Great customer service! I wish I got his name but he's the older gentlemen with glasses that works the lens crafters sales floor. He helped me and was patient as I took forever to look. Place was clean and welcoming. The doctor was fast yet efficient which was nice. They have this new technology where they hold up the iPad/tablet to your face with the frames on. It takes your measurements instead of relying solely on self measuring. That way it's accurate, HOW COOL IS THAT! My glasses came in so fast too not the week they had originally given me. My only down side would be not having a hard case or glass cleaner pad when given the glasses. It comes in a baggie and apparently the baggie can be used to clean it as well which didn't quite work for me. Luckily I have an old cleaner that works fine. I love this office. I've been coming here for 3 years and have always had a great experience. Dr. Kim is always incredibly patient and knowledgeable during my exams. Today's appointment I saw the "guest doctor" and I'm sad I didn't get his name but he was just as warm and friendly. The ease of my appointments are always unmatched. After procuring my new prescription I naturally browsed the selection of frames in LensCrafters which is always abundant with what is trending and also classic style frames. The brand selection is always top notch and everyone is beyond helpful with recommendations. Fran and Nikki helped me pick my frames and did an amazing job. Horrible experience at this location. The eye exam was so bad that I spoke to the managers on duty at Lenscrafters. They said it's not their problem even though the both disagreed with the Optometrists business practices. It's a different business tht just leases space from them. My problem is that I booked through lenscrafters. I declined to purchase glasses after the exam because that would be supporting their decisions on not holding their leesee to a standard. This LensCrafters is amazing! Before I went to this location at the Tacoma Mall, I went to a different location in Puyallup and I did not have a very good experience. I decided to go to this LensCrafters a few days later to order the glasses that I wanted and the customer service was truly top tier. I wanted to order a pair of glasses from Lenscrafters, but the first location I went to did not measure my pupillary distance and told me they would charge me $20+ to measure my pupillary distance. So I called the Tacoma location up and told them the situation. They told me they would be happy to measure my pupillary distance for free and order my glasses for me so I don't make any mistakes while ordering. When I walked into this location, I was immediately greeted with smiles and positive energy. Even better... they had the glasses that I was looking at in store (unlike the other location), so I could try them on and see how I liked them. I LOVED them! They went ahead and ordered them for me and I was on my way. Afterwards, I noticed that it was kind of stupid of me to not add on blue-light protection and anti-glare lenses. I went back to the store and asked them if they could update my order and they said yes! When the glasses were done being made, they shipped it to my house. I am absolutely in love with my glasses and I could not be happier. They fit perfectly (not too tight and not too loose) and the quality of my vision is truly better when I am wearing them! I am BEYOND happy with this Lenscrafters and I 100% recommend them to anyone who is in the market for a new pair of glasses that are good quality and will last you a long time. Also, since it was around the holidays, Lenscrafters claimed that it would take 2-3 weeks, if not longer, to get my glasses made. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would give him a 10/10 for great service. Today was disappointing. I went in last week to look at frames which can be a strong profit margin for this business, or to use a couple pairs of frames I love. Extremely helpful and honest about the frames During this time, my insurance is collected and I head home. Today, I came back for the eye exam. I was told of two options and the costs involved with each. Dilatation or a $39.00 option which was faster. I was not told about these options until now. Yes, there is approximately 20 minutes of online paperwork to fill out before the appointment. So, if I choose the option that is covered by my insurance, no co-pay. Or, "your best option", is to pay the $39.00. Dilatation takes 45 to 60 minutes that you sit and wait with a mask covering your mouth and nose, before the exam. I found the conversation with the front desk insulting and manipulative. I am certain this business has a following but for me, after 30 years in sales and marketing, I will go to my eye dr. read more

When I started coming here the service was welcoming and pleasant. However, over the past year and 1/2 the service has diminished significantly. I could not get service whenever I called, it was always we are checking patients in and out and we would need to call you back. The call backs never came. I would call and leave messages and no return call. I tried to overlook the 1st year thinking maybe it is a transition period, it was not. This last visit was the last straw. I had made my yearly exam for contacts and the trials had to be ordered and it took some time to receive. I had to call them, and they told me they were in, but I had to make an appointment to try out the trials. Never in my years had I had to do that. So, I had to wait another week to get the trials. When I did come in, they stated that I had to wear them for 20 minutes and I was accustomed to wearing them for a week to see if they worked but that option was taken away. They finalized my prescription, but I did not order at that time because I wanted to be sure they felt good for more than 20 minutes. Sometime later I ordered over the phone with one of the staff. They took my credit card over the phone and stated it would take 7-10 days. When I called and stated I did not receive (over the years it was never more than 5 days) and we are at day 10, they put me on hold and stated they do not have access to the shipping info, and they would need a manager to investigate it and they would call me back. No call back. Next day I called, and they were busy checking customers in and out and they would call me back. I decided to leave work early and visit the office. Once I arrived, I stated who I was, and I was told to wait for another person to assist me and that FEDEX lost the pkg and they would be working on a solution. I asked for the tracking number for the lost pkg. and that seemed to be quite the ask. I was then offered false lashes and other products I do not use. I simply declined and stated all I want is my contacts to be able to see. Later found out that the office flat out lied, and they never ordered my contacts. Customer beware, ask for tracking numbers when ordering products and go into the office. I believe this fail falls under the optometrist for the office conduct, as she has not even reached out to rectify the issue. Not only has she lost me as a customer, but I have asked my daughters to stop using this office as well. read more

