Stay far away from this place. My wife took a brand new pair of Maui Jim sunglasses in for a simple adjustment and they shattered one of the lenses. Before they started the adjustment they made my wife sign a waiver because they do not sell Maui Jims any longer. The unexperienced technician took the glasses and started heating the center trying to turn a non wraparound frame into a wraparound frame, simply ridiculous. She shattered the lens handed them back to my wife without an apology. The manager basically said you signed a waiver it's not our problem and again no apology. Absolutely unprofessional. I called to set up an appt since I was out of my contact lenses. They were scheduled out quite a bit, & they were willing to set me up with some trial contact lenses to hold me over until my appointment which was nice! However, when I came to pick up the trials, the prescription for my right eye was off by a quarter. I explained this- and was rudely told they were "out of it the right one, & it's fine to wear it." I asked how am I to wear the wrong prescription for two weeks??? I was told "People do it all the time". LOL It makes ZERO sense to prescribe contact lenses that are the wrong prescription. I was laughed at and told I had the "right to my own opinion". I've been coming to this location since having moved to MN almost 3 years ago- Believe me when I say I won't be back to any Pearle Vision clinic. read more

The good: they have good technological equipment and do a professional job with the eye exam itself. The bad... oh there are so many. I'm a pretty patient person, but this store continually tested me to the point where I will NEVER go there again. 1) My eye insurance provided coverage for a regular eye exam. I had a choice between doing a dilated pupil or using their fancy machine so that my eyes didn't get dilated. Since the representative told me the fancy machine was covered, I went with that decision. Afterwards, I had to pay because I discovered it was only partially covered. Not great, but not the worse thing. That comes later. 2) My eyes are slightly different prescriptions. Multiple doctors in the past have offered me the option to use either two different contact prescriptions OR just use the same prescription for both eyes since that allows me to buy less boxes of contacts. Since I had to use a large amount of money (flex savings account that was about to expire), I wanted to order the lens with separate prescription for my left and right eyes. I asked the doctor about testing it out and was dismissed. I had to drive to the store on two separate other occasions to ask if he would consider it. Finally he agreed to give me a trial pair to try -- and acted super nice like it was a great idea that I try and see what worked best for me. But when I returned to place the order, they wouldn't let me order because the doctor had not written up the trial into the system. So then they had to ask the doctor to authorize it formally, I had to leave the store with another pair of test lens, and come back another time to place the order. 3) I go to pick up my lens. The box seems different, but since I only get contacts every 12-18 months, maybe the branding changed? As I leave the store, I am opening up the box and realize it's the wrong brand! I go back into the store to tell the clerk. He doesn't believe me because the order matches the box. Until he sees my trials don't match what he ordered a few weeks back. Then he tells me, they don't accept returns if the box is damaged. The box is not fully open, just ripped up in the corner. He is basically accusing me of being the one who did the wrong thing. I had to remind him, it was his mistake for ordering the wrong contacts in the first place! In the end, they fix it for free and I get correct contacts a few weeks later. 4) At the same time as I ordered contacts, I also got a pair of new gold frame glasses. When I put them on, I was immediately a little dizzy. But I racked this up to new lenses and not being accustomed to them. 5) I found out I got a new job a few months later. Now I needed to burn a new year's flex savings account money before I leave my employer. So I decided to update the lens into my old black frame glasses. While they are putting in the new lens into the black glasses, I have to wear the gold frames. I often get headaches and my eyes sometimes unfocus while driving or looking at the computer. I assume it's because I am using the computer too much and working too hard. It gets worse and worse, so then I go to Pearl Vision and ask them to check the prescription. The woman doesn't seem to believe me, but checks anyways. It's the wrong prescription! She doesn't tell me how off it is or anything about it, but says they'll fix it. So I wear the black glasses in the interim. 6) the gold frames come in and are fixed. I also get headaches in the black glasses so ask her to look at them. She says both are correct. I have never worn glass lenses in my life that are like these pairs -- where my vision gets unfocused or I get headaches. I am too busy and uninformed as to what I can do at this point. 7) Months later, I see a lawyer that is free through my UMN student account. I get some advice to go see a more professional eye clinic. I go to St Paul Eye Clinic to get someone else to check my glasses. I find out that both pairs are the right prescription, however, there are slight errors in the lens that are within the "margin of error" which could've been addressed if I had brought it up within the 30-day period that Pearl Vision has. So yes, part of it is my fault. But at the same time, when I did bring in my black frames during the 30-day period -- Pearl Vision (a) did not find anything wrong with them and (b) made me feel like I was wrong to even suspect this. I had so many problems here that I will NEVER go here again. I've wasted $1000+ on this place and now I have two pairs of expensive glasses that are not that great. One pair (the black one) literally gives me headaches within 5 minutes of wearing them. read more

Having been diagnosed with astigmatism at age 6 I have become an eye doctor aficionado. I was not at all looking forward to my first visit here because quite simply I hate getting air puffed in my eyes. My experience here was honestly my first AMAZING eye appointment in my life. Dr. Bruce Lebert was so friendly and extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Even the rest of the staff there was super helpful and friendly. Iwill definitely going back and in the two hours since my appointment I have recommended Dr. Lebert to multiple friends. Cannot recommend enough! read more

