portal says all returns are handled through in-person locations) I went to Costco for a second opinion and they looked at the paperwork in the LensCrafters package and said it was the wrong prescription and obviously on LensCrafters part. The nice employee there was baffled Lenscrafters and Luxottica wouldn't stand behind their product and would make it hard to return the wrong lens or adjust them. This is pretty disappointing since I had a bad experience before with a $700 Sofilo lens that was processed by a Luxottica lab that Valley Eyecare in Arcadia and Luxottica refused to help me with. That lens also was the wrong prescription and had a prominent fishbowl effect that wouldn't go away. *Updated to a 3 star because the online chat and phone support was pretty good. read more

If you are thinking of going to the LensCrafters in Scottsdale Fashion Square save yourself some time and aggravation by staying away. Management sets the tone by ignoring you and subsequently disappearing into the back room never to be seen again. This attitude trickles down to the sales associates (in particular David) who believe they are customers when indeed they are employees there to provide a service to you. Their bad behavior and inadequate assistance are quickly surpassed by their inept ability to perform simple math. I have been to this lens crafters a few times now, it's fairly new they had one before inside Macy's which closed Both times I wanted prescription glasses the people who helped me where nice and polite They told me about different offers. The selection online is much better I always check out the ray ban section which is limited in store that's something I have found in most lens crafter stores.They no longer offer samples of lens wipes they have started selling them instead. I'm not a fan of the doctors office, personally it just felt like a really long visit (had to go through four machines before the doctor saw me) they tried to up sell digital retinol photography which is additional $$ Overall I would go to the store again. I've worn glasses since I was in fourth grade so I've had my share of lenses and frames. I purchased some new transitions bifocals at this LensCrafters last night and received superior service and fitting. They will gladly snap photos of you on an iPad so you can check out your new looks in advance. I must also say that the glasses they fit with their special over-frame device are superior to those I've had that are fitted/adjusted manually at many optical shops. Full of no's and no help at all. Act like you are an inconvenience. Glasses came broken the first time so had to reorder. Wore the broken ones two weeks to discover they are way too strong. At the time my script wasn't expired. By the time (4 weeks later) i get the new glasses i let them know how strong they are. They tell me to just wear them and let my eyes adjust... 2 weeks later Im still getting headaches. After waiting an extra week and multiple calls & msgs later, they refuse to help me resolve my issue. They are rude and filled with no instead of being kind and help resolve my issues. Stopped in to have a pair of sunglasses adjusted. I didn't even purchase the glasses at Lens Crafters but was recommended to go there by a Sunglasses Hut employee. The worker was more than kind enough to to take my severely disfigured glasses and mold them back into wearable protection. He took his time and didn't complain. He seemed genuinely happy to help. The WORST service ever. Walked in to pick up my glasses that were beyond LATE. It was only supposed to take a week. I've been going to this stupid place for 6 years. The service is awful as of late with that new peroxide bleach blonde lady for a sales associate. Didn't acknowledge myself or my friend when we walked in. Didn't even say she'd be with us nothing. The dumb doctors office people are useless and can't simply hand me my glasses that are paid for that didn't need to be signed for. Try acknowledging people who simply want to pick up their item. Learn how to multi-client service and maybe look at someone when you speak to them instead of having your back turned towards them. It's beyond disrespectful. Mocking clients also isn't okay. So if you want respect you need to treat people with it. The second you ignore your clients and take your sweet time, expect a scene and someone to be upset. I have NO PROBLEM letting you know how upset I am. I would gladly do it again if anyone spoke to me with an attitude after blatantly ignoring me and my friend for 10 minutes in their store. I don't mind buying the contacts through the doctor but I'm not paying for a contact fitting if I don't need one. Worst customer service experience ever. My boyfriend bought a pair of rimless frames and was upsold on super pricey "high index" lenses that were supposed to be thinner than normal ones. (They were virtually the same.) They came in (after the first three pairs from the lab failed quality inspection) and we had to wait for an hour while they put in the extra set of lenses because the initial set had a bubble. The second set they put in seemed ok till we were home and he noticed that there is a small watermark on the lenses visible in each eye's field of view AND the lenses weren't even cut to fit the frame correctly. These are $600 glasses by the way, just sayin'. We spoke with a very unapologetic and defensive manager/supervisor, Angel who was shaking because she was so angry (that she had to offer customer service to someone with legitimate concerns??) said the markings are standard and they couldn't do a perfect cut with the frame he selected. I was very thrown off by her behavior since the customer in this situation was being really calm and friendly about the whole situation. I've verified since then that these markings and off-cut are not standard at most quality retailers and I have a hard time believing it is for a trusted name brand like LensCrafters. He reordered the glasses with regular polycarbonate lenses so that he wouldn't have to deal with indicator markings. They told him it would take up to two business weeks to fill the order. After two weeks passed he called, Angel said she would call him back and never did. This happened twice and because he wasn't getting any return calls, he finally decided just to go in to the store. When he did they did in fact already have the glasses and he waited for her to prepare them -- not sure how long they were sitting in the store. It ending up taking over a full month to get these glasses. In the meantime, the immature manager and the sales rep, Marina that we worked with offered no apologies at all. Apparently, once you've paid they don't want to deal with your issues. I found the experience really disappointing because I've always had extremely positive dealings with LensCrafters in the past, but we won't go to this location again in the future. read more