This review is NOT for the TruVision part of the store. They were absolutely fantastic. 5 stars for sure. No, this is for the retail portion where I went to buy some glasses. The time it takes isn't their fault, but I ordered on 5/2 and they didn't show up until 5/18. When I finally reached out to them to find out the delay, they thought they lost them and promised to call back. Instead, I got a text that they were ready. The person who sold me the glasses put down that it was my first time with progressives and that they should take some extra time when I got in there to help me learn how to use them. When I arrived, they couldn't get me out of the store fast enough. I get that no one cares about their job anymore and doing it well or not at all means no difference to their pay. That concept was exemplified with my experience. So to sum up the problems: Communication - Terrible. They don't tell you what's going on, didn't give me an accurate idea of how long it would take to get the glasses, and at first tried to charge me for some lenses that would've cost $1000. If RayBan had accepted those, I would've been dramatically overcharged, particularly since my grand total came in at $600 instead of $1400. Service - They didn't have enough people and the one person they had was done in. When I went back, they had plenty of people, but I seemed to interrupt chat time. Because they were not interested in doing their jobs. I had to address someone to get them to even look in my direction and even that was a dramatic inconvenience. I wish I could offer something constructive here. I don't know what Lenscrafters can do to solve their problem. Maybe their culture is garbage and that's why their people don't care. Maybe they don't pay enough. Maybe their hiring process focuses on the wrong traits and they end up with aloof, disinterested people. But they need to figure it out. Next time, I'll get the eye exam and bounce. There's no chance I'll buy anything from Lenscrafters again. read more

If I could give 0 star I would. I have been a customer for over 25 years but will no longer spend my money here due to their refusal to replace my lenses due to a coating failure. I have spent thousands of dollars with them over the years (reading, vision, and sun glasses) but they would eat the cost for a single pair of lenses (my guess is around $50 their cost). So be it. CHOOSE ANOTHER PLACE FOR GLASSES! Spent 2000$ got the expensive glasses and expensive lenses. Came for adjustment 3 times in 1 month, because the adjustment was not right! First time they broke my frame and replaced it and I was thankful for that... last time I came in for adjustment they scratched my lenses because of the heat, on two pair of glasses! I went on vacation the next day and couldn't come to tell them, I messaged costumer service and they responded with we are sorry! I came back from vacation and went to them and they said we can't do anything even if it's our fault, because of their disclaimer that I, on my side, didn't sign any paper for... So, I'm left with 2 pairs of glasses, that are sideways from their adjustment and scratches on my lenses... 500$ only for lenses... So, save you time and money, go to another place other than Tacoma Mall Lens Crafters... They are nice, but nice doesn't help when they don't know how to adjust without damaging! HORRIBLE "customer service"! We visited LensCrafters today around 1pm after I had success with them in Arizona. While entering a lady yells from across the room at us and we tell her we were looking for readers. She lost interest in us and continued doing what she was while a younger blonde girl showed us the small selection of readers. I believe the lady is a manager(BRIGHT pink eyeshadow) comes over and tells us we will need to provide our prescription if we find frames. My boyfriend had a copy in his phone and asked if it would work. She stated that since the prescription is expired by a few months she is unable to help at all, then proceeds to tell us no other glasses stores can either. She was extremely unprofessional, and honestly just flat out rude. My boyfriend and I will never try another LensCrafters now because of her poor representation of the business. If you have Tricare, verify coverage Monday through Friday because they can't do it on weekends and will charge a fee that "might be refunded". They now offer a service that skips the need for dilated pupils, it's $39.xx and so worth it to not have to wait for 30-45 mins for thr drops to work. They were pretty busy but everyone was very friendly and helpful unlike last time, plus the 40-50% off sale got to love it! read more

I've been buying glasses from this LensCrafters for years. The experiences to date have been good. More recently, my latest experience has been very poor. We all go to LensCrafters, at an added cost, for speed and convenance. I have a pair of prescription glasses needing to be replaced due to a warranty issue. The local store has the replacement frames in stock. Rather than making it easy on me, they insist I wait until the warranty replacement frames arrive. The wait is 2-4 weeks. Yet, they could address my problem now and make it positive customer service experience. This is unfortunate and is counter to why I've done business with them for over ten years. If you don't need service and support, this is a fine retailer. However, if you're like most, you will need support, so I'd consider shopping elsewhere. I know I'm planning to look elsewhere next time a need to purchase glasses. read more

