I have been coming in here for a long time, including my family members. Service has been excellent all the time. Although doctors keep changing all the time, but they all practice professionalism. That's what I like about Lens Crafters. Contacts fittings and samples to try on, to make sure you feel comfortable wearing them. Doctors and staff always patiently and cordial explaining to you from what's suitable to your eyes, choices, up to what Insurance Coverage you have, promotion coupon is sometimes applied on the quote, etc etc. Just that they no longer give out free eyes drops or contacts solution, and no bags to carry our prescriptions lol The place is clean and lots of frames to choose for your prescription glasses. Great location - highly recommend! Came here without an appointment to get a new pair of glasses. It was my first time at this location but I was surprised when I was told they could transfer my information from my old location to here. I was told I needed a new eye exam since my old one had just expired the month prior and would need to make an appointment. I figured they would have to make me come back another day but once again, they surprised me with being able to schedule me the same day, just a few hours later. Conveniently, they're located inside the Westfield mall so I was able to go do some shopping and grab lunch before my appointment. Once back, the eye exam and picking out my new glasses took a little less than an hour. Pricing is pretty much your average amount and it took about two weeks for my glasses to be ready. read more

I wouldn't recommend coming here. The workers aren't very approachable and the optometrist ( Maryam Khatami )seems to get annoyed. I had got my glasses and felt like something was off with the prescription. I then made an appointment with the optometrist to discuss this, and when she couldn't understand what the issue was she started to get a bit annoyed/ frustrated with me. I told her the prescription was making it uncomfortable for me to see and causing me to have headaches. She then told me my vision is 20/20 ( even though I told her multiple times that the prescription was still making it uncomfortable for me to see). Afterwards she told me ," why did I choose this prescription and say it was okay then." Once she was done with her annoyed/ unprofessional remark she told me to give the prescription another two weeks then come back if the problem continues. But, due to the lack of professionalism I didn't feel comfortable continuing getting serviced here and decided to return my glasses and go to another optometrist. Now I have to go to another optical eye center so I can have my eye checked properly. I had a 10:20 AM appointment scheduled at the LensCrafters located at 1200 W. Covina Pkwy in West Covina. I arrived 15 minutes early and was waiting in the parking lot. Despite already confirming my appointment over the phone with their staff, I received a call saying my appointment had been given away because they claimed they couldn't reach me. This is completely unacceptable. I showed up early, confirmed ahead of time, and still lost my appointment due to their poor communication and disorganization. Terrible service! My husband and I went to the West Covina Plaza location for our appointment on a Sunday only to find out both appointments were canceled. The reason was we did not confirm when they called. I said there was no phone call nor message from Lenscrafters. BTW I have confirmed both appointments through the email they sent me two days prior. The associate said my voicemail was full. No one leaves a voicemail on my phone because I always check and clear it. Anyway, she asked if I want to reschedule. I said No Thank you! Initially, the service seemed good, which is why I decided to move forward. However, everything changed after I paid. I went through multiple trials, and the process dragged on far longer than expected. I normally go to Costco or to my fantastic optometrist--who actually takes my insurance--but I chose this location because they were having a sale. That turned out to be a mistake. On my last appointment, I arrived at 12:35 p.m., which was my fault. I live in DTLA and can only come to this area on Saturdays and Sundays, so timing is difficult. I take responsibility for that part. That said, overall this experience has been extremely frustrating. Looking back, I blame myself for three reasons: I did not read the reviews beforehand I did not wait for my insurance I did not go to my trusted optometrist Had I read the reviews, I would have avoided this place entirely. I'm not saying everything is their fault--I fully own my decisions--but this experience taught me that sales are not always worth it. PS. Made a purchase this time and I have to say I am very pleasantly surprised with the customer service and lack of sales pressure, which I heard is a problem sometimes. I have had the same optometrist for years and really not looking to change, except the choice of frames in his place is limited. Came one before to look around and make a "short list" and service was pleasant as I recall. Today, greeted and asked if I needed help. Didn't think I did since I knew what I wanted, so he walked away. When I did have a question he was very helpful and finished the sale. He did ask if I needed the prescription filled here and when I said I didn't, he moved on. Even offered me the AAA discount which I would not have thought to ask. Score!!!! I also have to say, compared to Montebello location where I was ignored, this place has a larger selection it seems as well. This used to be my favorite LensCrafters (I was previously a customer) but their ridiculous COVID-19 policy is arbitrarily applied and I don't think I'll ever be returning here again. My boyfriend came to check out a pair of frames for the first time and the store had no more than 2-3 people working in the front at the time. There were no customers inside browsing anything. The guy let him in but said only one could come in. I think it's a bit excessive considering the size of the store, but fine, I'll let him browse alone. The thing that pissed me off was a family of 3 walked up and they let 2 inside. Wtf? I had to walk away before I got the urge to say something. The sign outside says maximum customers at a time is 9. There were literally 0 customers on the store floor before my boyfriend walked in. Absolutely outrageous. I guess it didn't help that I was just at the LensCrafters inside Macy's and we both were welcomed with excellent customer service. I'll be going there from now on. I will never again recommend this LensCrafters to anyone. