Received a call from LensCrafter almost 2 weeks after this debacle and was told that I can come in for a refitting free of cost. I did go and got the correct brand listed by the doctor on the prescription, so adding a star for that. Although I had already used my last year's prescription to order the correct contact brand but meh, will keep the paper as a reminder for this experience. read more

Update: 3 stars to 1. Picked up my new glasses on 12/1 between 12-2pm. New frames but it was still scratched. I know it's not their fault but come'on. I tried to wear it the night I got it to Slander but not even a mile outside, I saw streaks of lights or rays coming out of every light sources. From lamps and car lights. Today 12/3 between 12-1pm, I brought it back and Tom accused me of taking my glasses home the first time around when it was him who I gave my glasses to to replace the frame.Then he said he couldn't replicate my problem. I also heard him and an eye tech laughing about my problem behind the counter. I told them it was AT NIGHT. NIGHT. Geez. They don't listen at all and WAS MAKING FUN OF ME. This Tom guy gave me an attitude the first second he saw me. I don't understand why. It is not my fault for having to visit this place this many times. On 10/09, I ordered 2 pair of glasses. One was to be ordered because they didn't have it in stock. The lady told me it'll come in a week. Within 2 days, 10/11, they texted me that my glasses were ready. For some odd reason, my phone received it but I don't remembered seeing it. For a whole month not a single person bothered to text or call me again to pick up glasses. The whole time I thought it they were just busy. That's why I waited a whole month. I eventually picked it up. But here comes the sus part. After I got home from picking it up, I noticed that one of the frame was all scratched up on the front. I immediately brought it back the next day. The dude told me they did not have it in stock and it will take at least a week. I then realized that they MUST'VE used the DISPLAY FRAME instead of ordering the new frame a month ago. That's how they got my glasses done in 2 days. Now, it's all just speculation but everything kinda adds up. Hopefully my new frame will be scratch free! read more

I had my annual eye exam at this location with a different doctor than in past years. She insisted that a new prescription was necessary , even though I've had no vision problems since getting new prescription lenses 12 months ago. I took my prescription home and compared it to the one that was issued to me in June 2021, and found the two to be IDENTICAL! My eyesight had not changed one iota since last year- yet this doctor was insistent that the change absolutely required that new glasses be purchased! Needless to say, I did not purchase new glasses and LensCrafters just lost a longtime customer because this doctor lied to my face. To be fair, the optical technician was delightful and professional and the sales staff were polite and as confused as I was. But I am totally done with this place! read more

I love LensCrafters. And the service at the Woodbury location was fantastic. You may be able to find glasses for less, but when you need something later, will they be available? I have used LensCrafters in 3 different states. When you travel you think about things like service and availability. I want to commend Sarah, she is really helpful and knowledgeable. I usually have anxiety going to the doctor in general but she is so cool and laid back she makes the experience so much better. I love my glasses I purchased here last year. Everyone was very nice. My only complaint is that they wont submit to my insurance. Which is odd to me as I have great union benefits thru my husbands employer, Blue Cross Blue Shield that cover $500 a year for contacts/glasses. I called last week as I needed to use up my insurance dollars, and was told again they wont accept my insurance. As much as I like this place, its to much of a hassle. I would have given more stars but I received a phone call just hours after getting and paying for glasses. The reason for the call was they couldn't locate my payment. The gal on the phone was rude stating that I hadn't paid for my eye exam. I had my receipt and told her exactly what it said. She then stated that I cancelled the transaction and redid it. First of all I do not work there so I was not the one using their register and secondly if she had looked more into it she would have seen this and not called me and accused me of not paying. I had an appointment at the Woodbury, MN location for an eye exam. Knowing that I needed new frames, I arrived early to do some pre-shopping. I was greeted at the door, checked in and given a box to hold my frames of choice. With all of the choices, I quickly felt overwhelmed. Generally when you visit a Lenscrafters store, there is always a salesperson there to help. However as I tried on frames, no one asked me if I needed help. I was able to narrow it down to two frames. I approached two salespeople with a couple of questions. They answered them...but still offered no help.. Please don't get me wrong, I don't expect undivided attention, but I do expect someone to at least connect with me while I'm shopping. Hours later when my phone rang, I hesitated to answer an unknown number, but am glad I did. I came to this location to possibly do an exchange after purchasing glasses in Roseville and being unhappy with how they fit/look. I was nervous about asking to exchange, even though they have a 90-day "no questions asked" policy, but it was not a problem at all. After first discovering that the salespeople at Roseville hadn't fit the glasses to me at all, they fit mine to see if I liked them any more. I was unsure, so they encouraged me to look around. I got down to my purchased glasses and a new pair by the same designer. The general manager came over and was very helpful and encouraging that I had to like them so if I wanted to exchange, it wasn't a problem. I ended up exchanging and he (the general manager) helped with the AccuFit for the new pair and doing the exchange, which didn't cost me a dime since the new frames were the same price and was still completed in an hour. The 40% coupon I had used with the first glasses also applied to the new purchase even though I didn't have it with me anymore. If you're looking to try glasses at Lenscrafters, I would highly recommend this particular location in Woodbury. Great customer service that I did not experience at Roseville. read more

