I fell over the weekend, crushed my glasses and now have a black eye. To top that off, I only have one pair of glasses so was not looking forward to forking over hundreds on some new frames. I'm planning on getting all new glasses in the next couple months. Thank goodness I went to Lens Crafters at the Tacoma Mall! :) The person who helped me, Jeff, didn't even mention my black eye or act weird about it. He was extremely professional and was able to save my current lenses! I appreciate the fact that he didn't just pick out the most expensive frames for me to use in the mean time of getting a new pair. He took his time answering questions I have for my next pair and didn't rush me out the door. He is the reason I'll be recommending people and will be sure to go back to LensCrafters at the Tacoma Mall! If you're searching for the right place to go, don't forget to include them in your quest. Incredibly helpful staff. I needed glasses STAT. The Tacoma Mall location for LensCrafters called around to other stores to learn who could fill my very unique prescription within hours (instead of in a week). Federal Way could not do it but Tukwila could. I followed up on their recommendations - drove to the other store and got my glasses speedily. This LensCrafters really knows what customer service is all about. I recommend it with high confidence. I had a terrific experience here. I was greeted as soon as I came in by James, who was helpful without being pushy. He gave me plenty of space to try on frames, but also made some terrific suggestions, which made what has been in the past an hourlong ordeal (where I try on a hundred frames and after a while they all look stupid to me) a 15-minute breeze. I had a decent experience here. I came in with prescription in hand because I needed some specs quick. It's a disorderly set up. I wasn't sure what to do when I walked in. I've never had glasses before, so this was all new to me. At some point a worker was like, we'll be right with you, get a tray a try some frames, or something. Your business would be much better served with a clearly defined reception area. Not everyone who enters knows the protocol. Its like we are to mill around the place until we are are helped? We, the customers, are keeping the line as we mill around....who's next? They ask US. RUKM? Oh me, I'm next, not. The people waiting the lobby area are also the folks fitting us for specs. Wow, just wow. Overall, I got the specs I needed to see, so the lab was fine. Three stars, but the lobby situation really needs attention. Oh, and you're gonna pay for the speedy service. If you don't absolutely need glasses today, don't come here. I absolutely did to get my license renewed. I would come again only if it was urgent. And now that I've been once I know what to do. First timers should probably stay away. read more

Absolutely excellent service. I hate picking out glasses but the staff member who assisted me was extremely helpful in finding frames that actually fit my face and stay in place. I haven't had such a comfy pair of glasses in years. Having them ready to go in an hour was great too! read more

I was recently denied service by the Optician at the Tacoma store because he didn't want to deal with issues from another LensCrafters store. Customers should come first over internal store issues. No response or follow up from the store or regional management says a lot about customer care. I wouldn't recommend this store. read more

Although I've bought several pairs of glasses from here over the years, I will NEVER buy from LensCrafters again. Recently got new frames and suddenly developed red swollen itchy eyes that was diagnosed as contact dermatitis from a nickel allergy. After two weeks, I'm suspicious that it's the hinges in my new glasses, as I've eliminated everything else. I return to the store, and am assured that the hinges are stainless steel. After suffering another two weeks, I test the hinges and unsurprisingly they are positive for nickel! LenCrafters response? "We're sorry for your disappointing experience." That's it--one incredibly apathetic sentence. Not that they were sorry they gave me incorrect information or that they'll replace the frames I clearly cannot wear. Nothing. It's beyond disappointing and they are very fortunate that my allergy was contact and not anaphylactic. They clearly don't care about their customers and I would give them less than one star if I could. Too bad Luxottica owns 80% of the market.... read more

I think this LensCrafters is great! Dr. Kim is super down to earth and really takes her time to make sure you feel like all your concerns have been addressed. The staff have all been friendly and helpful- especially Michelle when she helped me pick out new frames. They have a nice selection of reasonably priced frames and mine came in within a week. It's safe to say, I'll keep coming back. read more

This was my first visit to LensCrafters, the Doctor was very friendly and understanding to my eye issues. She took time to explain what was happening with my eyes and found the solution! Best fit of an eyeglass prescription I've ever gotten. I hated my first pair of bifocals - these are perfect. No distortion at the edges of the lens as I turn my head, everything crisp, glasses arrived on time. I liked the doctor too - thorough, relaxed - didn't feel like you were being pushed through a mill like many eye places I've been. I even liked one of their cheapest frames - and the sales person agreed after I tried on others that the cheap pair looked the best. Overall a little pricier, but to me it is worth it for glasses that function and that I will wear. read more

I had an eyeglass emergency; just moved to the area and ripped a contact before any of my stuff including my glasses could get here. These folks were awesome at helping me get my prescription and even called me back to let me know that they for sure could make me new glasses that same day! I can't see anything without my glasses so I am forever indebted to these wonderful folks and will be visiting them again when it's time for more glasses! read more

I went in to replace my glasses and had a good experience UNTIL I called to find out if they had arrived. I spoke to Mary on the phone, she had nothing but excuses about the delay, and when I questioned her about what she was saying she just piled on more and more. "Oh these glasses take longer to process" What does that mean? No one said anything about that to me when I bought them. "Well it takes longer to drill these frameless glasses" No you said 'to process', do you mean they haven't even been made yet? "Its processing, processing, there are all these layers that have to be done to the lenses...and the drilling makes them take longer" I wish someone had told me that before, I may not have ordered them. "Oh yes and the lab didn't have the frames in stock (the first rep checked on that for me and said they did have them). Finally they came in and James asked me about my experience so I told him how it went -he was apologetic. I got a call back from him, after he had discussed it with Mary, apparently she blamed the other staff for the problem. I found her to just talk, talk talk and not listen, she seems to know everything and she'll set you straight about it too. NOT MY CUP OF TEA! I've bought several pair there in the past, unlikely I'll return, their prices are high, and customer service is low. read more

i bought my glasses for 518 (Coach HC5001 in taryn) in January and they broke in December, thank goodness for the warranty and i bought it, btw i will need to come back, arms are wobbily and i fear they will break. anyway when i went the first time i had an eye infection from out of nowhere from contacts but i had to be able to see and because glasses are ready in 1 hour i chose you since stumbling around half blind is not only bad for my heath but absolutely nauseating. anyway December 18th came in and my arm broke clean off my glasses. i went in, everyone was busy but your employee was so wonderful in asking the woman to wait, approached me, asked my name and said i will be right with you. (#1 reason i love you, you acknowledge customers instantly) i was sat down at his desk, handed him my glasses and he said he will fix them right up if i wait so i told him, i have the insurance, he said oh ok and grabbed my glasses right away so apparently they fix them for you even without the insurance (love that!!!). they were handed to the glasses tech who was so friendly and i was sat on that side of the store. he smiled at me when my glasses were all done, came and sat down with me asking me how they feel so he sat there as long as i needed him there without me feeling like i had to rush even though there were lots of other customers since it was right before christmas time. he then gave me a new box, a lens cleaner and cleaned them and then told me how to get them the cleanest so that was some awesome customer service right there!! I was even told to "Buy those online" with a smile when i grabbed some Versace frames off the rack and was modeling them in the mirror (LOL). the only con is the price, very expensive but i will be going back for more glasses! i will also be coming back because my hinges on my glasses frames are getting very loose. read more
