Off the bat I have to admit that I am a little biased towards Leonardo's Pizza. Growing up, I ate Leonardo's pizza almost every weekend when I came to visit my grandmother's in Akron. Italo's Pizza and Leonardo's Pizza where the two pizza places that I grew up on. When I would come to visit my grandmother after moving away Leonardo's pizza was always something my family had to eat when we were in town. It was usually the first thing that we would eat when we arrived in town. If my memory serves me well then I have to say that the taste of Leonardo's pizza hasn't changed since I was a kid. It's still the same great pizza. There's something about Leonardo's pizza that makes it unique. And I think it's the crust that makes the pizza stand out from all the pizzas in the area. The crust is thick, doughy, and savory with a little gooey satisfaction and crispiness on the bottom and edges. The edges of the crust are just as good as the center crust. The sauce is sweet and savory with a spiciness that gives it a nice kick. The cheese is stringy, creamy, buttery, and satisfying. I got pepperoni and sausage on my small pizza. The pepperoni was just as good as any pepperoni I've tasted. The sausage was a little bland and tasteless. There is some sort of tasty oil on the crust which I think is a combination of what they may spread on it during the preparation and the oils from the pepperoni. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza from this shop for the first time in a long time. It will be a lot longer before I do it again. What a disappointment. At first I thought they made a mistake and had given me a plain pizza instead. Finally on the third slice I discovered three slices of pepperoni. Wow, three slices on an entire pizza. read more

If I could give this business a zero, I would. As I'm driving through on the highway... I called ahead to place an order. I requested the meatball hoagie have the meatballs chopper or at minimum chopped into four pieces each. The man who took my order said that he would ask the kitchen to do so. After I picked up my order and I was driving, I realize that it wasn't the way that I requested. I called back and a woman answered the phone and I asked why the request wasn't completed. I told her how disappointed I was at the simple request was not accommodated.She told me that "we never chop the meatballs" and her "manager never told her that she had to." That, "it wasn't written on the ticket and that I'm a horrible person for calling." She then hung up on me. In no way shape or form is asking for a meatball to be chopped into four pieces or chopped in general make me a horrible person. I called back and when I asked to speak with a manager, the man who took my order originally hung up on me. I would not recommend this place based on the bland sauce on the pizza and even though the meatball itself is tasty, the customer service is horrible. I may be calling back to speak with the owner at another time because they deserve to know who is representing their business when they are not there. read more

Very upsetting to see how Leonardo's has fallen. Grew up on this pizza. Now every time you call in the younger workers are on drugs. Whether or not it's pills or weed. The kids in there can't go a shift without being under the influence. It's hard to tell if they even know where they are. Sad to say this is my trip to Leonardo's. How the mighty have fallen. After 8 years of going to this place it won't happen again. Tonight we ordered a 16 piece chicken with jojos and a large pizza. Ordered at 5:49pm got off the phone at 5:51. I was told it would be 20 minutes. Picked it up at 6:15 got home and passed out the food to my kids. The chicken is dry and barely existent. So at 7:06 I called to ask them what happened. They get a "manager" she first points blame at the chicken vendor. Which I respond why would you sell this if it's coming in this way? Then she points blame to me. Saying they set it on top of the oven and it was picked up 5 minutes late. I respond so 5 minutes on top of the oven makes the chicken disappear? She says yes that's what happened. I didn't want a refund all I wanted was to be able to feed my kids edible chicken. This lady then blames me because I called at 7:06. I have chicken in the fridge I cooked from two days ago that did not "shrink" and become "dust" how does an hour do this to the chicken let alone 5 minutes on the top of the oven. So the vendor is to blame? Or is it my 5 minutes past the "time" I was to go in? There where two people in front of me when I went in. Should I have cut them and demanded my food, now? Never again. we ordered 2 pizzas because we had a coupon, buy 2 with 2 toppings for $20.00. we went to pick up these pizza and the person would not except the coupon. this person said we should have got 2 toppings whic we thought we did, extra cheese and onions and pepperoni. no matter what, she would not except the coupon! The pizza cost $31.50. These pizzas are the size of a medium pizza! I will not go here again! Very disappointed in more ways than one! read more

It was okay. I liked the sauce... it was a bit in the sweeter side. The sausage was okay...also a bit on the sweeter side too. Lots of cheese... that was good! I like cheese! : ) I just was not real happy with the crust. I am sure it is personal preferences. It had a decent taste.... but it was thicker and doughy. Almost reminded me of a pre-made crust. I prefer a more hand tossed thinner crust. But.... to each their own. I included some photos. Would I buy it again? Maybe not personally... but if I were out and someone else ordered it.... I would not complain about eating a slice or two. It just did not wow me to be a regular. This review is for pizza only. I grew up eating Leonardo's. If I'm ever craving old school Akron pizza, Leonardo's is definitely high up on the list. I recommend doing the sheet pizza. They actually come in 1/2 sheets, which I prefer bc Leonardo's dough and crust is so good. Make no mistake this is a no frills pick up and delivery operation here. read more

I called the place and told them how horrible the pizza was and they offered to make a free one since they do not offer refunds. This one was even worse! Get a sausage pizza and ask for the ranch/Italian sauce they serve with their steak sandwiches! It is a combination forged in the highest levels of paradise. Not a pizza person, their chicken and Jo'Jos are among the best Akron has to offer. We also enjoy their hot wings and their breaded french fries. There is a place to sit-in and eat or you can carry-out. The owner is usually working and provides consistent, friendly and exceptional customer service. What happened to the large pizza? It shrunk into a 12 inch medium size pizza with the price of a large 16 inch anywhere else.

People get emotional about their pizza joints. I know that a lot of people won't agree with me on this one but this pizza rocks. I'm going 5 stars. I had not had one of these pies in probably 15 years. I decided today was a good day to have a lunch picnic at the Goodyear metro park so I ordered one up. These pies are a hot mess. They do not skimp on sauce or cheese. You really might want to go with a knife and fork with this one. I got a sausage pepperoni and mushroom pizza. The sausage is a star. It is a sweet Italian with fennel and garlic. You will be tasting it for a while. The mushrooms are fresh. This is such a rare thing and it's so much better. The pepperoni I will probably skip next time. There is a fair amount of grease going on here. The box soaked a lot of it up. They use a heavy cardboard box so it did not bleed through. This small little pizza place also does fried chicken and sandwiches and various other fried things. They have four booths inside so they are mostly carryout. read more

Pizza is god awful. Its soggy and they don't push the dough down before they put the toppings on. You end up with a three inch crust and the toppings are pushed to the middle. They have excellent fried chicken though, however being a pizza joint first I have to give them one star. read more

Can not /will not give any star rating. Just had the worst meal ever. I ordered a 12 piece bucket of all white meat got 6 little breasts and 6 small wings. The chicken was dry, if we found meat at all. They were all coating and tasted like old oil. The Jojos were ok,the coleslaw was all onion Wasted a bunch of money and time it took to get there.
