I got my first every tattoo at Leonardi Tattoo last week and was very impressed with the cleanliness, the professionalism, and my overall experience. Deerstine was totally prepared when I arrived. She took the font that I sent her for my two word tattoo and enlarged the letter 'e', which I was going to mention to her but she knew it was not right and adjusted it. I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for Jen and her team. I reached out to Jen after my best friend experienced the sudden and tragic death of her young daughter ant Christmastime. Jen took all the information about the memorial tattoos our group wanted to get and was able to get us in quickly even with the holidays. This was so therapeutic for us in the horrible time we were dealing with. Jen took so much care dealing with our grief and recognized our decision fatigue. What started as a consultation has turned in to 2 amazing sleeves, both done by the incredibly talented Jennifer Leonardi. I was interested in a black and grey piece around some old tattoos. Jennifer recommended to cover it instead and you would never know something else was there. I gave her lots of ideas I had and she narrowed it down to this beautiful skull and roses sleeve. My other arm had some older tattoos in color and again Jennifer delivered. This time she worked around the old tattoos and added color to the old areas. The result is this unbelievable color sleeve!!!! Every week somebody is giving me positive feedback and wants to know who the artist is. The shop is very clean and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. I highly recommend Leonardi Tattoo for your tattoo needs and all artist working there are true professionals!!! Ps: Jennifer has the "lightest" hand and the healing was very fast which I believe was the result of her experience..... This review is for Alycia Harr specifically, as I have not been tattooed by anyone else there, and cannot speak to their style, talent, etc. Alycia is amazing. She's been tattooing me and several of my friends and acquaintances for years. Her work style and art, while maybe not for everyone, is absolutely first class. Her art is unique and has no comparison anywhere, her color shading is unparalleled. She's also a deeply empathetic individual- she's good at reading what you're looking for in your custom piece and how much you can take off your body language. She is difficult to schedule with, but she does her schedule the way she does for a good reason. I've seen plenty of people wince when I've told them her hourly rate (which is perfectly reasonable for her exceptional quality) followed by a story of their buddy doing it for free/cheap/whatever. Then I see the piece. Ouch. There are things you do not bargain shop for, and top among those is tattoos and cosmetic surgery. You get what you pay for, and Alycia is worth every penny of the several thousand dollars I've handed her over the years. I will continue to be her client until she retires or one of us dies, which ever comes first. read more

Jennifer scheduled me in for 5:30 in the evening. When I arrived, there was no one still being inked. She was ready with everything for me, had her attention fully for my piece next, and no existing customer was left feeling rushed, like one would feel while in a chair of a Super Cut. Do you think it was just a coincidence that she was free at 5:30? She could only have planned it that way, my friend. Ample time for her previous customer, for herself, and for her next customer - me. I always look for small details like these. Life isn't just chanced happenings. A lot of times thoughts ran behind. Jennifer is thoughtful, and for adding a piece that lives as long as you do, this is comforting, assuring. Tattoo is all about details. Jennifer has all the details handled and covered. That's what your tattoo needs; not just your skin, but her thoughtfulness and skilled rendering . That's the way it started, for me to get my second tattoo, after 25 years of happy existence with just one. And she was perfectly accommodating, first letting me decide where it goes, then letting me try the draft out at a slightly different location, until I'm sure of it. The piece took more than two hours to complete. But she was friendly and dedicated throughout. It's a very demanding job, I imagine; everyone expects you to deliver perfection. Nothing less. And for my tattoo, she delivers. At the 9th and 10th hour of her work day, she inks perfection. Jennifer is wonderfully skilled. The place is wonderfully clean. My tattoo came out exactly how I pictured it and exactly how it looked as drafted. The whole experience was simply outstanding. Leonardi Tattoo. Lots of people get inked in Sacramento. I could tell not all of them chose Jennifer's place and craft. For that reason alone, you should contact her and schedule an appointment, if you already came to Yelp for assistance. May I just say this is LONG overdue. I talk about Alycia at least twice a week. This is by fay the most comfortable and enjoyable tattoo business I have ever had the luxury to inhabit - however brief. I have an inner bicep piece and almost a full 3/4 sleeve done by the most talented Alycia Harr, so I may be a bit biased. However if you've ever seen her work.... It speaks for itself. Nay it yells. I am constantly stopped by people asking who did my work. I excitedly tell them about "my" Alycia. She's so talented BUT modest, humble, calm, and yet a true perfectionist when it comes to her craft. My dad found Alycia, when we had decided to get tattoo's together, as I was his only tattooed child. He scoured Northern California for an artist that would meet his needs. He found that artist in Alycia. I agreed with him whole heartedly.HIT s process took two years. This review isn't just for Alycia. Jen is a phenomenal artist. As I have had a sleeve completed at this location I can say I have seen Jen's work first hand and she is first rate talent JUST like Ms. Harr. These two ladies along with their apprentice, Josh, provide the most relaxing tattoo experience I could have ever hoped for. This is not your typical shop. These artist work with return clients, and are sought after with waiting lists! If you happen to get in with either, consider yourself LUCKY, and be patient - it is so worth it. If you want a fly by night tattoo - that a handful of people could have the exact same thing in your city? This might not be the shop for you. JUst saying. Not that they are rude! Far be it! I just had my tattoo done today by Josh and he was just fantastic! My previous experience with tattoo artists wasn't too grand so I was a bit nervous about finding someone who was meticulous enough to be able to produce something I was proud to have on my body. My brother and Josh have known each other for awhile so my brother had suggested I go to him. I said sure just to please my brother... When I was researching tigers for the style of tiger I wanted, there were A LOT of just awful tattoos of tigers. Especially in the faces. When Josh sent me what he had drawn up for me, at that moment I was in love with the tiger. He was exactly what I wanted and I was so happy that Josh had actually listened to me when I told him what I wanted. Besides the tattoo aspect, Josh is really personable and the shop was extremely clean and spacious. Nowadays I find a lot of tattoo shops to be crowded, small, untidy and its just a turnoff.