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Scheduled an appointment online and arrived 20 mins early to fill out new patient paper work as expected. Then ended up seeing a different doctor than what I was scheduled for but I didn't care as long as they were able to see me. I think I saw Dr Lee instead of Dr Lam? She was very prompt and I felt like I was being rushed. During my exam, she told me I had an astigmatism which is new news for me since I've never had it before. Didn't bother to inform me on what it meant or what changes that would do to my eyes. Prescribed me some trial and to return for a recheck. Came back a week later and rechecked my eyes with Dr Lam. Thought my experience would've been better the second time around since he took the time to really talk to me and inform me more about my astigmatism and recommended me to wear daily contacts instead of monthly due to the dryness of my eye and work environment. Sure why not. So told me he would place the order and that his staff would call me when they're available for pick up. A month and a half later I called back and asked about my order and spoke to a Rolando. He said nothing was noted in my chart and that they would have to call me back after they speak to the Dr. Received a call back a day or so following and was left a voicemail by Amy stating I have to come in with an appointment to get the trial. Why do I need an appointment if it's a trial? Am i only trying it on for the day? Called back stating my schedule is too hectic for me to make an appointment anytime soon. I rather just do a quick pick up and try them and come back for a recheck appointment. Never got a call back so I called again to just finalize my prescription because I don't want to come back here. Everyone is giving me the run around and seem to not know what's going on. Says one thing but call back and someone says something else. Pretty annoying. I always go to Lens Crafters for my contacts every year. This was my first time at the West Covina location. I only came here as i wanted to get my eyes check and order contacts before I moved 2 hours away. I had an appointment on Saturday at 4:45 pm however I did not get seen by a doctor until 6 pm! Once I got my eyes examined, the doctor came back with trail lenses. I told her I have always had the Acuvue Oasis and have no issues with them so if I could order the same ones. She told me oh we don't have those in store so try this daily ones and if you don't like them we will order you the Acuvue ones just call, no need to come back in. So I try them out for a couple days but they are horrible and make my eyes super dry. So today I call to order the right ones however they tell me of you need to come in to finalize your prescription. I was confused as I have NEVER had to go back to order my prescription. I have been wearing contacts for over 10 plus years. I know what works or not. So now they will not release my contacts prescription and I'm no longer local to drive back for them to "release" my prescription. They also ran my insurance for my exam so now if I need to order contacts I will have to do another exam which is BS. Sounds shady to me like they just want to milk more money from the customers. In the end all LensCrafters are not linked and I'll probably have to spend out of pocket just to get another exam so I can get contacts. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!! This place is whack it took 4 VISITS to my prescription... 4! What place makes you come back repeatedly just to get a contact prescription? First visit didn't have my trial lenses so I had to return to get them. Once I did they told me I needed to wait two weeks "to make sure they work." Never had an optometrist make me wait and return when I've already paid them for my prescription. Anyways I finally came back and had an opening appointment but they made me wait 20 mins when there was no one else there. Then I go in and this is the third doctor I've seen (no consistency) and she is not familiar with my file AT ALL. Like she had not reviewed it or understood why I was there. So after checking to see if they work she was trying to tell me I have to wait 1-2 weeks w trials before they finalize it. I was confused so I told her no I'm wearing the trials and I've already waited the two weeks so they work that's why I'm here?? I also mentioned this when I came in and over the phone so I didn't understand her telling me this. She kept doubting me and went to check with the front and came back trying to get me to take new trials!! I said "no I'm fine I just need a prescription for the ones I have I don't want those." And she repeatedly gave sarcastic remarks "if you say your fine" and "okay if you say so" ??!? She was trying so hard not to give me my prescription and another thing this felt like her first week bc she could not control the machine that you lean your chin on, it kept hitting me and she didn't know how to stabilize it. The staff is polite and knowleadgelable, this review does not reflect on them, but this is the new experience getting glasses. I've been coming to Lenscrafters for many years, probably the late 80s. I've purchsed dozens of glasses, sunglasses, contacts and eye exams over the years. Usually it is pretty predictable and hassle free. But, it keeps getting worse. In the 80s and 90s, you could go in and they'd have your glasses ready for you in an hour (remember that?). But they pulled their labs out of the stores so now it takes a week or more to get new lenses, but that's OK, times have changed. But if you don't also order new frames, here's the experience. You take off work and come in for an eye exam. Then you order your new lenses. In about a week, you have to make an appoinment to come back and drop off your glasses and leave them with them. If you are lucky, they will have someone staffed to actually fit your leneses into the glasses (this used to be done when you walked in in the past, but not any more). So, you leave the glasses with them and then somehow either have the luxury of waiting around the mall for a few hours, or finding someone to drive you back to work, schedule to take off another day (or few hours) and schedule another visit to come back, hoping when you do the glasses will fit and you won't need to leave everything again. For the first time since the 80s, I'm now asking myself why go to Lenscrafters? There is more selection online, there is more convenience online, and you can get a quicker exam for less at Costco. Not to mention all of these alternatives are less expensive than Lenscrafters (way more expensive when you include gas, time off work, etc.). Pretty hard to understand how this model will succeed moving into the future, but my guess is they will go the way of Sears and other retail outlets that forgot how to take care of their customer. UPDATE: Called to make sure the glasses were ready. After a long hold, they said I'd now have to take off work again Monday to pick up only one of my sets of lenses installed in my glasses. After explaining how bad this experience was and how often I've had to take off work, the person said, well you should be able to pick today. No guarantee (like they had given me yesterday, but just a vague "should" be able to pick them up. Wish me luck, I'll now waste my Saturday waiting to see if I can ever get these glasses. read more

First time I came here for safety glasses. No issue with the glasses or the exam but when I was told I'd be called in 10 days to get them they never did. I had to call and ask. Wouldn't you know they were ready and have been for a couple days. Today I walk in without even a greeting. Other customers were greeting and helped as I sat. After a few minutes I went to the counter. They looked at me as if they didn't know why I was there. Told them I'm here to pick up my glasses and it's been about a month. Well they were there by under the wrong phone number. Manager was nice enough to apologize and get me on my way but the lack of customer service as I came in and stood in front of the counter was shameful.