They gave me incorrect prescription glasses. When I tried the glasses my head started to hurt and my vision is not steady, the lady said it could take a few hours to get my eyes adjusted. When I went to work. I wore the glasses for 3 hours it gave me very bad headache, when I remove my glasses my vision was very hazy and it lasted for 2 hours. Then I have to go back and forth for them to fix it. Too much of a hazzle. read more

I scheduled my first appointment here based on overall reviews between LensCrafters and Pearle, which were on the list of choices of my covered vision care providers from my insurance company. I was not disappointed in my choice. I called the office at the end of the business day so I was offered the option of coming in for an eye exam the following day. I was grateful that they could get me in so quickly. The receptionist was thorough and efficient in making the scheduling process easy. She asked if I had vision insurance and took all my information, letting me know what vision benefits I had. She also told me how to get to their location since they're located in Scottsdale Fashion Square, which is a pretty gigantic mall. Upon arrival, I was greeted politely and filled out the patient information forms. All fees were disclosed up front so I knew what the charges would be prior to applying my insurance benefits. By the time I finished filling out the form, I only had to wait a couple minutes before the optometry assistant took me back and performed all the necessary pre-screening tests so the doctor could review them. Upon completion, I was moved to the patient evaluation room where I waited for about one minute for the doctor. Dr Sophie Robinson, one of the associates, greeted me and went over the results of my prescreening. She showed my photos of my retinas and discussed the findings in a clear, easy to understand manner. She explained reasons for the results I had as well as what would happen, why they were occurring, and the resulting effects if the problems I was experiencing were not corrected. She tested my vision correction with the eye lens machine and gave her recommendation on what vision correction I needed. She also explained why my glasses seemed to give me initial problems when wearing them compared to my contact lenses. I was brought into the contact fitting room afterwards. Dr Robinson mentioned why she chose the size as well as type of contacts with which I was being fitted. I was in and out of he eye doctor's office within one hour. I felt confident that my vision needs were being addressed properly. I intend to keep this vision provider as my eye doctor. Dr Sophie Robinson is one of the best eye doctors I have interacted with and would not hesitate to refer my friends and family to her. read more

I went to Lens Crafters and had my prescription done by their Optometrist. That was all good - no complaints with that side of the business. However, working with the other side that handles the frames & lenses was a nightmare. The challenge for them was filling my prescription as I can only see out of one eye. The Dr wrote my script for one corrective lens and one plain glass lens. I also needed lenses that transitioned to dark glasses outside. Thought everything was understood when I left but a week later when I went back to pick up the glasses they were all screwed up. After two more trips I gave up on them and asked for my money back. I then went to a small local glasses shop near my house and everything turned out wonderful. Moral of this story is the big corporate store in the mall is not always the wisest choice, especially if you have special needs that deviates from their standard procedures and operational playbook. read more

Just plain greedy... I found that they were in-network with my EyeMed vision insurance plan. Which we work for and are glad we have. That being said, Lenscrafters was just a place where you go to pay above list price for frames and a lot more for lens treatments and exams. The sales person actually told me that my insurance did not work they way it says it does. Since I'm an insurance agent, that did not go over well. Their out-the-door price was twice that of one of their local competitors for the exact same brand name frames and lenses. Also, the sales person was very pushy and the sales manager was forever butting-in to get her two-cents about how wrong I was. Their attempt to make me feel stupid just did not work. Shame on them. Let me rewind a bit....I had broken my glasses late Saturday night and tried using an old pair to get me by. Huge mistake! It was a different prescription and I should have known it would make me dizzy. So here I was feeling nauseous and then not being able to see, I was having the worst day and I didn't really think anyone could help me, especially since it was a Sunday. While quite adept at ringing up the bill, I have found every single person/manager I have interacted with utterly incompetent. The hubs and I came here yesterday for an exam and glasses for each of us. All of the ladies that worked here in the morning were really nice as well as our optometrist. When we were done, we headed our to pick out our glasses. The tall short haired lady (I should have gotten her name) was awesome. She was so helpful and personable. The prices were pretty steep, but for quality prescription sunglasses I suppose it is to be expected. I was not expecting, however, the level of customer service that I received. I was told that they would be ready in 7-10 days, but they were actually ready that same night!! (score!!) and so I headed back to pick them up. The gentleman that was working was very nice...but I did have to wait quite a while before I was helped. He was the ONLY person working there and I saw 4 different groups of people waiting to be helped. I had a great experience in this store, after finally finding it. They are on the 2nd floor by a small staircase, but tucked away and hard to spot/locate. Anyway, it was late at night about a week ago, near closing time and I went in there because I had bent my very nice, expensive frames and I was worried they were beyond repair. I got them at Lenscrafters in CA, about a year and a half ago. I saw only two employees, a cute blonde girl who went to the back shortly after I arrived and a guy named Daniel, but there were no customers other than me, so of course I was assisted immediately. Daniel took a look at my frames and went right to work. In mere minutes he completely restored my frames and also cleaned the lenses very well. I was thrilled! I put them on and they needed a slight adjustment for a better fit, so Daniel offered to do that and quickly had them adjusted.