Excellent customer service and nice brightly lit location with lots of natural light which is invaluable when you are looking at yourself in glasses and want the best possible lighting. I'm only in MN for a short vacation and left my contact lenses and glasses at home in Seattle. Normally I like to support small independent businesses but thankfully my last optometry appointment was at a Seattle-based LensCrafters and so this LensCrafters in the Tamarack Village was able to look up my prescription et al on the LensCrafters system. They gave me some free trial boxes of contact lenses to last me during my time here in MN. I was so grateful at how easy this all was that I opted to order some new glasses from them while I was there since my insurance covers it and they were able to make them for me in only an hour. Also, their staff was very knowledgeable and helpful- such as providing guidance on the type of frames I should look for that would work with my very strong prescription, and then verifying with their lens makers once I selected some. This is in stark contrast to my experience with the LensCrafters at Westlake Mall in Seattle where they messed up both my and my boyfriend's eyeglass orders because the person that helped us didn't verify whether our frames would work with the lenses we require, even though we had advised him of the issue. Instead he seemed more interested in selling us on a slew of expensive add-ons for the lenses. That boondoggle wasted a lot of our time. I normally don't write reviews but I felt it's necessary to write a review of this location and Lenscrafters in general. Don't ignore the negative reviews, and don't always believe the positive reviews since it often is propped up by employees. At your first visit, most Lenscrafters will treat you like royalty after your eye exam, hoping you shell out hundreds of dollars for overpriced Chinese-made glasses that break just as easily as any others. They'll use deceptive pricing and discounts, like a continual promo of nearly half-off an already astronomical price to begin with, which many consumers have wised up to, and now purchase from cheaper outlets online. You basically pay extra for lip service and for their high rent, being situated in high-end malls to make it appear more luxurious or elite, which doesn't add any real value to the cheaply made product itself. I give them credit, you are treated generally well when you are initially helped, as they want to sell you on overpriced glasses. However, they treat you like an unwanted leper if you have any concerns later on with your glasses, or if you accidentally damage your glasses and want to use the protection plan they sold you on (which costs extra to buy, and it costs even more when you want to replace your glasses). They'll tell you how some customers have tried to pull a fast one on them in the past (however that's done, I don't know), but they really don't need to act like some sort of condescending sleuth when an honest customer needs to use their protection plan for their damaged glasses. I was patient and polite, since I just wanted to replace my glasses instead of quibbling in return with them, however the ladies I dealt with at this location and others were just plain bat crap crazy and completely out of line. They acted overly authoritative and unhelpful, so they must have been on a power trip being in a managerial role. Each store creates its own rules apparently, so anything they tell you at one Lenscrafters won't hold up at another location when you relocate (some locations haphazardly determine eligibility for using the warranty, like if your cat gets a hold of glasses, or they get run over, or if they're not scratched enough). I'll spare you all the details of my stressful experience with this chain, as I just want to get my main points across without writing a novel. I just know that after being talked down to, with them raising their voice and acting condescending and smug, like some sort of tag team that won't assist a loyal repeat customer who shelled out literally thousands of dollars over the years, I just don't see the point returning to this Lenscrafters. You'll find the same games when you move and go to another location, since they discretely write notes in your file, casting you in bad light so you'll be treated like a leper at any other location you go to. After realizing other Lenscrafters in this area have similar issues (read reviews), I'm not alone in how I perceive this business. Once you read deeper into the company itself, you understand it's part of a much larger entity, Luxottica, a foreign company (pays no taxes like Amazon, etc?). Luxottica owns the whole spectrum of companies involved in your eye glass purchase with its monopolistic practices. It goes full circle. They own the insurer you most likely have (EyeMed), most eyeglass retail chains (Lenscrafters, Pearl Vision, etc.), and the manufacturers (RayBan, Persol, Oakley, etc.). If you give any hint of wanting to get your prescription and shop elsewhere, you'll be given the runaround, and you'll find that you're limited to buying from one of Luxottica's retail chains with your EyeMed insurance. The truth is, you're better off buying cheap glasses from another retailer without any protection plan, then buying new ones when they fall apart a year later and your prescription has already changed then anyways. I spent a small fortune at Lenscrafters over the years and regret it, and after the way I was treated, I won't spend another dime on this monopolistic company ever again. read more
