Can I just say first: I am one of those women the mechanic sees coming a mile away. I know nada- zero- nothing about cars and I don't hide it. So when my car doesn't start I'm terrified because: a. any $ spent on a car is $ taken away from my shoe budget b. I hate being taken advantage of c. I stress over if this new problem will be the start of a money-pit situation with my 2006 automobile? I am happy to say out of a terrible situation (starter had to be replaced and payday was a week away) Leo brown was there for me. Yes, he will charge 47.95 to check the problem. But the price to replace the starter was comparable to a guy who was just going to buy the starter at AutoZone and do it in my driveway (which did not seem like a good idea after researching the procedure on Youtube). Even though I was grumpy and demanding, as is every Real Housewife's right, Leo Brown treated me fairly, honestly and respectfully. The shop itself is clean and has a nice waiting area. I have been going to Leo's since the owner was running it along with his mechanics. I have been going to Leo way back when he owned a Mida's in Glendora and followed him to Covina. That man was honest, truthful, efficient, did great work and gave a great deal. I was honored to have called that man a friend. I was bummed when sold his shop and retired. But, hey, the man worked for it and he earned it. I was hesitant of the next owner but I got to know him and the mechanics at that time and they carried on the tradition of being honest, truthful, efficient, doing a great job and earning your patronage. There must be a new owner because they now nickel and dime you. I had a mechanic diagnose my car and told me it was a catalytic converter but never told me where, my car has four. I paid, was never given a receipt and on my way. This became a major problem where I took it back and that mechanic is no longer there and never inputted the information into the system to let me know what cat was faulty for me to replace. They diagnosed it again and charged me again, AND did not give me a receipt stating the issues found. I was given an estimate for dealer parts which exorbitant and when I questioned about after market I was given a reason which didn't make any sense. Leo would have and has worked in getting quality parts wherever he was able to get them and passed the savings onto the customer. Not these guys. I walked in the shop and they have Leo's awards and accreditation to give the facade he's still working there to gain business. When Leo had this shop his mechanics had their accreditation up to show customers their experience and show potential customers what they were capable of. Nowhere was any accreditation of the mechanics who currently work there. More than 15 years I have been patronizing this shop. I have moved on and will no longer be going there. read more

Car been in the shop for 5 weeks to fix the head gaskets, ended up having to replace the timing chain and components, harmonic balancer replace, crankshaft position sensor, and the throttle body cooling hose. And my car is still leaking oil , this place is only good for oil changes, ac charging, wiper blade changing and any other simple task. They don't know what they are doing!! I didn't know Leo sold the company to a random person so I ended up taking my Vehicle in for service but it was the biggest mistake. It came in on a flatbed due to it not running and while it was in service the original guy that gave me a quote and all the information wrong with the car, quit so when I went back to pay and they had a completely different quote with other issues found with the car. It was in service for about 1month. After I gave up and paid to get my car back, the check engine light came back on the next day. I wanted to fight for my money back since they didn't fix my vehicle but I have too much goin on in my life that I ended up taking a $2,300 "L" :/ the girl at the front desk is very rude on top of it all. AND after I got my car back they left all the dirty parts and boxes from the parts in my back seat. read more
