Stopped by yesterday to pick up some replacement brake caliper hardware. We couldn't find what we were looking for, and a very kind, gracious young woman (employee) offered to help us, and she was able to order the parts we needed. She possessed a sincerely enthusiastic, cheerful, and helpful demeanor. My wife and I agreed that she offered the best customer service of any business we have ever been to--restaurants included! One of My headlights was continually on the blink, sometimes it would come on and other times it wouldn't; I noticed, sometimes if I tap it, it would come on, and as soon as I would start driving it was out again so I decided to replace the bulb. Will was extremely helpful! He went above and beyond to help me change the bulbs, which was in an awkward place to gain access to, but he took his time, and was awesome. I walked in and waited my turn and went up to the counter and said... my car will not start I believe I need a new battery. Can you please come out and check the strength of the battery to see if I need a new one. If so I am ready to purchase a new battery from you. The guy behind the counter said I am unable to help you now I need you to stand aside while I get to the three people that are behind you in line. WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS? I had the best helper here Ezekiel. He was so nice and kind spoken. I had a super dead battery and he helped check out the power level. He looked at the battery and knew it was a good battery that was purchased in 2016. He said those batteries should last a longer than just dying out right now. He recommend I run the car for an hour and it would bring up the voltage. He was right. I came back, he retested it and the numbers were good. Super helpful. read more

Sales cards placed in multiple areas, $32.99 for 5 quart synthetic Castrol with K&N filter. Get to the register and it is $54. They decline the rate and go and remove the cards. They get to keep the oil and filter, off to Walmart. Customer lost. read more

The service in this place is mediocre. My dad and I stopped by here on Sunday.. and there were a decent amount of people in the store. When an associate walked past my dad, my dad asked him "do you work here" and he said "not right now" then he went outside with 2 other people to smoke. only 2 people working in the store, 3 outside.. and a handful of customers in the store. didn't seem very professional. read more

I can't believe the difference between the store off of Sudley Road and the store in Centerville. My car broke down in the parking lot of the Sudley Road location and I stood in line like everybody else and approached the counter on my turn and explain the situation that I just needed them to charge the battery and then replace it as I was certain that was the issue. I was told that I had to wait who are the four people behind me to be serviced first before they would get to me! What? Did I not wait my turn? Am I not a customer? Walked in on a very snowy day because our windshield wipers were singing a tad out of tune. It was easy enough to pick out wipers but I also needed a part for my truck and they had it for a good price. I bought the wipers, the part and some PB blaster. Whole thing was ~$60. Very quick in and out. Staff was quite helpful. No complaints. I will say that there was an employee helping a woman when another employee was yelling at the other about something and he was yelling back. It was a little annoying but I couldn't help notice that there was annoyance in their tone like these yelling matches happen often. Maybe I'm making assumptions. Maybe i'm being judgmental but I thought I'd share my first impressions anyway. read more

Sun/Jun2/2019 Walked in to have a code pulled for my car and waited 20 minutes in line to be told I would have to wait until all the customers were handled. I said that was not acceptable and was told there was no manager on duty? I was told this was a free service they offered when time permitted. I told the cashier the point was it was a service offered by the company. Free or not I was next in line. I was not going to wait 20 more minutes for the line to clear. While I was in line I noticed other customers being helped and the average time at the registers was about 15 minutes. If I was helped, the cashier would have to run out to my car/ take the reading and print the code for me. I would say that would be about 10 minutes. Also, I have bought product before and need some items for a few upcoming repairs, so I would be a paying customer. The whole mind-set is not very customer-oriented. read more

Felt like this location warranted an updated review. I've been ordering parts online since they always have promo codes you can use and are usually ready for pickup within 30 minutes as advertised. While service is still really slow, I've noticed a slight improvement. Seems like they added a couple of staff members with actual car knowledge which is great. No more incorrect parts, but I always recommend to check and open the packaging before leaving the store. The only problem left is their extremely slow check out time. I understand some people come in and have the cashier look up the part they need, but I swear I usually see 3 to 5 other people in the back office and I don't have a clue what they're getting paid to do. After going to AutoZone, who said they couldn't install my battery because I had a stereo wiring case (it was really part of the battery attachments..the clueless morons at AutoZone just didn't know what they were doing), I desperately went to Advanced Auto to replace my battery. They had the best prices in the area for a truck battery, and installed it very thoroughly and in a timely manner. I will definitely use them from now on. I have been to this location several times and have always found what i needed or been able to ask someone to help me find it. Today was for headlights. I have used their free tool loaners, and free check engine light reading for my family's cars. The staff is very helpful even though they can get super busy. Expect to wait for their free wiper and battery installation on the weekends. Otherwise the staff has always been helpful. read more

Just went in for a brake light and not only rung up immediately, the salesguy made sure I got the correct model. Without asking, he walked me to my car to install. When it required more work than he was allowed to do, he pulled up the utube video and had me watch what was necessary to complete myself. so i went back on wednesday to have the management team correct my overcharge for the 3 wipers incident on labor day and the manager on duty was able to fix the overcharge!!!! After finding every auto shop in manassas was booked out weeks away, I have been in and out of advance auto for a few days trying to get my vehicle up and running. The first day I was in for a battery and alternator test which was done by Brad. He was very helpful and glad to assist. I bounced a few ideas off of him and he gave me some good advice on how to install an alternator myself which ended up saving me 600 dollars. As it turns out I misdiagnosed my own problem and was back 2 days later to do some more work. As I worked on the car in the parking lot a bolt head snapped off leaving the shaft in the threads and completely road blocking me. Luckily for me, Paul was there to save the day. Paul has almost 3 decades of experience and he was extremely friendly and helpful he went way way out of his way to help me. He found exactly the tools and parts I needed at the lowest cost to fix my problem. He even came out to the parking lot and helped me out. I could tell that I wouldn't have gotten the same customer service from every employee there but the 3 or 4 I came into contact with were excellent.