The examination was fine, knowledgeable doctor, she informed me of a couple of areas to watch over the next few years. The fun started with getting new glasses. I selected a pair from a low cost section, because I was paying out of pocket with FSA reimbursement. When I was finally assisted, I was never given any pricing guides, I was just asked if I wanted certain things. $800 later, I walked out feeling like I had been fleeced. Add to this, the current advertising offering a free eye exam. That requires a coupon, (never saw that on the TV ad) and, it only covers the insurance copay portion of the exam fee. Since I had no insurance, I was SOL. They did refund me for the eye map procedure, which was the part of the exam I would have expected to pay extra for. I felt very deceived by the whole process and will not use Pearle again read more

My husband got new glasses in January and now has a small scratch on one of the lenses. Went up to have it checked and told $100 to repair unless he had the protection plan. Was never offered the plan for $34.95 and the glasses are only two months old. Very misleading and not willing to back product. Will be shopping else wear for new glasses. read more

Working with Bill was the easiest and most beneficial encounter I've had with a sale. He went out of his way to ensure that I got what I wanted and was very helpful in laying everything out in layman's terms. I had a fantastic eye exam by Dr Bruce Lebert. He is so personable and really seems to enjoy teaching his patients all about their eyes. He didn't try to push anything on me and really listened to my concerns. He is truly a great doctor. The rest of the staff was great too, I was offered help and assistance *just enough* and they we're never pushy or acted as if I was wasting their time. 5 stars to Pearle Vision on Valley Creek. read more

After reading reviews, I recommended my husband go here for his eye exam after work. He said the customer service was very poor- everyone seemed to be rushing to get home- and when he presented a wellness card that was supposed to give him a $10 discount at this location, he was told they didn't know what to do with it and charged him full price. The optometrist then told him that he had a lazy eye, which he had never been told before, but got another eye exam done at our clinic later in the week to get a second opinion and they said he does not. We were a walk in at Pearle Vision (we have used them in the past). They got my husband in for a eye exam and helped him pick out new frames. Chose this place because of its good reviews. Upon walking in, i got greeted with a " welcome we will be right with you", but no eye contact was made. Place is small, not a lot of room. After being greeted properly and checked in 5min later, my daughter was sent back to get her exam. She said the Dr. was very professional and made her feel comfortable. So that's a A+. In the meantime, I waited with my 2 annoying children in the lobby with no chairs. The truth is the whole time I was there the ladies that where on this shift seemed snobby. They weren't very friendly. I understand kids can be annoying but their snobbiness wasn't helping. We where interested in getting our free pair thru our insurance, once I mentioned that...it was obvious they didn't like my plan. lol. Almost all of their glasses are $199 and up. I do admit they have a great variety of fabulous frames to choose from but none are with discount. No one helped her select a frame that was face fitting. Just sent us to the section we could choose from. After picking a pair, snobby lady told us they'd be ready after a couple of hours. That part was awesome! Usually we have to wait around 2-3 weeks. So I loved that! So we come back and a gentleman helps us. He is friendly and helps adjust my girls glasses. Let's us know that refills are free on the glasses cleaner. Another awesome thing. He was also great as an employee. Now the problem was that I asked him for the prescription and he "said sure let me go get it. " and as we where waiting snobby nosey rosey said " they don't owe anything" the guy then said" I know" and proceeds to wait for computer to print prescription. That's when the witch decided to say" oh oh oh, I now see what you're doing." And chuckled. Pretty much saying, in my opinion, that we sure couldn't buy glasses there but we sure could get the prescription and go elsewhere. So besides the snobby lady that worked there on the shift I decided to go in on, I would have gave them a 5 star. But I must say, if you have kids, don't go there. Go to Vision Works in Stillwater. Only reason why we went to this place is due to our dumb insurance. Maybe I took it the wrong way, but that lady needs to get her nose out of the sky and get with it. And if you don't have kids, and don't mind one or two snobby ladies working there, then you might like this place. read more

The eye doctors here are amazing... the problem is the front staff. They are clueless, rude and disorganized. I've been giving this place "one more chance" for 5 years now. Saturday was the final straw. Front desk guy didn't know how to check me in, other woman there announced that she was "Swamped" and couldn't possibly check me in. As I am finally filling out paper work ( my appointment time is now 5 minutes past when it should have started) I see the Dr. that I am scheduled to see calling someone in for their appointment.. um huh? I am supposed to be seeing you right now.....So I ask front desk guy how long the appointment is.. he says 30-45 mins... um were you going to TELL me that I'm going to be cooling my heels for 45 mins cause another person just went in at MY appointment time? So I tell him I need to reschedule, and he tells me that the dr I am scheduled to see works there VERY infrequently and the he cannot re-schedule me. I will have to go call the other clinic that she works at that is 20 mins away from me and RE-make an appointment that way. Gee Pearle Vision, you really don't want my business do you? read more

Poor selection of eyeglasses. Place seems under-staffed so customer service is poor. The optometrist was touching me too much on my knees and back. It was inappropriate and I had to glare at him to get him to keep his hands off me. When they gave me a copy of my prescription it had an error in it which effected the prescription. They didn't take the time to properly inform me about how to take care of my contact lenses and when I called to ask what type of contact lens they gave me for trial, they knew the brand but not the type and I still don't know what type of contact lenses I am trying out. Although they are less expensive than some other places, I would not go back. read more