Earlier this year I went in for my yearly eye exam. This is my first time at this location I usually go to the LensCrafters at South Center Mall with Dr. Kim (he's amazing & his staff has the best customer service). This LensCrafters in Tacoma, WA was so unprofessional. By far the worst experience I've ever had in my life. The male doctor didn't even do my eye exam. He had the receptionist do it. She isn't licensed to perform eye exams. My prescriptions was completely off! (I never got a call for when my trail contacts came in.) This doctor really needs to get his license taken away. Giving someone the wrong eye prescription is extremely dangerous. I would never ever recommend anyone to ever come here. I rather drive 30+ minutes away to go to a better doctor then get the wrong prescription. read more

I have been to this location twice so far for new glasses (once last year and once this year), and will continue to go here as long as Sam is the manager! Both times that me and hubby have came here, the workers have been super nice and very helpful. We love the selection of glasses they have, and the prices are typical for what you would pay for name brand glasses. The manager Sam is awesome!!! He has a cool accent too. I think he's like Ethiopian or something like that, but every single time we come in there he always has a smile on his face and is ready to help. Apparently, no one works here. Walked into pick up glasses I ordered online. Stood around for 20 minutes without even being acknowledged. I walked up to the person at the eye exams desk and let her know I was here to pick up glasses and didn't know where to go she respond with "you are just going to have to be patient". As if I wasn't standing by the door patiently for 20 minutes. As I continued to wait I decided to look at glasses, a women finally acknowledged me and proceeded to yell from across the room not to touch the glasses and whatever I touched I need to put on the counter so she can clean them. LensCrafters is usually great, but recently I attempted to get a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses (ORB3647N) exactly as the display model was set up, with the standard green polarized lenses in my prescription. When all was entered, the LensCrafters "system" would not accept the order without adding a reflective coating to the lenses, even though the display model did not have a reflective coating. There was no cost difference that I am aware of, but the reflective coating completely changes the personality of the glasses in my opinion. I ended up leaving without buying the sunglasses. I hate that there is nothing that can be done to correct this with their ordering system. They lost a $400 sale, all because the "system" was wrong and could not be fixed. read more

The worst experience ever. I love the instote eye exam center, but lenscrafters is totally different. After happy with my exam service I am so excited for my glasses to be done. Lenscrafter staffs are unprofessional, they ran places to places. Finally, they paid attention to me and ask me. I gave them my Burberry glasses that I bought 3 years ago but could not get done because my exam was 8 years ago and I hate glasses so did not get done. Debbie want to fine a tape to scan check out. I told her that was mine and I brought from home. I even showed my glasses to the lady who check me in for eye exam when first walked in. Debbie look at me from head to toe with an evil look, " are you sure, do you have your receipt for it" . I told her " im sure, of course i have my receipt". But who brought their 3 year old glasses in for eye check. I told her "I have picture on my phone while I worn this glasses, you can check, this was old version because I bought 3 years old. You can check your store if this stype even available at your store. " she did not say anything and check me out , she was not patient enough to pull out my insurance that 30 mins ago truvison could. I had to paid full price without insurance. After got home, and talked to my family. I decided tried to call store and cancel my order because I dont think they deserve my business. read more

I had gone to this specific Lenscrafters despite one being closer to me at the positive review from a co-worker who got contacts with them. Even though I decided to go the LASIK route over contacts, I wanted to leave a review because everyone at the store was very friendly, and I appreciated their quick service. I have a rare astigmatism and so they had to order my contacts for the free week trial, and they were ready within the week. Even though the frames I had my heart set on before I went to the store didn't work with my prescription, James worked even harder to find another frame that made me just as happy. I have never experienced such unprofessional incompetence and lack of quality control when trying to get new glasses as I did in my 3 recent attempts to do business with this company. The staff was unable to correctly cut the lens to match my frame, they were unable to make the bifocals the same size on both lenses, they chipped both of my old lenses when removing them, and then did not reinstall them correctly when they finally gave up. I am not a picky person but these are pretty basic things that any company making glasses should know how to do. read more

Went to the clinic for a 210PM eye appointment. When I got there I was asked to update my file, no problem finished it off without incident I did notice that the doctor had double booked another appointment with me I asked the receptionist how long the exam takes. I was informed that it took 45 minutes. At that time it had already been over 20 minutes and the other patient had not been seen. I explained to the receptionist that I didn't appreciate being double booked since I had a busy day and had somewhere else I needed to do. I also shared with the receptionist that I did not appreciate being double booked. If I would of waited for my appointment I would guess it would of been more then two hours in her office. She informed me that this is common practice for them. I scheduled another appointment three days later for a Friday. On Thursday the receptionist stated that the Dr. Sent me a letter stating they were dropping me as a patient. Horrible way of doing business and if you have all day to spend in the doctors office then DR. Kim is your lady. VERY unprofessional, and rude people. read more

I fell over the weekend, crushed my glasses and now have a black eye. To top that off, I only have one pair of glasses so was not looking forward to forking over hundreds on some new frames. Thank goodness I went to Lens Crafters at the Tacoma Mall! :) The person who helped me, Jeff, didn't even mention my black eye or act weird about it. He was extremely professional and was able to save my current lenses! I appreciate the fact that he didn't just pick out the most expensive frames for me to use in the mean time of getting a new pair. He took his time answering questions I have for my next pair and didn't rush me out the door.
