I came in, and the doctor rinsed my eye and helped remove whatever was causing the irritation. She couldn't see anything specific, but it was most likely lint from a blanket. I was really uncomfortable, and they took care of me right away. The staff was kind, patient, and attentive. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for good eye care, especially if you have Medi-Cal -- that's a huge perk.

Many years ago, I had cancelled my Costco Business Membership to get one at Sam's Club because of the reasons listed above. I would still occasionally stop by a nearby Costco with my mom, but each visit would remind me of why I wouldn't want to go back. It was not worth to lose my sanity over a few bags of chips and a few dollars saved. Fast forward to recent months I discovered this Costco in Azusa and this location completely changed my mind. Lots of samples on the weekends, around the afternoon it can be a hit or miss since most of them stop and clean up. The self checkout line will be someone pre scanning your car items so that once you get to the register you can scan your card and all the items are already there to pay! Super quick but you cannot buy alcohol and if you want to use any Costco credit card cash back it has to be at a staff checkout register.

Making an appointment was as easy as calling the optometry and giving them information on my insurance plan (where they are able to look it up and tell you the benefits). On the day of the appointment, I recommend coming early to fill out the intake form as a new patient and bringing your existing prescribed glasses. Afterwards, I took some quick check-in test before seeing the doctor. Dr. Nguyen did my eye exams and she was wonderful! She was thorough, explained everything in an easy to understand/detailed manner, gave really practical and actionable advice, and answered all the questions I had. The front desk folks, Ben and Raul, were also amazing!! They were super friendly, kind, and helpful throughout my visit. What I most appreciated was that they explained all the benefits of my insurance and shared their recommendations on what frames and lense features to choose given my benefits. In terms of frames, they carry name brands like Gucci, Fendi, Versace, Prada, Tom Ford, etc. Plenty to choose from. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better optometry experience.

Ira has always been reachable whenever I needed assistance, and ensured that I was able to meet my doctor, Dr. Eric Leung, on time as well. On days that I suddenly had to reschedule my appointment, Ira would help me find a better time, and would remind me when the new appointment day got closer as well. I might have to wait sometimes, but I understand that Dr. Leung is busy and has a lot of patients, and some patients may take a little bit longer than others. Other than that, there are plentiful of parking spaces, but try to avoid weekend since GV is located in the plaza with many other stores. It might be difficult to find parking spot on ground level during weekends, but you can try the lower level. I would highly recommend GV to anyone who needs an eye doctor.

I live an hour and a half away, so this wasn't a quick trip. During my second visit, another employee took my measurements and told me everything was good. When I got my glasses in the mail, I realized they had never recorded the measurement I came back to give them. It finally made sense why Kim had texted me after my second visit saying I needed to come back, even though I had already been there. Because that measurement was never entered correctly, my glasses were made wrong. Everything was blurry, and wearing them made me dizzy. I even messaged Kim to ask if the measurement on my receipt was correct, and she told me it was. It wasn't. So I had to make a third trip back to the store. Valerie made the situation even more frustrating. She changed the measurement right in front of me but kept saying it had been correct the whole time. Then she pulled up my old measurements from the Del Amo location, where I had bought the exact same glasses before, crossed out the incorrect number on my receipt, and tried to print me a new one with the corrected measurements like that was supposed to fix everything. It didn't change the fact that I had already made three extra trips because of mistakes on their end. I understand that mistakes happen, but the lack of communication between employees, the repeated errors, and the way everything was handled made this a really disappointing experience.

My main issue with this location is that they basically did not listen to me when I said my new…read morecontact lens for my eye with an astigmatism hurt. Of course it was a different doctor too from the one who did the exam. I said that after putting it on my head started to hurt immensely, and they tried to say it was because the contact lens brand was different. I knew something was different/off and just had to directly ask the eye doctor, "is the prescription different now?" She said, "yeah, just a bit. A change from a CYL of -1.75 to -2.00." Not to mention that during the vision test I failed reading a line, the tech told me to try again, and then "I passed." They overcorrected my prescription and as a result I had a ton of head pain/eye strain and obviously it was incorrect. The eye doctor said they could try another type of contact lens brand (SoftMed) and I agreed. After speaking to the lady in the front, apparently it was another brand change yet again (Total 30). So yet again another miscommunication that was not given to me. Terrible experience that is indicative of corporate greed. Not to mention this specific location does not send you an email with your contact lens prescription, they call it a "HIPPA violation" or "the fax machine is broken." Funny how another America's Best location under the same independent group that runs this location ALSO has an "issue with their fax machine." The exam is nowhere near as comprehensive as a small business eye doctor I went to afterwards. It takes a maximum of 15 mins at the most here for an exam and the vision tests and "diabetes check" machine is not thorough in my opinion, the other machine at another location was much more extensive and the doctor actually spent a lot of time explaining the results. Exam was thorough and took about an hour at least. And the best part? They don't have a "broken fax machine" and gave me my updated contact lens prescription through a patient portal immediately. So overall my main issue is that when I reported slight dizziness and intense headaches, the staff basically dismissed my physical symptoms rather than re-checking my eyes/prescription, which I later confirmed through the more comprehensive and new eye doctor, was in fact and overcorrection and causing me strain. UPDATE: THE "RESPONSE" from the business is just an AI generated PR thing. They don't actually respond when you email them like the message says
